The Butt-tastic Sinnoh Adventure

A pleasant, warm breeze ruffled through the leaves of the trees and flowers that littered Floaroma Town. It carried the gentle scent of nature through the small town, scattering fallen petals among front gardens. In one such garden, outside a simple looking country house, was a young female. She was lay on her stomach, her long red hair hiding her face from view as she concentrated on sketching the two pokemon in front of her.
The two Pokemon, a Skorupi and a Yanma were contentedly playing among the grass and flowers of the garden, chasing each other through the lush stalks.

The serenity of the warm morning was harshly broken as a blonde haired boy tumbled, screeching, from a thicket leading into the small town. "REESE!" he crowed, not seeming to care or notice the scratches littering his arms and legs. He plopped himself down by the red-haired girl and grinned widely. "Whatcha dooooin'?"

Scrambling after him were two female Pokemon, one grass type and one bug type- a Venonat and an Oddish, to be exact.

The Skorupi and Yanma, hearing the boy before seeing him, headed over to their trainer. Reese herself also halted what she was doing to sit up.
"Hey Leon," she smiled quietly to her friend, "Just sketching..."

The Skorupi, a female who went by the name of Quilla, seemed to yawn and curl up next to Reese. The Yanma, a male named Glitch, landed on Reese's head, his wings still humming gently.

Leon observed Reese's sketching for a good three and a half seconds before his attention span ran out. "Oh Reese! I just had the best idea! Let's go on our very own Pokemon journey! Kids from Twinleaf pass through all the time on their journey so why not go on our own?" Right about the time he proposed this question was when his two Pokemon finally caught up. The first of the two females was the Venonat named Ruuma. The Oddish, named Tsuri, caught up a few seconds afterwards. They listened to his question, seeming almost as enthusiastic as he was about it.

Quilla had just closed her eyes and looked as if she was about to fall asleep before Leon mentioned going on a Pokemon journey. Then, her interest was piqued. Her eyes flew open again and she practically hopped onto her feet, clicking her jaws together in support of the idea.
Reese couldn't help but chuckled at the Skorupi's sudden change in attitude. Glitch also seemed to think that it was interesting.

"Perhaps that would be a good idea. I mean, it'd be nice to finally get out of Floaroma," she blinked, "And my mother is forever trying to get me to do something other than draw."

Leon's grin grew even wider as Reese warmed up to his idea. He bounced excitably from his space on the ground, Tsuri and Ruuma bouncing along with him. He leapt to his feet and shouted an excited "AWESOOME!" before being hissed at to be quiet. Lowering his voice, Leon continued. "C'mon let's tell our parent's and get our stuff and then blow this popsicle stand!"

Reese laughed and nodded as she got to her feet, "Sounds like a plan."
The red haired female then gathered up her sketchbook and pencils and dashed inside her house. Before she went inside with Glitch and Quilla however, she turned and called to Leon, "I'll see you in an hour or so!"

Once inside, Reese, Quilla and Glitch headed into the kitchen where female pitched Leon's idea to her mother. Seemingly pleased by the idea, her mother agreed, asking what she planned to do on this journey.
Blinking, Reese stopped and thought for a moment, "You know... I think I'm going to become a coordinator," she smiled, her mother grinning.
"I think that's a fantastic idea!" she smiled, proud of her daughter's (finally) surfacing ambitions.

With that, Reese hurried upstairs, Glitch ahead of her, Quilla just behind. She began to pack her things neatly into a bag including her favourite clothes, pajamas, pencils, toiletries ad the like. She also bent down under her bed and dislodged a loose floorboard. Within it lay a neat, new sketchbook that she had kept hidden to help her resist the temptation of drawing in it. However now was as good a time as any to start fresh. She could document her travels in her journal!
Also in under the loose floorboard was a necklace. She couldn't remember exactly where she'd gotten it from but she'd had it since she was young and had never really worn it. However it had always been a good luck charm, so now, she hung it around her neck, hoping that it might bring luck on her journey.

Leon, meanwhile, had waved to Reese and then dashed into his own house. In the living room he was stopped by his amused looking father who was asking him what all the hurry was about. He explained that he and Reese were going on a journey (to which his father whole-heartedly agreed) and that he was going to fulfill his dream to be a gym leader. His father smiled at him happily, ruffling his hair. "You go on and get your things together, I'll go tell your Mama, let her down easy. She'll be heart broken you know," he teased with a grin. Leon rolled his eyes and gave his dad a playful shove before taking the steps two at a time.

In his room his already winded Pokemon finally managed to catch up with him, albeit wheezing. As they sat down for a breather, Leo threw his things into his bag slightly less haphazardly than one would expect. He was a spastic person at heart but he was very OCD about the neatness of his room, and in this case, his bag. Map, clothing, pokeballs, and more was put inside the bag of wonder that seemed to have no end. After finally getting all of his belongings together, Leo threw the bag over his shoulder and rocketed down the stairs once more, only to find his Mother waiting with Reese.

"Hey there slowpoke," smiled Reese, looking up from where she had been organising a pocket of her bag. Apparently her mother had a few spare pokeballs from goodness knows how long ago. But they still worked and so she had given them to Reese to take on her journey.

"So where are we heading first?" she asked, grinning. Quilla was perched on her shoulder, with Glitch neatly on her head.

"Ah, ah ah!" Leon's mother interrupted his answer. "No one's going anywhere until I give you..." she rummaged about in a bag that was sitting upon the coffee table, "These!" In her arms were two identical eggs. They were a dark brown with softer brown accents and seemed to twitch a bit as she handed them over to the somewhat awestruck teens.

Leo's face split in a huge grin. He began spewing out a repetitive chant of thank-yous before his mother, laughing at his ever present enthusiasm, quieted him. "Those eggs are very special. The Pokemon inside of them aren't the easiest to find in the wild! I know I'll feel a lot better about your safety if you have three good Pokemon to start out your journey with." She went on to talk about the fact that they needed to be kept relatively warm and had been in her care for a good two months. "Alright then! Let's here the answer to Reese's question! Where to?"

Leo pursed his lips in thought. "Well our choices are Jubilife City or the Eterna Forest. I'm not sure if our Pokemon are ready for the Eterna forest just yet, to be honest, so why don't we head to the city first? Then on the way to Eterna we can stop back in for a rest."

Reese grinned as she accepted her egg from Leon's mother. She hugged it close to her chest vowing that she would not do anything to harm it. She then looked to Leo as he answered her question.
"Jubilife City sounds good! And plus it's likely I can get a lot more information about Pokemon contests from there because they have a contest hall," she smiled, her usually quiet demeanor lost in the excitement of beginning their own Pokemon journey.

Leo beamed, pleased to see his friend so obviously enjoying herself and extremely excited about what he planned to do and what Pokemon he would meet. The two Pokemon at his feet seemed almost equally as hyped up for the adventure. Leon skipped over to his mother, pecked her on the cheek, and grabbed for Reese's arm. "We're off!" He called over his shoulder, cackling with glee.

Reese grinned as they left Leon's house. Quilla was still on her shoulder, though Glitch was quite content to flutter on ahead a few steps, lazily letting the breeze do most of the work. It wasn't long before they were nearing the edge of Floaroma Town. Reese could tell because the amount of flowers littering the landscape was beginning to dwindle a little. They were still there in their pastel blues pinks and yellows, but there were fewer of them.

At the gate that led to the route they would next be traveling on, Leon stopped. He mentally prepped himself for a journey that would bring him further away from home than he had ever been before. Taking a deep breath of the sweet Floaroma Town air and looking over to his closest friend, Leo was pretty sure he could make it just fine. Ruuma let out an exuberant noise , shoving at Tsuri in her excitement. Leon grinned widely. Yeah, he'd do absolutely fantastically in the world away from home.

Still clutching hold of the egg that Leon's mother had kindly given her, Reese smiled back at her friend. She took a small breath before stepping forward, Quilla clicking her jaws with excitement as she did. They were out of Floaroma Town now... and beginning their journey. It all seemed so unreal! But so exciting at the same time!
Reese grinned, spinning around to face Leon, "I need to develop some techniques, and there's no time better than in a Pokemon battle. How about it?" she asked.
