The Hunt is On!

So this was the Fallen Leaf Copse....the thing Sova had failed to find first. It was certainly beautiful enough to be a treasure, but the real treasure was within....somewhere. Perhaps it wasn't too late for him to be the one to find the treasure. Of course, having someone as enthusiastic about treasure as Mirage with him was sure to help as well.

"This looks like a nice place to live...." He said.

Mirage at least had the sense to not completely freak out and try to tear her paw free. Her leg was shaking, wait no her entire body was shaking. The trap clung to her paw as she remained frozen, unsure of what to do. How is she going to get out of this? Is she going to have to chew her paw off? Who even put this here in the first place!? Her eyes were wide as she stared at her bleeding paw, unsure of how to get herself out of this strange contraption.

Sova approached cautiously, worried of any other possible traps in the area. Who the hell was putting such dangerous traps around anyways? What in the world did they want to catch and why? "Calm down Mirage, calm down....I know it hurts a lot, but I'm gonna try to get it off for you, okay?" He said as he raised a paw to touch the trap. Maybe he could pry it open with brute force. He wasn't exactly the most physically strong pokemon in existenec, but just maybe, he could open the trap up just enough for the zorua's paw to slip off....

Mirage couldn't stop shaking, her paw hurt more than anything else, and she just wanted it to end. The trap had startled her so much she could only nod and just cling to the Glaceon's words like her life depended on it, which it somewhat did in the case that whatever made the trap had made it with the intention of devouring what was in it. She waited...still shaking and unable to stop shaking. The trap clung to her paw like a hungry ursaring to a combee hive, and would have probably growled at any near it if it had been alive and capable of speech or voice.

"Try not to move...." Sova said as he placed a paw on the trap to steady it as much as possible, hoping to avoid damaging Mirage's paw any further. He then placed his other front paw on the trap and began pulling the "jaws" of the trap apart, not really seeming to do any good. He paused for a moment. "I don't think I'll be able to get it all the way open. I'll open it as far as I can, if you think you can pull your paw out, try to." He said before taking a deep breath and pushing against the two jaws of the trap again, with all his might.

The trap opened, and Mirage was able to slip her paw out with ease. She was still shaking, but it had toned down massively on the shaking. Her paw was still bleeding, she began to lick it feverishly, trying to clean it seeing as they had no real medication for this type of injury at the moment.
"Thanks.." Mirage started, but feelings once again conflicted with her as she told herself that she shouldn't be thanking him. She should be here, she shouldn't be helping him. She told the small voice to shut up, and leave her be at least for now, and it did.

The second Mirage's paw was free from the trap, Sova released it and lifted his paws away from it, careful not to have it snap back shut on him. He then directed his attention to the injured zorua; specifically, her paw. "No thanks needed....it's what friends do." He said with a slight smile.

"If you're worried about the bleeding, I could freeze the wound." He suggested. It wasn't quite apparent to him that perhaps freezing the wound on Mirage's paw would be painful, or that it could do more harm than good. He never claimed to be a doctor, though.

"I-I don't think that's a good idea," Mirage spoke, her paw retreating from Sova in the case that he decided to do it anyways. She didn't like the idea of lumping a cube of ice around on her foot, there was also the thing about killing the cells, and maybe losing the use of her foot because of the freezing. She examined her foot, "Uh...maybe some clean lively leaves? Ones that wont crumple as soon as I take a step? I can use my Joy Ribbon to keep it wrapped around the paw..."

Sova shrugged at the Mirage's unwillingless to freeze her paw. Perhaps it just seemed like a good idea to him because his body would be able to handle something like that, but in hindsight, it probably WASN'T a very good idea. But he needed to do something to help. The leaf idea seemed good enough, but there was no need for Mirage to get her useful ribbon filthy with blood....

"No no, there's no need for that, you'll get your ribbon covered in blood...." He paused and tugged one of the accessories around his neck, his blue Explorer ribbon, off. He then held it in his paw and dropped it near Mirage. "Use mine." He insisted and ran off to retrieve some leaves before Mirage could protest. He stopped at a large tree with green leaves that seemed perfect. Of course, he couldn't easily get the ones off the tree, so he settled for collecting some of the greener ones from the ground that had recently fallen, placing them in his bag so he could carry them.

He ran back to Mirage as quickly as he could and began carefully taking the leaves out of his bag, making sure not to damage any of them. "How're these? I can get different ones if you want."

Mirage paused for a moment, look at the ribbon then to Sova, "Some more?" she asked, this time performing more of an experiment than a legitimate request. He seemed to be acting rather strange as of late, for example, agreeing to everything she said and fulfilling her every request. She wondered if it was just coincidence, her noticing something normal, or something else, and the only way for her to know for sure was to test it out and see how the conditions influence the result. Her paw was hurt, but it had stopped throbbing and was a bearable enough for her to focus on other things to distract her from the pain.

Sova tilted his head in confusion at why Mirage would need more leaves, but complied. "Uuh....okay. Be back in a moment." He said as he ran off to collect more leaves. Quickly collecting about as many as he had the last time. She hadn't asked for different leaves, just more, so he figured gathering the same type as last time would work fine. He returned as quickly as he could, unloading the leaves the same as last time. "Is this enough?" He asked.

"More," she spoke again, wondering how far the Glaceon would go in collecting leaves. Before she had spoken, she had looked at the leaves and pretended to consider them. She did not know of the Glaceon's feelings towards her, and did not know of being loved was a possible thing, but she did however notice that perhaps Sova's feelings were a bit more than what they seemed and he claimed. She waited, wondering if he would either obey, get upset, or ask her to try this much and see if it worked before going to get more.

Sova looked at the leaves, then at Mirage. It seemed to him like he already had enough.... But there was no harm in getting more. It wasn't like it was tasking work or anything and he wasn't the one with the bleeding paw. "Alright....but you should start patching your paw up, don't want it to get infected. Or you could wait till I get back, if you need help." He said before going off to get more leaves. This time he collected twice as many as the previous time, hoping to not have to make any more trips. He return and tipped his bag over, brushing the leaves out with a paw. It was far easier than the way he had previously been doing it.

Mirage nodded, deciding that was enough toying with the slave. She began to coat her paw in the leaves and wrapped the ribbon around using her teeth to help her make a knot tight enough to keep the leaves in check and catch any bleeding, along with hopefully stopping it. She stood up, a majority of the leaves still left unused, "Guess I didn't need that much after all, sorry," she spoke. She kept her injured leg in the air, not wanting to put pressure on it and instead would just hobble along on three legs. This, however, would likely become a burden later on if they were to fight.

Sova sighed and hanged his head for a moment at all of the wasted leaves. All of the wasted effort. Hopefully Mirage at least appreciated the effort. "It's....okay, as long as you're okay. That's all that matters." He began walking in the direction they had been going before the mini-apocalypse happened, but stopped. "Oh, are you alright to walk? Do you uuuuh....wanna lean on me? Or do you need carried?" He offered, hoping to ease Mirage's time walking. He knew from a particular recent bite that walking on three legs wasn't very fun....

"Nope, I'm fine thanks," Mirage spoke, limping past him with no hesitation. She had declared it official, the Glaceon thought of her as something more than a friend, unless the pokemon in this area had some rather weird custom that she was not acquainted to by now for some odd reason. That small defiant voice in the back of her mind ranted on to her, she was being too dependent. She was being too nice. If this continued she was going to die. Just look at all the bad stuff happening around him when you're with him. She didn't want to die...did she?
