Ferry Journey to Florasia Island

People seemed to be gathering in Vermilion City's harbor. Which of these people were getting on the ferry to Florasia island, Jennifer didn't know. The second letter she had received, after accepting her place at Epochire Academy, had detailed the date and time of the ferry's departure. The S.S Aqua, which was currently docked in the harbor, would be leaving soon and the S.S Elizabeth arriving. It was part of Jenna's nature to be rather early, just in case something held her up on the way there, but now she had a rather long wait.
Lumi was perched on Jenna's shoulder. The Emolga rubbed her cheek against the side of Jenna's face in a sign of affection. Jenna smiled. At least she wouldn't have to wait alone. Taking a seat on a nearby bench, Jenna dug through her bags to find her sketchbook. She figured she could indulge her love for drawing whilst she waited.

A half hour or so later, the S.S Elizabeth docked in the harbor and opened the entryway to let people on board. Tucking her sketchbook into her bag and taking out her ticket for the ferry, she headed towards the boat, Lumi gliding on ahead. Jenna handed the ticket to the man by the entryway before taking her things on board.
After being shown to her cabin, Jenna sat on the bed for a while, piling her stuff neatly in one corner. The journey would be a few hours long, so she hoped she'd find something interesting to do on the way to Florasia Island. Shrugging to herself, she stared out of the window and watched the far off waves. Maybe she'd meet some new friendly faces during the journey.

Not noticing Eliot enter, Chris continued to focus on the battle, taking note of what Jikui had said. Probably planning something with fire, might not do too much to any of them. Should have time for one more attack before getting out of dodge. He quickly decided.
"Tora, go for another tackle and get out of the way!" He called out. Tora dashed forward at the Houndour, tackling it once again before continuing to move out of range of the oncoming attack most likely coming.

"Alright, it's not broken. Good, good. Dear Arceus, if you actually broke this, Bob, I don't know what I'd do. We've only got two with us, you know?" Tyler made a not-so-exaggerated sigh and picked up his PSP while the electrike simply stared down at his own. "Alright, back to the game."
The duo went back to playing Metal Slug Three together, and were currently decimating hordes of zombies by puking blood at them. Mutters of "Crap," "Damn," and "Trike," occasionally brought noise to the otherwise silent room (the speakers having long since been destroyed), and though it may have seemed boring to a spectator, it was extremely exciting and tense to the players themselves.
And then Bob's static got the better of him, frying his PSP inside out.

"You're kidding me." Tyler stared incredulously at his Electrike, not bothering to look at the disconnected screen on his PSP.
"Elec," Bob muttered apologetically, subconsciously rubbing his left forepaw along the ground.
Tyler looked from Bob to Bob's PSP and back again before sighing in resignation. "You need to get a little bit of Target practice anyway."

And that is how Tyler ended up out of his room, throwing both the destroyed PSP and his intact one out to sea, then watching his Electrike thunder wave them both before they hit the water.

Anthony had boarded the S.S. Elizabeth a little over an hour ago. Since then, he had been hanging around his room, trying to find something to do. Currently he was lying on the cabin's bed, casually tossing playing cards into the air. It was a game he was playing with Wolf. He would throw one up and she would try and catch the card before it hit the ground. He and Wolf were doing this in an attempt to improve her speed, but it hadn't been very useful so far. "I think that's enough for now. Want to go outside for some fresh air, Wolf?" Wolf nodded, then flew over to Anthony, landing on his shoulder. He opened the door, then stepped out, heading to the deck of the ship.

Jikumo looked over at Jenna, "Sorry about this, but we need to end this before it gets worse." He pointed over at the middle of the fog, where it was most dense, "Vulcan, use Flare Blitz!" Vulcan, who had been waiting for this moment, jumped at the fog, bursting into blue flames. Lumi had fallen asleep from the Hypnosis, and was stuck in the smokescreen. The Poliwag was hurt, still paralyzed, and the Houndours were running around, blindly trying to bite everything. When Vulcan hit the fog, a small explosion shook the boat, and blew away the five pokemon. The Houndours and Poliwag were knocked out, and Lumi and Vulcan were thrown into a wall. Luckily the arena's padding protected the ship from harm.

Jenna glared at Jikui as she realised how powerful of a move he was trying to use. He was being stupidly reckless and with a team member still stuck inside. Her angrily piercing stare let up only when the explosion subsided, where she ran over to Lumi and gathered her into her arms. She walked back over, finally voicing her opinions.
"That was incredibly stupid. Did you not realise that the Pokemon, or even the people here could have gotten seriously hurt by that explosion." The anger showed in her sienna eyes, though she didn't act upon it. Rather than giving him a chance to even explain his actions, she turned and left the arena. If there was one thing she didn't like, it was people who didn't seem to care about the consequences of their actions. Recklessly endangering an ally like that got her riled up, especially considering the fact that Lumi had been her closest friend for so long and he had pretty much written the Emolga off as unneeded. That, by far, was worse than anything those three bullies could have done to her.

Concern had rid her of her anger as she left the arena and returned to the upper deck. Standing out in the fresh air, she let the salty see breeze wash over her for a minute before she headed back down, aiming for her cabin. She had packed a few berries from the forest to bring with her and had planned to grow them in pots at the academy, but she could use a few of them to help her friend.
Lumi remained in Jenna's arms, nuzzling up to her partner's chest. There was black from the explosion all in the Emolga's fur and Jenna ran her fingers down the EleSquirrel's back, soothing her and ridding the fur of the ash and dust.

Chris' eyes widened as Jikui ordered the move to be used. He had expected something big, but he hadn't expected that much power to be put behind it. He's making the smart choice to win in the battle. Of course, sometimes moral choices have to beat the logical decision. There was still Jenna's pokemon in there. He thought to himself. Luckily Tora hadn't been as close to the mini explosion as the others had been, but she still had received some slight damage from the blast, sending her back a few feet. Chris ran over to her and knelt down next to the shinx, watching her get back up.
"Hey, you alright?" He asked, smiling as she seemed to be fine, responding in a cheerful manner. With that confirmation, he stood up and started to walk out of the deck, followed by Tora.
"It was a smart decision, but I think you went a bit too far." He told Jikui as he passed by, heading up to the deck.

Jikumo bowed his head, he didn't expect the explosion to be that large. It was his first time using that technique, he had come up with it in the middle of the battle, and hadn't exactly thought about it. "S-sorry everyone..." He knew no one could hear him. He went to pick up Vulcan, then walked out of the arena, leaving the three bullies to run away with their pokemon in their arms, "We'll get you for this!!" He walked up to the deck and started to wipe the soot off of Vulcan's fur, "Sorry pal, I didn't know you would get hurt as well...I shouldn't have even...fought those guys.." His eyes started to tear up, but Vulcan stood up and wiped the tears from his eyes, "Cynda cyndaquil. (Don't worry, you did what you thought was right.)" He smiled at Vulcan, she always knew how to cheer him up. "Still...I should go apologize to Lumi and Jenna." He got up and headed over to them, planning to apologize

Anthony was walking along the side of the boat, still heading for the upper deck. Wolf was flying alongside the boat, swooping in between the guardrails every once and a while. He wasn't really paying attention to what was in front of him, instead thinking of Epochire Academy and what would happen when they arrived. A sound finally broke this train of thoughts and he recognized it as footsteps. Looking up, he saw a girl around his age walking in his direction, an injured Emolga in her hands. Jeez, her Emolga looks likes it's hurt really bad. Clearing his throat, he asked her, "Excuse me miss, is your Emolga okay? She looks like she's injured pretty bad."

Jenna blinked and paused as she heard Anthony speaking to her.
"She will be with some rest," she replied quietly, dusting another speck of ash out of Lumi's fur, "I need to fetch some berries from my room..."
Jenna was about to get moving again when Jikui approached her.

Jikui stopped and looked down when he saw Jenna. He was about to hide when Vulcan burned his bottom. "Ok! Ok, ok I'm going, jeez, Vulcan..." he walked up to Jenna and Lumi. "I-I'm sorry about hurting you, Lumi...I had no idea that that would happen. I really was just trying to help..." he blushed and turned his face down. 'Gah...I doubt she'll ever forgive me.' Vulcan walked up to Lumi and smiled, "Cynda Cyndaquil! (Sorry about that, Jikui is stupid sometimes!)"

Elliot sighed after watching what had unfolded. He leaned against the railing. If the school was anything like this, he'd never be bored. He'd see alot of bad, stuff, too, though. He sighed, waiting for the ship to get to it's destination.

"Emolga," cried Lumi. It was less filled with energy than before due to the damage sustained by being in the explosion, but she accompanied it with a small smile, implying that she forgave Jikui. Jenna's gaze wasn't as harsh now that she had been given a little time to cool off, though she wanted to treat Lumi's burns as soon as possible with some rawst berries.
"Would you like some Oran berries to help Vulcan recover?" She asked quietly concerned not only for Lumi but the other Pokemon affected by the explosion. She also fully intended to track down their opponents in a short while to see if their Pokemon needed any help.

Jikumo stared wide-eyed at Jenna, "S-sure...thanks, Jenna..." He looked over to the side and saw the three thugs coming around the corner. They smirked when they saw Jenna and Jikui's pokemon hurt and unable to fight, "Ahahaha, what's the matter? A little romance trouble?" Sukyi grinned. Jikui glared at the three idiots, "C'mon, we had a deal, you were supposed to leave us alone, remember?" Sukyi grinned wider, "You never made me sign anything, did you? So I'm afraid it's not binding, my lawyer said so himself." Jikui walked right up to the guy, and grabbed him by the cuff of his shirt, "Just leave us alone, would you? You've already caus-" He was cut off by a punch in the face by one of the thugs. Sukyi laughed and walked away, his pokemon seemed completely unharmed, since he probably used his money to buy medical supplies.

"Are you alright?" asked Jenna quietly as the three thugs walked away. She was pretty good when it came to treating pokemon, but for humans, she hadn't the foggiest.

"I'll get you those berries... and then we can find some ice or something for that..." she blinked after waiting for Jikui's reply.
Motioning for Jikui to follow her, Jenna turned and started heading down to where her room was. She had completely ignored the three bullies as they walked away, her concern for her Pokemon and Jikui overriding her urge to teach them that their actions were wrong.

Upon reaching her room, she picked two oran berries out of her assortment and handed them to Jikui. She then found herself a few rawst berries, giving one to Lumi to eat and beginning to crush the other into an ornamental bowl that had been on the table in her room. Tucking a sitrus berry and two more oran berries into her pocket, she took the bowl of crushed rawst berry and gathered Lumi back into her arms. She wanted to make sure that Jikui's injury wasn't left untreated, even if it meant finishing her treatment of Lumi's wounds a little later.

Jikui blushed, "I-I'm fine." He followed Jenna to her room, then looked around, holding his bleeding nose. Vulcan was on his shoulder, sleeping heavily after a snack of oran berries. He pet Vulcan with his free hand, and she purred like a cat. He smiled a bit then yelped in pain, his nose streaming fresh blood. "H-hey, you wouldn't happen to have a tissue, would you?" he looked at Jenna, and thought about how cute she looked when she was angry at him- Whoa, what was he thinking? He blushed and turned his attention to Vulcan. She seemed to have recovered from the explosion.
