Shattered Ruins

Jak {8} ^{-15 from entry}


Jak and Noel venture deeper into the cave to visit the ruins. One could only describe the placed as having all the rocks shattered there. The ruins where quite large. Jak had never expected something this big to be in a place like this. One thing he noticed is that the ruins had a silver glow in certain spots from bits of light coming through some unknown place. It seemed it might be reflected from someplace in the tunnels. 

"This place... Feels hostile..." Jak said as he shivered slightly.
He turned towards Noel seeing if there was an explanation to this...

He then looked towards one of the tablets near him that seemed to be split in two.
It was in footprint runes and in unknown symbols.

Description of why pieces are unreadable:

It reads: "Behold, Silent Temple. May those who ~Unreadable~ Disturb those ~Unreadable~ Beware..."

Jak stared at it trying to interpret the rest of the message.
He looked to Noel to see if she could understand the damaged bits.

Jak heard Noel's voice return back as he had asked if she was alright up there. Turns out she was fine but she actually had asked the same question.

^{Back to the point Jak had a sableye walking towards him with the two sticks and a vine.}
Jak realized he had not responded back to Noel's question and quickly shouts up. "I am fine" then said in a normal voice "I think..."

He sat there waiting to see what the sableye was going to do. He felt he would have a nasty landing if he attempted to jump down or even roll down off the wall's edge.
He did not feel too worried as it had shown no signs of hostility yet. It then stopped about a couple feet away from him. "You... You're hurt." it said in a soft voice. It sounded a little bit afraid. Jak was relieved it was not going to attack him.

"Err... Yes I am...." He said looking at his leg. It now had a really heavy bruise. He then sighed.
"What do you want to do with those..." He questioned the sableye.

"Help. I help." It was clear that the sableye has not spoken to others in a long time. It's speech was somewhat fragmented.

Jak nodded. The sableye was no longer afraid and walked up and put the sticks on the sides of his leg. "This hurt." it said as it tied the vine around the two stick. Using it as a splint. ^{Note: His leg is not broken but the sableye wanted to make sure it did not get injured any more. Sort of like a makeshift cast... Or a supportive boot.}

As the sableye tightened the vine Jak winced at the pain. "Up." the sableye said as it jumped down from the wall. Jak only sighed. He went to stand up and surprisingly what the sableye did helped quite a bit, even though it did limit some movement. It helped a lot to stand on his leg. Jak thanked the sableye. "Thanks."

The sableye took a moment then nodded. "You fall far..." he pointed up at the ceiling where the hole was...

Noel sits on her arse and thinks for a bit on how to get him out of there. She then slapped herself remembering she had psychic and stood up but then remembered she could barely get herself a few feet off the ground so she looks around and sees a boulder sitting there and focuses her power on it as a blue glow surrounds it.

She slowly lowers it down "watch out" she said as she tried to set it on the ground without crushing Jak in the process.

As Jak had gotten up and worked his way off the wall. It turned out the wall was not too high off the ground to lower himself down. He only fell a few feet down after hanging off the edge.

"Watch Out" A voice from above shouted down. It was Noel's voice. Jak took a moment to think what she meant by that as he looked up. 'She didn't...' he thought to himself.

Not to much longer after that he saw a blue glow around a large boulder coming down slowly. It started to flicker with energy and then it suddenly dropped out of the air. "Oh sna--" Jak went to shout as he jumped out of the way with the sableye next to him. The boulder crashed on top of the wall they were previously on and smashed it. It was large enough to have actually reach them if they stayed there.

After getting out of the way with the sableye next to him. "Who that." the sableye said with a shocked expression on its face. "A friend" Jak said in response.

The sableye was not entirely convinced since the giant boulder almost crushed them.
"Its alright." Jak said again to the sableye. It stood still staring at the hole in the ceiling.

"What is this boulder for." Jak shouted up to Noel.

Coaster carried out 1 launched of one Monochrome Ruins :

Noel looks down as she yells. "Get on the rock" she had a idea, she was going to pull him up using the rock so they'd be able to get up easy. She didn't trust her power to hold out but with the rock she felt like it would be easier then just pulling him out at least she felt so. She waits for Jak to give a clear on this because she didn't want to waste all of her energy jus pulling up the rock.

Jak heard Noel shout to jump onto the boulder. 'What the heck is she thinking. She wound up dropping it earlier! Did she not feel it?' Jak thought.
Jak looks towards the sableye. "Can you help me up?" He then asked it.
The sableye looked at him and then the boulder and back a couple times.
"Not safe..." It said.
Jak thought he understood what it meant. "Please. I will be fine. I need to get back to my friend." Jak said. The sableye looked at him again then jumped up onto the boulder and helped him onto it.

"Ready!" He shouted up. "Just be ready to jump to safety if it stops glowing." Jak said to the sableye.
He figured that was the earliest warning they would get if Noel failed to pull them up.

Jak waited to see if the rock would move.

Noel looks down as she builds her energy up and focuses her energy in front of her and feels the boulder slowly pick up. She holds it for a second before trying to lift it up and it hurt a lot. She started shaking as she pulled it up not used to lifting things with her mind. She keeps going until she lifts the Rock out of the hole and back to the place she had taken it from then she fell to the ground.

She started breathing hard as she looked up to make sure Jak was still there.

Jak and the sableye was lifted out of the hole on the rock. The light was flickering slightly around the rock. He hoped that Noel was alright up there.

Once they got out of the hole and the rock landed next to the hole. Jak saw something he did not want to see. Noel had collapsed from the energy usage. She looked at Jak and he ran to her. "Are you alright!" he was very worried about Noel. As he ran to Noel he realized he did not have his bag. He looked into the hole with a slightly worried look. Then back at noel. The sableye walked up and tapped his shoulder. Jak turned around and saw his bag. Jak was surprised to see the bag. He did not notice the sableye holding it at all. Jak hugged it and quickly went searching for something in his bag.

"You shouldn't have done that... Look at you. You used soo much of your energy. You collapsed." he said to Noel as he searched his bag for something of use. The sableye kept its distance from Noel.

The sableye then walked over to him and handed him a seed. It was a reviver seed. ^{Note: This was found earlier a couple post back just now showing up. It was part of an encounter that used the energy loss in this post.}

Noel gets in her knee as she pushes herself back up and stands up looking around before she falls back to her knee. "I'm fine really I am just give me a second" she said as she breathed in and out hard and stood up once again. "I'm fine now don't worry" she said with a smirk as she did a back flip to show she was alright she landed with a smirk and opened her arms. "Ta-da" she says with a laugh.

Jak was a bit surprised to see Noel flip backwards. 'H---how.. did she....'... Jak was confused at that.

He figured psychic energy was a bit different from physical energy. He had no clue though.
Jak just let it slide for now. He looked at the reviver seed. "I can keep this?" He said to the sableye.
It nodded and decided it was time to go. "Wait... Where are you going?" Jak asked. It did not really pay too much attention. Jak wondered why it had helped him and then given him the seed.

He even wondered if noel noticed the sableye as it came up. He figured she might have missed it sense she was focusing on the rock then. That had to have been very taxing...


^{Note:My logic here is that psychic energy has its own form of energy but when it gets low it shows up as physical energy to the user. Making them feel weak. Once the connection is severed. They will feel there energy quickly return to them. Thus its more the mind stating they are tired then ones body...}

Noel looks at the Pokemon as it walks away wondering where it had come from. She assumed it was in the hole with Jak but how and why was it in a hole she didn't sense any other Pokemon around them when it collapsed. Maybe the hole had another way and he was helping Jak. She hoped that's what that was so she could stop feeling bad about feral Pokemon.

"Let's go" she said as she turned around and started walking.

Jak watched the pokemon leave. Still pondering why it would leave after helping him...
He then heard Noel say "Let's go."

He turned towards noel and followed her. As they walked he continued to think about that pokemon. The thought just could not be left alone. 'What was the purpose...' Jak thought to himself.

He turned around expecting to see the sableye... It wasn't there. It was long gone... He looked at the leg he had sprained. It still had a heavy bruise on the spot he could see through the makeshift brace.

Noel looked down at Jak and saw the brace that was made. She looks at him and then back to where the Pokemon had left. "Did he help you with that?" She asked as she then stopped walking. "Maybe you should rest for a bit" she said slightly worried for the charmander walking on a hurt leg was bad and she knew that first hand.

She looks around and spotted a collapsed wall that looks like a chair? Weird as she walked over. "Come on over here" she said walking towards it.

As Jak looked at the brace. Noel asked if he helped with that. Jak nodded yes. "Yea..." He said still with the pokemon on his mind. Noel then stated that he should rest for a bit. He did not want to argue about it and instead just listened to Noel. Noel spotted a collapsed wall that resembled a chair. She told him to come over there.

He followed Noel and noticed a box on the ground. "What is this?" he asked as he picked up the box.

Jak was somewhat out in space in thought. Although he didn't seem like that other then him being a bit more quiet then usual.

Noel walks over and leans on the wall like she was known for and closed her eyes waiting for Jak to say he was done resting. She did hear him ask she something so she opened one of her eye's and looked at the box. "It's a link box, not sure how but it let's certain Pokemon evolve." She says as she closes her eye's again.

She wondered how they were gonna get out the exit they came through was now blocked and she saw no other way but down. She hoped they'd find a way or else.

Jak {13}
Jak heard noel state its used for evolving... "Interesting." He put the item in his bag. He then sat down on the wall. The part that looked like a chair. "This used to be a chair?" he asked. He knew that it was a silly question. He felt he needed to say something to break the awkward silence in the air.

He looked at his brace and then back in the distance. Still wondering why... Why it would help him.
"You said earlier not all ferals are bad... You are right..." Jak said quietly.
He lifted his leg up slightly showing the brace.
