Ruins of Monochrome Falls

Jak {13} ^{-15 from travel}

Jak walked into the open area where the ruins were supposed to be. The area seemed to be completely devoid of them. "Odd... Last time the ruins started here." he said with a slightly curious tone. "I guess they must be further in now..." he finished off.

He wondered why the ruins were deeper somehow. Maybe one of the dungeon flips caused them to shift deeper into the cave. Did that mean that the dungeon expanded?

After a while of walking along the path deeper into the cave he felt the wave of negative energy hit him. 'We are here' he thought as he looked around for the nearest building. He was still wondering where everything was. The cave was completely empty somehow. He then had a though. Maybe the ruins fell downward a bit. By then he felt the ground shift slightly. He jumped backwards as the floor beneath him fell onto a slant. Making a natural ramp to what was below them. Below them were where the ruins were.

Fang walked alongside Jak as he seemed to almost fall for the slant. She stood and slid down to the ruins. "A temple huh" she said as she walked in and looked around. There was some notes on the walls most of them were readable but Fang knew just by reading some parts it was a kids tale on the walls. "So they must of wrote on walls instead of books, weird" she said as she kept moving ready for anything.

Jak noticed the writing on the walls. He looked at Obera as she mentioned the fact they wrote on the walls instead of books. "Yea... It must be pretty old. Last time I came here it was not on a lower floor like this... The dungeon must of shifted at some point knocking it down a level." he stated as he looked towards the walls. Most of it was in foot print runes. Some of it though was in the strange symbols called Unknown Runes. He did not know how to read them though. The tales seemed to be a bit childish in the area. The parts he managed to read.

He continued walking through the halls and came across an odd opening in a wall. It was perfectly cut out in a square. "Think we should go in?" he asked her as he had not seen this kind of entrance before last time he came.

Fang looked at the unknown Runes for a second. "It's a list of names. It might be the list of some pokemon who used to live here" she said able to read unknown runes. She used to study these things all the time so reading it was easy. "Nothing important though shall we continue" she asked as she walked onward into the dungeon.

Jak looked at the runes once more before she stated there was nothing important on there. After they he continued to walk along the path. When he looked back towards the spot where the door had been. That perfectly cut door. It seemed to be gone. "Weird..." he said to himself. 'Must of been an illusion...' he thought as he looked back towards the direction they were walking. It was pretty clear that the dungeon had changed since last time he came.

Obera closed her eye's to think. "I wonder what the reason they built this here, did they build it on top and as they years went by the cave formed around it from earthquakes. Or did they build it in a cave to hide it. Sometimes these things are fascinating" she said quietly to herself as she walked. She looked at the area her cold eye's scanning the area ready for anything to come at them.

"I was wondering why it was built here in the first place. Being in a mystery dungeon in all... The only thought I could think of is that this used to not be a mystery dungeon. Just a normal cave like the falls themselves where." He added his thought in it. He said this because he had seen a place that used to be normal suddenly shift into one of those mystery dungeons.

"Or the actual cave was always a dungeon considering how big it is. And someone built a temple here feeling like it was a safe spot to build. Some are happy for a bit but then the feral pokemon come out and attack forcing them to leave" she said thinking that could be the reason. She was born in a mystery Dungeon so she knew some pokemon built things in them. She didn't know why nor how but they did.

Jak took in the thought. It made a lot of sense considering the size. "Well. The further we go in. You might see what exactly happened to those buildings." he said as he remembered that the majority of them were collapsed last time he was here. There was only one last time that was not a building that he saw was in almost perfect condition. It was an odd giant cube with the unknown runes written all over it.

Fang looked around for anything out of place. She assumed the Feral pokemon would of broke more things here but it didn't seem to bad. She gave a small shrug and walked on. She took note of some item's but ignored them because they seemed to be no use to them. She did look at some unknown Runes but quickly looked away and walked on.

Jak noticed the TM along the path as they walked. He picked up the item as they passed it and put it in his bag for later. He did not want to fall behind. He looked around for a moment to see if anything else was in the area as they walked. He did not notice much at all. However in the distance you can see what appeared to be partial walls up ahead. They were crumbling apart. Once they got closer they would possibly see the fallen roof's.

Fang looked at the walls then noticed some cracks along the side. She put her arm in front of Jak to stop him as large rocks fall and block the area in front of them. "This place is falling apart" she said as she looked for a alternative path. She then saw some stairs and pointed at them. "Over there" she said as she walked.

Jak noticed the path had parts of the wall and ceiling fall down in front of them. The cracks were getting bigger and crawling towards them along the walls. Fang stated the place was falling apart. She then pointed to a set of stairs and walked towards them. Jak nodded as she pointed to the stairs. The cracks were not getting too close to them yet. There was no need to rush just yet. So he followed calmly. With that they climbed the stairs to stairs. As they had went up the stairs, the stairs closed off and sealed them on that floor. "err Obera..." he said as he looked at where the stairs used to have been. He then heard a sound of stone grinding against stone slowly.

Fang looked back to see the stairs were gone. She gave a annoyed sigh as she looked around the area. "Well then, guess we will have their find another way or wait for the dungeon to shift" she said as she felt a bit light headed. She shook this s off easy but she wondered why she felt like that. Might if just been the fact she hadn't slept in two days.

Jak was still searching for the source of the sound. He then heard Fang state that they should find another way or wait for a dungeon shift. A dungeon shift is not the most pleasant thing to go through in this dungeon. It tended to involve a earthquake... He then spotted one of the walls moving towards them in the distance. It was slowly picking up speed. "We need to move!" he stated as he pointed towards the wall. He started to run in the other direction. The other direction of the wall seemed to look like a long hallway. He sure as hell hoped it did not result in a dead end.
