One Long Adventure

Jak {32-18=14}
Previously, Jak had come to the mountain ranges to attempt to find a gift for someone. Someone he found special to him. It was something he thought would help them in their goal to get stronger faster.

This item was rumored to lay in these mountains. A gift of Joy... A Joy Ribbon.
From what Jak had heard, this item was supposed to help you gain experience faster. Making you possibly evolve faster too in some cases. He knew if this item was able to help you get stronger faster. It would make a perfect gift.

Now, that couple of weeks have gone by since his last attempt at getting some of these "Magical" ribbons. He is now on his way back to the mountain range to attempt to find these ribbons. Before he had left, he had informed Joey that he would be gone for a while for this adventure. He didn't want Joey to come because it was too much for him to handle at his skill level. Joey accepted this then but was a bit upset to see Jak leave. Joey would be patient and wait for his return.

"This time... I am not leaving until I find one..." he said with determination to himself as he traveled towards the mountain. The weather seemed pretty good for the day. He expected to stay there for a few days. Most likely going to linger in the mouth of the caves during the night or bad weather.

As he approached the mountain range, he immediately noticed that the fog had already settled over the bottom of the mountain... The black mist... He sighed heavily at the sight... "This is great..." he said with slight frustration near the base of the mountain range... He knew it would be a few hours before the mist cleared enough for him to travel. It was practically impossible to see. So for now he sat down on the a few of the larger rocks and took some time to think as he waited, keeping an eye out for any movement, an ear out for any sound...

Jak looked up and took the berry, quickly eating it so he can get enough energy to help fight. "Thanks, I needed that" he said with slight pain still in him. "Just got caught off guard" he said as he built some flames to fire towards the Hariyama. It had taken them directly, flinching a little more. "Well, someone doesn't like fire." Jak said with a slight smile. He then built up a larger flame, building it until it eventually turned a wicked bluish white color. He fired this small but incredibly hot flame towards the pokemon, leaving a nasty burn on its arms as it attempted to shield its face.

The pokemon shouted in pain and then went to punch him several times, Jak kept up with it. Dodging each one, jumping back. The last punch though hit him, sent him flying backwards. However he landed on his hind legs. Digging into the ground to stop himself from going further.

The other pokemon then surrounded him. "What I would give for a flamethrower right now." Jak groaned. He then released a thick smoke to prevent them from finding him and Brian.

"No problem man. It's what friends do." Brian said, flad to see thst Jak was okay. He wouldn't want his new compqnion to get a serious ibjury or anything. That would be bad for him, and would mean they may not get to explore as much together. Soon afterwards, Brian once again found himself impressed at the Charmeleon's fighting ability. He had burned the Hariyama effortlessly and dodged almost all of it's punches. It was clear that he had alot of battling experience, something couldn't be replaced with simple learning.

"Yeah, Flamethrower is so much cooler than Ember..." Brian said jokingly, though he did believewhat he said. Flamethrower made more fire, so it was instantly cooler to him. Still, they may not need it in this situation as the Smokescreen protected them from being fully seen. "Let's really get them confused!" Brian said before using Double Team, sending out several clones in multiple directions, making the wild Pokemon annoyed and more confused.

Jak smiled as he stated that, that was what friends do. Brian then stated after a small bit of chitchat after he left the other pokemon in the smoke, "Lets really get them confused!"; Jak nodded in agreement as the fire monkey pokemon sent clones of itself all around in multiple directions, confusing the pokemon and making them very annoyed.

Jak then one by one shot embers at it until they couldn't take anymore and fall down. There was only one left when he couldn't hold his ember attack anymore. Jak didn't notice any of them getting up if they did. He was a bit tired after using that much energy.

"Brian, Last one!" he shouted to the monkey's direction.
At that moment the one caught onto where he was and dashed towards him, fists blazing.

"No you don't!" he stated as he dodged each fist, Then with the last punch it threw, he blasted it with a wicked bluish white flame ^Will-O-Wisp leaving it's fist blackened.

"Ouch, that looks like it hurts." Jak stated as he watched the pokemon grab its hand. It simply glared at him.

Brian saw Jak shoot out tons upon tons of Ember attacks, withering down the other Pokemon distracted by his Double Team clones. When Jak mentioned that only one of them was left, Brian sprung into action and leaped outside of the Smokescreen. His fist became inveloped in flames once again as he thrusted it forward to smack the last Pokemon with a Fire Punch. It left a large burn mark on it's face where he hit, and knocked the Pokemon out, unconscious. "All right, another battle actually won this time!" Brian said as he and Jak had been victorious.

Jak 11

Jak sat down for a moment, watching Brian sort of celebrate their victory. He smiled and remained there for a moment. "One second, I just need to catch my breath. I sometimes overdo it in combat. Seems like I did it with the embers. heheh." Jak said with a slight chuckle. He then looked around for a moment to see if any items were nearby. Sadly, he didn't exactly see any.

"See anything of interest nearby?" Jak asked the chimchar as he remained sitting for a moment. He was almost ready to get going again.

"Oh, okay then, makes sense. It's always good to take a little rest after a hard fought battle. Besides, you must be really tired after all those Ember attacks. Seriously, that was alot man." Brian said as he walked right next to Jak, sitting down as well. He had been a little tired after all the battling the two had been doing as well, so taking a break would do both of them some good. The Chimchar started looking around for items or anything else of interest. It seemed like nothing was around for a while, but eventually Brian could see something in the distance, though he couldn't tell what exactly was over there.

Jak waited for the brian, the flaming monkey to respond. "See something? Jak asked Brian as he turned to look in the direction Brian was. He couldn't make out what he saw, but it seemed like something was moving in that direction. "Whoever it is, it might be wiser to avoid conflict until we regained most of our energy. I don't know if they are hostile or not." he stated as he watched the pokemon in the distance move across his field of vision.

It didn't exactly seem like they saw them. So he decided to remain there for a bit longer to see if they were hostile. "Lets watch them for a moment. See if they are hostile." he stated as he kept his eye on them.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. With all the battling we've done, charging into another one with this many opponents may end up pretty badly." Brian said as he saw the large group of Pokemon come towards them. He looked around to see if there was anything they could use, and eventually found a fairly large rock very close to them. "Hey Jak, let's hide behind that rock over there. It's big enough to block both of us from their vision. We can watch from there." He said, motioning to the rock he found.

Jak nodded in agreement as he saw the pokemon start heading towards them. He made his way behind the large boulder. Keeping a close eye on the direction the pokemon were going. Jak continued to watch the pokemon as they got closer. Remaining hidden behind the boulder, staying hidden. He looked towards Brian to make sure he was alright. Brian seemed to be alright in Jak's eyes.

As the large group of Pokemon approached from that direction, Brian moved with Jak behind the large rock he found before. Those Pokemon didn't seem to see them behind it, which was good considering they were still not in top shape after previous battles. Then suddenly the Chimchar heard something near the wild Pokemon. Looking over the side of the rock, he saw that the largest one of them had feel into some kind of trap hole. "Well, one of those guys got stuck in a trap, so that's good for us." Brian said, smiling at Jak.

Jak {11 + 10 = 21}
Jak looked at brian the moment he said something, Didn't matter if it was important, but those pokemon were to close to even talk without being heard. Jak had a bit of shock on his face as he quickly turned to look at what the pokemon doing. He then quickly ducked behind the boulder as 2 of those pokemon had been looking in their direction. They seemed to have heard them. Those two pokemon started making their way towards the boulder.

'Great...' Jak thought to himself.
He quickly got one of the oran berries out and ate it to get an extra boost of energy before having to fight.

Brian could see the wild Pokemon walking towards the rock the both him and Jak were hiding behind, seeming to have noticed them. Whether it was from the Chimchar stick his head out or telling Jak about the Hariyama falling in the trap hole may not be known, but the fact of the matter is that they may have to engage in battle once again.

"Looks like we may have to have another battle with these guys...better get prepared..." Brian said before chucking an Oran Berry in his mouth, getting some of his energy back. "Alright, I'm feeling a bit better after that. What about you Jak? You think you could go another round?"

Jak {21-5=16}
Jak nodded at the chimchar's question as he readied his flames. He was pumped up with energy due to the impending threat, or maybe the oran berry did this. Either way, he was prepared to fight them.

The only good thing at the moment was the fact, the biggest one was stuck in a hole. Anything other then that. They had to deal with it. "Use your double team ability to surround them, As you move around, blast embers at the ground to ignite it. I will build the wall of flame on this side, We can trap them." Jak whispered to the chimchar before the pokemon got too close.

"Oh, first a makeshift Flamethrower from before and now a makeshift Fire Spin? That's a really good idea man. Alright, let's do it!" Brian said with excitement as he jumped from behind the rock, ready to initiate their plan. He used Double Team to split into several clones of himself, all of the Chimchars running in a circle pattern. This time, instead of just running and jumping around, Brian and his clones used Ember on the ground, the small little flames causing the ground around those wild Pokemon to ignite, just like Jak wanted. Now he waited for his Charmeleon companion to step in and finish their wall of flame.

Jak {16}

Jak fired his embers completed his section of the wall. He immediately shouted to jump in as he jumped towards the group of pokemon after releasing smoke within the circle of fire. The pokemon were now left without sight, and could not escape the circle. He then sent flames towards each pokemon, attempting to leave burns on them to have them flinch as the chimchar could come in for an attack.
