Serious Shinigami Shenanigans

A young girl with pale brown hair tied in a ponytail, wandered down the hallway of the Shin'ō Academy (or as the locals called it: the Shinigami Academy) in her white and red uniform. Her destination was the board upon which the school posted important messages and information. She was incredibly nervous. After taking the entrance exam for the academy, she was about to find out whether or not she had gained a place at the school.

With the board finally in sight, Kiyomi stopped walking all of a sudden. She couldn't quite see anything that was written, but her nerves seemed to have gotten the better of her. What if she didn't get a high enough score? What if she would have to wait to retry the entrance exam? She was never this nervous about anything and it felt unnatural to her. But her mind focused on one thing; if she didn't get into the academy, what if she hurt her friend again?

As these thoughts crept into her already nervous mind, a group of other students wandered past her, evidently headed for the board. Kiyomi stood for a moment and watched, waiting to see what their results were. Judging from the large smiles that were passed around the group shortly after, they had succeeded. With a small sigh, Kiyomi closed her eyes, still standing in the middle of the hall.
"Alright, pull yourself together Kiyomi," she thought to herself, trying to pluck up the courage to move forward, "You'll never find out how you did if you just stand here."

Opening her teal blue eyes and nervously twisting a hand through her wavy, pale-brown ponytail, she took a few steps forward until she was stood in front of the large board. Glancing at it, she scanned all of the pinned up papers, looking for the correct one. Finding the list of students who had taken the exam, she scanned down it for her name:

Shiratori Kiyomi.... Pass

All of her former nervousness evaporated instantly and a wide grin spread over her face as she read the result. The sheet neglected to mention scores, possibly out of respect for those students who had failed, however Kiyomi didn't really care. She had passed!
There was a small note pinned to the entrance exam results telling everyone who had passed to find their name on one of the class lists and prepare for their first lessons. Nodding to herself, Kiyomi began to scan each of the lists, looking for the class she had been put into.

Rake had to admit, this girl was creepy with her knowledge sometimes...he frowned and finally said, "You're right, just seems rude for me to not go...but if you insist. Anything else you want to add before we finish for today?" he asked.

"I don't think so. We'll probably need to hide these files until we can give them back though," she paused for a moment before her teal eyes refocused on Rakeshisu, "Can I ask you to do that? It doesn't matter where as long as they'll stay hidden until we're done with all this."
It probably wouldn't be a very good idea to leave them lying around, especially if word got out that they'd obtained them illegally. That poor shinigami from the twelfth would probably get in trouble too... then again she'd get in trouble anyway if they decided to just give the files back. Perhaps they could sneak them in somehow?
Kiyomi's thoughts wandered as she waited for Rake's response.

"Yeah I can do that," Rake spoke. He took the files and packed them under his arm so it would look more like a notebook if noticed at all due to matching the dark coloring that matched his uniform. Rake knew that he could hide this easily under his bed since nobody ever came into his room and there was a rug under his bed. Who would want to look at a file of papers anyways? He scratched the back of his head, "And uh...thanks i guess.."

"You're welcome.. I guess..?" replied Kiyomi, blinking before turning to head off with her folded note of paper in hand. She paused all of a sudden to look back with a smile, "See you tomorrow, Rake!"
With that, she made her way out of the classroom and headed down the corridor's to the large foyer type area where the bulletin board was housed. Despite most of her year being out of class at the present time, the area appeared to be empty and so Kiyomi pulled up a chair and sat in front of the large board, scanning it's contents and making note of the class schedules for each of the five people on the list. However, despite what Kiyomi had thought, there was in fact another person in the room. They remained silent in the corner, watching her curiously as she made the notes she needed. Soon enough they had left, leaving her to finish up her notes before she headed back to the dorms to spend the rest of the afternoon meditating with her Asauchi.

Rake sighed as he entered his room, dropping down on the floor and placing the files under his bed. It was a very tiring day, and his back was sore, it seemed that one of the ladies had thrown something dull and heavy at him, causing his back to be sore. He laid back on his bed, and glanced at his nameless sword, "If I meditate with you are you just going to call me a moron again?" he huffed. He did not expect an answer, nor did he receive any. He looked at his sword, picked it up, and meditated with it anyways. He had a feeling he was nowhere near making any progress with the sword anyways...

Roughly a week later, the duo had narrowed their list of five down to two after sneaking around in their free periods and stalking various sixth years so that Kiyomi could judge whether she had sensed their reiryoku before or not. The two remaining on the list were absolutely impossible to catch alone, so whenever Kiyomi tried to sense their spiritual power, it was always as if it was 'contaminated' by their various classmates. Of course this annoyed her to no end and merely convinced her that she was not as good at sensing things as she could be.

At current time they were in one of their lectures about the basic skills and expectations of a shinigami. Kiyomi still had a seat next to the window, but as the teacher walked into the room and began to speak, a solemn atmosphere was created. Apparently one of their classmates had been killed on another of the special sixth-year supervised trips to the World of the Living. Kiyomi glanced to Rakeshisu at the news, wondering if the cause was anything similar to what they were investigating.

Unfortunately before any of the students could discuss these events further, the teacher had opted to take them all out to the outside training area for some team building exercises. They were each paired up and it was explained that for the next few weeks, each lesson one pair would be given an egg and would have to protect that egg from the rest of the class for the duration of that lesson. Teamwork would apparently be essential to the protection of this egg.

Rake was surprised by the announcement, yet more students were killed. He had not notice Kiyomi look at him, and instead paid attention as the teacher introduced an egg-game. They were to protect the egg with their partner as their entire class tried to break it. The point was to last at least two minutes due to being outnumbered. The shinigami was surprised once more when he found himself paired with Kiyomi, the two were given an egg they were to protect and keep from being smashed...

As Kiyomi and Rakeshisu were given their egg, they couldn't help but wonder why they had to go first. The rest of the class's faces seemed to take on menacing or mischievous glares as they advanced on the pair. Kiyomi's teal gaze rested on them before she looked down at the egg in her hands.
"Alright Rake, you're the taller one you have the egg!" she yelled suddenly, before quickly shoving it into his hands and taking a hakuda battle stance as the rest of the class charged at them.

"Wait shouldn't you get the egg because you can defend yourself in hand to ha-AGH" Rake had been in the middle of speaking before pulling up his nameless sword to block a student's blade. Motivation filled through him as he became quicker with adrenaline from the mound of students coming after him. He focused on dodging and trying not to get himself hurt, the class seemed to be focusing on him since he had the egg. Which he found a bit lucky since if they had taken out the main offense which was Kiyomi he would have been screwed, with one of his hands holding the egg and the other his sword.

Kiyomi meanwhile was defending herself from a few of the students on the outside of the large group who were trying to get the egg. She quickly kicked one of them in the gut, before leaping into the air and using their bent over form as a stepping stone to propel herself further. She'd have to apologise later but for now she was intent on getting the egg from Rake so that he'd have a chance to catch a break.
Using the shoulders of various students as her stepping stones, Kiyomi quickly made her way towards Rakeshisu, calling out, "Hold the egg up as high as you can!"

"Are you nuts!? If I do that it's an easy target, they could just throw something at it," he reasoned as he slapped a shinigami with the flat of his blade so it would not harm them seriously. Inside his head he was trying to go over a list of his Kido, surely one of them were some kind of barrier spell he could remember that would give them a hand.

"Do you really think i'd let them?" she grinned, having just stepped on a classmate's shoulder and pushed their head down with her foot so that she was low enough to snatch the egg from Rakeshisu's hand. She shared a look with him, before quickly using what little skill in shunpo she had to make her way back over to the other side of the students who were still trying to attack Rakeshisu, not knowing exactly what had transpired a mere few moments ago.

"How slow you all are," Kiyomi teased, waving the egg in the air to distract the students before quickly dodging a few weaker Kidos that had been shot at her.

Rake remembered the spell, he concentrated and began uttering the words for it. A few smart classmates realized that one of the best Kido students were about to use the kido and tried to stop him, but it was too late.
"Bakudō # 21. Sekienton!" he called out. A burst of red smoke erupted from his feet and filled the room. The class was in chaos as people tried to find the owners of the egg. Rakeshisu walked calmly over to Kiyomi and took her by the elbow, dragging her out of class into the hall.
"Now while they're probably going to assume that we weren't allowed to go out of class and think we disguised ourselves. While they're busy beating the crap out of each other we can just chill out here," He explained himself.

Kiyomi chuckled as they exited the area, taking a seat and leaning against the wall, the small white egg still in her hands, "Eh, it was fun whilst it lasted. Though half of them will have bruised backs tomorrow from me standing on them."
Leaning her head back against the wall, Kiyomi stared up at the ceiling, "You know we could always use this time to go and see if we can find those two sixth years again," she pointed out, remembering that they still hadn't figured out which of them was the one who had left the reiryoku traces for the hollows to detect.

"We only have two minutes, i'd say we should slip out after we get our grade. People will obviously attempt the same trick as us."
Rake knew that the teacher would probably not care if it was them since they were passing so easily. He listened as the students inside started to accuse each other and try to come up with a way to figure out they were.
"How about we check everyone's clothes for the egg?" someone had suggested.
