Serious Shinigami Shenanigans

A young girl with pale brown hair tied in a ponytail, wandered down the hallway of the Shin'ō Academy (or as the locals called it: the Shinigami Academy) in her white and red uniform. Her destination was the board upon which the school posted important messages and information. She was incredibly nervous. After taking the entrance exam for the academy, she was about to find out whether or not she had gained a place at the school.

With the board finally in sight, Kiyomi stopped walking all of a sudden. She couldn't quite see anything that was written, but her nerves seemed to have gotten the better of her. What if she didn't get a high enough score? What if she would have to wait to retry the entrance exam? She was never this nervous about anything and it felt unnatural to her. But her mind focused on one thing; if she didn't get into the academy, what if she hurt her friend again?

As these thoughts crept into her already nervous mind, a group of other students wandered past her, evidently headed for the board. Kiyomi stood for a moment and watched, waiting to see what their results were. Judging from the large smiles that were passed around the group shortly after, they had succeeded. With a small sigh, Kiyomi closed her eyes, still standing in the middle of the hall.
"Alright, pull yourself together Kiyomi," she thought to herself, trying to pluck up the courage to move forward, "You'll never find out how you did if you just stand here."

Opening her teal blue eyes and nervously twisting a hand through her wavy, pale-brown ponytail, she took a few steps forward until she was stood in front of the large board. Glancing at it, she scanned all of the pinned up papers, looking for the correct one. Finding the list of students who had taken the exam, she scanned down it for her name:

Shiratori Kiyomi.... Pass

All of her former nervousness evaporated instantly and a wide grin spread over her face as she read the result. The sheet neglected to mention scores, possibly out of respect for those students who had failed, however Kiyomi didn't really care. She had passed!
There was a small note pinned to the entrance exam results telling everyone who had passed to find their name on one of the class lists and prepare for their first lessons. Nodding to herself, Kiyomi began to scan each of the lists, looking for the class she had been put into.

"Sure," she blinked before her attention snapped to the voice she had heard from inside the room. She raised an eyebrow at the tone in which the suggestion had been voiced, "What a pervert," she chuckled before getting to her feet. There wouldn't be much time left until their two minutes or so were over.
"I wonder how much harder this would be if everyone had different zanpakuto rather than just Asauchi," she mused out loud.

"It probably would not be any different other than more serious wounds, cooler moves, and the destruction of the entire school,"
Rake laughed at the thought, but bringing up the Zanpakuto subject was still a sore spot for him. He still only saw a desert with a sandstorm in the distance when he meditated. He had tried moving towards the sandstorm but it seemed like it retreated as he advanced. The shinigami leaned against the wall, and listened as the students resorted to an all out brawl as the teacher spoke, "40 seconds".

Kiyomi laughed at the thought of the entire school being leveled due to the carelessness of the advanced class, "I guess you're right." She continued to chuckle, "They'd probably never let us hear the end of it, either."
Kiyomi's own progress with her zanpakuto was not much better than Rakeshisu's. She always appeared on the icy field, though sometimes she was content enough to just roam that frosty meadow. It was peaceful, despite how cold it was.

"Annnd TIME. Wherever you two are please come out," The teacher spoke.
"More like in," Rake spoke as he opened the door to the class. He was surprised to see just how much the students had beaten each other up, for a majority of them were laying on the floor. The ones who were conscious were glaring at them in hatred and disbelief.
"The egg?" the teacher asked.

Kiyomi chuckled as she entered the room behind Rakeshisu, the egg in hand as she held it up so their teacher could see that it was intact with not even a crack made on it's white surface.
"Congratulations, you both did very well," the teacher said, even cracking a small smile, "That was very creative of you."
He paused before turning to the rest of the class, "However none of you can use the same trick just to get out of class," he glared at the half beaten up students before he wandered over to Kiyomi and took the egg back.
"Alright, next pair."

"Heh, brutal," Rake commented, "Half the class is beaten to crud and yet he continues on with it. Do you want to just sneak out now or wait until after this class?"
The red haired shinigami watched as two exhausted students tried to stand and take their egg since the last pair stood and fell ONTO their egg, crushing it and failing...

After the failings of this third pair, the teacher sighed, "Alright we aren't gonna make any progress with you all beat up like this. Class dismissed. I'll fetch the school healers and get the rest of you patched up."
Kiyomi blinked as the irritated teacher dismissed the class before promptly heading out of the room to fetch the healers that constantly remained on the academy's campus.
"Well looks like that decision was made for us," she replied with a small smile, "C'mon. I think those sixth years have Zanjutsu now so if we can catch them meditating perhaps we can finally figure out which of them planted the bait for the hollows."

"Yeah, Let's-"
"Rake stay after I need to speak with you."
"Damn it.." Rake cursed as the teacher called him, "Go on without me, i'll meet you there," he sighed as he approached the teacher.
The teacher suddenly began to babble about how he never used to have a worse student than Rake and Tora had been, "But when Tora died you seem to become one of the best!" he seemed to be happy, "Just wanted to say keep up the good work, who knows you might get in to the gotei"
Rake glared at the teacher with a poker face, praising him, then rubbing salt into the wound that Tora had to die in order for it to happen. This teacher was either cruel or stupid...

"Uhm.. okay, see you there then," blinked Kiyomi as Rakeshisu was kept behind so that the teacher could talk about various matters. Deciding that waiting around would only be a waste of time, she did as Rake has suggested and went on ahead.

As expected, the sixth years were currently in their zanjutsu lesson, however instead of meditating they appeared to be sparring in pairs.
Eh at least it's only pairs, she thought to herself, picking a shadowed corner to hide herself in, it'll still be easier than before.
Broadening her senses, she attempted to feel the faint spiritual power of each of the sixth year students. She closed her eyes, hoping that by doing that she'd be able to sense things more accurately. As she delved her senses through the sparring sixth year students, she located one whose reiatsu felt familiar. It's not that one, she thought to herself, opening her eyes. Now she just needed a name to go with that face and she could cross of the name from their list, leaving them with their hollow baiter. She watched the sixth year, listening intently as they sparred with their partner, hoping that their opponent would end up giving away a name.

"Whatchya doin' there miss?" A voice emitted from directly behind Kiyomi, "Ah well, no matter what you're doing, the quest is still the same. I am Esa young lady, and, jumping straight to the point, I would like for you to join me and some friends on a mission, you remember that announcement about the student that died yes? Well, I'm in league with a group that calls themselves "Purifiers", they know who's been causing it and are going after them. The teachers wont believe us so we have to go after them ourselves. They also have a fairly large following base, and we would like your help after your display of strength back there."

"Whatchya doin' there miss?"
The voice made Kiyomi jump as she had been fully engrossed in watching the two sixth year students spar, training her ears to their voices rather than her surrounding area. However, before she could get a word in the yell about how you shouldn't sneak up on people he had started speaking again. As he spoke, Kiyomi became aware of the guy's spiritual presence. Her teal eyes widened as she felt it. There was no doubt about it... this was the same reiryoku that had been used to bait the hollows into appearing.

"Bullshit!" she yelled as he finished speaking, "I wouldn't forget that reiryoku signature! You're the one who's killing people by baiting unusually strong hollows into appearing where training exercises are taking place!"

"I have no idea what you're saying, Silly Girl!" he laughed, "But I bet your bother, Raito, would appreciate it if you kept your nose to yourself and do what you're told..."
Esa's eyes narrowed with a smile because apparently we have Gin's son in this placeas he awaited the expected answer, "District 58 of Rukongai, his exact location is known and i doubt it would be difficult to find a difference between you two other than being a boy and a girl."

Kiyomi's teal eyes widened further at the mention of her brother. She hadn't mentioned her family to anyone in school, other than maybe in passing mention to Rakeshisu or Yujin.
"You leave him alone," she growled, calming her tone so that she wasn't yelling like she had been previously. However there was a very clear hostility in her voice as she spoke, "What do you want with me?"

"It's simple, we give you tasks, and you carry them out. There really is a group trying to kill of the students though, since you don't seem to want to cooperate i had no choice but to blackmail you. Now, tomorrow you will get your first mission, it will be slid under your door. Do not tell anyone of this meeting, the group, or anything else about this. Especially the missions." Esa spoke with a smile.
"Kiyomi?" A familiar voice called, Rakeshisu.
"Oh, your friend is here. Remember... Kiyomi is it?" The man put up a finger to his lips and walked away nonchalantly with his hands behind his back.

As Esa spoke, Kiyomi merely glared at him, the hostile look not leaving her teal eyes. With every word, her hostility just seemed to grow, however she couldn't do anything, lest this 'group' actually follow through with their threats. She remained silent until she heard Rake's voice calling her name. Blinking, she glanced in the direction it had come from before looking back at Esa, who had a confident grin on his face as he told her to keep quiet and promptly left the area.

Once Esa had gone, Kiyomi took a few steps backwards until she was leaning against a wall, before she slid down it until she was sitting on the ground. What the hell was she supposed to do now?
