The Jewels of Sinnoh

A boy of the age 14 approached the lab, he fixed his one strap backpack so that it didn't feel awkward. He was going to get his first pokemon from the professor. His jet black hair was a bit wild and short, his blue eyes seemed to pierce through anything like a hawk. He had been waiting years for this, he wondered if he would make any friends, he wasn't a very social type you see. His mother had kept him sheltered from others, "Too delicate and sickly" he was in his mother's opinion. His father had finally convinced her to let her child go, after all he had no health issues whatsoever. He wondered if he could even become champion of sinnoh, 'no.' he thought to himself, 'I'm probably just setting myself up for a huge fall.' he thought. He sighed and knocked on the door, his red t-shirt swished a bit and his black baggy pants ruffled as he walked backwards, making way for the door if it opened.

"Well it's better than just Teleport, which is apparently what most Abra know," smiled Amelia. Bubbles was in his Pokeball at the moment, as Amelia had opted to get to know Electra a little more.

"Anyhow, To Oreburg then I guess!" she grinned, moving onwards. Electra smiled, walking alongside her trainer.
"Shinx!" she grinned, Amelia smiling in return.

Turtwig followed Gabriel as he headed towards a cave, "I suppose this leads to the next city." he said. he stood at the entrance and looked inside, it was slightly lighted at the beginning but darkness swallowed the light farther in. This intimidated Turtwig, but not Gabriel.

"I'm guessing so..." blinked Amelia, stepping into the cave. Electra shivered, looking at Turtwig before she too followed her trainer. As the cave got darker, Electra paused. She stood for a moment, getting electricity to crackle through her fur. The result was a bright glow that lit up the immediate area. She grinned, looking up at Amelia.

"That's awesome!" Amelia grinned, "I didn't realise Shinx could do that..."

Just then they were confronted by two trainers who had spotted the bright light from the darkness in the cave. They were dressed in relatively the same way and their movements appeared to be oddly synchronised.
"We challenge you to a double battle! If we win, you have to lead us out of the cave!" they said, Pokeballs in hand. Before either Gabriel of Amelia could accept or deny the challenge, the trainers' Pokemon were in front of them, ready to battle. A Budew and a Psyduck.

"You up for it Electra?" Amelia asked the still glowing Shinx. Electra nodded in reply.

"Good chance to test out Saix!" Gabriel stated. He took the round pokeball from him bag and tossed it onto the field. Saix the Abra appeared in a flash of red, it appeared to be taking a slight snooze. Gabriel could tell that it would wake as soon as he ordered it to attack or if it were about to be attacked. His icy eyes seemed to make the temperature drop for the twins, they ignored it as much as they could and prepared to fight!

((You control Budew and i control psyduck? Although i am doubtful of giving you any control after the abra problem...(jk) ))

"Alright Electra, aim for the Psyduck! Shock Wave!" called Amelia. The Shinx charged a small ball of blue electricity in front of her mouth before firing the beam towards the Psyduck. Amelia wanted to get a good hit in first before the battle got too serious. After all, she had a promise to keep to Electra.

"Budew, use Absorb!" called one of the twin trainers. The tiny grass type nodded, small green tendrils reaching from her body, attempting to hit the Abra and sap some of it's health.

The psyduck was hit with the shock wave, it took massive damage too. It held it's head and it's eyes turned purple. It was using disable on the Shinx, Shock Wave was now useless! The trainer ordered another attack from the psyduck but the psyduck just held it's head, confused.

"Fire Punch!" Gabriel ordered. The Abra snapped awake and it's fist was set on fire by a unknown power. The Abra teleported(Since i've never seen a standing abra) behind the budew and hit it with it's best shot.

As soon as the move command had left Gabriel's mouth, the Budew's trainer quickly called, "Water Sport!" As Saix teleported towards the Budew, it soaked itself in water, cutting the eventual damage in half and saving itself from an easy one hit K.O. The trainer sighed in relief. His Budew there for another turn.

"Absorb!" the trainer called again, the Budew trying to land a hit whilst the Abra was close.


"Electra drop the glowing and use Tackle!"
The Shinx's fur suddenly stopped glowing and the cave was plunged into darkness once more. Under the cover of this darkness, Electra got behind the Psyduck, using Tackle before attempting to dash away so that the water type couldn't get a hit in.

The psyduck was hit, it fell over like a punching bag. "Psy?" it said, not knowing what had hit him. "Future Sight!" the trainer called out. The psyduck focused and set up an attack to hit one of the duo in the next turn. The trainer smiled.

"Continue." Gabriel ordered. The abra nodded and continued to use Fire Punch on the Budew despite the the water sport, since that was it's only move. The fire illuminated various parts of the cave as the abra teleported around, trying to make the budew panic.

"Tackle again!" called Amelia, not letting the gap between the use of Future Sight and the effect go to waste.
The Shinx charged into the Psyduck again under the cover of the darkness of the cave.

The Budew kept looking around. The light from the fire gave away the Abra's position each time, but that just meant he would appear and disappear quickly, scaring the Budew with his quick movements.
"Absorb!" called the Budew's trainer. The Budew loosed it's green tendrils towards the Abra.

Saix disappeared and reappeared behind the budew, it punched it with a fire punch, only to miss.

The psyduck fell over and didn't get up, it's headache had grown too bad to fight. The trainer ran to her Psyduck and used a potion. The psyduck returned to it's feet, ready to fight just a little bit longer, but may not be able to take another hit. The cave began to glow a bit, future sight was activating! Visible psychic waves rushed toward....the budew. "Psyduck what the heck did you do!?" the trainer yelled at her pokemon. The psyduck shrugged.

The Budew cried out as the Future Sight hit it. The poor baby grass type didn't stand much chance as the psychic energy sped towards it. It was quickly knocked out, leaving the Psyduck the only of the two Pokemon remaining.

"Leer and then Tackle!" called Amelia.
Electra quickly got to work, her yellow eyes glowing a menacing red for a moment, shining through the darkness and intimidating the Psyduck into lowering it's defenses.
The Shinx then shifted her position, before charging toward the Psyduck, still under the cover of the darkness.

Psyduck squealed in pain as he was tackled. He rolled and slammed into a rock, hard. He had a dazed look in his eyes, he was KO'd. The twins gathered their pokemon and seemed to be crying a bit, they glared at the trainers as they attempted to make them feel guilty about hurting their pokemon.

Gabriel huffed as he returned Saix. He waited for the light to return and pointed behind him, "Exit is that way."he huffed. The children ran past him, bawling their eyes out and disappeared into darkness. He looked to Amelia, waiting for her to continue as if nothing had happened.

Amelia frowned as the twins ran off, Electra electrified her fur again, re-creating the bright blue light from before.
"We could probably have lead them out anyhow. Now they'll have to find another way to get back through after their Pokemon are healed..." Amelia commented. She didn't like the guilty feeling she had. After all they wanted to get through the cave, just like they did. Maybe they'd try and catch a Shinx after seeing Electra's ability t light up the area.

Amelia moved on, not wanting to dwell on it for long. She wandered through the remainder of the cave, both trainers reaching the exit without much mishap.

Once back out into the sunlight, Amelia stretched her arms. Electra had calmed the crackling electricity in her fur and was no longer glowing.
"Looks like just a short walk until we get to Oreburgh," blinked Amelia.

"Yeah, can't be more than half an hour." he was glad to feel the sun shine on his skin once more, his turtwig enjoyed the sun from a rock for a bit before jumping down and joining them once more. Gabriel spoke, "First gym should be a singe since Turtwig has great defense and has a grass type move that steals hp. Should be easy for you too with piplup's speed and water moves." he had quickly calculated the odds of losing in his mind, the result was very low.

When the group got to the city, a event seemed to be happening near the mine. A large cloud of dust filled the air and paramedics along with chanseys were running about with stretchers. Gabriel was curious about the scene. A citizen ran up to them and asked, "You're pokemon trainers right? You have to help us! The Onix in the mine have ganged up and gone nuts! The Gym Leader is trapped in the mine and it'll be a while before he's free!"

"Awesome," she smiled, glad that she would have at least a slight upper hand when it came to battling the Oreburgh gym leader.

Amelia followed Gabriel over to where the paramedics were treating some people and listened to the civilian's request.
"Onix huh?" she replied, reaching for Bubbles' Pokeball. She smiled down at Electra for a moment before returning her.
"I don't want to risk you battling in there. You might get hurt by a stray Ground type move.." she blinked, putting the Shinx's Pokeball in her bag. She then opened Bubbles' ball and the Piplup appeared, stretching and yawning.

"Hey there!" she grinned, "Sorry to call you out whilst you're sleeping but we need your water type moves..." she explained telling her Piplup partner about the Onix. Bubbles soon nodded and hopped up onto Amelia's shoulder, ready to tackle whatever might happen down in the mine.
