Sinnoh Journey RP

A loud cry of 'Murkrow Murkrow!' shattered the morning's silence and a pale young girl rolled over in her bed, tangling herself in her duvet. When the cries didn't stop, she sat up, her short, golden-blonde hair a scraggly mess. She turned to see her Murkrow friend, perched on the windowsill. The Darkness Pokemon was stood half in and half out of the window, watching Raine as she got to her feet. Satisfied that her friend and soon-to-be trainer was fully awake, the Murkrow fluttered out of the bedroom window. Raine watched her leave before going to shower and get changed out of her pyjamas. She picked out a pair of pale blue, three quarter length leggings and a long, lavender coloured shirt. The shirt had short sleeves and splayed out just slightly past her waist.

A short while later, Raine wandered downstairs, brushing her hair as she headed into the kitchen. An older female was stood washing up the dirty dishes and cups that had been left next to the sink.
"Hey mom," smiled Raine, grabbing herself a bowl from the cupboard and a spoon from the draw next to the sink.
"Morning darling!" replied Amaya as she put the last dish on the draining rack and dried her hands on a tea towel.
"Are you excited for your journey?" she asked as Raine sat down at the table to eat her cereal. The young girl nodded as she began wolfing down her breakfast. Just then, the same Murkrow from before fluttered through the kitchen window, landing on the dining table with a caw.
Amaya chuckled and reached into the cupboard where the poffins were stored. Raine had made these poffins specifically for Nightshade the night before so that she could take them with her on her journey. The trainer-to-be realised that she would likely have to make new recipes for any other Pokemon that joined her team, but she didn't mind. She liked cooking them after all.

When Raine finished her breakfast and Nightshade finished one of the Poffins, Raine wandered into the living room. On the coffee table was the bag she had packed before she had gone to bed. The bag itself was blue, darker than her leggings but just lighter than the sky on a bright, sunny day. Inside was a sleeping bag and pyjamas, along with changes of clothes and other essentials. It was almost as if the bag was bigger on the inside, fitting a ridiculous amount of things inside of it and still having room for more. Raine grabbed the Poffins from the kitchen and packed those in a small Tupperware box. Along with a pouch of various berries from her mother's garden, they were put in their own Pocket. Raine made sure that she also had her purse in one of the inside pockets, counting the money to make sure it was all there. She made a mental note to make sure she didn't spend too much.

When she was finally satisfied that she had packed everything, including a coat for if it got cold, Raine left the house. Her mother insisted on hugging her before a quick exchange of "Bye!" and "Good luck!"
"And don't forget to give your father his lunch!" chuckled Amaya, waving to her daughter as she made her way down the street.
"I won't! Bye mom!" she replied, and soon Raine was on the road, heading out of Eterna City and towards Floaroma Town.

(Wist, if you wanna do a post sorta like this for your character, then we can map out their individual travels before they meet up on Route 205! ^^)

"Er, right," John said. It would be better if they went up different staircases. Just in case something like that did happen. The stairs led up to some sort of landing. There was a door to the left and right of the landing, and a door that was in the middle of the two staircases, like the entrance below it. John walked over to the door in the center of the staircases and looked in it. Inside the door was a hallway with five doors against the wall he was facing. One in the middle, and two to the sides. "Raine, there's a hall over here. I think one of us should take a way. I mean, one of us goes left, and one of us goes right," John said, looking back at Raine.

Raine turned and headed up the other staircase, meeting John in the middle again without any mishap. Nightshade fluttered back over to her but stayed hovering in the air. The flap of her wings broke what would have been silence before John spoke.

"Okay... I'll take left then?" she suggested, blinking. The floorboards on the upper layer seemed to creak under her feet as she shifted her weight between them.

"Sounds like a plan," John said. "I'll check this door first though," John said, pointing to the doorway in front of them. "Rast, watch my back, okay?" He asked Rast. Rast nodded, and continued watching the halls. With Rast's nod, John swung open the door, quickly scanning the room. There wasn't much else but piles of books, a broken wardrobe, and disappointment. "Nothin' here," John stated for Rast to hear. "Next room," John muttered. They were getting close. Just a few more rooms and John would catch his thief. Hopefully.

Raine watched as John checked the room in front of them. It didn't take him long to scan the room, but Raine had turned and headed down the left side of the hallway with Nightshade and Ryuzi. It was an eerie little corridor, but even more so when it was dark. During the day it wasn't nearly as bad.
When Raine reached her first room, she opened the door, knowing what to expect from it's contents, but hoping to find John's pack, or at least the culprit, inside as well.
Unfortunately it was not to be. As always, the broken old television lay smashed on the floor and the wooden stand it used to sit on, collapsing in on itself due to rot and water damage.
There were small piles of books here too, though these never seemed to be in the same place twice. Raine always assumed that the Pokemon would knock them around at night.

John attempted to open the second door. But, when he attempted to turn the doorknob, it wouldn't budge. John continued to try and twist the doorknob open, but with no success. "Stupid door, Rast can you give me some help with this-" John was saying, until Rast pushed him out of the way. Rast then smacked the doorknob off with a Night Slash. John, without the trouble of doorknobs, pushed the door easily open. That's when things went wrong.

Something rushed out, ramming into John and knocking him down. John crashed onto the rickety floor, almost knocking Rast over in the process. Rast was fast enough to get out of the way of John, and the something. Considering he was still standing, he had the chance to identify what it was. It was purple, a Haunter. A Haunter had rushed out of the door and knocked John down. And not-so-suprisingly, with the backpack in hand.

Rast rushed after the Haunter. No way is the thief getting away now. He hopped of John, and dove into the Haunter. Sadly, with the Haunter being ghost type, it didn't effect it. But, the backpack wasn't ghost type. Rast knocked the backpack out of the Haunter's hands, sliding across the wooden floor. This didn't make the Haunter happy, and it retaliated with Night Shade. The attack knocked Rast back a bit, almost tumbling over yet again.

John was still lying on the floor, slightly dazed at what was going on. It was all in such a rush. One second something knocked him down, the next Rast hopping over him. John look to see what had knocked him down, and also discovered it to be a Haunter. He began to unsteadily get up, calling out, "Raine! Over here!"

Raine wandered out of her first room and gently pushed the door of the second open. This room was full of old furniture and had plenty of places for someone, or something to hide. Ryuzi hopped off of Raine's shoulder to explore, diving under an old wooden bed that was shoved in the corner of the room.
"Stay close, Ryuzi." Raine didn't want the energetic Pachirisu to get stuck behind one of the upturned bookcases or something.

"Raine! Over here!"
She heard John's shout and turned, rushing out of the room. Luckily Ryuzi quickly followed and Nightshade flew behind him, keeping him heading in the right direction. Raine stopped when she saw the Haunter and quickly looked through her options.
"Ryuzi!" she turned to the young Pachirisu, "Use Spark!"

Raine remembered the move from her battle with the EleSquirrel Pokemon. His cheeks once again crackled and he leaped at the Haunter, his body now cloaked with the blue coloured electricity.

The Haunter was caught of guard by the Pachirisu. The Haunter surely thought he could beat Rast & John, but now the EleSquirrel had to become an inconvenience. Ryuzi slammed into the Haunter, cloaked in electricity. It pushed the Haunter back a bit, until the Haunter threw the EleSquirrel back from where it leaped to attack. The Hauter needed to focus on one foe at a time, rather than chipping away at two. The Haunter pointed it's finger at the EleSquirrel, casting a Confuse Ray in it's direction.

John eventually got onto his feet, ready for battle. He hoped this would have ended more easily, preferably without a fight, but if the Haunter wanted to fight, so be it. "Rast, Night Slash," John commanded. Rast did as instructed, slashing at the Haunter with a dark energy. The Haunter easily dodged it, by floating up into the ceiling. Rast waited for the Haunter to come back down, but to his surprise the Haunter came from the floor, using a Night Shade right after appearing. The Night Shade hit Rast hard, but he managed to stand strong.

The young Pachirisu tumbled backwards, rolling across the ground until he landed on his stomach. Ryuzi quickly got back up but before Raine could call out another command, the Pachirisu was staring at the little ray of light. He watched it as it swirled around him, confusing him.

Rain picked up Ryuzi before he could hurt himself, returning him to his Pokeball before she chose her next move.
"Confuse Ray, Nightshade!"

The Murkrow sent her own spherical ray of light in the Haunter's direction, hoping to disorientate it and give it a taste of it's own medicine.

The Haunter was mostly paying attention to the Herracross, until he heard the other human spout out a command to it's pokemon. But the pokemon was different, a Murkrow to be exact. The Murkrow quickly let out a small light that spun around the Haunter. The Haunter followed the light, until the light made the Haunter dizzy. The Haunter groaned, and grabbed at it's head, wishing for the confusion to stop.

This was their chance. "Nice work Raine! Get the backpack, I have an idea!" John called out. "Rast, one last Night Slash!" He said to Rast. Rast again charged his claws with the dark energy. This time, it was a direct hit. The Night Slash knocked the Haunter back. The Haunter attempted to retaliate, but only injured it's self in the process. This angered the Haunter, and it let out a scream.

Raine nodded to John and quickly dashed for the backpack. She scooped it up into her arms before backing up, in case the Haunter managed to gather it's senses to attack once again. Raine clasped her hands over her ears as the Haunter let out a piercing scream.

Nightshade winced too, not liking the sudden harsh noise but soon shook her head, recovering and keeping an eye on the Ghost type.

"In the backpack! There's a pokeball in there!" John called out. He was juggling between talking to Raine, and calling out commands to Rast. The Haunter was putting up quite the fight. John wasn't sure if Rast, and Nightshade, could keep going on like this. He needed to end the battle quickly, and an easy way of doing so would be catching the Haunter. "Rast, one last Nightslash!" John called out. Rast smacked the Haunter about with the dark energy in his claws. The Haunter let out a Night Shade, hitting Rast yet again. Night Shade was an especially dangerous move, as the higher the pokemon's level, the more damage it does. Luckily, the Haunter doesn't seem to be too high in levels for it to seriously injure Rast.

"Nightshade, Peck!" called Raine before opening the backpack and looking for the Pokeball.
The Murkrow meanwhile tucked in her wings and dive bombed the still confused Haunter. Her beak was glowing a pale white colour as it was strengthened by the use of the move.

"I found it!" Raine exclaimed suddenly, holding the Pokeball up. She didn't know whether he wanted to throw it personally or not and so didn't throw it herself.

The bird smashed into the Haunter with it's beak, hitting it against the floor. Usually Haunter would have just phased through it, but in its confused state, it couldn't. The floor heavily creaked when the Haunter and Nightshade slammed into it. And it sure did do some damage to the Haunter as well. It let out a moan of pain, frustration, and confusion. It used a Night Shade on Nightshade ((See what I did there?)) in it's pain, frustration, and confusion.

"Just throw the pokeball at it! Quickly, while it's still confused!" John called out to Raine. One way or another, they were going to beat this Haunter.

Nightshade landed gently on the ground, diving out of the way of the move.(Not sure how it even looks so yea >.<)

Raine nodded and quickly threw the Pokeball at the Haunter. It hit the Ghost Pokemon and it was sucked inside of the ball. Nightshade fluttered back over to Raine standing for a moment by her feet to look back at the Pokeball, before she spread her wings a second time, rising up to land back on Raine's left shoulder.

John watched the pokeball bob side to side on the wooden floor. He slowly chanted in his head for the capture to complete. It seemed like an eternity for the ball to stop bobbing. After the long wait, the pokeball stopped rolling around on the floor. The capture had completed. Satisfied, John went over to the pokeball and picked it up.

"Excellent work you guys," John said to Raine, her pokemon, and Rast. "I'm glad I had you here with me, Raine. I don't think I could have caught this thing without your help," John said looking at the pokeball. "I don't think this thing'll be too happy now that I've got it locked up like this..." John said. "But, I've got my backpack now!" John said triumphantly. He picked up his backpack and slung it over his shoulder. A small, but great victory.
