Past Friends and Future Foes! Ned and Akuroma Meet as Common Pokemon for the Last Time!?

Akuroma panted, a mint green light fading off his arm. A tree in front of him looked like part of it was repeatedly hit with a long blunt object, but gave no sign of falling. He pulled the hood of his Raging Storm Cloak off of his head before leaning against his knees to catch his breath. He'd been training for the past half hour or so on perfecting his newest move, Psyshock. It felt so strange, focusing his psychic energy into something that would do physical damage. It was quite a change from Confusion, where he simply had to control someone's, or something's, movements with his mind.

When he finally caught his breath, he straightened himself back up and began focusing his psychic energy back onto his arm before swinging it down, sending the wave of energy into the tree. When it made contact, the tree gave a loud groan, and began to lean backwards. For a moment it looked like it was about to stop, until it's own weight finished itself off, a loud snap echoing through the woods before the tree fell down.

"Why would your cla-wah!" Akuroma cried out as he suddenly found the ground underneath him gone. He feel to the bottom of the pitfall trap and groaned, holding his head a bit as he tried to stand up at the bottom. When his vision finally stopped spinning he noticed the Paras sticking its head out of the ground in front of him. Sighing to himself, Akuroma began to charge up a Psyshock.

"Looks like your plan to lay low didn't quite go the way you wanted it to!" Akuroma called out to the Nincada above.

"I-I-I...I'm not here at all!", Ned managed to stutter out, crawling into a shrubbery in a frantic attempt to escape the Shedinja. A Paras would be no problem at all, but a Shedinja, probably one from his clan - that was something the Nincada had no idea how to defeat.
Now the duo could only hope for a miracle as they most definitley were screwed.
Maybe...maybe they would accept the Ralts as truibute and would just let him go...
No, that was unacceptable!
The reason the Bug type had run away was because he did not want to comply with the clan's questionable moralistic viewpoints, but sacrificing a friend for one's own personal safety was something they would do!
But...what else could be done?

Akuroma swung his arm down, slamming the wave of psychic energy into the wall the Paras was in. With how loose the walls were, the Psyshock caused part of the pitfall to collapse, allowing for Akuroma to climb up fairly quickly. However, when he got to the top, he came face to face with the Shedinja.

"Um...Hello there," he said before the Shedinja's claws glowed a light green. The Shedinja slashed at Akuroma, trying to use Leech Life. Akuroma blocked the attack with a hastily made Protect, followed by a quick Teleport to the branch of a tree to get as far away from the Shedinja as he could. There was no doubt in his mind that the Shedinja would be immune to all his attacks. He only had one option, the Blast Seed in his bag. He never thought he'd have to use it, but he was glad he carried it with him, especially with a Shedinja now being his opponent.

As he was cowering in fear in the undergrowth, Ned did not notice too much of the battle. Some loud sounds, the ground rumbling for a second and the ominous humming of psychic energy were noticed, but there was a problem.
Their most dangerous opponent probably was still out there, deathly silent without the need to eat, sleep, drink or even breathe. It would not even need to try to get them out of their hiding places, as it could simply let the duo starve to death instead.
They couldn't defeat it, they couldn't wait until it would get bored and they couldn't flee.
What could they do?
Was Akuroma even still okay?
Hopefully he was...

Akuroma jumped off the tree as if he were going to divebomb the Shedinja. As the Shedinja began to move to avoid the attack, Akuroma teleported right on top of the Nincada's evolution. Taking the Blast seed from his bag, he popped it into his mouth. After a moment of nothing, Akuroma opened up his mouth and a wave of fire and smoke shot form his mouth onto the Shedinja below.

The Shedinja wobbled as it floated about. Akuroma teleported off of it and watched as the Pokemon landed on the ground with a soft thud. He waited for a moment before he turned and began walking towards where he sensed Ned, popping an Oran berry into his mouth to cool it off from the Blast seed.

Ned meanwhile heard an explosion, further cowering in fear.
The thought of Akuroma having used an item to defeat their adversary had not crossed his mind, so he assumed, that the Ralts was disregarding his advice, senselessly using some sort of psychic powers on the Shedinja.
Why didn't he listen? He could have tried to flee, saving at least himself. But no, he just had to pick a fight with the invulnerable superpokémon.
Now only a miracle would be able to save them.
But apparently the Bug type had used up all his luck when trying to make the journey from the lands far away to Grassveil town.
He had succeeded doing that. Now everything he tried would be doomed to fail.

"Ned, get out of the bushes," Akuroma said, a frown on his face. He knew the Nincada was cautious and sometimes quick to scare, but he never thought it was this bad. He hoped Ned was close to evolving, because his fear would lead him to his end. Even if Akuroma hadn't used his Blast Seed, a normal attack would've taken out the Shedinja, as it's Wonder Guard did nothing to protect it from that.

"C'mon, we let's head a bit deeper and then we'll go home. Or...I'll go home and you can crawl back under a tree," he said. He hadn't even noticed that his horns were beginning to glow a soft red.

"I...the...what?"
Now the Bug type was even more confused than before. Had the Shedinja learned to imitate voices? No , that wasn't likely. But...the only other possibility was...that the Ralts had somehow managed to defeat the Shedinja. And as Ned knew all too well, that was impossible.
Carefully turning around between the twigs and leaves, he noticed the Shedinja lying on the ground, even more motionless than usual.
"I...the...what...the...how did you?"
The very situation was so unimaginable for the Bug type, that he had absolutely no clue how to respond.
"But...neither of us possess any attacks capable of even damaging a Shedinja. What you did violates the laws of physics!"

"Yes, I broke the laws of physics. No, no. I used an item called a blast seed. Shedinja's wonder guard can't protect it from items. Also, if we could've just simply punched the Shedinja, it would've gone down. They abandoned all health in order to get their powerful defensive ability," he said. He crossed his arms and glared at the Nincada. Though his hair obscured his eyes from the Nincada's view, and there was the glowing horns that he was now sporting.

"I..a..."
Ned would have facepalmed, would he actually have palms.
"Yes, I know of Shedinjas' ability. I've been living with them after all. But I didn't think you would be nearly prepared enough to bring any items of the sort with you. Also a Shedinja could just levitate out of our reach and attack us from above."
The Nincada knew, that he should be happy, but he still was too frightended to be anything at the moment. And there was this ominous thought in the back of his mind. The clan knew, where he was. They were after him.
Now it would be more important than ever before to become stronger, find some allies and maybe, eventually take those monsters down.

"Yes and I can teleport to it and hit it," he said as he began walking. He really hoped Ned's fear would disappear, or at least diminish, when he evolved. This brought back their conversation about Ned's evolutions. Akuroma was almost curious enough to go and ask the Shedinja about it, but decided it might not be the wisest decision, seeing as how the Shedinja might not be very happy that it lost to a little Ralts and Nincada. He shrugged to himself, guessing he could find out later when Ned evolved.

"And then it moves a bit to the side and you fall down and hurt yourself. Really, their guardian angels are working overtime. Even with Teleport it would probably next to impossible to actually hit them."
It may sound overblown, but Ned had seen the clan operate. Those cold, invulnerable, lifeless husks of Pokémon were terrifying even when they weren't trying to kill you. And now they were after him. Great.
And the Nincada didn't have a single move capable of hurting them. Really great.
And there wasn't just a single one. It was an entire, trained, professional clan of assassins, hitmen and kidnappers. Totally terriffic.
"Well, I think we should get going before it gets up again. There might be more. I don't suppose you have another Blast Seed with you?"

"Well it sure didn't move when I landed on top of it," he said as he walked. He was becoming more and more irritated at Ned acting like these Shedinja were invincible. They had one ability that protected them only from non-super effective moves, and Akuroma just took one down in only a minute without such a move. Even if there were more, they certainly weren't as dangerous as the Nincada was making them out to be. He kept silent afterwards, only taking an Oran berry out of his bag and eating it.

Just as Ned was beginning to relax a bit, thinking they would be safe again, a smell reached his antennae.
This...this was not good. Had Ned accidentally offended Arceus today in some way?
There was no other way the Nincada could think of, that would explain his painfully bad luck today.
But before he could think about the reasons for these happenings, they would have to do something about them.
"Uh...I-I don't want to rain on your parade, but m-maybe you should look over there for a moment. I don't think our situation has really improved..."
It were times like these during which the Bug type asked himself why he even got up that day.

Akuroma nodded, his horn twitching as he looked over at the group of Pokemon who did not seem happy to see them. He faced them, ready to take his irritation out on them.

"You gonna hide again or will you at least take on the Slakoth?" he asked Ned. Akuroma kept his eyes locked on the Heracross. No doubt the largest of the gathering of Pokemon was the strongest, especially with the way the other three seemed to stay partially behind them, as if awaiting orders.
