Ferry Journey to Florasia Island

People seemed to be gathering in Vermilion City's harbor. Which of these people were getting on the ferry to Florasia island, Jennifer didn't know. The second letter she had received, after accepting her place at Epochire Academy, had detailed the date and time of the ferry's departure. The S.S Aqua, which was currently docked in the harbor, would be leaving soon and the S.S Elizabeth arriving. It was part of Jenna's nature to be rather early, just in case something held her up on the way there, but now she had a rather long wait.
Lumi was perched on Jenna's shoulder. The Emolga rubbed her cheek against the side of Jenna's face in a sign of affection. Jenna smiled. At least she wouldn't have to wait alone. Taking a seat on a nearby bench, Jenna dug through her bags to find her sketchbook. She figured she could indulge her love for drawing whilst she waited.

A half hour or so later, the S.S Elizabeth docked in the harbor and opened the entryway to let people on board. Tucking her sketchbook into her bag and taking out her ticket for the ferry, she headed towards the boat, Lumi gliding on ahead. Jenna handed the ticket to the man by the entryway before taking her things on board.
After being shown to her cabin, Jenna sat on the bed for a while, piling her stuff neatly in one corner. The journey would be a few hours long, so she hoped she'd find something interesting to do on the way to Florasia Island. Shrugging to herself, she stared out of the window and watched the far off waves. Maybe she'd meet some new friendly faces during the journey.

Fabio smiled "anytime, though I hope you won't need it, the last thing we want is your head to catch on fire during class" he said chucking a bit to himself "but to be honest if I had a fire type I would probably catch on fire all the time, things usually turn out like that for me, oh and good job Kushi you really helped" he smiled and thought about how everybody on this ship had some quirks like him. "Well anyways I'll be off then" he said walking back over from where he came, his hands in his pockets and Kishi at his side. He also checked for wet spots on the deck.

"It's fine..." Jenna replied, louder than before. After a moment's hesitation she took Jikui's hand and pulled herself back up onto her feet. She glanced from Jikui to Vulcan, smiling a little at the Cyndaquil's shyness.
"Emolga!~" grinned Lumi, crawling onto her partner's head for a better view of the deck.

Jikui picked up Vulcan and held her in his arms, "I hope I won't need it either Fabio, see ya!" He really needed to work on Vulcan's control. She had great power, but it's not like she could control it. "So uh, wanna head somewhere else? The deck is kinda boring, huh?" He chuckled nervously a bit. 'Damn, why am I so nervous right now? Maybe I'm jst a little jittery from the fire...'

Jenna smiled weakly, "I-I'd actually prefer to stay here... I mean... I don't seem to do too well in narrow corridors..." She remembered earlier, when there had been about four people in the small hallway. She had decided to spend as much time as possible in the open deck area in order to avoid that again. After all, it wasn't just this group of students on board, there were some more adults and numerous other first year students.

Jikui smiled at Jenna, "Sure, that's fine, y'know, you don't need to be so nervous. I doubt anyone would try to make fun of you or anything..." As if on cue, three delinquent-looking kids walked up to them. The one in the middle was a little smaller than the other two, and much richer, from the looks of it. He wore a suit, and his appearance was almost-perfect. The two on his sides were bigger and hulkier-looking, but they still looked like they had a father that was a millionaire. It seemed weird that a hulkish guy could wear a suit. The one in the middle taunted them, "My, my, look at the first couple of the new school year!" He pointed and laughed, with his two bulky friends laughing with him. Jikui sighed and turned his head away, he'd met guys like this in Goldenrod all the time, they thought they were better just because they were rich. Vulcan hid behind his leg, shivering a bit, "Don't worry, girl. They're just teasing."

After having spent some time conversing with the other people on the ship deck, Chris glanced back over at the area Jenna and the other guys had gone off to, and noticed three larger looking guys approach them. Huh. usually when I see a bigger sized guy they're not wearing a suit. That's interesting. He thought to himself, before walking over to the group with Tora following behind him.
"Hey, who are you?" He asked the three, a bit curious about it, and also noticing that Jikui had looked like he had been trying to ignore them. Chris gave them a casual smile, but also took notice of Jenna and Jikui's apparent discomfort and kept that in mind.

As the three boys appeared, Jenna had the urge to shrink back and hide just as Vulcan had done. She wasn't very good in social situations to start with, let alone when people were being just genuinely intimidating.
Lumi glared at the three, electricity crackling from her cheeks.
"Emol," she hissed, in a much more menacing tone than what she had demonstrated so far.

Jenna blinked as Chris appeared, and smiled ever so slightly. It had just made the situation a little less tense. Lumi turned to see Tora and also seemed to brighten up a little, her ears rising to their full height again.

Jikui lightened up as soon as Chris came over, "Oh, hey there, Chris! These guys are a real pain, y'know?" Vulcan lightened up to, but soon she smelled charcoal, and two Houndour walked around from the back of the burly guy's legs. "Cynda cyn! (Those are fire types!)" The Houndour barked at Jikui and Jenna. "Don't ignore me, simpletons!" the kid in the middle said. "I am Sukyi! These two are Yuri and Yari. Now I'd like it if you bowed in my presence." Jikui looked defiantly at Sukyi, "Pfft, as if. There's no way I'd bow to you." Vulcan's back burst into flames, and she finally got over her shyness, which made way for pure anger. The houndour looked like dark-types, but they were also fire-types, which made them unpredictable.

Chris nodded his head at Jikui's comment, and glanced back at the guys who were talking. He looked up at the sky, as if he was thinking of something.
"Why though? Normally I thought you were supposed to bow down to someone who was in a position of authority or respected." He commented naively, as if thinking out loud. Tora had seemed to brighten up a bit when seeing Lumi, but with the two Houndour coming out and barking she looked at them and gave them a stern look, annoyed by the two pokemon.

The barks of the two Houndour had distracted Lumi from her good mood. Jenna didn't say anything, for fear that she would only make things worse. Instead, she seemed to edge backwards, slowly distancing herself from the unwanted conflict.
The Emolga glided down from Jenna's head and landed on the deck, her cheeks still crackling with charged electricity.
"Lumi!" called Jenna. It was the loudest she had been since boarding the ship. Even then is wasn't a shout.

Jikui glared at the two, now that he was looking at them closely, they did look like twins. "What's this? Are you trying to attack us?" Sukyi grinned, "If you want us to stop, then bow to me. If you don't..." he snapped his fingers. The Twins ordered their houndour to fire an ember at them. "Vulcan, counter with your own Ember attack!" Vulcan's back burned bright as she launched her own ember attack, countering the two houndour's. The blasts cancelled each other out, "Phew, are you guys crazy or something?! There are people on this ship, y'know!" Vulcan growled at the Houndour, and they growled in return.

Chris blinked and took a quick step back, noticing the ember attack. Once Jikui ordered his pokemon to counter it and keep it from reaching them he let out a sigh of relief.
"You know brute force isn't the best way to get someone to respect you. Telling them to kneel certainly doesn't help." He commented, crossing his arms and frowning slightly at the boys. Tora gave a nod of approval to Vulcan, standing next to her and wanting to be able to help out also if they tried anything else.

Fabio saw what was happening "can me and Kishi help?" He asked ready to protect his new friends "I'll be right here and if it gets out of hand I'll back you up" he had a complete additude change he went from a carefree goof to a very serious person ready to protect his friends. "Kishi get ready we might have to help…"

Lumi moved over to the other two Pokemon, extremely protective of her partner. Jenna found herself edging closer to Chris, as his calmer demeanor and way of dealing with the situation seemed to be the most logical way.

Jikui held up his hand, "Everybody stop! We can't fight here, there are too many people!" He pointed towards the corridor, "there's a small arena in the center of the ship, we can settle this there, alright?" He glared at the three, then walked into the corridor, towards the arena, with Vulcan following behind him. After awhile, the three thugs started to walk to the arena as well.
