The Warrior's Return - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: The Warrior's Return   The Warrior's Return - Page 2 EmptySun Feb 23, 2014 10:21 pm

First topic message reminder :

It was a pleasantly warm day despite the sky not nearly being so clear as to call it cloudless, and in the warm air an Oshawott had opted to head into Grassveil Town. Violet had no clients scheduled for a training session on ths particular day and so had opted to take advantage of the free time to head down to the old disused dojo that still lay on the other side of Grassveil's outskirts.
The building had been left nearly a year ago if the rumours Violet had heard around town were true. It was a shame really. If she'd have known there had previously been a dojo here before she'd constructed her own she would have attempted to get the permissions to renovate the old building rather than leaving it there to grow old and gather dust.
The reason Violet liked to visit the old building despite it's abandoned state were the plants that grew along the buildings walls. Vines had taken over months ago, intertwined with plants that under specific circumstances would grow rarer types of berries. It was these berries that she was here for.

Looking upon the old building, she frowned. Though it was definitely a useful source of those rarer berries for her, she really didn't enjoy seeing the building so abandoned. Whenever she'd come to pick berries, she'd often find herself wondering why the owner left in the first place. A few times she'd asked around trying to find the answer, but to no avail. The townspeople only seemed to know small tidbits of information about the former owner.

Approaching the building, Violet scanned the vines for ripe fruits that she could pick. Spotting a few higher up on the outside of the building, she used short bursts of her Water Gun move, attempting to dislodge the berries from their stems so that they would fall to where she stood waiting to catch them below. She could probably have scaled the side of the building using the vines if she tried, but was cautious and had opted not to lest the vines be less sturdy than they appeared.

Enzu inspected the Persim berries and considered what Violet said, he would keep the idea in mind once he started to make the tea. Enzu had also figured that is was enough time resting around here and he should go inside the dojo to see if his sleeping quarters needed any maintenance needed to be done. "It was nice meeting you Violet," he said, "But if you will excuse me I am going to head inside and see what shape the inside of the building is in."

"You two," replied Violet with a smile. The young Oshawott watched the Pawniard turn to head into the old dojo, before she remembered something and called out to him.
"Oh! Hold on a second," she blinked, "Uhm. Since you're the owner of this dojo, I assume you must have some skills of your own. I'd love to see what sort of techniques you use... perhaps in a spar or something?" suggested Violet. She hoped that she could learn a thing or two from the more experienced dojo master.

Enzu turned around when Violet called out to him. "I don't see why not," Enzu said, "It would be nice to see what kind of skills you have since your the new dojo owner." Enzu then gestured toward the inside of the dojo, "Why don't you come on inside and we can use the sparring ground of the dojo. Even if it's overrun with vines that would make the match more dynamic." he said.

Violet chuckled lightly and nodded, "Alright then!"
The Oshawott then followed the Pawniard inside of his old dojo, tucking her little basket full of the berries she had collected under some of the weeds and vines still growing on the outside of the building. Violet didn't particularly want her hard work at picking them going to waste due to an accidentally mis-aimed attack.

As Enzu walked into the dojo he stopped before leaving the first room and looked at the Arceus statue that was sitting in the back of the room. He walked over to it and observed it closely, "I'm glad this statue is at least still in one piece," he said. Enzu looked at the thin layer of dust that covered the statue, "It could use some cleaning, but at least I won't have to replace it." Enzu then looked back to Violet, "Sorry for getting distracted," he said, "It's just obviously been a long time since I have been inside here."

"It's fine!" smiled the Oshawott cheerfully, her blue gaze resting upon the large, majestic looking statue of Arceus that had by some miracle remained completely intact. Moving over to it, Violet gently blew on it's stony surface, disturbing a layer of thick dust.
"Cleaning, definitely. It looks like a very well made statue though," she commented, with a small cough as she breathed in the dust she had disturbed.

Enzu blinked a small amount extra then normal when Violet blew the dust off of the statue into the air. Once he got the dust out of his eyes he nodded at Violet's comment and said, "Yes, my grandfather, who was a Kadabra, worked with my grandmother on all four of the statues that are in the building. They are a creation of both of their skills." Enzu then turned to Violet and gestured the opening that was the entrance to the main area of the dojo, "Shall we head into the training field and begin our match?" he asked.

"Your dojo certainly holds quite a history within it's walls then," replied Violet with a small smile before the Oshawott nodded and headed towards where Enzu had gestured.
"That sounds like a plan," she grinned, good naturedly. She couldn't wait to see what techniques the Pawniard would use during their battle. Neither had an evident weakness to the other either, so it was definitely going to be a case of strength and strategy.

Enzu walked out into the main training field of his home. From here he was able to see a good amount of the buildings interior. Enzu looked around at the damage that his house had sustained during his absence. The insides of the walls had some vines coming over them, but it was not too much that he wouldn't be able to clear all of them in a day or so. As for the field itself, there did not seem to be much damage done to the field. The stones had grown darker and there was an occasional weed or flower that had taken root in between the large stones. Enzu figured that with enough effort and time he could restore the floor to its original color. He then turned to face Violet and said, "I will head to other side of the field, and when you are ready we can begin." Enzu then started to walk over to the other side of the field so that he and Violet could have their match.

Violet nodded to the Pawniard before taking a moment to analyse the field. She noted how rocky it was, stones having been placed across the area, littering the perfectly clear battlefield with obstacles that would both serve as a hindrance and an advantage depending on how they were used.
When she was happy with her quick scan of Enzu's training field, the Oshawott moved to her chosen starting position and readied herself for their friendly battle.
"Ready!" she called out, eager to get started so that she could learn a thing or two from their match.

Once Enzu reached the edge of the field that he planned on fighting from, he turned to face Violet and took a ready stance to indicate that he was ready to begin the match. Enzu then waited promptly for Violet to take her time and observe the field, he took note that she took time to observe the field and he knew that meant she might have a strategy, fighting a pokemon that puts thought into a fight was going to be different from all the feral pokemon that Enzu faces while he was traveling.

Once Violet called out that she was ready, Enzu began to charge a pair of Psycho Cut's on his blades as his opening attack. He made sure to still focus on Violet and keep light on his toes, that way if she suddenly came at him or used a ranged attack he could easily side step or move in the necessary direction.

After announcing that she was ready, the Pawniard had begun to use one of his moves. Judging from the effects it had on his naturally bladed arms, Violet deduced it to be a prepared Psycho Cut move. Opting to keep to her ranged attacks for the time being, the Oshawott merely began with a Water Gun, hopping up onto one of the rocks before loosing a powerful burst of water and spray towards Enzu on the other side of the field.

As Enzu was running toward Violet, she hopped up on top of one of the larger rocks and used a Water Gun attack. Before dodging to the side, Enzu quickly launched one of the Psycho Cut's at the rock that Violet was standing on so that he could throw her off balance. Once he had launched the blade of Psychic energy, Enzu continued to run forward but dodged to the left. he narrowly evaded the water gun as he stepped to the side.

Violet's next movements were masked by the smoky debris that had been flung into the air from the broken rock after Enzu had used Psycho Cut to knock her off balance and make her Water Gun less accurately aimed. The Oshawott used this cover to her advantage, her paws glowing a pale white before they took on a purplish aura. As Enzu drew closer, Violet located his direction using the sound of his footsteps. She then leaped from the dust cloud, using her own version of Psycho Cut through her Copycat move. The purple hued psychic blade was launched straight towards the still running Pawniard.

From the cloud of dust that formed Enzu saw a purple blade of energy come flying towards him. Enzu guessed that this was Violet's own form of Psycho Cut. He was not sure how she knew that move, he was not aware that pokemon of her kind could learn that more. It was possible that Violet knew a move that allowed her to replicate others, but since the dust cloud blocked her from his site Enzu could not be sure. Enzu also guessed that since Violet tried to use Psychic move on him, she did not know that it would have no effect.

Using this to his advantage, Enzu moved just out of the direction of the Psycho Cut, making it seem like he dodged the attack, and then launched his second Psycho Cut in the direction that Violet's Psycho Cut came from.
