Up the mountain without a paddle

It all had happened so fast, Sorren heard about the tallest mountain in the area and wanted to go see it for himself, maybe confront some fears. Everyone was out again so he started to talk to this pokemon, telling her of his plans, he was out the door and on his way before he could blink. he didn't even know her name.

"Hey! Uh sorry about this, but I don't think we've had time for introductions, I'm Sorren of Team Titans." Sorren said, with the enthusiasm of this pokemon, he wouldn't have to wait for long for a reply. maybe a millisecond.

"Well, a year consists out of 350 days. A day consists out of 25 hours and a hour out of 100 minutes. A minute consists out of 100 seconds as well. We've set that by calculating the average time it took for the water to get from being at its hottest to when it is at its hottest again. A second would be about this amount of time."
Revira began tapping her tentacle on the ground in a rythm, that was slightly faster than the second a normal Pokémon would be used to.
"I haven't made any exact comparisons yet, but this system seems to coincide with yours pretty well. So using your system, I might be 100 or 120 years old, but the number shouldn't be too different."

"Uhhh..." Sorren was dumbstruck. He didn't know how to respond to that. "You know what, just forget I ever asked."

Sorren got up to leave. He had figured out some things about Revira, but some things he would like better left mysteries. He sighed. As he was about to take the stairs to the next level he spotted something.

"Uh, well, if you say so..."
So now he wasn't even going to listen to her anymore. Great.
That certainly wasn't something Revira liked to hear, but she decided to remain silent.
Or at least she decided to do so in regards to their discussion.
There were other things she was interested in and she wasn't going to let that little chicken spoil her mood.
"What's that? I don't think I've ever seen something like it before..."

"Oh this is an escape orb!" Sorren said. "It teleports you to the entrance of the dungeon, useful for getting outside in a hurry or if you are worn out after a job and don't want to have to go back through the dungeon to get home. want it?"

Sorren rolled the orb towards the Omanyte. Sorren really had no use for the orb, he would always push himself harder and harder, there was no place for an easy way out for him. Maybe the Hundred year old Omanyte could use it. Dang it, stop thinking about that.

"Nah, thank you for the offer though. It's pretty cumbersome for a Pokémon of my species to carry items with oneself. I wonder, how this thing works though. Maybe we could do some research on some of those things once we've set up a base camp in this world. I'm certain that knowledge might be useful for something..."
Well...even though Sorren did not listen to her ideas, at least he was trying to be polite. Or was he? There were so many strange things in this world, that Revira wasn't even sure of that anymore. Anyway, hopefully they'd find that tribe soon.

They were in a new area  higher up, it was slighly more flat and the mountainside was dotted with caves, they would soon get to the end of this doungeoun and find the black staircase or whatever the cave leading to the top  was called.

"Yeah, If you could figure those out, I mean it would be more helpful to figure out how mystery dungeons work. how the same place yo go through is different every time. how they tend to atract violent and feral pokemon. many have tried, many have failed. I don't thin-" Sorren was cut short by a couple of pokemon walking out of a cave

"Huh? Why did you stop talking? I don*'t see anything extraordinary around here...", Revira surprisedly commented.
"Well, yeah. Maybe our technologies can find something. Who knows? These things just might be the cure to all the bad things, that are happening. These evil Pokémon, that dungeon thingy and you slowly going bald!"
Slowly Revira was getting more enthusiastic again. Whether that was a good or a bad thing was anyone's guess.

Two mawile poked their heads out of the cave. They looked timid.

"Friend or foe?" Sorren asked, no response. "Can you hear me? nope, must be feral"

The larger Mawile stepped forward cautiosly, while the smaller one remained in the cave. Sorren carefully made his way around them, as he knew that Revira wanted to avoid a fight. He was almost past them when the smaller one began to cry, it was a pleading begging cry, sorren knew it. It was the move fake tears. he had experienced enough real tears to know the difference. but Revira...

"Oh, hello, you two! How are you doin-...seriously? You are expecting us to believe that? Your Occipitofrontalis muscle is completely relaxed! Do you really believe for us to be that gullible?"
Although they hadn't been attacked directly yet, Revira remained wary of the two Pokémon in front of them, only quickly glancing around occassionally to make sure, that they weren't being attacked from another direction, but otherwise holding her eyes completely fixed on the Steel types.
But as her gaze was directed in that direction, something got caught on her shell.

"Alright we don't have to fight these guys if you don't want to. also you are smarter then you seem. anyway If wee keep our distance and move away we should be fine" Sorren said, keeping an eye on the two mawile who were keeping up the act.

Sorren backed up. He treaded carefuly to aviod making any sudden movements. His feet were soundless on the rock as he made his way further from him. He was almost out of the way when something wizzed past him. another pokemon. Dangit.

"I do not know, whether your statement just now was meant to be a compliment or a backhanded insult, so I'll just thank you and percieve it as the former. As for those two, I believe, that we have no reason to engage them in combat, so it would be best for us to just keep moving."
While Sorren may have spotted that Pokémon, Revira's shell was far too big and cumbersone for her to allow her to see the creature. Sometimes it could be a real hindrance indeed, depite its excellent defensive properties.

the black and white blur rushed towards the mawile(s?) With a quick flick of it's head both were down.

"Don't Deceive the innocent. BEGONE!" It shouted, the two mawile ran off in a hurry. once that was done sorren got a good look at it.

An absol. Due to their isolationist ways he had never seen one, having only experienced one tragic event in his past. It was a lean creature, made for runing and hunting, fighting and moving. It's eyes pierced Sorren and in them he could see a weathered soul, loyal and undying.

"So," It began "What are explorers doing on our mountain? Are you here on a job, or looking to find some kind of tresure? It matters not. As long as you intend no harm to us you are free to roam these rocks."

"So you are with the absol tribe" Sorren piped up.

"Yes, We don't take kindly to visitors, so don't go looking for us during your stay." It said, licking it's paws.

As she had not seen anything happen before, the Omanyte was thoroughly surprised when she heard the Absol's shouting reach her ears. As quickly as her disadvantageous physique allowed her to, the Rock type turned around to find a strange creature in front of her, the two Mawile running off in the distance.
"Woah...you...you're beautiful.", Revira commented.
"Be not alarmed. I am an ambassador of the Hidden Sanctuary and mean no harm for you in any way. Thank you for your kind offers. I hope, that my people will be able to repay that favor to your people soon."
The Omanyte could hardly believe her ears. Finally a Pokémon appeared to be unaffected by this strange corruption, that had taken hold of almost everyone in this area. Maybe there really was a chance to cure everyone, to save the world...

Looking anoyed, the Absol turned to leave.

"Wait! We, well more I was hoping to get to the top of the mountain, is there anything i should look out for?" Sorren asked the Disaster pokemon.

"Yes, Don't go to the top of the mountain. There is a terrible power that chokes one's sanity there. If that is your goal i suggest you turn around and head down the mountain. Goodbye" The Absol said, before leaping up sheer rock faces and disappearing into the mist.

Sorren just lost any enthusiasm he had. He couldn't go to the top, because apparently it meant that he would go insane. On the other hand, maybe the absol was lying and there was some treasure there that they would want to protect, still if that was the case he shouldn't get involved.

"Dangit" Sorren said, kicking a rock. when he heard a different sound then he was expecting when the rock hit the ground he looked over to see an item of some sort. "Huh, wonder how long that's been there"

"Aww...it's gone already. Too bad...I wanted to talk with it some more. It looked really beautiful.
But why are they living up here? It's so lonely in these parts. Well...maybe there are lots of other Pokémon somewhere we haven't explored yet."
As she went on with her rambling, Revira noticed something on the ground, probably dropped by either the Absol or the fleeing Mawile.
"HEY! YOU FORGOT YOUR...WHATEVER THING! Huh...they seem to be gone already...what is this anyway?"
