Epochire Academy Enrollment Tests

Subject: Epochire Academy Enrollment Tests Mon May 20, 2013 2:32 am

After arriving on Florasia Island, the first year students of Epochire Academy were lead to an open area outside. Their bags had been taken to a baggage claim room, which left the students free to take the school's enrollment test.
The school's headmaster, a tall male with short, black hair and wearing a formal suit, smiled brightly as he stood before the new students.
"Each and every one of you has been chosen to attend the academy. You have all shown the unharnessed, great potential that we search for when selecting our students. The final part of your enrollment here at the academy involves taking a test. For the test, you will each select two pokeballs from the assortment behind me."
The headmaster motioned to the pokeballs that were arranged a short distance away.
"You will select one for yourself and hand the other to one of these teacher, who will be your opponents. Worry not, for the test is nothing to do with winning or losing. The teachers will analyse how you adapt to working with a pokemon you have never encountered before through the medium of a pokemon battle. My name is Mr. Donovan and if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them."
Mr Donovan pulled a piece of paper from his pocket, "The first three to take the test will be Jikui Poingo, Chris Coldwell and Fabio Crowley."

Jenna nodded as she realised that she wouldn't be taking the test first, and retired to a seat by the sidelines with Lumi whilst the three went to choose their pokemon.

Three different teachers went over to the named students, each leading them over to the assortment of pokeballs and urging them to select two.

So I kinda need some way to remain coherent as to which battle is which, so i'm allocating each of you a colour.
Jiku, your posts should be red and I will reply to your battle in red.
Pika, your posts should be cyan
Fabbri, your posts should be green
Also I will allocate movesets for your character once you reveal the pokemon they chose in your post.

Jikui looked at the two pokeballs, then immediately chose the one on the right, "Right is right, am I right?" The teacher looked at him, confused, then picked up the other pokeball. Jikui returned Vulcan to his pokeball, and then let out the pokemon he had chosen. A small electric eel pokemon revealed itself from the ball, floating in midair, and giving little sparks of electricity. "Wow! This is amazing!" The teacher testing him sent out his, a Phanphy. Jikui knew all too well what Phanphy could do. It was a ground type, and this eel was probably an electric type, which gave him a complete disadvantage. The teacher motioned to the screen, and stats came up for both of the pokemon. Tynamo, his electric eel, could float in midair, but had all electric type moves besides Tackle. "Well, I guess we'll just have to employ my special style!" He grinned evilly at the teacher, which made him flinch a bit. "Ready to go, Tynamo?" the eel did a flip in midair, signifying that he was indeed ready.

Fabio was surprised he was chosen as one of the first and knew he had to do his best, but it would be hard because he had always used Kishi in training he would be at an extreme disadvantage and he was going against a teacher who had tons of battle experience, he couldn't let that shake him though. He chose two then opened one seeing a jigglypuff, he face-palmed and looked at the teacher's Pokémon and saw a caterpie and became more confident but not to cocky, "lets do this" he said. (I can't make the text green at the moment sorry)

Chris smiled as he heard that he would be one of the first to go and looked down at the pokeballs the teacher brought to him. He seemed to look at them in thought for a moment before randomly selecting two, one in his right hand and one in his left. He decided to take the one in his right and handed the one in his left to the teacher.
"Alright Tora, you can watch this one and leave it to me and...whoever's in this pokeball." Chris told the Shinx as he released the new pokemon from its pokeball, watching it take shape as a Scraggy. He smiled even wider, seeing the pokemon he had gotten and getting a feeling that it was a good pokemon to get. He looked up at the teacher and waited for them to release their pokemon and tell him the details of the Scraggy.

The teacher nodded and took back the portable device that she had used to show Jikui the stats. She lead him over to a sandy area where the battle would begin.
"Alright then. Your move first," she smiled, the Phanpy stood in front of her, raising it's trunk to signify that it was ready.

(Yes this teacher is a girl. Ahaha.)

The teacher lead Fabio to yet another sandy area, but one away from where Jikui's battle would take place. She handed Fabio a portable device telling him the basics of both Pokemon that would be in the battle. After he had finished with it, she took it back with a cheerful smile. "Good luck," she grinned, clearly enjoying the job she had been allocated. She stepped back to clear some room between then, the Caterpie positioning itself in front of the blonde haired female teacher.

The teacher, a male with short, light brown hair, released his Pokemon; a Litwick. Taking out his portable device, he pulled up the stats for both the Scraggy and the Litwick, explaining them to Chris as thoroughly as he could before taking the device back. Both types could do well on the current surface and so moving a little way away, this battle would take place in another dusty area.
"I wish you the best of luck," smiled the male teacher, the Litwick taking up it's position.

Jikui smiled slyly at the teacher, making her flinch a bit more, "Alright, lady, let's do this. Tynamo, hold your ground for now." The Tynamo looked at Jikui, confused a bit that the new guy hadn't tried to attack first this time. "Tynam tynamo! (what's the matter with you? Let's fight!)" Jikui shook his head, he might be crazy, but he wasn't stupid. With Phanpy being a ground type, all he could do was Tackle. Even thought this was a disadvantage, he had seen that Tynamo had a way better speed than his enemy. All they had to do was dodge and strike when unnoticed, and they would get away with the victory, probably. "Dodge when she tries to attack alright, go straight into the air. you can do that, right?" He whispered to the Tynamo. It nodded, and got ready to dodge.

"Thank you, you too." He responded to the teacher, smiling back as he planned out what to do. I'm at a disadvantage here, don't want to be confused. Start with offensive defense. He decided and figured out a first command.
"Alright Scraggy, let's start off with a Sand Attack, shall we?" He said to his current pokemon. The Scraggy nodded its head and kicked up some of the dirt from the ground towards the Litwick. Hopefully that'll make it harder to hit with some attacks. He thought to himself.

"Let's do this!" Said Fabio. He looked at his temporary partner and said "give it your best, okay I'd really appreciate it", his heart was racing and he was already sweating as he called out " Jigglypuff use Sing!", if this hit he would have an advantage, if not well... He didn't want to think about it.

"Defense Curl, Phanpy," instructed the teacher. She had ginger hair and wore it in a long ponytail. The Phanphy curled itself up into a ball to protect itself and up it's defensive capabilities.

The Litwick flinched away from the dirt and sand being kicked into it's eyes, shaking itself in order to to try and rid itself of the dust.
"Astonish!" called the male teacher. The Litwick obliged, letting out a short sharp shriek intended to damage the opponent via soundwaves.

"String Shot!" called the blonde female, "block out the sound!"
The small bug type used String Shot, surrounding itself in a stringy cocoon to block out the Jigglypuff's lullaby.

Jikui spat at the ground, "Damn, looks like she went for the defensive as well...Alright, let's use a Spark attack, and don't hit it, just spin around it and box it in!" Tynamo did just that, with a box of light surrounding the Phanpy.

Chris winced in almost a mirror fashion to the way the Scraggy seemed to wince from the attack. Okay forgot about that. He commented in his mind, and quickly decided on a next step.
"Alright, let's go for a leer then for now." He told the pokemon. The Scraggy leered at the opposing pokemon, the previous attack helping to give it motivation to make a convincing leer.

The Phanpy remained in it's Defensive Curl.

The blonde teacher quickly called out, "Bug Bite!" and the Caterpie chewed threw it's own String Shot before snapping at the Jigglypuff as it got close to Tackle.

As the Litwick cleared it's eyes enough to see properly, it was greeted by a menacing leer from the Scraggy. It flinched back a little as if doubting it's own power, but some encouragement from the male teacher and a new instruction helped it move on.
"Smog!" he called, the Litwick obliging. A large purple cloud billowed out from the Candle Pokemon's mouth.

"Alright, Tynamo, that's enough! We need to get it out of it's Curl...use Charge Beam on the rock next to it!" Tynamo launched a beam of pure electricity at the rock, raising it's special attack, but more importantly breaking it to pieces, some of them stabbing into the Phanpy. "Great job!"

Flustered Fabio calls out "defense curl!" Hoping the defense curl would protect and harm at the same time, Fabio knew now he couldn't play it safe anymore and use different stratagies. He had to prove himself as able to battle in harsh sotuations or he would get nowhere.
