In all of Time and Space - Unova RP

Claudia wandered out of the house with a cheerful, "Byee!" to her mother and a quick wave. She carried with her a pale blue bag which no doubt stored some impressive amount of possessions in it. Claudia's long red hair hung loose, flowing out behind her as she skipped down the road of Nuvema Town and headed towards Professor Juniper's laboratory.
Today was the day she was going to start her Pokemon journey. Today was the day where she would finally get a Pokemon of her own!
Grinning to herself, she once again went through the three Pokemon that most new trainers in Unova chose from when they started their journeys.

There was Snivy, the grass type. Lithe, nimble and pretty cool by starter standards.
Secondly there was Tepig, the fire type. Tepig was kinda cute in Claudia's opinion, but having seen some of it's evolutions, she was less than keen to choose one. A previous run in with a trainer's angry Emboar had put her off of them and to be honest she still found it hard to be around them.
Last but not least, there was Oshawott, the water type. The first time Claudia had seen an Oshawott she had literally squealed at how adorable it looked. She couldn't believe it actually evolved into such a strong looking Pokemon.

Claudia was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that she had reached the laboratory. Gently, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Claudia meanwhile had picked out a bunch of seals that she thought would be just perfect for her Pokemon. There were basic ones that just threw out sparkles and glitter, to complicated ones that caused a Pokemon to emerge within petals or musical notes. She also decided that she couldn't just not buy some and so there were a few random ones that she had bought.

All in all she had a pretty extensive collection and was pretty sure she wouldn't be buying any more for a long, long time.

After buying her stuff, she had wandered over to a shelf with poffins on it. Laurel seemed like she was drooling just looking at the pictures but Claudia was reluctant to buy them as she could cook them instead if she wanted to...

"Oh hey again Gabe," she smiled as her friend approached her.
She finished organizing her seals into groups in one of the pockets in her bag as he approached.

"Off we go then!" Gabe crowed, ever the loud and obnoxious one. He skipped happily out of the door before breaking down into giggles outside. He just couldn't do it. He looked to ridiculous to keep himself from keeling over due to laughter! After a moment he mimed wiping a tear from his eye and walked forwards once more, turning around to look at Claudia. "So where to?" He tilted his head a bit before his gaze flickered over to his Pokemon, checking if they were keeping up.

What he saw was this:

Kobold had his face firmly planted in the ground and was weakly trying to sit up. Tyson was nosing at him in a concerned manner and Ichorous was nowhere to be found. Gabriel stopped walking. His brow furrowed. "Claudia, do you see Ichorous around anywhere?" He leaned to the side so that he could see around her but still found no trace of the Oshawott.

Claudia followed Gabriel outside and stood in thought for a moment after he asked 'Where to?'
She had been just about to answer when Gabe has asked if Claudia could see Ichorous anywhere.
"Uhm.." she glanced around, hoping to spot him nearby.
"No... Maybe he just wandered off. We should go search for him before he gets lost. Striaton City is a big place..."

"Snivy!" called Laurel suddenly.
Claudia paused and turned to where Laurel was pointing. She saw a flash of blue and white in one of the bushes outside the shop on the opposite side of the street.
"Wait! I think I saw him," she smiled before dashing off in that direction.

It didn't take long to reach there... but by the time she did, she only saw another flash of white and blue before he was gone again. Claudia didn't give up though and followed it towards the edge of town.

Gabriel frowned and chased after Claudia. There was something off about this whole situation. Wandering off just wasn't like Ichorous. It didn't set right in Gabe's head. Still, this was his only lead as to where his Pokemon was located so he wasn't about to let it slip away.

When he and Claudia had finally caught up with the Oshawott, Gabriel was panting and out of breath. They were right on the edge of town and two people were stood in front of the Oshawott who.. wasn't an Oshawott anymore? In the space that should've been Ichorous was a small black Pokemon with red paws and a tuft of fur on its head. Gabriel had never seen anything like it. "Who're you?" Gabe narrowed his eyes at the two suspicious looking people standing by the Pokemon.

"Zoru!" cried the black and red Pokemon. It looked from Gabriel and Claudia to the two oddly dressed people in front of it.

"Who're we?" repeated one of the two, his tone one of disbelief.
"We're members of Team Plasma!" cried the other one. Whilst these two were making fools out of themselves, Claudia caught sight of a third member who seemed to be trying to stuff something into a sack. The 'something' wasn't entirely giving the third Plasma grunt an easy time...

Seeing where Claudia's gaze had just landed, the Plasma grunts looked like they were about to make a run for it. Claudia noticed this and quickly sprung into action.
"Laurel! Vine Whip!"

The Snivy raised the vines and headed in to stop the Plasma grunts.. however they acted pretty quickly, grabbing the vines and pulling Laurel in using them.
With a pained cry of "Vyyy!" the plasma grunts captured Laurel, attempting to stuff her into another brown sack as they ran off.

"Laurel!" yelled Claudia, not knowing what to do as the grunts ran off with their beloved Pokemon. The Zorua fired a multicoloured beam of energy at the grunts as they ran, once again trying to stop them. It missed.
"Zor...." he frowned sadly as the grunts ran off.

Claudia wandered over and gently picked up the Zorua, cradling it in her arms. She was honoured that a wild Pokemon like this would just try and help them, even though it didn't know who they were.
"We'll get them back," she told him, her eyes burning with what seemed to be acombination of rage and determination.

Gabriel's eyes widened as he took in the three Plasma grunts running away, the two brown sacks slung over their shoulders. He turned to his remaining two Pokemon, eyes burning with fury. "Alright then, Kobold. Tyson." He was deadly serious for the first time in his journey. "Let's go get Ichorous back." His face showed a great deal of anger but also a bit a glee. He was going to enjoy tricking these filthy people who called themselves trainers.

Gabe turned towards Claudia, looking at the Zorua. "Thank you." He said, ruffling the fur on its head. "Now, do you think you could help us find those guys again?" He tilted his head to the side as he inquired.

Claudia's other two Pokemon, Copper and Celandine were still in their Pokeballs and she didn't want to worry them by letting them out and having to explain what had happened. She would tell them when Laurel and Ichorous were retrieved, but for now...

"Right. Let's work together."
She gently put the Zorua down on the ground and he raised his nose into the air, sniffing. It didn't take him very long to dash off again, Claudia following immediately.

After a short trip through the Dreamyard, they found the three grunts. They appeared to be arguing with each other but in hushed voices. It didn't take them long to notice that the two trainers from before had returned.
"Aww shit," one exclaimed. The other two just looked at him before turning back to the trainers and their Pokemon. They were cornered and had no choice. Grabbing their Pokeballs, they sent out a Patrat and two Lillipup.

Claudia stood there for a moment to analyse their Pokemon. They looked pretty determined despite the fact that their trainers were crooks. She wondered if these Pokemon had been actually caught and befriended, or whether these Plasma grunts had stolen them form another unsuspecting person.
It was then that Claudia saw the Zorua looking back at her expectantly. She blinked recognizing that look from when she and Laurel had been training. Grabbing her Pokedex, Claudia quickly scanned the Zorua to find out what moves he knew.

"Alright. Zorua, use Fury Swipes!"
The black and red fox-like Pokemon immediately jumped in. His paws began to glow and small claws extended form them. He aimed for one of the Lillipup, relentlessly scratching at it using Fury Swipes.

"Go, Tyson!" Gabriel barked. The Lillipup growled furiously at the grunts before jumping into place. Gabe began formulating a plan. "Alright. Distract them Tyson!" And then the trainer was no where to be found.

Tyson barked and bared his teeth which rapidly began flaming. He leaped upon the Patrat, snarling and making a general nuisance of himself. From out of the corner of his eye he saw the other Lillipup attempting to sniff out Gabriel. Tyson leaped off of the Patrat and onto the Lillipup, bowling him over and buy Gabe some time.

Gabriel panted as he pressed his back against a wall in the Dreamyard. He had just escaped without a trace and was feeling good about his plan. Now it was time to find Ichorous and Laurel..

And then Gabe, being the klutz he is, tripped over a huge rock. He groaned and rubbed the back of his head before seeing that he hadn't tripped over a rock. No.. this was blue... and black and yellow. Gabriel's brow furrowed before he just shrugged and tucked the item into his backpack. He could figure that out later.

He promptly delved into some bushes, loudly whispering. "Ichorous! Laurel!"

"Alright Zorua. I guess we'll help keep these guys distracted. Use Extrasensory!"
To be perfectly honest, Claudia hadn't the foggiest what this move was until she thought back to when the same Zorua had fired a colourful beam from his mouth. It didn't make sense for any of the other moves and so it had clicked as to what it was.

Zorua leaped backwards, it's agile movements not to be beaten by the likes of Team Plasma. The Patrat had attempted to escape with it's master, but before it could the Zorua had fired the colourful beam in it's direction. The strong Psychic type move quickly knocked out the Patrat and the grunt returned it to it's Pokeball before attempting to rush off.

Claudia had opened her mouth to shout Vine Whip but had stopped herself just in time. These two wouldn't take long to defeat.

"Tyson, Kobold! Jump! Zorua use Dark Pulse toward the ground!"
Claudia had gotten a spur of the moment idea and whilst the two Lillipup blinked, confused at the idea, the Zorua's pulse of dark energy had spread across the ground. Tyson and Kobold had avoided it, but the other two Lillipup had been unable to jump in time and were knocked out.

Before either of the remaining grunts could register what was going on, Claudia had taken off, Zorua, Tyson and Kobold in tow, rushing in the direction Gabe had sneaked off in.

"Zoru!"
Claudia followed the Zorua as it sniffed out Gabriel's location.

Meanwhile, Laurel had continued to struggle in the sack she had been thrown into. It wasn't long before she found herself free. As soon as she did so, she took in a deep breath and shouted as loud as she could, hoping that Claudia or even Gabriel might hear her.

"SNIVYYYYYYYYY"

Before any of the grunts could come and stuff her into another sack, she quickly freed Ichorous, hoping that they could defend themselves if it came to a battle.

Gabriel had been traversing undergrowth for a good ten minutes when he heard Laurel's shout. His eyes grew wide, as did his grin, as he stumbled towards the area the noise had emanated from. Breaking into the small clearing, he let out a relieved sigh. "Hello you two! We've been looking for you." He knelt down and ruffled the fur on Ichorous' head and whatever the heck was on Laurel's head (|D) before turning around.

"So, hows about we go find Claudia and get out of here?" He suggested, raising an eyebrow.

Ichorous nodded vigorously. He was greatly relieved by the sight of his ridiculous trainer and happily padded over to his leg, tugging on his pants. Gabriel laughed and bent down, scooping up the starter. He checked to make sure that Laurel was following before he set off.

Gabriel wasn't the only one who heard Laurel's loud cry. It told Claudia and Zorua that they were indeed pretty close by. She dashed around the corner and nearly ran straight into Gabe.
"Ohmygod you scared me to death-" she stopped as she saw Laurel come up next to him.

"Laurel!" she grinned bending down. The Snivy dashed over to Claudia, leaping into her trainer's arms and snuggling into her chest.
"Snivy, vy~" she smiled and Claudia just hugged her, understanding her perfectly.

The Zorua sat down nearby, grinning at the two trainers. They had their Pokemon back and it looked like Team Plasma had been taught a lesson or two at the same time. Claudia continued to hug Laurel until the Snivy returned to her perch on Claudia's shoulder. She then turned to the Zorua, moving over to him.

"Thankyou for helping us," she smiled reaching out to ruffle the tuft of fur on the Zorua's head. He blinked and smiled at Claudia before turning his gaze towards the ground. The Zorua took a small breath before he looked back up at Claudia.
"Zoru zorua, ru ru zoru ru zorua...."

Claudia blinked as she listened before lifting the Zorua into her arms once more.
"So you want to come with us... to find her?" she asked, the Zorua nodding in reply. Claudia reached into her bag and brought out a regular Pokeball.
"Are you sure?" she asked, the Zorua nodding again before he touched his nose to the Pokeball and was sucked inside. The Pokeball didn't even shake, it merely clicked as the Zorua was captured.

Gabriel tilted his head as he heard the Zorua's and Claudia's conversation. He couldn't understand any of what the Pokemon had said and Claudia's words didn't really make any sense to him either. He shrugged inwardly before piping up. "Sooo.. Perhaps we should go to the Pokecenter.." He eyed Tyson who had sustained a bit of damage from the Lillipup and Patrat before nudging him and Kobold to their feet and nodding at the entrance to the city.

After getting his three Pokemon patched up, Gabriel was seated in the Pokecenter. He had been told that it would take a little longer to fix up Tyson and that they wanted to look Ichorous over more carefully, so he had sat down and taken off his backpack. He was now rooting through it before pulling out the 'rock' from the Dreamyard and gently setting it down on the table in front of him. He squinted at it for some time before promptly deciding that this needed to be shown to the Professor.

Gabe stood and grabbed the object, padding over to the machine in the corner of the PokeCenter. He had decided that this would give Professor Juniper the best view of the item and would thus be best for identification of it. He booted up the machine and typed in Juniper's number.

ring....ring...

"Hello?"

"I.. yea. I think that would be a good idea," she smiled, wanting to let the nurses look over Laurel as well as heal the Zorua who had helped them.

Laurel and the Zorua were currently still with the nurses, as were Tyson and Ichorous. Claudia had sat down next to Gabriel, running her hands through her hair as she waited for the nurses' verdict. She watched as Gabriel pulled out the 'rock' before moving over to the call machines. She had opened her mouth to ask why on earth he had a Pokemon egg with him before he had gotten up and moved away.

"Hey.. wait up!" she called, following him over. When she reached the machine, he was already having a conversation with Professor Juniper and so she didn't want to interrupt.

"So.. This is a Pokemon egg?" Gabriel's eyebrows were raised high. He couldn't believe that he'd (literally) stumbled across a Pokemon egg! However, with this arose another question. "Well.. what kind of Pokemon is it?" He tilted his head to the side, barely noticing Claudia as she appeared by his side.

"Oh hello Claudia." Professor Juniper smiled warmly before turning her scrutinizing gaze back on the egg. She frowned. "I'm honestly not very sure.. It definitely isn't from Unova. You've found something quite rare, Gabriel! I never knew you had it in you." She teased him with a grin.

Gabe pouted. "I'm wounded." He said his thanks and good-byes after finding that there wasn't much more the Professor could tell him. He turned to see Claudia and waved merrily for no particular reason.


"...So when was that contest again?"

Claudia smiled at Professor Juniper and waved hello before looking at Gabriel. She waited until Professor Juniper had finished going on about how rare it was to tell them both; "It's a Shinx egg."

"The contest- OH SHIT THE CONTEST!"
With all the Team Plasma mayhem, Claudia had nearly forgotten. She quickly turned tail and dashed upstairs, her speed rivaling a rocket. Instead of getting changed there, she grabbed her dress and neatly folded it and fit it into her bag. She tucked the matching shoes in as well before running back downstairs to get her Pokemon back from Nurse Joy.

Luckily there was nothing wrong with either Laurel or Ichorous and both had been healed. Claudia grabbed Gabe's Pokeballs at the same time, not entirely trusting him to be quick about getting his stuff together.

When Gabe joined her downstairs, she quickly gave him his balls before dashing next door to the contest hall, thanking her lucky stars that she had done her hair this morning rather than leaving it for later.
