Ferry Journey to Florasia Island

People seemed to be gathering in Vermilion City's harbor. Which of these people were getting on the ferry to Florasia island, Jennifer didn't know. The second letter she had received, after accepting her place at Epochire Academy, had detailed the date and time of the ferry's departure. The S.S Aqua, which was currently docked in the harbor, would be leaving soon and the S.S Elizabeth arriving. It was part of Jenna's nature to be rather early, just in case something held her up on the way there, but now she had a rather long wait.
Lumi was perched on Jenna's shoulder. The Emolga rubbed her cheek against the side of Jenna's face in a sign of affection. Jenna smiled. At least she wouldn't have to wait alone. Taking a seat on a nearby bench, Jenna dug through her bags to find her sketchbook. She figured she could indulge her love for drawing whilst she waited.

A half hour or so later, the S.S Elizabeth docked in the harbor and opened the entryway to let people on board. Tucking her sketchbook into her bag and taking out her ticket for the ferry, she headed towards the boat, Lumi gliding on ahead. Jenna handed the ticket to the man by the entryway before taking her things on board.
After being shown to her cabin, Jenna sat on the bed for a while, piling her stuff neatly in one corner. The journey would be a few hours long, so she hoped she'd find something interesting to do on the way to Florasia Island. Shrugging to herself, she stared out of the window and watched the far off waves. Maybe she'd meet some new friendly faces during the journey.

Even though the Owl Pokémon was passing through the inferno quickly, it still caused some damage. But Aion was far from giving up.
"Aion, use Hypnosis!", Adrian commanded.
"Hooo...", Aion replied, staring at the Cyndaquil intensely, while it's eyes began to glow in an eerie red.

Jikui's face quickly turned serious, "Vulcan, start spinning and use ember, but close your eyes!" Vulcan nodded and shut her eyes tight, negating the effects of the Hypnosis, "Cyndaaaa..quil!" She then stood on one leg and began to spin, shooting an ember attack while she did it, making the fire spin around her, protecting her from damage.

"Aion, prepare for Sky Attack, but don't launch it until it's gotten dizzy!"
"Hooo...", the Flying type exclaimed, again glowing brightly.
Although Hoothoot weren't extremely vulnerable against fire, that certainly didn't mean, that they were immune to it. Adrian would have to take out that threat as soon as possible.

Vulcan kept spinning, but her fire quickly died out as she got dizzy, Jikui frowned, "Damn, looks like that technique didn't work out very well...Vulcan, try to dodge his attack!" Vulcan tried to look around, but everything was spinning. "C-cynda..! (I-I can't...see!)" Jikui had to come up with something quickly, or else she was a clear target for that Sky Attack. "Vulcan, try using Smokescreen!" She quickly exhaled smoke, which was much more solid, as if she were vomiting, "Eew, Vulcan!" She blushed and stumbled a bit more in the sour-smelling smoke, "C-cynda.. (S-sorry..)"

As the Cyndaquil stopped spinning, Aion immediately began to execute the Sky Attack.
Despite her best efforts, the small amount of "smoke" she produced was not nearly enough to cause Aion to miss her target. After slamming into her target at full speed, Aion graciously landed again.

Vulcan was pushed back into a wall, hitting it at full force. "Cyndaaa..." She was at her limit, she would've thrown up but she had nothing left in her stomach. Jikui looked down, a shadow crossing his face, "Vulcan, we have one move left..." She stared at Jikui, was he really going to do this? He pointed at where the Hoothoot had landed, it was right around the corner of the room. "Vulcan, use ember to trap her on the spot!" Vulcan shot an ember, using all of her force, so a small wall of flames surrounded the Hoothoot. "Alright, now prepare your ultimate move!" She nodded, then her back flared up, this time her flames were turning white, and her body began to flicker in flames.

"Aion, fly up into the air, then use Hypnosis!", Adrian shouted and with a loud
"Hoot!", the Owl Pokémon complied, flying over the fiery wall.
Even though the Cyndaquil didn't seem to have much energy left, this attack looked quite dangerous and might have the potential to knock Aion out as well.

"Vulcan, quickly go!!" She had been waiting for this moment, so while Aion had been using Hypnosis, she jumped at the Hoothoot, using all of her energy left to rocket at the owl, the flames on her back helping her propel forwards. Halfway through, she began to feel drowsy, but still hit Aion full force, directly, falling asleep straight afterwards.

Being hit by the attack, Aion was bouncing through the entire arena before finally landing on the sleeping Cyndaquil and rolling off. Since both Pokémon didn't seem to be able to fight anymore, this seemed to have been it.
Picking up his knocked-out Hoothoot, Adrian complimented:
"That was a rather creative usage of propulsion effects I must say. An intersting fighting style indeed."

Jikui took a deep breath, and exhaled. "Thanks, I was honestly really nervous. I've never fought so hard in my life, you're really good! Too bad it ended in a draw, though. I guess we'll have to wait until we're more experienced to see who's better, eh?" He laughed a bit, picking up the sleeping Vulcan. He walked out of the arena, saying goodbye to Adrian, then walked up to his room and placed Vulcan on his bed. He then walked over to a desk in his room and took out his notebook, and made a note of the different combinations he had used in the battle. The spinning ember attack looked great, as did the smoke-bomb technique. After awhile of jotting down notes he dozed off.

Ed stretched and looked around then let out a sigh. "Rose why did you bring me over here anyway?" he then continued to look around and saw Emma and blushed again, he knew it he has a crush on her but why he wonder he just wanted to still ignore the feeling.

"Dammit Bob, stop running around!" Tyler yelled, his face red from a mixture of annoyance and exhaustion. "You don't wanna piss off the other guests, do you?!"
Electricity struck the ground right in front of him, but Tyler wasn't worried about that; thunder wave never missed, so the Electrike obviously wasn't aiming at him. He was just trying to threaten him, as was par for the course. "Seriously, dude, chill out!"
"Trike!" The Electrike made a satisfied grunt at his trainer before continuing his run through the ship.
