With The Odds Against You

Lumina, you've just been full of bright ideas lately, haven't you.

Her own thought dryly chastised her as the six-tailed fox stood outside the entrance to Serene Cave. Despite the guild badge, treasure bag and wonder map poking out of the before mentioned bag, she wasn't here on a mission. No, she had decided to give herself a small break from her guild work.

She was here for something else. To grow stronger. To satisfy her curiosity. To come where she hadn't come before, in an attempt to learn about the world around her. Or maybe she was just here to entertain herself. What could she say, she enjoyed a good challenge now and then. Most likely, it was a little bit of all these reasons combined.

Her head held high, the Vulpix stood outside the cave regally, her ears perked attentively. She stepped inside, the cool air inside replacing the warmth that the sun left on her fur, and for some reason she couldn't quite explain, this gave Lumina a chill down her spine.

Noel goes back and grabs the rock and slams it shut so nothing could get in but lumina said she would keep guard thinking something was up Noel reached into her bag and placed a small bandage near lumina close so she could see "just in case" Noel said as she went over to the far end of the cave

Where did she get a bandage? Ugh... she really is a psychic, isn't she. Lumina thought, feeling slightly annoyed that her friend was onto her. The entire reason she tried to hide this was so that she wouldn't be a burden, and here Noel was, offering her things. She debated with herself over whether or not to use it as she placed another paw over her bleeding one, remembering that it was a good idea to put pressure on a wound.

Noel went over to her side of the cave and sat down she had sensed the wound with her aura she really did love having it even if it left her drained all of the time as Noel sat down making sure to avoid any and all rocks as she closed her eyes and let the darkness engulf her

Seeing that the Riolu was asleep, Lumina removed her other paw, looking back at the wounded one. The cut wasn't too large, but it was still oozing blood, and would continue doing so for who knew how long. She put her other paw back over it, glancing back at the bandage. "How am I supposed to use those without thumbs, anyways..." She muttered, her ears flattening. She could probably manage, if she had to, but she wasn't going to die from a little cut. ... unless it got infected, but that was another story entirely.

Noel was happily asleep as she starts to calmly breath in and out then she grabbed the bag like normal and gave it a crushing death hug as she then sighed and passed out farther into the embrace of rest

Her gaze travelled around the small room they were in, blocked off by a large rock. She saw the faint shape of Noel sitting against the further side of the wall, crushing something that looked like her bag. But there was nothing else noteworthy about this room, save for the large rock blocking the way in and out of it.

It'll stop bleeding on it's own by morning. Lumina finally decided, seeing no reason to worry Noel over this. It was no more serious than an everyday scrape that young Pokemon got while they were playing around, and sometimes it was a blessing to get away so lightly injured in a Mystery Dungeon. So she turned her attention to their makeshift door, making sure that nothing tried moving it.

Noel was fast asleep until something inside of her the memories she had started to come at full fury she remembered everything bad that happened to her ever time she had seen something happen with her mother until it stopped on her old friend as she woke up with a start she wanted to scream but she kept that in her eye seemed to be crying as she stopped that also and wiped the tears happy it was dark she didn't want anyone to see her cry though she had not found sleep for long still better then none

Lumina was resting her head on the ground, keeping a watchful eye on the door. She'd shaken off most of her tiredness when she cut herself on that rock, but it could only ward off her natural desire to sleep for so long. She couldn't quite tell how long she'd been standing guard, having no way to tell the time besides her instincts, which had already been thrown off by not seeing the sky for a day or two.

Noel walked over to lumina she wasn't going to be able to sleep for a while after that whole thing as she sits.down next to the vulpix and sighs "eh I couldn't sleep so might as well stand guard" Noel says as she motions to lumina "you should get some rest" she says with a small smirk as she hears scratching at the rock but after some time it stopped

Lumina perked her ears, hearing something scratching at the rock. Her brown eyes focused on it quickly, ready to strike if whatever it was managed to get through, but it stopped quickly. The Vulpix was a bit puzzled as it what had been trying to get through to them, but she didn't really care to find out. "Alright. Thanks, Noel, I guess I'll get some rest." She agreed. She was unsure of how long the Riolu had been awake, but she didn't mind taking her up on her offer.

Noel sits calmly down looking at the large rock that was in front of her she would of tried to meditate but the darkness of the cave and stillness of the air would make it almost impossible to get in a good area of focus as she sighs and watches the door trying to sort out her feelings about the nightmare

Lumina shifted her body carefully so it was covering her wounded hind paw. At least it had stopped bleeding by now. She rested her head on her forepaws, her chest slowly rising and falling as she drifted off to sleep. She had removed her Treasure Bag and instead propped it against the cave's wall, knowing that it wouldn't have been comfortable to wear while she was trying to get some sleep.

Noel was sitting with her back to the wall o me leg out the other bent as she had one arm on the bent leg and one at her side as she started at the door it had taken her some time but she had managed to drive the memories away from.her mind as she sat in the darkness to afraid to sleep was afraid the right word she didn't feel afraid of it but she did feel saddened her thoughts continued along this line as she started at the door rock

Lumina was, once more, padding through a dark city. She walked past many different Pokemon, some she recognised, most she didn't. But none of them were walking the same way she was, and as they vanished from her vision, they turned to dust behind her. Carried away by a chilly night breeze, one which made the vixen shiver.

Don't live in her shadow. Those words hung over the dream like a ghost haunting a city, and the Vulpix saw them everywhere. A piece of graffiti on a wall. A slogan of some sort on a sign. When she caught a fleeting glimpse of the sky above her, the stars were in those words. Finally fed up with this, Lumina snapped. "What are you trying to tell me?!" She called, venom in her tone. But there was no one to hear her.

Noel had drifted her vision from the door to lumina she was on the ground but she looked strange as if something was going down in her dreams as Noel decided to get up and slowly walked over lumina sitting down silently as she sat next to the vulpix.

Noel looked up at the ceiling she didn't know why but she felt like doing something she couldn't go into her dream and find out but maybe just having someone near would do something 'that is moronic and you know it Noel' her mind said to her but she still decided to sit next to her
