Past Friends and Future Foes! Ned and Akuroma Meet as Common Pokemon for the Last Time!?

Akuroma panted, a mint green light fading off his arm. A tree in front of him looked like part of it was repeatedly hit with a long blunt object, but gave no sign of falling. He pulled the hood of his Raging Storm Cloak off of his head before leaning against his knees to catch his breath. He'd been training for the past half hour or so on perfecting his newest move, Psyshock. It felt so strange, focusing his psychic energy into something that would do physical damage. It was quite a change from Confusion, where he simply had to control someone's, or something's, movements with his mind.

When he finally caught his breath, he straightened himself back up and began focusing his psychic energy back onto his arm before swinging it down, sending the wave of energy into the tree. When it made contact, the tree gave a loud groan, and began to lean backwards. For a moment it looked like it was about to stop, until it's own weight finished itself off, a loud snap echoing through the woods before the tree fell down.

Eventually Akuroma was able to pace himself. One careful step after another. When he reached Ned he sat down and sighed.

"Ugh...hopefully I'll find a dawn stone soon, I don't think I'll be able to handle this form for a long time," he said. He looked at his hand a moving the two fingers back and forth. He then looked at Ned.

"So, what now? I don't think I'll be of use in battle, at least until I get used to this form, unless I teleport everywhere, which'll be exhaustive one my part," he said. Now that he had evolved, Akuroma would have to deal with how his body had changed, and height wasn't the only thing that had changed. Akuroma's eyes weren't used to all this light coming to them, and he was straining to not be blinking over and over again.

"You'll get used to it I'm sure.", the Bug type replied.
"You have always been better at everything than I could ever be, and now you have grown even stronger. I doubt you'll be faced with too many problems."
Even though he did not admit it, a mixture of feelings started welling up in the Nincada.
Of course he was proud, that his friend had managed to evolve, but he also was envious, that it hadn't been him, who had recieved this boost in power.
And lastly, he was frightened. If Akuroma would really be as useless as he insisted to be, then the duo would surely meet their end, were they to be attacked now.
Silently the Bug type was praying, begging whichever gods he could think of at the moment to make Akuroma get used to this new form quickly.

Akuroma smirked a bit, "Either way, I think my training here in Shadowhue is done. It'd probably be better to leave now and for me to practice in my new form within Grassveil," Akuroma said.

He looked down at Ned and smiled, "Would you like me to teleport you to Shadowhue's entrance? Or would you rather find a suitable tree nearby?" he asked. Despite believing that hiding under a tree waiting for evolution wasn't the best idea, he didn't think arguing about it with Ned would be any better.

"Heh...I thank you for the offer, but I think I'd rather prefer the tree. Grassveil would be too ovbious - they'd find me there pretty much immediately. While it may take half an eternity, the tree thing is safe at least."
He knew, that he was taking the coward's path in this situation, but Ned did not mind. Better to be a coward, than a fool. The coward would live to see another day, growing stronger until he would be ready to take up the challenge, while the fool would only be remembered for rusing in blindly and being horribly slaughtered.
It had been an eventful day, probably more than Ned had experienced in the last six weeks and they still hadn't gotten anywhere. At least Akuroma had managed to evolve.

Akuroma shrugged, "Any Pokemon in Grassveil isn't allowed to eat other Pokemon. Most, if not all Pokemon are vegetarians within Grassveil's boundaries. So it'd be safer in there than in a forest where Pokemon eat what they want when they want," he said as he stood up. He stretched a bit before looking down at the Nincada.

"Though I guess I shouldn't try convincing you, we both appear to be pretty stubborn and I'd hate to sour our relationship," he said. However, he did stand there to see if Ned would change his mind. He'd hate to teleport out and leave the Nincada to crawl out of the woods alone.

"Oh no, I am not referring to that, Aku."
The Bug type shook his head.
"You saw that Shedinja. That means they are looking for me. And going into town would just be the obvious course of action. So I am staying here to avoid them as much as I possibly can."
While Akuroma often seemed to have trouble understanding trivial concepts and the idea of self-preservation, he definitely was a good Pokémon. And while his offer was much appreciated, it would simply be unwise to return to Grassveil with the situation as it was right now. No, he would have to become stronger first. Maybe the Shedinja would claim to have killed him, so he would have some time. Hopefully it would...

Akuroma shrugged, "Alright, if you think that's best," he said, "Hope ya evolve soon so you won't need to hide anymore. I'll see you some other time." The Kirlia stood up and waved to the Nincada as he walked away before disappearing in a flash of mint green light. Reappearing at the edge of the forest Akuroma sighed.

"Perhaps I should've told him Shedinja naturally live in Shadowhue? There's no way of telling if that Shedinja was a native or not, though," he said before shaking his head and walking back to Grassveil.
