Forging Fire - Page 5 Empty
PostSubject: Forging Fire   Forging Fire - Page 5 EmptyTue Jan 14, 2014 4:43 pm

First topic message reminder :

It was a pleasantly calm day and Violet was sitting neatly in the grass outside of her dojo, munching on what could only be described as an absolutely delicious looking slice of pecha pie. The golden brown crust had a slight sugary taste and the inside was a pale pink, the pecha berries also tasting rather sweet. All in all, it was definitely something that would be eaten for dessert. The Oshawott was reading a book that spoke of fire and dragon type moves, having become rather interested in said moves after teaching a red Gyarados how to use Outrage. She did this to pass the time as she awaited her next client; a Torchic by the name of Sorren.

Violet chuckled at Sorren's comment. She had to admit though it had to be very inconvenient to be unable to use such short limbs as his yellow feathered wings for anything but carrying a limited amount of objects.
"I could schedule appointments for you if you'd like. I have some spare notebooks I use to keep track of stuff like that," she replied with a smile. The Oshawott had to admit it felt good to know that someone thought her training methods were successful enough that they'd consider coming back, especially when she had so few clients at the current time due to how little the pokemon of Grassveil knew of the dojo she had set up near the edge of town.

"You free wednesdays? That would work out well for me. As for time I get up at the crack of dawn every day, But I wouldn't want to do my training in the dark. sometime between seven AM and Six PM would work best. The only day I absolutely cannot come in on is tuesdays. Something always seems to happen on tuesdays." Sorren said.

He didn't mind giving up the poke, after all he never used his missions rewards for anything anyway. Free meals at the guild, and Sorren wasn't one for shopping. This seemed like the best use of his money. He could learn a lot from Violet. Hopefully he could beat her one day. That would be something. Sorren laid towel on against a wall. He couldn't hang it or anything, stupid no arms.

"I don't have many clients at the moment so i'm actually free most days," replied Violet with a small chuckle, reaching up to the lilac flower that was tucked behind her ear out of habit, "So wednesdays are fine," she concluded with a cheerful smile. It would certainly be fun to have a client that trained on a proper schedule rather than only once or twice whenever they could fit in a session. It would also be beneficial to Sorren, as the regular training would vastly improve his skills in a way that on and off training could not.

"ok, then around three sound good for you? that should leave time for any morning shenanigans." Sorren said, then he paused for a second. "By the way, I've been wondering, who taught you to fight? I mean if you opened a dojo you have to have had some training yourself."

Sorren was curious. He had never seen such creative use of moves other than his own before. The way she used water gun to propel herself, that was just ingenios. The time he spent here made him remember his youth, the time spend with Shara. Nostalgia welled up inside Sorren. Maybe Violet could bring out the best in sorren just like Shara did.

PostSubject: Re: Forging Fire   Forging Fire - Page 5 EmptySun Feb 23, 2014 6:24 pm

"That sounds fine," smiled the Oshawott, making a mental note to write that down as soon as she had a spare moment. Violet blinked at Sorren's next question before she answered.
"Well I suppose you could say my parents taught me," she replied, putting some thought into the answer she gave, "With the move I inherited from my father, I had a huge opportunity to learn to use many different kinds of moves to my advantage. I also learned a lot when my mother and I were travelling to Grassveil from our old home. We encountered many other pokemon on the way and each one seemed to have a different style and technique when it came to battling to defend their homes..."

Violet had to admit, she had picked up a lot of her skills quite by accident, using her exceptionally good memory to remember the techniques of others and incorporate them into her own style of battling when appropriate. It had been her mother that had realised how useful the skill was and had nurtured her into the pokemon she was today. Her desire to help others with her knowledge was what had, in the end, convinced her to open her own dojo after gazing upon the disused one that could be found within Grassveil Town.

"You're lucky then. My parents were amazing fighters, They wanted to share that with me, but i was to afraid to try, they respected that. Now I'll never have a chance to know what that was like." Sorren said.

The mood had shifted, while it wasn't sad yet it wasn't happy either. Sorren had accepted his loss, but whenever he talked about it he always seemed to loose the energy he usually had, or would fake. At least he had Violet to teach him now.

PostSubject: Re: Forging Fire   Forging Fire - Page 5 EmptySun Feb 23, 2014 7:11 pm

Violet remained silent for a few moments after Sorren talked about his past. His story had reminded her of her father. In truth she wished she'd learned more from him; he was the source of her copycat abilities after all, surely he'd have known much more about it's potential than she or her mother could. He had always been outgoing, trying to do what was right. Perhaps she had unwittingly become like him...

"On a more cheerful note," she said suddenly, trying to lighten the suddenly dampened mood, "I'm glad I could help you with that Ember move of yours," she smiled.

"Yeah thanks for that. It's going to come in handy. Sorry for losing control back there." Sorren said awkwardly.

He Didn't quite know what to say, that happened a lot to him. He felt like he should say something more. Sorren just didn't know what else he could say. No that wasn't true, there was some thing that he could say but was to flustered too. Sorren Steeled himself and said;

"Someday I'm gonna beat you!"

"It's fine," replied the Oshawott with another warm smile, "I wouldn't be in this line of work if I wasn't prepared for occasional accidents like that," she grinned, moving over to the wall to pick up the towel and fold it up ready to take back into the other room.
At Sorren's declaration, Violet blinked before her expression switched to a smile, "You'll have to train hard then," she replied, "After all I do have a type advantage over you."
The way she said this was expressed in a way that made it sound like she was looking forward to the day when Sorren might be able to match her in battle.

"Like I don't train hard enough already, wait and see, I'm going to beat you, and I'm not gonna use a shortcut like a TM." Sorren said, confidently. "Well I guess I'll see you next week, how much do i owe you?" Sorren asked, going over to his bag.

He was honestly looking forward to coming here next week. Things were looking up for once. Maybe Sorren was afraid of a lot of things, but fighting, maybe that one can go away. maybe he can enjoy it. Maybe he can enjoy the company of Violet. He smiled as he found his coins.

Violet couldn't help but admire Sorren's confidence. It would definitely be interesting to watch the Torchic's progress over the coming weeks. Maybe one day he truly would surpass her, she'd just have to make him work for it. The Oshawott chuckled quietly to herself before mentally calculating the fee for his session.
"250 Poké, I believe," she replied with a smile.

Sorren counted out the coins and placed them on the ground in front of the oshawott.

"Sorry if any saliva got on them. Then again you did barf water at me, so i think this makes us even." Sorren joked. "So what's with that garden anyway? I mean why are you interested in raising so many plants?"

Sorren asked, checking his bag to make sure everything was there. He did want to know more about Violet. her energy was just something else. It was pleasant. Just being there was enough to make him happy. He had no clue why, maybe it was because he was coming to terms with enjoying fighting. If Sorren were to describe Violet to anyone else they would accuse him of having a crush on her, wich he did, Sorren just didn't realise that yet.

Violet openly laughed at Sorren's joke before accepting the money from him. She placed the coins on top of the towel she carried so that she wouldn't drop them all over the floor.
"I guess I've just always enjoyed places like that, so I made one for myself," she replied, "It's peaceful to stay out there and garden in my spare time... plus I grow my own food this way as well," she smiled, "It saves me the money that i'd use to buy food normally, and I can use more on the upkeep of the dojo itself," she explained.

"Hm.. Guess that's as good a reason as any. See you later" Sorren said, walking out of the dojo.

Even though he had been there for a short while Sorren was already missing the place. what was this feeling he had about it? Ah well, he had other things to do. He could think about this later. As he passed around the corner he took one more glance back at the dojo. That was one pretty Oshawott. wait, what?

Violet shrugged and nodded before also exchanging her goodbye. Balancing the folded white towel on one paw she waved him out of the building. Shortly after she turned and headed into the back rooms where she stored the money she'd gained from the session and washed and put away the towel that Sorren had used.
Deciding to wind down after the quite heated battle during the session she'd had with the Torchic, Violet headed out to her garden to trim the singed leaves and branches of the plants that grew there. Hopefully this would promote new growths to sprout where the old ones had been removed.
