In all of Time and Space - Unova RP

Claudia wandered out of the house with a cheerful, "Byee!" to her mother and a quick wave. She carried with her a pale blue bag which no doubt stored some impressive amount of possessions in it. Claudia's long red hair hung loose, flowing out behind her as she skipped down the road of Nuvema Town and headed towards Professor Juniper's laboratory.
Today was the day she was going to start her Pokemon journey. Today was the day where she would finally get a Pokemon of her own!
Grinning to herself, she once again went through the three Pokemon that most new trainers in Unova chose from when they started their journeys.

There was Snivy, the grass type. Lithe, nimble and pretty cool by starter standards.
Secondly there was Tepig, the fire type. Tepig was kinda cute in Claudia's opinion, but having seen some of it's evolutions, she was less than keen to choose one. A previous run in with a trainer's angry Emboar had put her off of them and to be honest she still found it hard to be around them.
Last but not least, there was Oshawott, the water type. The first time Claudia had seen an Oshawott she had literally squealed at how adorable it looked. She couldn't believe it actually evolved into such a strong looking Pokemon.

Claudia was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that she had reached the laboratory. Gently, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Claudia moved the stick that Tyson had bitten so that it was in the center of the arrangement and had more chance of lighting the rest of the wood. Celandine curled up near the now strongly burning fire, Copper joining her shortly after. The Pidove fluffed up her feathers to get herself comfortable enough to sleep.

Claudia ducked into her tent for a moment before returning, her violin in her hand.
"It's not a guitar, but it'll do," she chuckled, plucking each string to test their sound.

Laurel curled up next to Claudia. She didn't plan on falling asleep just yet, but she found it nice to just lie here next to the fire as it got dark around them.

The conversation between Ichorous, Kobold, and Tyson died down as the flames grew higher. Tyson curled into a small ball and pushed against Gabriel's thigh. The trainer smiled and scratched behind the Lillipup's ears. Ichorous seemed content to watch the fire, leaping and curling. The red-orange flames were reflected in his eyes as he observed, sitting completely still. Kobold had arranged himself so that he was leaning against Gabriel's side. His eyelids were drooping ever so slowly until he finally closed his eyes entirely.

Gabriel exhaled and looked at his Pokemon warmly. "It's times like these that you think how lucky we are to be able to spend our time out adventuring with Pokemon, eh?" He said quietly to Claudia. He was quiet (for once in his life) because he didn't want to rouse the Pokemon from their stupors.

Claudia nodded, holding the violin and resting head on the chin rest. She held up the bow and began to play an almost lullaby. The hairs of the bow hardly touched the strings of the instrument, making it seem almost like a whisper. She closed her eyes to better concentrate on the calming music. Laurel began to fall asleep next to her trainer, the music soothing her and making her drowsy almost like a Sing move.

A lazy smile stretched across Gabriel's face as he was lulled into a trance by the soft notes coming from the violin. Kobold was drooping against his side, falling into a deep sleep while Tyson let out a soft snore. Ichorous' eyelids slid shut as he and the other Pokemon were soothed into a deep sleep by the music.

Gabriel yawned rather loudly before looking at his Pokemon and chuckling lightly. "I suppose I better send the dude platoon to bed." He took a moment to bask in the glory of his ingenious nickname before gently picking up Tyson. He carried him to his tent and sat him down carefully, repeating the process with the other two of his Pokemon. Afterwards, he plopped himself down on the ground by Claudia once more.

Claudia laughed at the name he had come up with for his team. She was perfectly content with just 'team' or 'partners' for now, but who knows, that may change. As the last note of the lullaby faded out, she removed the bow from the strings and took her chin off of the rest. She gently put the violin down on the ground before flopping backwards onto the grass.

"Ahh. At least it's not too cold out," she mentioned quietly as she looked up at the stars. Copper, finally realizing what tents were for, fluttered into the comfort of Claudia's. Celandine joined her shortly after as she no longer had the Pidove's soft feathers beside her.

Laurel however, stayed where she was. This was where she liked to be, right by Claudia's side.

Gabriel hummed his agreement, too comfortable in the warmth of the fire and quiet breeze to do anything to threaten it. He was happy to just sit around and bask in his laziness. This was when his Xtransceiver went off. He squealed and fell off of the log he was sitting on before pulling it out of his pocket and squinting at the brightly lit screen. It was from his father. He let out a dramatic sigh and answered it.

"Hey Dad how's it going." He said monotonously. "Gabriel! How's your adventure going?" His Dad sounded a bit worried. Hm. That was new. "Oh it was going great until you called." Gabriel stuck his tongue out, his voice teasing. "Oh excuuuse me! Now who is that I see in the background?" Gabriel turned around and saw that Claudia was probably just barely visible in the screen. "Oh that's Claudia. She and her pokemon are traveling with me." He went on to make friendly conversation before turning back to Claudia. "Wanna say a few words? He'll talk for hours so you may as well talk to him. Maybe it'll shut him up for a few minutes." He gave a lopsided grin.

Claudia sat up at the sound of an Xtransciever. It had reminded her how she had yet to ring her other and tell her about her Pokemon and meeting Gabriel... She decided she'd do it once she got to Striaton City.

She was broken from her thoughts by the mention of her name and looked over to the screen of Gabe's Xtransciever, giving his dad a nervous wave.
"Uhh... Hi?" she smiled, trying not to be too awkward about it. She always found talking to other people's fathers quite... odd and almost stressful, as it reminded her that her own father had just upped and left all those years ago.

Laurel looked up from where she was curled up, peering over Claudia's knees to see where the ominous voice was coming from. As she saw the screen, she tilted her head with a small, "Vy?"

Gabriel chuckled at Claudia and Snivy before turning back to the screen. "Mhm. Yeah. Okay Dad. Whoops look at the time! Gotta go!" He quickly pressed the 'end call' button and mimed wiping sweat off of his brow. "Phew! Glad that's over with." He swung himself up onto his feet, staggering backwards a bit before shoving the Xtransceiver back in his pocket. "Alrighty then. I think I'm gonna hit the hay." He let out a loud yawn. With a wink and a wave, he turned around and stumbled sleepily towards his tent. Slipping inside, he collapsed onto the nest, cuddled with the 'dude platoon', and then inhaled deeply. He then wrinkled up his nose because the clothes and blankets that he'd used to make the nest smelled awful. Oh well. He tried.

Claudia laughed at the sudden termination of the call but nodded as Gabriel said he was going to 'hit the hay'. She watched him duck into his tent to go to sleep, but stayed outside for a few more minutes. She stared into the fire, thinking about the speech in Accumula Town this morning.
Laurel stood up and stretched her arms, snapping Claudia out of her trance-like state, staring at the burning fire. The trainer blinked and nodded, getting to her feet and kicking some dust over the fire so it was little more than a smoldering ember as she and Laurel entered the tent.

Claudia got changed pretty quickly in the corner of her tent, whilst Laurel made herself comfortable next to Copper and Celandine. Claudia was soon ready for bed and curled up in her sleeping bag. Her violin and bow were neatly placed in their places in her bag, which was on the opposite side of the tent to the one her Pokemon were sleeping on. She closed her eyes and fell asleep almost immediately.


Claudia woke early the next morning and was dressed within a few minutes. She emerged from her tent to sit in front of the coals from last night fire and brush her red hair. When that was done, she gently woke her Pokemon and began to pack up her tent and sleeping bag.

"Hey Gabe...?" she blinked as she realized he wasn't even up yet.
Claudia wandered over to his tent and knocked on the side, "Up and at 'em Gabe. It's morning!"

Meanwhile, whilst Claudia attempted to wake Gabriel, Laurel, Celandine and Copper were helping around the camp, re-gathering sticks to cook some breakfast. They nearly had everything ready and would just need Tyson's Fire Fang to relight the blaze.

Gabriel whined and rolled over, hearing a banging in his head. Wait a second. That wasn't in his head! He cracked open an eye and glared at the Claudia shaped shadow on his tent. He rolled out of his warm comfy nest and onto the cold cloth ground. He whined some more before picking a random pair of pants and a shirt and throwing them on. Afterwards, he picked up a stray twig and prodded his Pokemon until they awoke, all of them glaring daggers at him. "Up-sie Daaaisy~" He crowed, now fully awake. He gathered up his belongings right quick and shoved them all back into his backpack, pulling Ichorous in as well. He threw the other two Pokemon out with a giggle before folding up his tent in a rather messy way. Ah well.

"Done!" He turned around to find Claudia completely done with packing up her belongings. And her's were packed up nicely. "Awww.."

Claudia laughed, "You didn't need to rush you know, we still have to cook breakfast. I just need Tyson's Fire Fang to help with that since we all tried striking stones and sticks together already and can't seem to get it going."

Laurel hopped over on all fours before standing back up on two and nodding, "Vy Snivy."(It's harder that it looks you know.)

Claudia just chuckled and lifted the Snivy up onto her shoulder.
"I'll get you all some breakfast from my bag. Just gimme a second..."
She then wandered over to her neatly packed bag and dug through it looking for her stocks of Pokemon food. Luckily she found it quickly and began handing it out. Instead of using bowls, she laid a small amount out neatly on some napkins, making it look like it was from a prestigious restaurant for Pokemon. Copper and Celandine came over for there share, with Laurel eating it from her perch on Claudia's shoulder. She was very neat about it all, unlike the other two who seemed to get the food everywhere.

Gabriel stuck his tongue out at Claudia before plopping his things back down on the ground. He trotted over the to site of the fire and called Tyson over. "Fire Fang!" He grinned.

Tyson happily obliged, igniting the end of one stick in a few seconds. He then looked to Gabriel then the food and back. Gabriel chuckled and shook his head. "Go for it man."

Tyson shot off like a rocket. He skittered past one napkin and then screeched to a halt, walking back towards it at a slower pace. He sat himself down and looked around for permission before just deciding to dig in.

Ichorous flew out of Gabe's bag and scrambled over to one of the napkins. He looked down at the food and then to Claudia before muttering something quietly in a slightly grumpy tone. " Osha.(Thank you.)"

Kobold joined the other two with great fervor, grabbing handfuls of the food and shoving them in his mouth. "Auuudi~ (Yummy!~)"

Claudia smiled at Ichorous, replying with a short, "You're welcome" before turning to Kobold and chuckling at his enthusiasm. The Audino was like Gabriel in many ways and seemed like a perfect match for the trainer.

Meanwhile, Claudia began to cook their own breakfast over the fire. It didn;t take long and she was soon munching away on her share, ravenous as she hadn't eaten anything the night before.

"So then... how about we have a morning of developing techniques and then hit the road. We should probably make it to Striaton before nightfall if we leave just after midday."

Gabriel happily took some of the food Claudia had prepared. After munching on it for a while, he responded to Claudia's suggestion. "Sounds good to me! We've got our work cut out for us if we're gonna make my lunatics play nice with yours." He grinned in a lop-sided fashion before turning around to see how their meal time was going. Ichorous was currently wiping chewed up Pokemon food off of his face which appeared to have come from the ever hyperactive Tyson who was currently barking something a mile a minute.

"LILLI! PUP LILLIPUP! (SORRYSORRYSORRYYY)" Tyson wailed, flailing around. Kobold was observing them with one shaking finger held up as if to say 'Now now wait a second..' Ichorous then through the food back at Tyson who ducked. The food then flew towards Copper.

And this was how the Great Food Fight of 2012 began.

Throughout this food fight, Laurel merely stood to the side, wondering what on earth her life had come to. Copper meanwhile had flung what she could gather from her feathers, back at Tyson and poor Celandine had been caught in the crossfire just as Copper had.

Claudia blinked and asked Laurel to use Magical Leaf. The Snivy nodded and created a leafy shield between the Pokemon, stopping any more food from hitting each other.

And this was how the Great Food Fight of 2012 ended.

Claudia used the now empty napkins to wipe the food from Celandine and Copper's fur before returning them both to their Pokeballs. She then began to tidy up the messy scene.
She sighed, "Well, hopefully they'll calm down soon enough... I guess I'll just work with Laurel's moves whilst they cool off."
