Serious Shinigami Shenanigans

A young girl with pale brown hair tied in a ponytail, wandered down the hallway of the Shin'ō Academy (or as the locals called it: the Shinigami Academy) in her white and red uniform. Her destination was the board upon which the school posted important messages and information. She was incredibly nervous. After taking the entrance exam for the academy, she was about to find out whether or not she had gained a place at the school.

With the board finally in sight, Kiyomi stopped walking all of a sudden. She couldn't quite see anything that was written, but her nerves seemed to have gotten the better of her. What if she didn't get a high enough score? What if she would have to wait to retry the entrance exam? She was never this nervous about anything and it felt unnatural to her. But her mind focused on one thing; if she didn't get into the academy, what if she hurt her friend again?

As these thoughts crept into her already nervous mind, a group of other students wandered past her, evidently headed for the board. Kiyomi stood for a moment and watched, waiting to see what their results were. Judging from the large smiles that were passed around the group shortly after, they had succeeded. With a small sigh, Kiyomi closed her eyes, still standing in the middle of the hall.
"Alright, pull yourself together Kiyomi," she thought to herself, trying to pluck up the courage to move forward, "You'll never find out how you did if you just stand here."

Opening her teal blue eyes and nervously twisting a hand through her wavy, pale-brown ponytail, she took a few steps forward until she was stood in front of the large board. Glancing at it, she scanned all of the pinned up papers, looking for the correct one. Finding the list of students who had taken the exam, she scanned down it for her name:

Shiratori Kiyomi.... Pass

All of her former nervousness evaporated instantly and a wide grin spread over her face as she read the result. The sheet neglected to mention scores, possibly out of respect for those students who had failed, however Kiyomi didn't really care. She had passed!
There was a small note pinned to the entrance exam results telling everyone who had passed to find their name on one of the class lists and prepare for their first lessons. Nodding to herself, Kiyomi began to scan each of the lists, looking for the class she had been put into.

Rake became confused when he found Kiyomi crouching near the ground, "Kiyomi? You okay?" he asked, concerned for his most recent partner in a class session. He blinked and looked down at her, standing next to her. The bell was about to ring soon, and classes would end. The rest of the day would be filled with lessons, and this would probably be the only time to speak with Rave about anything other than in Kido classes where he could talk during the kido and get away with an A minus.

Kiyomi had just been staring at the ground where she sat, her mind going through possible ways to get herself out of this mess, only for each path to come to a dead end. She was snapped out of these thoughts when Rakeshisu spoke, revealing his presence to her. She blinked, looking up to him as if she hadn't seen him approach, before she stood up to her full height (not that it rivaled the taller male.)
"Yea... I'm fine," she replied, still unfocused as she thought about what had transpired in those past few minutes. Without saying anything more she began wandering in the direction of their next class.

"i'm fine" she had said.
"Well obviously you're not..."Rake huffed as he watched her walk away. He was about to chase after her and bug the truth out of her when the bell rang and the hallways filled with students blocked their path. Rake cursed the timing, and decided to wait. She couldn't hide from him ALL day, especially when they have the same classes together. He pushed his way through the crowd, making slower progress than Kiyomi as he headed for their next class...

Their next class was Hakuda, the art of hand-to-hand combat. When Kiyomi had arrived she sat on the opposite side of the room, furthest away from the doors that lead in. After the other students had all filed in and taken a seat, the teacher paired each of them up. Two groups at a time would spar at opposite ends of the classroom, with the tutor overseeing both sparring matches at once.
As Kiyomi and her designated opponent were called up, she chose a beginning stance before quickly going in for the first move after the teacher called for them to start. She was using the opportunity to blow off some steam, her anger at Esa fueling her actions as she fought with her opponent. She was lucky that her opponent that day was one of the better hakuda practitioners of their class and so put up a good fight against her, especially as she was being rather more aggressive than usual, not letting her opponent get in a move if she could help it instead of giving them a chance like she usually would.

Rake had been paired with someone that was just as good at the art as Kiyomi, except with no mercy and ended up getting his butt beaten. When class was over, Rake had been laying on the floor, sores all over his body. His "partner" looked a little too smug with his victory, but Rake let it pass and forced himself up, remembering Kiyomi and trying to approach her once more.

Unfortunately for Rakeshisu, Kiyomi had quickly made her leave as soon as the bell had rung signifying the end of the lesson. This being their last lesson of the day, she had dodged away from her friend's prying eyes and had taken off to find a quiet place to meditate with her Asauchi. She was hoping to stay away from her room for as long as possible, as it was clear that this Esa person and whatever group he belonged to knew where she slept... and that wasn't exactly the most comforting thought.
The place Kiyomi had selected was a sturdy branch within a tree. She figured no one would come looking for her up in a tree.

Rake sighed in disappointment when he could not find Kiyomi for the rest of the day. During the time she was gone, Rake was suddenly plagued by the large student from the previous classes almost constantly. Either he had been noticing him more often, or the student had been following him...either way, Rake was confident in his Kido enough to escape if he were to attack, so let him be. Rake had decided to stay after and wander the halls, still looking, except absentmindedly, for Kiyomi even though he was sure he was not going to find her since she probably did not want to be found or she went to her dorm.

As Rake wandered the halls, another presence followed him. The student appeared to be wandering almost aimlessly. After a short period of observation, the other presence stepped into view at the other end of the empty hallway.
"Rakeshisu, right?" he questioned, a perpetual wide grin on his face as he slowly walked towards Rake, each step echoing off of the walls.

Rake stopped and turned around to see a man with an especially wide grin on his face. Rake's eyes widened in confusion, "Um..yeah?" The grin was especially unsettling him for some reason. He blinked as he awaited what they wanted him for. Who was this person anyways, "Who are you?" he asked at last.

"Who bothers with names these days?" asked the man, his perpetual grin not leaving his face even as he spoke, "Though I suppose you'll need something to call me by." His voice took on an exasperated tone and he shrugged, as if he really couldn't be bothered with any of this. He continued his slow wander down the corridor until he was just a few meters away from Rake.
"Then again... you should probably be more concerned about those documents of yours..." he commented, his green eyes taking on a mischievous quality as he spoke, waiting for the first year's reaction to his words.

Documents? Did he mean the files? Rake's eyes narrowed, but he spoke as if he knew nothing, "What documents?" He blinked as he put on an innocent look, surely they could not have known about the files? How? He stared at the man with a blank and confused stare...

The man's grin only grew wider as Rakeshisu attempted to feign innocence, "Why, those ones you keep hidden in your room, of course."
Not that Rake knew it, but the man was bluffing him. He knew not the context of those 'documents', or what they were, he merely knew they existed; having once seen Rakeshisu sneaking around with them tucked beneath his arm. The look on the student's face told him all he needed to know to use it as blackmail material.

Rake caved in, "What will it take to keep your mouth trapped that doesn't involve me blasting it to oblivion?" He grew serious, hoping to intimidate the other person slightly. He did not really think it would achieve anything, but it was worth a try. Maybe it would keep him to his word, Rake could probably destroy the guy using Kido, the only thing holding back was the law against killing fellow students...

The green eyed individual crossed his arms, leaning back a little and glancing up at the ceiling, "My my, aren't you a feisty one." Hit grin however never disappeared, the individual looking back to Rakeshisu as he got down to business.
"We have a few jobs we want you to do for us," he blinked nonchalantly, "You will be notified at the correct time when we need you. But don't forget~" his grin only seemed to widen again as he brought up a hang to wave a finger at Rake, "One slip up or failure and we'll be sure to 'accidentally' reveal the location of those documents."
With that thought, the green eyed individual turned and began to walk away, his footsteps echoing off of the empty hall walls. After a few steps he stopped and looked back.
"Oh.. I almost forgot. Tell anyone about this and we'll make sure you won't be telling anyone anything anytime soon," he said, his tone less bored and not at all sounding like he was toying with Rake, unlike before. His grin had also disappeared as he said this, as if to make the point that he was entirely serious.

Rake's face remained its same stare as he left. Rake finally turned around after a moment and headed back to his dorm to check on the documents. They were still there, thankfully. He wondered if he should give the documents to Kiyomi...were they watching him? Would it be of any use to give them to her? He began to think about what might happen if he gave them to her. Would they go after him, or even go so far as killing him? He sighed, and decided to just comply for now. The possibilities were too much, and he knew too little. He would have to try and study the group from afar, and hope they accidentally give hints through their missions.
