Lightning flashed and thunder roared. The rain pelted down and the vicious waves refused to calm.
"No! Don't let go!" a voice called, "Just a little longer... Come on! Hang on!"
"I can't... hold on...! Waaaah!"


The now calm waves drifted gently up to the shore. As they receded, they took sand with them, only to bring it back the next time it lapped at the shore's edge. The sun shone down, providing a subtle warmth to all on the ground below. Red eyes blinked open as someone stirred.
"Urghh.... Where am I?" she said blinking. She tried to hold onto her consciousness, but to no avail. She drifted off once more into the dark abyss.

"Right!" nodded Eira before leaping backwards. The Corsola retaliated with her own Tackle, charging at the Sneasel just as the Shellder had done moments before(though it had charged at Hadyn, not Eira.)

Eira thought quickly and focused on 'powering up' her claws to use Scratch again. She then outstretched her paws in front of her in an attempt to prevent most of the damage coming from the Tackle. Of course, because of the contact, it still did some damage, but it was minimal. Eira was lucky, after all the tunnel they were in didn't half constrict their movement quite a bit. It was harder to fight here than it had been in that wider space. The gap between her and Hadyn had closed slightly due to the Corsola pushing Eira backwards with the Tackle.

As the Corsola's Tackle attack ended, Eira raised her claws once more to deal another Scratch attack and hopefully cause the Corsola to step backwards and give both her and Hadyn a little more room to maneuver.

Knowing that the space between them was closing a bit, Hadyn lunged forward with his claws, putting a bit more force into the scratch to push the Shellder back. He grinned as he was successful, giving them both a bit more room to fight.
"How are you holding up?" He asked Eira, before taking multiple steps back to avoid the tackle attack. This also pushed him back a bit further to Eira once again, but the Shellder seemed to be getting a bit tired. Hadyn hoped that they would be done with fighting soon, since he was starting to get a bit claustrophobic in the tunnel area. Not only that, but the more time they took the more chances the two from before had to escape with his stone fragment.

"Pretty good," Eira called back to Hadyn, "I think this Corsola is weakening."
She paused.
"How about you?" she then asked, glaring at the Corsola. The Corsola visibly shrank backwards, weakening it's defenses. Eira blinked, not realising that she had inadvertently used Leer on the coral-like Pokemon. Instead she leaped at the chance, her glowing white claws outstretched as she aimed to deal another swift hit.

"I'm hanging in there. We're almost done here probably." Hadyn responded, looking back at Eira and seeing her use leer. Getting an idea, he looked at the Shellder and growled, not in a bad way but more of an endearing type. The Shellder seemed to hesitate a bit, which gave Hadyn another chance to attack. I'll have to remember that, using moves like that. She picked up on it before I did. Hadyn thought to himself, smirking as he scratched at the opponent with his claws. The Shellder seemed to finally have enough and moved backwards a bit into the darkness.

The Corsola used Tackle again, but because of her close proximity, Eira was unable to dodge. Instead of landing on the ground though, she rolled backwards, nimbly hopping back up onto her feet. She was quite glad that Sneasel had a human-esque figure of two legs and two arms that she could easily adapt to.

Eira then proceeded to leap back at the Coral Pokemon, her claws once again glowing. With this final hit, the Corsola was knocked out and Eira breathed a sigh of relief. The Sneasel then turned to see how Hadyn was getting along.

Hadyn waited a couple seconds to see if the Shellder was making any noise or moving around. Hearing nothing, he turned around and smirked at Eira.
"I think we're good now. Nice job taking care of that corsola." He said, before looking past Eira down the tunnel. He figured that they had to be close at this point, since it was just a small cave. At least, he thought it was. He hadn't heard anything about it being a larger mystery dungeon from any other pokemon in town.

"You were pretty awesome against that Shellder too," she smiled in reply before following Hadyn's gaze along the tunnel. It was still dark that way so they couldn't see far.
"Onwards?" she suggested, motioning in that direction.

A few moments later they were in yet another room. This one seemed to be slightly lighter than before, something that Eira was grateful for. In this room, Eira spotted a weird brown thing and an round blue thing. Pointing them out to Hadyn, she wandered over to the blue thing. Blue had always been her favourite colour for some reason... she never really knew why.
Shrugging, she picked up the small round blue thing and headed back over to the Charmander.

"I found a berry apparantly," she smiled awkwardly.

Following Eira at the same pace so that he could light up a bit of the way, Hadyn walked out into the next room, pleased to see it was getting a bit brighter.
"Well, judging by the light and the fact that we didn't turn around at any point, at least I think we didn't, I'd say that we're almost at another side of it, which means we're close." He pieced together, not having noticed Eira until she walked back with the berry.
"Oh, nice! You found an oran berry. They're pretty tasty, and they're known to help the healing process on some injuries." He said to her, explaining what it was. Looking ahead, the second object caught his eye. Smirking, he walked over to the object and picked it up, placing it in his bag.
"And that was something a bit less edible, it's called a blast seed. When you throw it at something, it explodes. Pretty useful, but also a problem if you drop it." He continued to say, chuckling a bit at the descriptions he had come up with for the two items.

Eira nodded at the description of the Oran Berry, deciding to keep it with her.
"Sounds like an item that could come in handy in case either one of us gets hurt by those two from before..." she pointed out before Hadyn found the seed and proceeded to explain what it was to her.

"A Blast Seed huh...?" she murmured, chuckling a bit at the last comment. When she stopped laughing she pointed out that maybe he could throw it at either Koffing or Zubat.
"It might give us a small bit of a headstart... 'cause they're not gonna go down without a fight," she frowned.

Hadyn nodded in agreement to both points that Eira had made, and looked on ahead. There was a certain section of the cave where the light seemed to be getting brightest, and he decided that that's where it would probably be a good idea to go.
"Yeah, I think we're fine though. After all, we did pretty well against those other pokemon that attacked us on our way. We can probably hold our own." He said, although he knew that those pokemon were wild, while the two they were after were at least able to think and speak on their own, being more intelligent. It would probably be more difficult for them, but Hadyn had confidence in themselves.

Eira nodded, following the Charmander's gaze to the brightest area up ahead. She blinked before turning to Hadyn and giving him a cheerful smile.
"You're right. As long as we're confident in ourselves there's no way we can fail!" she grinned before leading the way towards the brighter area at a small jog. She kept the Oran Berry in her claw as she did. It was too precious a resource for her to let it go.

Hadyn sighed lightly, smirking as he followed behind Eira. Way to get the energetic optimist. He thought, chuckling as he caught up to the sneasel before slowing down so they were jogging at the same pace. He reached into his bag and grabbed the blast seed, ready to attack if the other two did so first.
""Well, I wouldn't say no way, but we've got good chances!" He said, as they seemed to reach the birghtest area. The harder floor they had been on seemed to turn into a soft sandy ground, and there was a large opening at the end of the cave leading out to the water, along with two figures hovering by it.

Eira chuckled.
"There's no use being negative about it but I guess 'good chances' is positive enough," she replied as they reached the brightest area. The Sneasel could feel the sharp change of rock to sand underfoot. It was a nicer feeling than the rock they had been walking on throughout the cave. Eira spotted two figures not far away and narrowed her eyes.
"There they are..." she muttered, staying quiet in the hopes of keeping the element of surprise.

"Dang it Zubat I knew we shouldn't have come into this cave. Now we've found a fricken dead end and we've got to go all the way back," grumbled Koffing, turning to sigh and stare back at the way they had come. He froze however when he saw Hadyn and Eira, nudging Zubat to get him to turn around.

Zubat scoffed at Koffing, not having turned around yet.
"Hey, it's no big deal. We just have to go on back to the beach. I doubt those two will still be-" he started to reply to Koffing, and turned around, seeing the other two there.
"So much for surprise..." Hadyn muttered as the other duo noticed him and Eira standing by. He chuckled nervously, suddenly u sure of what to do in their situation. He had gone in there to take back his stone, but now that the moment was there it just seemed different. I didn't bring us both down here for nothing... Hadyn thought, and started to speak.
"Hey, I want that s-stone fragment back!" He spoke, not really yelling but speaking loudly.

"Heheh. It must be worth quite something if you decided to chase us for it. We should try selling it! It might get a good price..." grinned Koffing.

Eira merely stood to the side as Hadyn demanded his stone fragment back. As the Charmander plucked up the courage to stand up to Zubat and Koffing, Eira couldn't help but smile slightly. They still needed to get it back though... it would all be for nothing if they lost now.

"If you want it, you'll have to come and get it!" Zubat taunted.

Eira's claws glowed stark white and she quickly leaped at the Zubat. The Oran Berry lay in the soft, pale sand, forgotten in the moment as she launched her first attack.
