The Warrior's Return Empty
PostSubject: The Warrior's Return   The Warrior's Return EmptySun Feb 23, 2014 10:21 pm

It was a pleasantly warm day despite the sky not nearly being so clear as to call it cloudless, and in the warm air an Oshawott had opted to head into Grassveil Town. Violet had no clients scheduled for a training session on ths particular day and so had opted to take advantage of the free time to head down to the old disused dojo that still lay on the other side of Grassveil's outskirts.
The building had been left nearly a year ago if the rumours Violet had heard around town were true. It was a shame really. If she'd have known there had previously been a dojo here before she'd constructed her own she would have attempted to get the permissions to renovate the old building rather than leaving it there to grow old and gather dust.
The reason Violet liked to visit the old building despite it's abandoned state were the plants that grew along the buildings walls. Vines had taken over months ago, intertwined with plants that under specific circumstances would grow rarer types of berries. It was these berries that she was here for.

Looking upon the old building, she frowned. Though it was definitely a useful source of those rarer berries for her, she really didn't enjoy seeing the building so abandoned. Whenever she'd come to pick berries, she'd often find herself wondering why the owner left in the first place. A few times she'd asked around trying to find the answer, but to no avail. The townspeople only seemed to know small tidbits of information about the former owner.

Approaching the building, Violet scanned the vines for ripe fruits that she could pick. Spotting a few higher up on the outside of the building, she used short bursts of her Water Gun move, attempting to dislodge the berries from their stems so that they would fall to where she stood waiting to catch them below. She could probably have scaled the side of the building using the vines if she tried, but was cautious and had opted not to lest the vines be less sturdy than they appeared.

The Warrior's Return Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Warrior's Return   The Warrior's Return EmptySun Feb 23, 2014 10:55 pm

Enzu walked through the woods just outside of Grassveil Town. If his memory served him correctly he should arrive at the back end of his dojo, but he had been away traveling for about a year so he wasn't exactly sure. If he ended up missing it then he would just end up in the town and would re-collect his bearings.

As he was walking towards the dojo he reached up and felt the small chip in his forehead blade. The damage had occurred only about a month ago when he encountered a rampaging herd of Durant's and he was still getting used to it being there. He wondered if the scar would remain after he evolved or if it would heal, but even with his year of travel evolution was a long time away so he usually didn't think about it.

The occasional ray of sun would peak through the tree tops in the forest, causing some areas to lighten up and practically glow. As Enzu continued walking he eventually spotted the rear wall of his dojo. When he saw it he was filled with a sensation of relief that he was finally home after being away for so long. He wondered if anyone in town had missed him while he was gone, or if there was a whole new group of people who had never met him.

Upon reaching the back wall Enzu went up and placed his hand ((or blade? I don't know XD)) on the back wall and looked at its condition. Besides the vines that covered the wall, he figured that it was still in pretty good shape, but it would definitely take some time to clear the building of all the flora that had grown freely during his travels. Enzu then began to walk along with wall towards the front of the dojo. As he walked along the side wall he heard some noise coming from the front of the dojo. He figured it was some pokemon and also assumed that they weren't hostile, this was Grassveil after all.

Enzu rounded the corner to the front of the dojo and noticed an Oshawott shooting water at berries that had been growing on the vines. He waited till she had stopped shooting water to speak, "Hello there, who might you be?" he asked.

The Warrior's Return Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Warrior's Return   The Warrior's Return EmptySun Feb 23, 2014 11:24 pm

With short bursts of water here and there, Violet disturbed the berries one by one until each of them fell. She had however neglected to take into consideration the timing at which each berry might fall and found herself having to quick dash from side to side to catch each one and prevent it from becoming bruised by dropping heavily onto the ground below. The final berry had been too far away to reach as it fell and so the Oshawott used another burst of water to propel it back up into the air so she had adequate time to catch it. With a sigh of relief and a small chuckle to herself at her mistake, she caught the last of the berries and tucked it neatly into the bag she carried, along with the others.

It was then that Violet heard the Pawniard's voice as he spoke.
"Oh, hello," she smiled, having not realised he was there due to her focus primarily being on the berries she had been trying to catch. She realised that he'd probably been stood there for at least part of the time, watching her as she darted around trying to catch each berry. She reached up to the lilac flower that was tucked behind one ear and brushed it's delicate petals out of habit due to a slight embarrassment she felt at the situation she found herself in. Quickly putting the thought at bay she politely replied to the Pawniard, introducing herself.
"I'm Violet," she replied cheerfully, "what's your name?"

Enzu chuckled slightly after watching Violet scramble to catch all of the falling berries. When she turned to address him he noticed that she had reached for her Lilic flower before speaking. Once she introduced herself he said, "It's nice to meet you Violet." Enzu then stood in a formal stance for a bow, "My name is Enzu, it is a pleasure to meet you," he said as he bowed. Once he came up he said, "I would invite you inside for some tea, but I'm not to sure of the state of my home's inside, or of the state of the tea." He had a slightly embarrassed smile as he finished his sentence, normally he would have happily invited her inside but he knew he probably shouldn't.

"You too.." replied the Oshawott trailing off in surprise at the formal bow that the Pawniard accompanied his words with.
At the Pawniard's -Enzu's- next words, Violet blinked in realisation, glancing from Enzu to the old building, "Wait. You must be this dojo's previous owner then," she deduced aloud. With a broader smile she looked back to the Pawniard, "Well in that case it's even more of a pleasure to meet you, though, these berries technically belong to you and I apologise for taking them," she pointed out with a hesitant chuckle.

"Don't worry about it," Enzu said. He looked at the vines that covered the outside wall, "I've been away for a year, so the berries belong to the vines more then they do to me." He then swung his arm and cut one of the vines so that it fell to the ground. As the vine fell he let out a sigh, "Cleaning these off is going to take quite some time," he said. Enzu then turned his attention towards Violet, "I don't remember you being in Grassveil back when I left," he said, "How long have you been living here?" he asked.

The Oshawott watched as Enzu used the blades he had in the place of paws to slice a section of the vines so that a few of the stems found themselves toppling over, top heavy to the rest of the plant and dragging other parts with it towards the ground.

"Only about six months or so," replied Violet, removing her bag from her person and placing it on the ground nearby so that she could try and help the Pawniard in removing the vines from his old building. Gently she tugged on the vines, dislodging them from where they had wound around each other and onto the building's brickwork until another one fell to the ground.

"Ah so you've been here for awhile," Enzu said as he continued to cut at the vines. He was going slowly and making careful cuts so that he could continue his conversation with Violet. "So Violet, do you do any work around the town? Or are you a rescue explorer with the guild?" he asked. As Enzu continued to make cuts he noticed that a pile of vines was slowly beginning to form.

As Violet would tear down the vines that plagued the outside of the building, she would find the occasional ripe berry among their twisted branches. She would tuck these berries into her bag, making a mental note to start growing them in her own garden now that the ones here would no longer be available to gather easily.
"I actually own a dojo of my own across town," replied the Oshawott with a nervous smile. She didn't want to make the returned Pawniard feel unneeded, but also knew she couldn't just give up her passion for helping others. Violet was also very curious as to what training techniques Enzu would have exercised when he had run his own dojo building.

Enzu was actually glad when he heard Violet say that she ran a dojo, since he had left all of the sudden there was no one really in town that would train people. So since she was running a dojo he was glad that the baton ended up getting passed onto someone. "Oh okay," Enzu said, "I'm glad to hear that. The people of Grassveil need someone to train them, if neither of us did our job how would they ever learn anything? ((horrible attempt at a joke))" Enzu chuckled at his own joke since it fit into his own sense of humor.

He then looked at the pile of vines that had formed and decided to leave his work at that for now, so that the pile wouldn't become more work then the clearing. Part of the front wall was now visibly free of vines, but he would still have a lot of work to do before clearing the rest of the building.

The Oshawott relaxed a little knowing that Enzu didn't feel threatened by her own dojo and activities. She hadn't known of the presence of the old dojo until a good few months after she'd moved to Grassveil, but still felt guilty for taking over the Pawniard's former source of work.
Violet chuckled at the joke Enzu made before she continued removing the vine she had been working on. Finally dislodging it completely from the building's brickwork, a large chunk of the plantlife collapsed upon itself, collecting in a pile on the ground. Picking up a few of the berries from them, she called out to Enzu.
"Do you want some of these berries?" she asked, "I mean... I can't use them all anyway," she smiled.

Enzu walked over to Violet to take a look at the berries in her bag. After inspecting them Enzu began to say, "Hm... thank you but I will have to decline," he said, "Most of these look good but unfortunately I don't know how to make tea out of any of these." Enzu then looked at the other berries that still lined the top of the vines that stuck to the dojo walls, he figured that he could practice making tea with the remaining berries. "And I will make sure to collect some of the berries and bring them over to you some time, that way they don't all go to waist," he said.

Violet smiled warmly to the Pawniard, "Thankyou! I'll have to make sure they all go to good use. The ones I don't use personally i'll probably cook in a pie or something and give it to the members of the Guild," she chuckled, grateful for Enzu's kindness, "You could always try making tea from the leaves on the plants the berries come from," she then went on to suggest, hoping to help Enzu in return.

Enzu turned back to Violet, "That's how I usually make the tea," he said. He leaned down and stabbed a stray Persim berry that was sitting on the ground with his hand-blade and brought it up to face level. "But my father and grandfather had special recipes for different types of tea that incorporated different parts of the berry," he said, "Each recipe was different. For instance, letting the pit of Pecha berry ((Im assuming that they're like Peaches and have pits)) soak in the tea for a bit adds to the strength of the flavor, while mixing a chesto tea with its stem adds to its calming effects." Enzu inspected the Persim berry carefully, "I'm not exactly sure what I should use with Persim berry so I will have to experiment with the tea.

"Interesting," replied Violet with a small smile. She was quite partial to the taste of tea herself and wondered how much better these sorts of specialised brews would be to the normal type that she and other tea lovers made for themselves. Perhaps she'd try some someday, but not today.
"You could try using the calyx found within the fruit," suggested the Oshawott after a short pause.
