With The Odds Against You

Lumina, you've just been full of bright ideas lately, haven't you.

Her own thought dryly chastised her as the six-tailed fox stood outside the entrance to Serene Cave. Despite the guild badge, treasure bag and wonder map poking out of the before mentioned bag, she wasn't here on a mission. No, she had decided to give herself a small break from her guild work.

She was here for something else. To grow stronger. To satisfy her curiosity. To come where she hadn't come before, in an attempt to learn about the world around her. Or maybe she was just here to entertain herself. What could she say, she enjoyed a good challenge now and then. Most likely, it was a little bit of all these reasons combined.

Her head held high, the Vulpix stood outside the cave regally, her ears perked attentively. She stepped inside, the cool air inside replacing the warmth that the sun left on her fur, and for some reason she couldn't quite explain, this gave Lumina a chill down her spine.

Noel was running at full speed at the exit as she had to kick some of the Pokemon away but she had made it she stopped just before the way that lead out and waited for lumina to arrive

The Vulpix took a deep breath before running forward, dashing towards the light. She squinted at first, having not seen a natural light for three days and two nights, but she had other things to focus on. Mainly dodging the feral Pokemon who tried to block her, presumably guarding a pair of items scattered on the ground.

Maybe if she was running at her average speed, they could've been able to catch her. But with Lumina running at twice her normal speed, she darted past them, feeling as swift as the wind. She didn't stop until she felt sunlight touch her fur, a slightly smug smile crossing her face as she saw the feral Pokemon glares behind her.

Noel gave a sigh of relief when she got through the cave and sunlight was around not seeing it for three days well kinda made her happy so see it as she looked at lumina "well that was long" Noel says with a small laugh and her normal smirk

"Agreed. But we made it, somehow." The vixen looked back into the cave, not bothering to return the feral Pokémon's glare. She was just glad to be out, for the moment, feeling a new appreciation for the sun's light. "I've heard that Rainfront Town's on the other side of that cave... so I suppose this must be where we are now." She murmured, glancing around at her new surroundings.

Noel looks around the area and spots a tree as she uses it to climb up she then scouts the area then her eyes lock on the town as she jumps down "it's pretty close come on let's go" Noel says with a smirk as she starts moving

The Vulpix nodded, having no complaints about seeing civilisation again. She'd heard a bit about Rainfront, but no more than that many water types lived there and that it had a nice beach nearby. She'd also heard rumors of some Mystery Dungeons around it, but she knew to take rumors with a grain of salt.

Noel threw her arms to the back of her head and walked along lumina she kinda got dragged into this but she decided that it was a good thing she loved exploring and also like being around friends so this worked in favor for her

The vixen paused, thinking things over, keeping up a brisk pace as they approached the town. "So, Noel," She began, tilting her head curiously. "How much do you know about Rainfront?" She hadn't been here before, so perhaps her friend held some more information. Maybe she had even come here before.

Noel paused for a second she had gone around town to learn about other areas but nothing but basic info she decided that was better then nothing "some people told me it is a coastal town it also has some type of dream catcher service if my memory serves me right" she says as she shrugs "all of that is just what other had told me sorry I can't be more helpful"

"A dream catcher service... how much have you heard about it?" With her newly recurring dream, this instantly sparked the vixen's interest. Maybe these Pokemon could help her with it. Of course, she couldn't tell much about them just from a name - they could be anything from experts on dreams to Pokemon who sold those little charms that supposedly helped keep away nightmares.

Noel looks up for a second then back at lumina "well this is a rumor so don't take it to the hundred percent till we get there but" she paused for a bit to think "I heard they go into a dream and have you face the nightmare" she says thinking it sounded strange but it was what she heard "but another one I heard was they allow you to Lucid dream so you can uncover some stuff about your past" she adds might as well have both rumors

Lumina decided not to get her hopes up over a simple rumor, but this seemed like an opportunity that was too good to miss out on. Maybe she could handle that recurring dream, or even find another way to gain some experience. Silently calculating all the new doors this opened, the Vulpix nodded to Noel, acknowledging that she heard her reply.

Noel put her arms back up to the back of her head scarf swinging left and right "ya might seem like something to check out" Noel says as she follows lumina to the town knowing she was putting hope in the rumor Noel had told her

The Vulpix tilted her head, listening to the faint beating of water from somewhere in the distance. "Perhaps we should split up from here." She decided, looking back at her partner. "We could each go our separate ways to explore the town. ... besides, I'm sure you're sick of me after three straight days."

Noel looks at lumina and just gives her normal smirk "nah of could spend way more time with a good friend" she says as she gives her smirk not even bothering to try to joke truth is she was worried about lumina with the two nightmares she had Noel was slightly worried about her friend "lumina" Noel says as she looks down she remembered not to press the matter as she shakes her head "never mind" she says as she starts to walk Way.
