Shiro's first outlaw mission

It was a day, just like any other day. The sun was shining up high in the skies, Flying types were chirping and the various rescue teams set out on their missions. One of those teams consisted out of William the Gastly and Tsukishiro the Absol. The two of them had just reached the entrance to the Serene Cave, the assumed hiding spot of two outlaws. One was a thief, the other was accused of disturbing the peace.
William could understand, why they chose this as their domain. The many tunnels and paths inside the Serene Cave had caused him to get lost many times on his journeys, and he might not have been able to leave them again a few times, had it not been for his ability to pass through solid matter.
The sunlight, falling onto the rugged rocks around the cave entrance, cast bizarre, pointy shadows on the warm stone below them.
A breeze of refreshingly cool air flowed out of the entrance, almost beckoning the duo inside.
A variety of scratching noises, combined with the sound of dripping water and the slightly rotten smell of mosses however, that had followed the breeze out of the cave, immediately destroyed the illusion of a place to relax. Yet, they would enter these caves.
They would find the outlaws and they would defeat them. William knew it.
"Are you ready?"

"I'm sure I can help." Kim said. Tired about not being able to see she formed a Dragon pulse in her hands. It provided a little light. "Is it okay if I hold this?" She asked. She didn't want to give away their position and wasn't sure if they wanted to used the shadows to their advantage.

"As long as you're careful and put it out straight away if we say to. I'll be listening out for footsteps other than ours so I should be able to give you the heads up," replied Shiro. The Axew would probably be more useful if she was able to see more, so she welcomed it for the moment.
Turning back to the tunnel ahead, the Absol spotted something nearby. It was some sort of item, she was sure... but she moved closer to determine exactly what it was.

"I guess you can. Just as long as you don't set any of us on fire or whatever else that is. Oh, and you should remain quiet. The Audino, who posted the request have specifically asked for it."
William couldn't do much but hope, that they were going in the right direction. Why was finding one loud and one hyperactive Pokémon that difficult?
Looking at one of the many cave walls, the Gastly spotted, what he believed to be weathered paintings, left there by an ancient civilisation before realizing, that it was just a coincidental combination of small furrows, the water had created on the softer stone here.

"Wow... This cave is pretty." Kim said a bit more quietly. She didn't want to make these pokemon mad at her. The light was certainly helpful. The green light seemed to bring out the cave's beauty. She loved it.

It turns out Shiro had spotted a Light Box. Deciding to see if her sister would appraise it later, she kept it, putting it into her treasure bag to contemplate later. It was then however that she heard a noise further down the tunnel. If she had visible ears, they most certainly would have pricked up at the noise. It was a deep growling sound, though it sounded like it was coming from much further into the cave system.
"Shh," Shiro called back to William and Kim, waiting for the silence of her companions to figure out which direction the noise had come from.

"What is that?" William whispered.
Through the echoing cave system, it was almost impossible, to figure out the origin of the sound, which seemingly was coming from every side at once. The rugged walls distorted it into an indiscribably bizarre melody, so the Gastly had trouble figuring out the species behind it.
Focussing his negative energies, William got ready to confront whatever it might be, that seemed to be nearby.

Kim looked around. She couldn't see anything and the noise sounded like it came from all directions. She looked at Shiro. "Do you want me to throw this somewhere?" She whispered. She didn't want to attract to much attention.
(Due to the fact that I'm not home my posts will be a little slower and not as pretty. Sorry.)

"Sure, it might help if we can try to sneak up on whatever's making this noise and keep the element of surprise on our side," blinked the Absol, looking at the different cave tunnels, "I guess we should just pick one to go through since there's not really any clues as to which one the noise is coming from."

"Yeah...that might be the best choice...either we'll evade an unneccessary confrontation or we'll have the upper hand in battle. So...which one should we choose?"
William had always been careful when it came to battles and this one was no exception. Quite the opposite actually. Now, that this Axew was with them, he was even more cautious, not wanting to endanger the small Dragon type.
The previously calming dripping of the cold water down the ancient stalactites now took on a threatening tone instead of the calming one it had before, as the strange sounds once again reminded William of the immense amount of possible threats, that were lurking in these caves.

Kim nodded. "I say we try that way." She said pointing down a tunnel that had a downward slant. To her bad Pokemon in stories always hid deep in caves. It just seemed right to her. She dimmed her Dragon pulse a bit.

Shrio shrugged as best as an Absol could and nodded, "Seems as good a tunnel as any."
She lead the way down the tunnel, deciding it was best to go in front just in case something attacked them from the shadows. At least then it was less likely that Kim would get hurt. Shiro padded along the pathways in silence, listening to the droplets from the stalactites. The noises had stopped periodically and so the dropping water was heard rather clearly in the silence.

Being immune to a variety of relatively common attacks, William floated behind the other two, making their way through one of the many tunnels of the cave. For a monent he was surprised by his own reflection on an especially smooth wall, which had taken on an almost surreal purplish tone in the light of the Dragon Pulse. But as it had become clear, that there was no danger to be found, William too silently continued on the path the cold stone around them was guiding them on.

Kim looked at herself in the wall to. She found that to be very neat. She wanted to look at it for a while longer but she knew she would hold up the team if she did. "This place is so awesome... I wish we could explore a little more." She whispered as the walked along. Soon they reached the end tunnel. I large room lit by a hole in the cave ceiling was in front of them. An underground river flowed through as stalagmites and stalactites filled the room. It was fairly pretty. Kim's excitement to explore the room was clear as her dragon pulse got bright. "Wow." She said.
(Boss room? You decide.)

"Well I suppose that's a handy way for any bird Pokemon to leave this place. Or even get in here if that's what their goal is. With a river like that it'd probably be a welcome pit stop for any flying pokemon who needed a drink... then again would an underwater river be very clean?" asked Shiro, looking mostly to William and his reserves of information for an answer.

As they entered the large chamber, William took a bit of time to admire the environment, before thinking of an answer to Shiro's question.
"I guess that depends on where it originates from. But what I'd be concerned about, is, that this river seems to be too clear. There don't seem to be any mosses or algae in or around it. Usually this climate should be perfect for them. I think this river flows through a sort of rock, that contains a poisonous mineral...mercury maybe. Would explain the lack of vegetation...It certainly isn't healthy, so you should refrain from drinking out of this river. But what's this?"
Having watched the river flow through the cavern, the Gastly had noticed a strange object in it, having gotten stuck between two small stones, that were lying in the riverbed.
