In all of Time and Space - Unova RP

Claudia wandered out of the house with a cheerful, "Byee!" to her mother and a quick wave. She carried with her a pale blue bag which no doubt stored some impressive amount of possessions in it. Claudia's long red hair hung loose, flowing out behind her as she skipped down the road of Nuvema Town and headed towards Professor Juniper's laboratory.
Today was the day she was going to start her Pokemon journey. Today was the day where she would finally get a Pokemon of her own!
Grinning to herself, she once again went through the three Pokemon that most new trainers in Unova chose from when they started their journeys.

There was Snivy, the grass type. Lithe, nimble and pretty cool by starter standards.
Secondly there was Tepig, the fire type. Tepig was kinda cute in Claudia's opinion, but having seen some of it's evolutions, she was less than keen to choose one. A previous run in with a trainer's angry Emboar had put her off of them and to be honest she still found it hard to be around them.
Last but not least, there was Oshawott, the water type. The first time Claudia had seen an Oshawott she had literally squealed at how adorable it looked. She couldn't believe it actually evolved into such a strong looking Pokemon.

Claudia was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that she had reached the laboratory. Gently, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Gabriel cursed and dashed up the stairs. He had thrown on his clothes in thirty seconds flat (He's practiced long and hard for this moment.) and then scrambled back down the stairs only to have his balls thrust at him by Claudia. He dashed after her, Kobold and Ichorous scrambling after him. Somewhere in the back of his mind he was marveling at the odd turn of events. Usually this went the other way around.. Claudia chasing after him. And then of course-



There were cabbages scattered on the ground. It seems that even with Claudia's grace, running through Striaton with a fury is a bad idea.

Claudia registered themselves into the Striaton contest pretty quickly before she rushed off to one of the dressing rooms to put her dress and shoes on. She sighed in relief when she was ready and did a quick twirl in her dress. Grinning, she grabbed Copper's Pokeball and darted out of her dressing room and towards the waiting room.

She looked around, hoping to spot Gabe. When she did, she sat down next to him to watch the appeal currently on the screen.

Gabriel was panting when Claudia sat down next to him. He had combed his hair into a somewhat passable position and had tied his bow-tie and straightened up his overall appearance in a rush. Currently, he was looking to Kobold with a reassuring smile.

Kobold was vaguely freaking out. He turned round worried eyes to Claudia and Gabe. This watching another trainer's appeal was really only making his anxiety worse.

Gabriel did his best to smooth over his Pokemon's insecurities.

Claudia let Copper out of her Pokeball to watch the rest of the appeals. The Pidove sat on Claudia's lap, ruffling her feathers every so often before turning back to preen her wings. Unlike Kobold, Copper didn't seem to feel any apprehension about their appeal. She was confident in herself and her partner.

All of a sudden Claudia and Gabriel's names were called over the waiting room speakers as being up next and Claudia got to her feet.
"Well.. I guess we can only do our best!" she grinned, Copper chirruping in her arms. Claudia then returned Copper and put the ball capsule over her Pokeball, the seal already in place. She then went backstage with Gabe to wait for the curtains to rise.

Gabriel gave Kobold one more encouraging word before tucking him back into his Pokeball. He then took his place behind the curtain, the ball, now in its capsule, clutched tightly in his left hand. He turned his head to where he could vaguely make out Claudia's form. "Good luck then!" He grinned wickedly, all sense of apprehension melting away. Ichorous gave them a tiny smile and a thumbs up. Gabriel closed his eyes.

The curtains rose.

Gabriel's eyes slowly opened. He threw the ball with a low, "Go, Kobold!" Out from the ball came fog. It rolled and tumbled and from within it came an Audino. As the fog dissipated, his sharp blue eyes opened. "Audi!"

"Wish!" He called out.

Kobold closed his eyes and began murmuring an incantation. The atmosphere grew tense as the seemingly gibberish words came out of the Pokemon. Suddenly his eyes flew open again, now a glowing forget-me-not blue. The words stopped.

Laurel sat backstage next to Ichorous. She waved to Claudia and grinned before the curtains began to rise.

Claudia moved in sync with Gabriel before calling out, "Go Copper!"
As Claudia threw the ball, the seal produced a pale, sparkling mist. In contrast with the fog, it was much more gentle and graceful, representing Copper as a whole.
"Pidove!" called the bird, spreading her wings as she materialized into the mist.

"Quick Attack!" called Claudia as the mist and fog cleared, "Spin upwards so you're above the arena!"

With a small coo, Copper dived a few centimeters downwards before making a u-turn and soaring upwards, taking on speed as she went. She started to spin, the white trail from the Quick Attack forming a spiral behind her.

"Morning Sun!" called Claudia, "Brighter than ever before!"

The Pidove pulled out of the spinning Quick Attack and was high above the arena. She spread her wings and her entire body started to glow. The brightness of it blocked out the actual sun, and created what looked like a brighter and whiter one in it's place. As the initial brightness cleared, multicolored particles began to rain down upon the arena. They were the result of Kobold's earlier Wish move.

"Kobold, Helping Hand!"

Kobold began a graceful dance. He spun in a wide circle as orbs began forming around his paws/hands. The lights around his appendages were a pale pink, shrinking down to a small size and then growing large again. As he danced the particles from above showered around the arena. As they fell they were absorbed into Kobold's orbs of light. They shimmered briefly from within the pink orbs before changing the entire thing blue. This went on for some time; Absorb, shimmer, change.

As the Audino danced, he gradually moved towards center stage. It was here where the biggest part of their appeal would take part; the turning point. And it was here that Kobold clapped once, twice, three times, until each of his claps were synchronized with Copper's wingbeats as she flew down from above.

That was when the real climax began.

As Copper finally rejoined Kobold down on the arena floor Claudia nudged Gabriel and gave him a short look that only he would know the meaning of. There was a pause before both coordinators called out, "Wish Tornado!" and the climax of their appeal began.

The Pidove fluttered around Kobold, blowing up dust from the arena floor as she did so. It was then however that she began to flap her wings in an odd way, creating small wisps of wind that began to guide the still falling particles together. Within a few seconds, they were collected into a large group and Copper turned the small wisps of wind into a powerful twister. The audience could see the glittering particles inside the gust. The particles began to spread out, creating a colourful spiral inside of the Gust.

As the winds dissipated, the particles continued to spin in their spiral formation as they slowly fell towards the ground.

"Last move," Claudia whispered to herself. The crowd wouldn't be able to hear her.

Kobold's dancing slowed to a halt, the orbs on his hands blinking out of existence. He then used Refresh, this time the more watered down version that they had talked about. A green light soon encased the Audino. It slowly grew outwards until it created a lime green dome around the tornado of particles. The light reflected off of them and they shimmered and glittered before finally falling to the ground. Soon all of the particles had fallen. In fact, right as the very last fluttered to the ground, Kobold's Refresh-Dome began pulling back to its center; Kobold.

With a final swish that was just barely audible, the dome was gone and only the Pidove and the Audino were left in the center of the stage.

All was silent.

Gabriel held his breath and bit his lip to keep himself from grinning too widely. That had gone rather well, if he did say so himself.

Claudia didn't bother holding back her grin. Instead she waved happily to the crowd as Copper fluttered back over to her. The Pidove landed on her shoulder before they both headed backstage to see their scores.

Laurel leaped into Claudia's arms once more as they reached backstage. She carried her over to a seat to hear the judge's verdict.

Gabriel sat down beside of Claudia and quickly began to chatter. After about fifteen minutes of straight ranting, a ding emanated from the screen a few feet away. Gabe's voice faded out as he eagerly viewed the scores.

He and Claudia had made it into the battle round with flying colors! Gabriel grinned and leapt out of his seat with a loud cheer. Ichorous and Kobold laughed good-naturedly before attempting to calm down their trainer.

Gabriel turned to Claudia with a mischievous look in his eye. He quickly gave her an all-encompassing bear hug that was enough to squeeze the life out of anyone. He backed off with a snicker and began going over battle strategies in his head.

Claudia watched the other appeals with interest, trying hard not to be distracted by Gabriel's ranting and chatter as she did so. As the screen revealed the scores, she grinned and hopped out of her seat, hugging her Pokemon.

She blinked as Gabriel turned to her. Copper and Laurel seemed to almost sense what was going to happen as they dived out of the way, leaving Claudia the only victim of Gabe's bear hug.

"Thanks for that..." she chuckled as Gabe let go. Claudia couldn't help but wonder who they were going to be up against in the battle rounds. She watched the screen as the computer randomized the pairings. Laurel hopped back up onto her shoulder, with Copper sitting neatly on the bench.

Gabriel's chatter remained at a halt (for now) as the battle pairs were announced. After quite a few names of people he didn't recognize, his and Claudia's faces popped onto the screen, their names written above them in small print. His eyes flicked to the other side of the screen where the faces of two girls were; one with orange hair and blue eyes and the other with brown hair and green eyes. Above their pictures were the names Shara and Elise, respectively.

Gabriel's face scrunched together as he attempted to recall their appeal. Seeing as they had been late and he had been talking throughout most of the other performances, he couldn't remember theirs. He shrugged.

"Alright then! Let's win this thing, Claudia." He grinned as he turned to face his partner.

"Oshhhaa!(Yes!)" Ichorous agreed whole-heartedly. He leaped to his feet and pulled a battle stance.

Claudia nodded as she turned to Gabe after looking at the two they were to face. They had missed their appeal, but Claudia wouldn't be put down. From her shoulder, Laurel smiled at her, agreeing with Ichorous and Gabriel.

"Looks like we're up," she smiled, Laurel nodding before Claudia returned her to her Pokeball and put it in it's ball capsule.

Gabe pushed down his anxiety with a grin and returned Ichorous to his Pokeball. Once the Oshawott had been pulled inside of the red and white ball, the trainer tucked said ball inside of the ball capsule. He then trotted over to the entrance to the stage. A bell rang out from above his head, signalling the battle's imminent begin. Gabriel took a deep breath and pushed past the doorway.

Once on the stage, Gabe was all smiles and charm. He took his place on the field, observing as Claudia as well as the other two trainers walked out onto the stage.
