Serious Shinigami Shenanigans

A young girl with pale brown hair tied in a ponytail, wandered down the hallway of the Shin'ō Academy (or as the locals called it: the Shinigami Academy) in her white and red uniform. Her destination was the board upon which the school posted important messages and information. She was incredibly nervous. After taking the entrance exam for the academy, she was about to find out whether or not she had gained a place at the school.

With the board finally in sight, Kiyomi stopped walking all of a sudden. She couldn't quite see anything that was written, but her nerves seemed to have gotten the better of her. What if she didn't get a high enough score? What if she would have to wait to retry the entrance exam? She was never this nervous about anything and it felt unnatural to her. But her mind focused on one thing; if she didn't get into the academy, what if she hurt her friend again?

As these thoughts crept into her already nervous mind, a group of other students wandered past her, evidently headed for the board. Kiyomi stood for a moment and watched, waiting to see what their results were. Judging from the large smiles that were passed around the group shortly after, they had succeeded. With a small sigh, Kiyomi closed her eyes, still standing in the middle of the hall.
"Alright, pull yourself together Kiyomi," she thought to herself, trying to pluck up the courage to move forward, "You'll never find out how you did if you just stand here."

Opening her teal blue eyes and nervously twisting a hand through her wavy, pale-brown ponytail, she took a few steps forward until she was stood in front of the large board. Glancing at it, she scanned all of the pinned up papers, looking for the correct one. Finding the list of students who had taken the exam, she scanned down it for her name:

Shiratori Kiyomi.... Pass

All of her former nervousness evaporated instantly and a wide grin spread over her face as she read the result. The sheet neglected to mention scores, possibly out of respect for those students who had failed, however Kiyomi didn't really care. She had passed!
There was a small note pinned to the entrance exam results telling everyone who had passed to find their name on one of the class lists and prepare for their first lessons. Nodding to herself, Kiyomi began to scan each of the lists, looking for the class she had been put into.

Kiyomi hesitated before going to answer her friend. However, before she could get a word out a blade suddenly shot through the cement and brick of the wall they were leaning against, stabbing Rakeshisu clear in his right shoulder. Kiyomi's teal eyes widened at the appearance of the blade, however it had retracted before she could even react, leaving a thin space where it had cut through the wall.

Rake looked to Kiyomi to listen to what she had to say. He was surprised by a pain exploding in his right shoulder, he instinctively grabbed it and cried out in pain. His eyes were forced shut as he tried to bear it, but he managed to open them and remove his hand to see a scarlet liquid staining his shinigami uniform and a thin and long hole in his uniform. He found that he could not control his arm without pain shooting up it, and his eyes widened as he realized that he had been stabbed, "Wh-What?" he spoke, shocked by the sudden attack from behind a thick cement wall.

Kiyomi remained sat there in shock for a few short moments before she leaped up and backwards a few steps, distancing herself from the point at which the blade had come through the wall as if it were carrying the plague. It seemed to snap her out of her emotional state as she saw the red staining his blue and white uniform. Her first thought was to ask if he was alright, but it was clear that he was not as could be told by the blood, so her teal eyes scanned the immediate area as if looking for the culprit.

There was a blur of movement as Rake was suddenly smashed into the wall with a powerful shove from someone utilizing shunpo. When the motion stopped it showed to be a rather young looking man with dark short hair, "Ah, that was a close one," in his hand it could be noticed that there was a rather largish looking sword with a thin layer of crimson blood covering the blade and dripping on the ground, "You nearly blew your cover!"
Rake was too dazed to register or do much, the force had knocked his head against the wall and the pain was still burning into his shoulder. Even if he had managed to move, he would not have been much help since his arm was useless to even lift his blade.

Kiyomi's teal eyes rested on the man's blood covered blade and she narrowed her eyes, ignoring his words as her previous tearful state all but disappeared, replaced with an anger aimed at this person. Not waiting for the man to make another move, Kiyomi charged towards him, drawing her own Asauchi from it's blue sheath and thrusting it with an attempt to impale the dark haired man upon it's blade.

The man easily dodged with a side step of Shunpo, appearing a foot to the left of Kiyomi's blade, "Is that any way to treat a superior?" he asked, making it clear that he was higher ranked than her in the organization. Just to the side of Kiyomi two other shinigami appeared, a familiar face of one of the girls that had been gossiping and another strange one of a tall male that looked about 30.
"As well as any way to treat someone who has you outnumbered?"

"Now now, if you're going to fight you should at least make it fair," a silvery voice spoke, a student in the female version of the academy's uniform wandering towards the four (or five, counting Rake). Unlike the others, she appeared to walk upon the air, concentrating layers of spirit particles beneath her feet to support her. She stared down at the the group with amber eyes, her form silhouetted in the moonlight as she spoke.
"Though I believe fighting among one another is forbidden unless it is for class purposes," she replied, her distaste for their behaviour clear in her tone.

"Who's this lady?" the gossip girl huffed in irritation, pulling out her sword to point it at the newcomer in attempt to intimidate them.
"She's got a point there, I was wondering why you were so randomly stabbing at a wall," Another voice came from atop the cement wall above Rake. A 20 year old appearing woman sat on top of the wall, her hair was tied back into a ponytail that split off into four ways, creating an X like appearance behind her head. Her hair was a bright red which contrasted with her brilliant blue eyes. She blinked, "I don't know much of what's going on here, but I'm pretty sure it's not worth trying to kill someone over, especially breaking the rules!" The woman held up a finger as if stating a fact and closed her eyes, she opened one and said, "now, you going to explain yourselves?"
Her response was the final rule breaker drawing his sword, "Don't bug into business that isn't your own," was the spoken reply.

Kiyomi looked from one newcomer to the next. The one girl had amber eyes and short, deep brown hair; the unamused look on her face told Kiyomi that the sword being pointed at her didn't at all phase her.
The woman's amber eyes, as well as Kiyomi's teal ones both focused on the red-headed female on top of the wall as she spoke.
"I guess not," she muttered as the last rule breaker drew his sword. She glanced at the blue eyed female before moving her gaze back to the attacking trio. Drawing her zanpakuto from it's sky blue sheath, she spoke in her silvery voice:
"Upon day's end, the sky is set ablaze, Nichibotsu Chō."

As she finished speaking the release command of her zanpakuto, the sword was very briefly engulfed in orange flames, lighting her silhouetted presence before they dispersed to reveal the weapon's true form. The hilt had become golden orange in colour, a stark contrast to the previous sky blue, whereas the blade was now coloured with hues of orange and red, being lighter at the base of the blade and progressively darkening until it reached the fiery red of the blade's tip and sharp edge. One could liken it to an early sunset. An orange and black butterfly fluttered around the woman's once again silhouetted form.

"Bang! Senkō hanabi!" the red haired woman sitting upon the wall said while standing up and drawing her sword. The sword shined and the woman's figure was suddenly hidden by flashes and bangs of color and shining lights. When the lights faded, her sword was bigger, had a flickering shine, and was blazing red with heat.
"Well, that was certainly flashy...." the gossip girl spoke in distaste, "Your sword barely did anything at all!"
Though the woman was obviously irritated by the remark, she merely jumped down from the wall and stood a few feet in front of Rake, facing the group that surrounded Kiyomi, "Well, looks like everything is even now. Three on Three, do you STILL want to cause trouble?"

It appeared they did, as the 'gossip' girl quickly attacked Kiyomi, who brought up her Asauchi to block the incoming strike.
"Some people never learn," blinked the amber eyed student, the butterfly still fluttering around in the moonlight. It's bright orange markings drew attention to itself, meaning that despite it's small size, most of the people in the area had seen it; this would be easy.
"You take the one with the blood on his sword, Sukai," she blinked before turning her attention to the tall male. She took slow steps towards him, a small smile appearing on her face as she did so. "Now then, what's your name?" she asked, as if starting any normal conversation.

"You got it Aki~" Sukai chimed as the man with the blood-red sword began to run towards her rather recklessly. She smiled as she stepped aside, giving a wave of her blade in front of the boy like a matador to a bull. The man looked up to see something shining in the air, he blinked and was surprised as the blade came down and heated up the dust, causing it to shine brightly and burn into the man's eyes. He yelled in pain and dropped a hand from his sword to cover his eyes from the flashing lights, "Denki howaitoban" Sukai had said as she lifted the blade near the dust, Electric White Bang. The ability was when her sword unleashed magnesium powder and heated up the magnesium with the blade, causing it to shine bright enough to damage the eyes of those who looked into it too long.

"Don't bug into business that isn't your own," the man repeated, carefully watching the maiden as she took those slow steps towards him.

"And who decides what business isn't mine?" she asked him casually, her silvery voice calm. What the tall man didn't realise, was that the 18 year old before him was merely stalling for time with her short attempt at conversation. As she was doing this, she was weaving a complex illusion around the man, one that consisted of creating the image of a rather large hollow. After waiting for his response, she made the hollow roar in a very hollow-like voice that only those who had seen her butterfly could hear. Upon turning, they would see a large beast with sickly green skin and a hole in the center of it's chest. It appeared to be wearing a white mask with small protrusions upon it that were reminiscent to horns.

Kiyomi meanwhile had used her skills in hakuda to get the upper hand on the 'gossip' girl and had knocked the blade from her hand. Kiyomi's own blade was sheathed once more, freeing up her hands to launch a few swift punches. her speed was clearly superior and it was thanks to that nimbleness that she had dodged the few attempted kicks that her opponent had sent her way.

"What the?" the man the maiden had been fighting spoke as a large hollow like creature seemed to appear from nowhere.
(You can control him now since I'm not too sure on how/what he should be seeing/doing other than the hollow |D)

Meanwhile, Sukai was having the time of her life toying with the male who had stabbed the other student, who was still bleeding out and had seemingly been forgetting by Sukai as her blade impaled the ground just near him as she missed an attack on the male. The man seemed to be excellent with shunpo, and merely danced away from Sukai's attacks. Annoyed, Sukai stopped moving and spoke, "Kanakirigoe", Screecher, her blade suddenly began to vibrate as it emitted a loud screeching noise that seemed as if it could be heard for miles. Her rather reckless act, since it could effect the maiden and Kiyomi, caused the foe she had been fighting to halt as he attempted to cover his ears and flinch from the attack. She smirked and darted towards him, prepared to strike.

"Perhaps I should explain," blinked Akiko in her silvery voice, "My zanpakuto has a way of bringing one's fears to life. It appears you fear hollows for some reason... or perhaps you know you just aren't good enough to defeat one single-handedly." Her amber eyes watched the older man with cold eyes, a glint of mischievousness in them as she spoke.

"That's not true!" he yelled, clearly annoyed at Akiko's accusations. At this, the 'hollow' began to advance on the man who merely stared at it fearfully with his sword raised, sensing a strong spiritual power coming from it's presence.

"Oh? Then why is it that you tremble in it's presence?" she asked in response, toying with the now shaking man.

In reality, her words were all lies. Her zanpakuto's ability was no such thing and the hollow before him was merely an illusion. The student watched as more orange and black 'sunset' butterflies materialized due to her illusion growing more complex with each added detail. As her amber eyes focused on the man, Akiko's mind continued to weave the illusion of the hollow.
