The Jewels of Sinnoh

A boy of the age 14 approached the lab, he fixed his one strap backpack so that it didn't feel awkward. He was going to get his first pokemon from the professor. His jet black hair was a bit wild and short, his blue eyes seemed to pierce through anything like a hawk. He had been waiting years for this, he wondered if he would make any friends, he wasn't a very social type you see. His mother had kept him sheltered from others, "Too delicate and sickly" he was in his mother's opinion. His father had finally convinced her to let her child go, after all he had no health issues whatsoever. He wondered if he could even become champion of sinnoh, 'no.' he thought to himself, 'I'm probably just setting myself up for a huge fall.' he thought. He sighed and knocked on the door, his red t-shirt swished a bit and his black baggy pants ruffled as he walked backwards, making way for the door if it opened.

"Bubble again!" she called, not wasting any time.

Quick on his feet, the Piplup dodged around the base of the taller rock, using the sound of the Geodude's previous laughter to guide himself towards the rock type. He saw him curling in on himself, using Defense Curl and immediately took advantage of the time it took to perform the move, loosing another wave of bubbles from his pale beak.

the geodude cried in pain as the bubbles damaged his rock body. It fell to the ground, KO'd. A red beam hit the geodude and it returned to it's pokeball. Another pokeball was thrown into the field, it opened up to reveal a large onix who nearly touched the roof of the large gym. It screeched at the piplup, trying to lower it's defense.

Bubbles blinked for a moment, taking in the sheer size of the Onix before he used Growl. The cute little growl lowered the Onix's attack, though both Amelia and Bubbles knew they had to watch out after that Screech attack.

Bubbles then used Bubble again, firing the water type attack at the Onix before dodging back behind the tall rock.

The onix was hit, but still stood. He roared and used Screech again, his trainer had a plan. The onix was just a set up. The onix knew he was destined to be defeated by the piplup but didn't mind. He was helping his trainer come closer to victory. he continued screeching as much as he could.

Bubbles winced as the sound of the screech cut his defenses once more. The ringing of the sound in his hears continued to irk him as he used Bubble once more. He kept the stream of bubbles going, knowing of Onix's severe weakness to it due to it's Rock/Ground typing. He also knew that he wouldn't last long against their third opponent if these Screeches kept on coming.

The onix put in one last screech before being KO'd. It collapsed on the ground, KO'd. Roark returned the onix with a compliment to his pokemon. He sent out his last pokemon, Cranidos. This wasn't the same one that had met Gabriel though, Roark had two cranidos. The cranidos used rock polish, becoming faster and leaped at the piplup with a headbutt.

Bubbles didn't even need a command. As the Cranidos was sent out, the Piplup started his stream of bubbles again, even as the faster Pokemon sped towards him, he continued his onslaught. Both he and Amelia knew they had to make it count if they still wanted to win. It was also a relief for Amelia that she had defeated the Onix and Geodude already, for that meant she could now send out Electra without worry about Ground type moves as Cranidos was a pure Rock type.

Bubbles was hit by the Headbutt after the stream of bubbles and was thrown across the clearing. He struggled to get back up on his feet, having taken massive damage due to the three Screech attacks earlier. Before he could even attempt to try again however, Amelia returned him to his Pokeball. She knew the proud Pokemon would have disagreed, but he couldn't fight on in that condition.

Grabbing her Shinx's Pokeball, she threw it out onto the field.
"Go, Electra!" she called, "Shock Wave!"

The Shinx nodded, leaping up into the air. Upon connecting with the ground again, she loosed a wave of electricity, crackling along the ground and spreading outwards from that one point.

The cranidos howled in pain as the bubble hit him, it used leer. It followed up with another rock polish then another headbutt. Roark smirked as the Cranidos launched itself at the shinx, prepared to shout out the command for pursuit if they switched again. Switching is what he would have done at that moment, going back to a type advantage would have been the best thing.

"Tackle, but Charge your fur with electricity!" called Amelia.
The Shinx did so as she dashed head on into the Cranidos, her fur crackling with bright blue electricity giving added power to the normally weak Tackle. The electricity also eliminated the resistance to the normal type move, meaning that the Cranidos was damaged normally rather than resisting it at all.

The cranidos was hit, it growled and user leer again while charging at it with a headbutt. It smashed it's skull straight through a rock before attacking the Shinx, attempting to intimidate it into flinching. It leaped in the air and dove toward Electra.
"Headbutt!" Roark cheered as his pokemon dove toward the shinx, appearing to be winning.

Electra attempted to dodge the headbutt but was too late due to the Cranidos' added speed. She was flung across the field, landing at the base of one of the tall rocks that littered the battlefield. She did however, get back to her feet, shaking the debris from her fur.

With a loud shriek of "Shiiinx!", she charged towards the Cranidos once more. Her fur more than crackled with electricity this time, as her entire frame was nearly hidden by the sheer amount of blue electricity that radiated from her body. As she collided with the Cranidos, her body began to glow with a stark white colour, overriding the blue of the electricity. As the glow cleared, Electra was revealed to have evolved into a Luxio.

Grinning widely at the spectacle, Amelia pulled out her pokedex and scanned Electra's new form. The move she had just used was apparently named Spark.

Roark knew he had gone from winning to struggling when the Cranidos seemed to be on the brink of fainting. He called cranidos over and used a potion, restoring some of the cranidos' hp to half. The cranidos faced it's opponent that had a new shape it charged toward them with another headbutt ready for action.

"Spark!" called Amelia. The Luxio crying out, it's fur crackling with blue electricity as it repeated the attack from before. Headbutt had a larger attack power and so Amelia decided that she may have to switch back to Bubbles to secure the win...

Electra hopped backwards a few steps after the attack, her long tail swishing from side to side as she awaited their next move. Amelia quickly called out for her to use Shock Wave and the Luxio nodded, a ball of electricity forming in front of her parted jaws before a long blue beam sped towards the Cranidos.

The cranidos was hit by shock wave but avoided the Spark. Roark predicted that they were going to switch and shouted, "Headbutt!" in a lower voice he spoke, "Pursuit when they switch" The cranidos nodded and sped toward the Luxio, using headbutt and preparing a pursuit.

Electra dodged the Headbutt, but just barely. Amelia then called Electra back, only for the Cranidos to use Pursuit and deal extra damage to Electra before she could be returned to her pokeball.
Quickly, Amelia sent Bubbles out again. The Piplup had recovered slightly from his short time resting in the Pokeball and still looked raring to go. Within seconds he parted his beak once more to loose a stream of bubbles at the Cranidos. The bubbles however, were more forceful and powerful than they normally were. Amelia decided to check her pokedex, since it was still there in her hands.
"Bubblebeam..."
