This was all that went through the Lucario's head as she walked onward to the base of the Chasm, she was wearing her normal scarf and black trench coat with her bag at her side moving slightly as she walked, she felt like a idiot as she walked a steel type fighting in a volcano she is the genius.

She looks at her item's and sees the stick she randomly picked up once, she felt like setting it on fire and using it to swipe at some Pokemon that seemed to be a fun way to pass the time. She mentally shrugged knowing that most here were fire type's so that would be a bad idea.

Noel smirked as the small seed entered the mouth of the giant Pokemon. She was going to use this chance to attack it but then her mind came at a cross. On one paw he was frozen and would be like that for some time so could they use this chance to run it seemed it would be better considering they needed to go forward.

On the other this guy seemed to be a jerk, kicking his arise would serve better for the other feral Pokemon around them but what was to stop them from attacking us right after. This whole thought process to a few seconds before Noel picked what to do.

"Come on he will be stuck for some time let's just go" Noel said deciding they didn't have time for this

Varda was preparing to escape the Fire-type's next attack, though he wasn't entirely sure if he had enough time to fly away! Perhaps he would have, but... The Lucario couldn't fly. He didn't want to leave her behind, so just escaping by using his gift of flight seemed like a rather mean thing to do! But his short and stubby legs just weren't enough, he couldn't run fast enough or dodge like Noel!

But as the large Pokémon gulped down the seed, it was suddenly frozen in place. Its face was twisted into a sneer of annoyance and it was still clearly alive. Even its eyes seemed to follow slowly as the Swablu and the Lucario moved, but it was unable to do anything else. Perhaps that was why it was so annoyed. Varda did calm down when he noticed that the Pokémon was harmless. The seed Noel had thrown into its mouth had worked!

The Swablu nodded rather eagerly when his friend suggested that they should leave. He didn't want to be there when the Pokémon was able to move again! Following Noel, the blue bird hopped quickly, wanting to get far enough so they couldn't be followed. He did hope that they would be in peace for a little while...
"Phew... That was rather scary..."

Noel walked over to a large cave as she walked in she turned back to see the same Pokemon still frozen happy he wouldn't be able to attack them for now she walks into the cave. It was a rather big place with walls that seemed to glow red it was a small trail of lava there but it seemed to be behind the wall though touching it would most likely hurt a but.

Noel noticed another small Fox Pokemon running around a scarf but decided to pay no attention to it as she walked past him or her.

Varda followed the Lucario, noticing that she was heading inside a cave. For a moment he was a bit worried, not knowing what might be inside there and knowing that it might be too dark for him to see anything there... But the walls had cracks in them from which molten magma could be seen, trapped inside the walls and lighting the cave with its red, warm ambiance. It wasn't extremely bright, but it wasn't very bright outside, either. The ground was bare in some places and covered in ash in some other places, some of it seemingly managing to get inside with the wind.

As the Swablu followed Noel, he noticed how a small, yellow fox was following them, seemingly having picked up a small scarf in its mouth. It shared the species with Tina, but it clearly wasn't her... Actually, perhaps it was the small fox the larger fox had protected earlier? Varda hadn't managed to get a good look, but something about this particular fox seemed familiar. It definitely wasn't attacking and it was staying a good distance away from the pair of strange Pokémon, but it did keep following.

Something else caught the bird's eye, however. A bit further away, there was a small pile of ash... And in it, it almost seemed like some leaves were pushing out of it. He had barely seen anything green grow in the ashen wasteland, so it was a rather surprising sight. So surprising, that something inside him just wanted him to check it out!
"Wait, Noel," the Swablu chirped to his friend as he turned to waddle over the strange leaves, carefully reaching over to push them aside with his dirty wing. He gasped as something blue was revealed underneath, something that had its surface soiled by the ash but was clearly a berry. A rare berry he had never seen before...

Noel smirked as she walked along the path, part of her was happy she was exploring with a friend though some stuff had gone down she was glad all this stuff did she hid her smirk though and looked back to the Fox Pokemon following them with a scarf in it's mouth Noel wondered why it had that scarf but decided that it wasn't important.

Noel started to feel slightly dizzy though since she was a steel type now it was harder for her to stay like this so with a few labored breathes she took out one of her revive seeds and ate it happy she was doing well now let out a small cough and keeps going on.

"Looks like we have a little companion" she whispered to Varda as she took note of the Fox following them she didn't know why it was. It it was and Noel felt like laughing because of this but she stopped when she heard a click noise, this was a trap she was about to jump off when a blue light engulfed the area and the trap didn't go off. It was her trap-bust orb she kept.

She looked at the berry and tried to identify what berry it was, might of been the fatigue but she couldn't identify what this berry was so with a shrug. "Sorry I don't remember that berry" Noel said slightly sad she didn't have all the answers.

Varda nodded to the Lucario's whisper. They indeed did have someone following them, the little fox hadn't gone anywhere even though it stayed rather far away, almost as if it was afraid to come much closer... But it still kept following rather than leaving. Perhaps it was curious? He didn't know the answer and the feral Pokémon wasn't telling them, seeing how they seemed to be unable to speak. The little Fire-type kept its distance as it kept watching the pair, the little scarf still in its mouth.

But right now, the mysterious berry was a lot more interesting than the little Pokémon! Noel said that she did not remember the berry... But that only seemed to fuel the bird's excitement, his eyes sparkling in awe as he gasped, his wings gently keeping the green leaves up as he inspected the blue berry with his eyes. If the Lucario did not know then the berry truly had to be rare!
"But that's a good thing!" He chirped, perhaps saying some rather odd words. Often it was better to actually know what something was, but he did have his reasons.

"That means it is rare, right? I haven't ever seen one, at least," the Swablu continued as he motioned towards the berry, looking so happy,
"I was looking for rare berries! A friend of mine grows berries and she definitely doesn't have this one in her garden! If we bring it to her, she could grow more of them for everyone," Varda explained the reason for his own excitement, not able to contain his happiness. Who knew that such a bare volcano could have a beautiful berry like this?

"I didn't know that something would even grow here... I wasn't even looking!" The bird Pokémon was just babbling about as his eyes kept staring at the berry. It was an unexpected surprise – but perhaps that was the best kind of a surprise!

Noel was a bit shocked at the words he had used to describe the berry being a good thing if we didn't know what it was, Noel felt that maybe it set you on fire considering this was a volcano but a berry like that would be very weird and something Noel would remember not the one wanting to be set on fire that didn't sound good.

But the Lucario wasn't about to crash Vardas fun and simply smirks "well guess we should thank that giant feral Pokemon, if he didn't make us go through the cave we wouldn't of found the berry" Noel says with a small laugh she was joking but if you look at the big picture the feral Pokemon did help them find the berry so that was actually a good thing.

Noel walked onward but then she turned back to notice another feral Pokemon with the same scarf as the Fox following next to them, it looked like a smaller version of the one we faced and now Noel was really confused on why they were following us but then decided it wasn't important if they attacked they would be ready.

Varda cooed in deep thought, seriously considering Noel's thoughts. They had gone in the cave exactly because they had escaped from the large feral Pokémon while it had been stunned... Which obviously wouldn't have happened if it never had attacked! Without it, they might have never found such a rare berry, either! Even though the bird had no idea what he did, he did think he knew the best person to ask: Violet. She knew everything there was to know about berries, he was certain of that! Leaving the rare berry on its own in the volcanic wasteland would have been silly.

"Yes, maybe we should!" The Swablu chirped happily after a moment of consideration, feeling that maybe they should thank the feral Pokémon after all,
"...Or maybe not. It might attack again and probably wouldn't understand us," he quickly continued after thinking about it for a bit more. It was a silly idea. Varda turned to face the berry once more and leaned down, carefully biting the berry's stem with his sharp beak. The berry was now free and the bird used his wings to gently carry it.
"We should give it to my friend, right? So that we can grow more?" The little bird still asked, tilting his head just in case the Lucario disliked his idea...

The pair kept walking through the dimly lit cave and the fox kept following. Actually, another Pokémon had joined, carrying a similar scarf. It almost seemed like the two feral Pokémon were friends as they walked side by side... Varda couldn't help but occasionally glance in the direction of the following Pokémon. The new one that had joined almost looked like the big one that had attacked them, only smaller and, well, different.

The two feral Pokémon didn't attack, however. After a moment of what seemed like them gathering their courage, they started to take some faster steps that turned into a light jog, going around the Swablu and the Lucario. The pair stopped for a moment, dropping the scarves on the ground in front of the others before scurrying off.

Noel couldn't help but laugh at the same idea to go say thank you to the giant Pokemon. "Ya considering I froze him he might not be so grand on the whole thanks idea" Noel said as she kept walking looking back sometimes before looking back forward, it wasn't she didn't trust the small Pokemon it was just it is a dungeon so things could happen very had things.

"Well ya the more we have the better we can use them, plus we don't know what it does so if we get another we can test it" Noel says with a smile happy with her idea it did seem the best plan of action unless the berry did what she thought it did and set others on fire. She would not be able to stop laughing if that happened she'd feel bad but still would laugh.

She looked as the two feral Pokemon left the same scarf at the feet of Noel and Varda she looked at Varda as they ran off slightly confused of what just happened. Noel picked up the scarf and looked at it, the scarf was a trap scarf and she puts it in her bag. "Huh pretty weird" Noel says with the same puzzled expression

Varda nodded, it was better to have more berries than just one. They could eat the one they had to test it out... But it was possible they would not see its effects – and then the rare berry would be wasted with no way of getting more! Seeing how only a single berry had grown in the middle of all the ash, it was possible that they would never see another one even if they tried to look for them. It was much safer to save it and then properly identify it later once he got back to Grassveil Town. He was certain that Violet would know what the berry was and what it would do. And then... Then she could grow more. He was certain of that too.

The blue berry was carefully put inside the bag, just in time for the bird to look up to notice that the feral Pokémon that had been following them were up to something. The two ran up in front of the pair, dropping some scarves on the ground before leaving. It certainly was strange and the Swablu tilted his head, unsure as to what it was that just happened – and what they should do next. Varda looked up at Noel, meeting her confused gaze as she then took one of the scarves on the ground, putting it in her bag. With a nod, the bird Pokémon did the same, taking the other scarf.

Soon, another Pokémon dared to peek out from its little hidey hole in the cave wall. A shrew-like Pokémon with a long nose was carrying something in its stubby paws, carefully waddling over and placing its item on the ground in front of the Lucario and the Swablu. It didn't take long for other Pokémon to make their presence known, bringing out more items which they left a respectable distance away from the two non-feral Pokémon.

Noel was a bit shocked when another Pokemon came up and gave them a item, she was wondering why when more showed up slightly filling the cave and one by one they gave item's to the duo. There was 10 item's all together some gummies a tm a revive seed and a assortment of other item's all given to them by various fire Pokemon.

Noel was taken aback but then she noticed a small Fox sitting next to the larger one, by the aura Noel could tell this was the same duo they had saved were they giving them these item's because Varda and Noel saved them?. Just as quickly as they came they left leaving all the item's there Noel looked at Varda and smiled. "That was the same Fox as before, she must of been thanking us for saving them" Noel told him as she looked at the item's.

Varda looked in awe as all the different Pokémon started to come in. There were so many different species, many of which he didn't even know the name of. At first, he was a bit worried: such a large group of feral Pokémon could be dangerous if they attacked, after all! ...But they didn't attack. Instead, they brought forth items, so many items. They were gathered into a neat pile in front of them and the feral Pokémon made sure to not come close, almost as if to make sure that they could tell the two strangers that they weren't going to attack. The Swablu hadn't seen anything like this before. It was hard to believe his eyes even though it was happening right in front of them!

Noel offered and explanation. The little fox was the same one they had saved, so this was its way of thanking them. Had the little one actually seen the Lucario throw the seed at the lava snail? Perhaps, it certainly made sense. But what about the rest? Were they the fox's friends, or was there some other reason, too?
"Wow," the little bird cooed in awe before looking at Noel,
"That's so nice... Though, do you think we did a good thing when you stunned the large Pokémon that attacked us, too?" Varda offered, giving out another explanation. Unfortunately for them, they couldn't just ask the feral Pokémon.

The gifts eventually ended and the feral Pokémon left, hiding somewhere else again. The Swablu and the Lucario were alone again, but now they had a giant pile of items to look through.
"Whatever the reason is, you were the one acting in both of them! So... You should be the one taking the items you want first. Even all of them if you want!" The bird Pokémon chirped.

Noel scratched the back of her head and let out a small laugh, "heh all I did was stun him but that could be the reason" she then let her arm's drop to her side. "I wish we could just ask them" she said slightly sad they couldn't ask why they were getting all of these item's though one of the Pokemon seemed to be a psychic type so why wouldn't they talk in her head, this slightly confused Noel but she decided it wasn't important as of now.

"Well if you think about it when we were helping with the small Fox you are the one who convinced me to intervene, same with the large fire type" Noel says with a small chuckle as she takes the tm and the revive seed. She also took one of the gummies and placed them in her bag. "So I think it's only fair if you get some also" she said with a smile.

It was kinda the truth Noel wouldn't of even thought to try to help but Varda did so Noel decided to, if it was up to Noel she would've just left.

Varda nodded, agreeing that it would be nice if they could just ask them. But for some reason, the feral Pokémon just... Didn't talk. They often were unnaturally aggressive, too. What had made them be that way, he wondered. As far as he knew, there really wasn't anything different between non-feral and feral Pokémon physically. They looked the same, he couldn't tell them apart. It was their way of acting that made them, well, feral. But here it seemed like there was a group of feral Pokémon living together in peace. Perhaps they could talk with each other? Was there maybe another language that he and Noel couldn't understand?

"Oh," the Swablu cooed when the Lucario mentioned that the little bird was the one that had convinced his friend to actually do something. He couldn't really remember what had happened all too well, already forgotten all about what happened a little while ago. Then again, both of the situations had been quite stressful, so his mind probably hadn't worked all too well. Maybe Noel was right and he had his part to play in it, too.
"Alright, if you think so," Varda chirped happily, not wanting to challenge his friend's words. She was very smart after all, so he felt like he could trust her word!

Noel did step forth to take some of the items, only picking a couple but seemingly happy with what she got. While the bird didn't need any of the items left behind and he felt bad hoarding all of them... It was better to take gifts than leave them and look ungrateful, right? He took a couple of steps and started to put the remaining items in his bag, already starting to feel rather full.
"I will probably hold onto these items for a while, so... So if you ever think you need some of them, You can drop by the Guild, right?" The Swablu glanced at the Lucario with a smile.

Noel let out a small laugh. "Of course I think so" she felt like a lot of the paths she had picked here was because of Varda, the not picking a fight with the giant feral Pokemon helping out the foxes and some of the other item's they had found, though they didn't find what Noel was semi looking for it was still good.

Noel took a quick look of the item's she got then smiled. "Sure if I ever find a need for some of those I'll stop by" Noel said as she looked forward to the slightly darkened path ahead. "Only way is forward now" Noel said as she nodded and walked forward.
