It was a day, just like any other day. The sun was shining up high in the skies, Flying types were chirping and the various rescue teams set out on their missions. One of those teams consisted out of William the Gastly and Tsukishiro the Absol. The two of them had just reached the entrance to the Serene Cave, the assumed hiding spot of two outlaws. One was a thief, the other was accused of disturbing the peace. William could understand, why they chose this as their domain. The many tunnels and paths inside the Serene Cave had caused him to get lost many times on his journeys, and he might not have been able to leave them again a few times, had it not been for his ability to pass through solid matter. The sunlight, falling onto the rugged rocks around the cave entrance, cast bizarre, pointy shadows on the warm stone below them. A breeze of refreshingly cool air flowed out of the entrance, almost beckoning the duo inside. A variety of scratching noises, combined with the sound of dripping water and the slightly rotten smell of mosses however, that had followed the breeze out of the cave, immediately destroyed the illusion of a place to relax. Yet, they would enter these caves. They would find the outlaws and they would defeat them. William knew it. "Are you ready?"

| The loud noise broke Kim's focus. The Dragon pulse she was using dissipated in her hands. "That's way to loud! What makes this pokemon thinks the pokemon who live in the cave will just let him do this? Why would he make that much noise?" Kim asked. She felt sorry for the Audino. They only wanted to live peacefully but this loudred made that hard. She knew this next battle would make things hard. She brought her Dragon pulse back and did her best to try and pinpoint the noise. |

| "We should keep moving before he actually causes part of the cave to collapse," blinked Shiro continuing onward as Kim reformed the glowing purple that was a Dragon Pulse in her paw. She answered the Axew's questions as she walked. "Loudred are actually incredibly noisy by nature. This one just might not understand that by being here and making so much noise, he is actually endangering the other Pokemon that live here. Though we might feel sorry for the Audino, we must also consider that Loudred naturally find it hard to control their noise level." | |

| "With all those scientific advancements it should be possible to create something, that would reduce a Loudred's volume to an acceptable level. So I'm quite surprised, that noone has attempted to outfit all Loudred with such a piece of technology. Maybe there is some reason I am not aware of, that causes such a device to be difficult to construct...But that can be discussed later. Let's just continue. While I doubt, that it'd be able to hear us, there are other things in here after all." Continuing through the caves and tunnels, the Gastly wondered, how loud a Loudred could actually be if it tried. Not that he'd want to experience it of course. But the idea was interesting. It could even be possible to use the energy in a Loudred's voice to power a small machine...but that wasn't their mission. That would be a mission for science. | |

| "Oh... I guess that makes sense. But it is very noisy. Do they normally live it caves this this? Also if he's this loud all the time then wouldn't we see evidence of the cave collapsing in places?" Kim asked. She thought about what they had said. It had to be rough being so load all the time. Pokemon wouldn't be very accepting of this kind of noise. She felt kinda sorry for him. There had to be some was to get him to stop without violence. She would fight if she had to but beating up a Pokemon for doing what's in it's nature was wrong. She would try her best to help this Pokemon belong. |

| "Whismur tend to live in caves, but they're a lot quieter than Loudred. I'm not sure about Loudred itself however," replied Tsukishiro, her voice was quiet as she continued to follow the sound of the loud Pokemon. "I'm hoping we won't have to fight him, and that he'll listen to reason. However depending on his emotional state when we encounter him he might attack us, so you should be prepared." Shiro was worried that if the Loudred were angry when they found it, it might not listen to what they had to say. | |

| "I am not too sure about a Loudred's habitat either. The few books, that were available to me during "that" time didn't mention this species at all. But I agree with your logic, Axew. This cave system shouldn't be that elaborate if there really were Loudred roaming this place naturally. Something is wrong here..." Now this was an interesting issue. There had to be a reason for this Loudred to be here without the caves being destroyed. Two possibilities came to mind. Either these caves had some anormality that prevented them from collapsing or this Loudred was the only one here and only reached this place recently. The latter explanation seemed to be much more likely as it was dubious whether a tribe of Audino would settle in a place with a larger Loudred population. So...why did it come here? | |

| "I may not be to strong but can I try to talk to him?" Kim asked. She really wanted to see why this Pokemon was here and help him if possible. Sure he could attack but that was a risk she was willing to take if it meant she could help him. She kept an eye out for any movement. The last thing she wanted was a nasty wound. |

| "It depends on the state we find him in," replied Shiro, "He may not even give us a chance to speak to him if he's angered, Loudred might just attack us as soon as he spots us," she blinked, continuing to follow the noise. "I'm not going to put you into unnecessary danger just because you'd rather talk to an angered Pokemon," she said firmly. Judging by the cries that were echoing through the labyrinth of tunnels however, Shiro didn't think that Loudred would be willing to listen. Not until they calmed him down anyhow. | |

| "Even assuming, that it hasn't destroyed its own eardrums already, I'd be surprsed to see it able to understand you at all. But of course you can try if you want to." Even though William couldn't imagine the Axew's unconventional tactics to work, there was nothing to be lost in letting her try, was there? Even if it wouldn't work, it would give Team Yozora more time to prepare their attacks, which would increase the duo's chances in the obligatory battle afterwards. Btween the steps of the other two Pokémon and the constant sound of water dripping down from the ceiling, the caves were amazingly silent. Such a place must be quite helpful when trying to think. As this would fit in with the Gastly's opinion of the Loudred not being native to this area, William now considered this possibility as "as good as proven". | |

| Kim took the lead making her dragon pulse a little brighter. She kept a close eye out for the Loudred. She was very focused on her task. This showed some potential. "So what do Loudred look like? I've never seen one before." Kim asked. There where a lot of pokemon she hadn't seen. It was not uncommon for this to happen. |

| Shiro wasn't too happy about Kim squeezing past her to try and take the lead in the narrow cave tunnel, but did not say anything. The young Absol didn't want to hurt the Axew's feelings, but she also didn't want the inexperienced Pokemon to get hurt under her watch. Luckily, the trio soon reached another cavern area, one that was considerably darker than the one they had previously found as there was no hole in the cave's roof to let light in. The purple light of Kim's dragon pulse partially lit the area, but was not bright enough to light the entire cave.
Shiro scanned the area with her red eyes, attuned to the darkness due to her typing. She saw nothing, but remained wary as the Loudred seemed to have quietened. Taking a few cautious footsteps forward, Shiro was suddenly startled by a loud, charging form, coming from the other side of the dark cavern. Responding quickly to the surprise attack, Shiro used Quick Attack, focusing the move's power into her sickle shaped horn. Shiro made a move quite like an uppercut with her now glowing white horn, dealing damage to their attacker and protecting her teammate and new acquaintance. In the light of the Quick Attack, it was clear that the Pokemon attacking was in fact the Loudred they were searching for. It didn't seem to be able to see much in the darkness, and had blindly attacked whatever drew near, in this case responding to the light from Kim's Dragon Pulse.
"Loudred has Soundproof," Tsukshiro remembered with a small gasp as she considered trying to talk to the Pokemon. It appeared that no attempts to talk to it would work, until it was calm enough to read their lips as they spoke.

| Even though William had no trouble with seeing in the dark, the Loudred's charge was far too quick and surprising for him to be able to do anything against it. Luckily his teammate managed to intercept the attack, probably saving the Axew from some serious injuries. However, the threat was not eliminated. The Loudred simply refused to listen or...of course! Shiro was right! Of course Loudred would have to have Soundproof! So talking really wouldn't be an option...unless...they could find another method of communication...but how? At that moment William had an idea. The attack Shadow Ball worked by transmitting vile thoughts to the opponent. So shouldn't it be possible to use other thoughts and send a message with it instead? Normal types might be immune to Ghost type attacks, but maybe that was because they wouldn't be hurt by the thoughts rather than not recieving them. It was worth a try. The Gastly focussed, trying to let thoughts of peace, diplomacy and conversation flow through his mind and into the orb this time. It was a strange feeling, but the "attack" was completed. Hoping for its success, the spectral Pokémon launched it at the Loudred. | |

| Kim backed away as she let her dragon pulse fly into the cavern ceiling. It was so dark without it but she knew William and Shiro would have no problem with this. "Whats soundproof mean? I've never heard of that ability." Kim asked staying against a wall. She tried her best to stay out of the way. |

| "Soundproof is an ability that blocks out all sounds, rendering the Pokemon immune to sound based moves such as Growl, or Hyper Voice," replied Shiro, trying to clarify for the Axew, "Unfortunately it has the side effect of pretty much rendering whoever has it deaf and they'd have to resort to reading lips to understand what others are saying."
Shiro watched as William did something with his Shadow Ball move. The Absol knew that her teammate knew his moves would have no effect damage wise... perhaps he had something else in mind.

| As William's Shadow Ball hit the Loudred, it suddenly froze in place. Apparently it had heard and understood the thoughts, that the Gastly had been trying to transmit. Now it would only have to listen. Slowly the outlaw walked closer to the trio, seemingly being ready to talk about everything. That was until it let out a huge roar, jumping at William with a Bite attack. Even though its cry was far too loud for anyone to completely understand, the Gastly had the feeling to have heard the word "hippie" somewhere in there. Too startled from the sudden noise however, the spectral Pokémon didn't find himself capable of dodging in time at all. One thing was certain. More old-fashioned forms of conversation would be required. | |
