| It was a pleasantly calm day and Violet was sitting neatly in the grass outside of her dojo, munching on what could only be described as an absolutely delicious looking slice of pecha pie. The golden brown crust had a slight sugary taste and the inside was a pale pink, the pecha berries also tasting rather sweet. All in all, it was definitely something that would be eaten for dessert. The Oshawott was reading a book that spoke of fire and dragon type moves, having become rather interested in said moves after teaching a red Gyarados how to use Outrage. She did this to pass the time as she awaited her next client; a Torchic by the name of Sorren. | |

| "Oh uh... Hi? are you the master of this dojo?" Sorren asked leisurely walking up towards the Oshawott. Only slightly distracted by the pie, only slightly.
Sorren was skeptical of the Oshawott, after all it was only in it's first evolutionary state, plus the fact that it taught moves, many of which it couldn't even know itself. But he had heard how good the place was, so he was willing to take a chance, not like he spent his money on anything else.

| Violet blinked at the sound of the Torchic's voice, quickly snapping her book shut and hopping to her feet, "Oh yes sorry!" she apologised, "I'm Violet, and you must be Sorren," she grinned, before noticing his slight distraction due to the still steaming piece of pecha pie she had been eating. "There's more pie inside if you want some," she chuckled good naturedly, "I made it myself though so I hope it tastes alright." | |

| "Sorry, I'm a sucker for pie." Sorren said. "But not right now, maybe later. I want to get down to business. I feel my fire growing, I think I'm close to being able to use Ember, I'm hoping to get that last push here so i can use my element on Missions."
Sorren averted his gaze from the pie. Trying to remain polite he decided not to ask how the little Oshawott was qualified to train pokemon. He waited patiently for the Master to finish up what she was doing and welcome him inside.

| The Oshawott chuckled at Sorren's admittance to a love for pie. Most pokemon did seem to like the baked treat, but she accepted his wish to get straight on and start training and so gathered her book and the plate with the pie on and lead the way inside. "Sounds like you have a pretty specific goal in mind. I'll do my best to help you realise it," she smiled, quickly popping into an adjacent room to rid herself of the pie and book so there wasn't the danger of ruining either one during training. "With most clients I ask them to demonstrate their moves for me first so I can identify things that could be improved and then go from there, so if you'd like to do that first," she suggested. | |

| "Alright then" sorren said "let's see.."
"Growl" Sorren started off with a growl, a low feral sounding thing, something you would never expect to come from the small bird.
"Scratch" Next he used scratch, spinning around, his 'pirouette' move. Claws glowing white and leaving glowing contrails as he spun.
"Focus Energy" Sorren took a breath and began concentrating energy inside himself. once he was done he wanted to show the effects of the Focus Energy.
"I like to call this one the 'critical pirouette'" Sorren spun around, revolving faster then before, the glowing contrails of Scratch almost making a solid circle of light around him. Once he was finished he planted both claws firmly in the sand and waited for Violet to comment.

| Violet watched each move demonstration with interest analysing each one as they came. Sorren's Growl was definitely on par, no improvement needed there, the fact that this was true showed his confidence as growl was a move that was only successful if you believed in it and put your effort into it. The Torchic's use of scratch was definitely a creative way to conquer the disadvantages of Sorren's species, made even stronger by the use of focus energy. The Oshawott nodded in approval, "I'd say we should start with a good old friendly battle, or spar," she grinned. It would enable her to feel the moves first hand rather than just a demonstration, and the Torchic could also use the friendly battle to test himself against a type he was weak to. | |

| "Wooh, alright" Sorren said, shaking off goosebumps. he would be fine. He Looked at violet, she didn't seem like much, but she was both a water type and a master of a dojo.
Sorren took a deep breath and let it out. he dug his talons into the ground and then ran forward, giving a quick succession of scratch intensified kicks.

| Violet quickly countered with her own Scratch attack, used through the Copycat move inherited from her father. Her paws taking on a stark white glow, the light extended into claw like appendages on the end of her paws which she then used to counter each of the Torchic's strikes. She concentrated on judging the power of Sorren's moves. For such a young Torchic he was definitely talented. Finding a small gap between the scratch-kicks, Violet hopped back a few steps before parting her jaws and releasing a large burst of water upon Sorren. She wanted to see how he would react to the Water Gun, his type being exceptionally weak to such a move. | |

| "ARGHHLARGLEE!!!" The sound of sorrens cry were muffled by the water hitting him.
Sorren tumbled backward from the powerful jet of water. He struggled getting back up. He shook himself to get the water off. His breath was ragged, but his stance didn't suggest anything was wrong with him.
"Bleh, I got it in my mouth!" Sorren exclaimed before sprinting around the dojo, taking his natural speed into account he used focus energy to try and Land some more successful hits, without getting hit himself.

| "Better be more careful next time then," blinked Violet in response, a small chuckle following the words. Of course she would never have laughed if he'd been severely hurt by the move, but she was interested as Sorren had managed to recover quite quickly. Dodging or countering it would have been more ideal however, giving the Oshawott something to help the Torchic work on after their spar. Continuing their friendly battle, Violet used Copycat again, mimicking the Focus Energy as Sorren used it before using Tackle, attacking Sorren head on in counter to his scratches. She always found it rather enlightening to see how someone reacted to having their own moves used against them. | |

| Sorren Didn't know if Violet was making the mistake on purpose, but he took the opportunity. He Continued moving, backpedaling, until his back was against the wall, then when The Oshawott was about to hit him He jumped up and thrust both his feet out using scratch. Hopefully the combination of Violet's momentum, His back to the wall and the unorthodox move would be enough to give him a slight edge. | |

| Watching carefully as the Torchic continued to move backwards, Violet kept herself prepared for a quick dodge or movement. After all, she didn't know Sorren well enough to know how he'd react to her advancing. Being evenly matched in speed with the Torchic, she quickly pulled up her scalchop to protect herself as her momentum sent her into Sorren's claws. Grinning at him, she commented, "Nice move," before breaking contact and hopping backwards a few steps. | |

| "I've never been the strongest," Sorren said, Jumping off the wall, somersaulting in a white circle towards the Oshawott, "SO I LEARNED TO FIGHT CLEVER!"
The effect of focus energy would release soon, so Sorren would need to change tactics if he didn't land a hit. Even though he didn't show it, he was running low on energy, the fight would be over one way or another in the next couple of moves.
After what happened at Icicle Forest, Sorren had been calmer in battle. He feared battle, but he was able to push that fear to the back of his mind, and concentrate all his energy on fighting.

| Violet, already being quite a distance away from the Torchic after hopping backwards, merely leaped to the side, leaving Sorren to somersault towards the ground. Before he could hit the ground however, Violet shot a weak water gun towards him in order to try and break his fall a little. The water wouldn't hit hard enough to damage him much, but would instead prevent him from hitting the ground without much control. "You shouldn't waste energy on boasting during a battle," commented Violet with a small chuckle, "Especially when things aren't guaranteed to go your way. You'll just end up looking silly." Unlike Sorren, Violet was used to many hours of vigorous training with her clients and so had much more energy to spare due to slowly building up her strength during these sessions. | |
