It was a day, just like any other day. The sun was shining up high in the skies, Flying types were chirping and the various rescue teams set out on their missions. One of those teams consisted out of William the Gastly and Tsukishiro the Absol. The two of them had just reached the entrance to the Serene Cave, the assumed hiding spot of two outlaws. One was a thief, the other was accused of disturbing the peace. William could understand, why they chose this as their domain. The many tunnels and paths inside the Serene Cave had caused him to get lost many times on his journeys, and he might not have been able to leave them again a few times, had it not been for his ability to pass through solid matter. The sunlight, falling onto the rugged rocks around the cave entrance, cast bizarre, pointy shadows on the warm stone below them. A breeze of refreshingly cool air flowed out of the entrance, almost beckoning the duo inside. A variety of scratching noises, combined with the sound of dripping water and the slightly rotten smell of mosses however, that had followed the breeze out of the cave, immediately destroyed the illusion of a place to relax. Yet, they would enter these caves. They would find the outlaws and they would defeat them. William knew it. "Are you ready?"

| Kim knew she wasn't being very helpful. But she tried her best to not be a hindrance. She backed away seeing William trying to hold back the Vigoroth. She felt a little useless here. Her attack did almost nothing. |

| William's charge knocked the Vigoroth out of it's leap, causing it to end up sprawled on the rocks of the cavern. Shiro maintained her position, blocking the only exit to make sure that the outlaw could not escape with Slowpoke's possession. Keeping up her position though had it's own hindrances, as from here she could not hope to use an attack, lest it hit William too. | |

| As the Vigoroth was finally far away enough from the other Pokémon, William could unleash an actual attack. His outline faded as poisonous gases seeped out, covering the floor around the two. The sunlight, that fell upon this area was reflected and broken by this Smog, the rays twisted into bizarre, purple creations of an eerie glow. Luckily the Axew had been saved, but the Vigoroth certainly wouldn't give up yet. Why had this Pokémon turned to the dark side? And could it be reformed? A variety of qustions began to fill William's head.

| Kim had never seen a move like that before. It looked nasty. She was sure that pokemon would have a hard time after something like that. She was glad she was on their side. |

| "Be careful when attacking. We don't want Slowpoke's treasure to end up broken," called Shiro, feeling rather guilty that she hadn't mentioned this beforehand and had actually forgotten herself how precious something like a mystic water could be. The Vigoroth meanwhile was damaged by the eerie purple gases, but not poisoned. Shiro used this chance to get in a dark pulse, hitting the Vigoroth from behind where she was confident she would not hit the mystic water that Vigoroth was carrying. | |

| "Oh don't you worry there, I doubt Smog could actually damage that item.", William called back. The Vigoroth meanwhile was hit by the ray of dark energy, wincing in pain. As it recovered, it realized, that it couldn't do much against the Gastly and thus jumped back to the other two, wildly swinging its claws around in the direction Shiro was standing in as it was using the move Fury Swipes. From William's point of view, it appeared, as if it was trying to make her move away from the exit in an attempt to flee to another part of these caves, where it could heal its wounds, while the team would have to spend a lot of time finding it again and probably sustaining some damage as well. It was obvious, that that wasn't allowed to happen under any circumstances, but William wasn't the fastest, so it took him a bit of time to float back to Shiro and the Axew again. | |

| Kim had to try something. The Vigoroth was headed right toward her and Shiro. She wasn't as fast as the Absol. She was going to get hit here. Knowing this she tried hitting him with scratch. Instead he hand glowed purple as she smacked him with Assurance. Being a fighting type move it might actually have an effect on the pokemon. |

| Shiro nodded to William's answer but then refocused on the battle in hand. It was just as well that she did, because the Vigoroth. The Assurance move dealt a bit more damage than Scratch would have done due to it's higher power, however being a dark type move meant that it still did not do serious damage. Aiming to aid the attack on Vigoroth and keep him away from the cavern's exit, The Absol used Quick Attack, getting in yet another swift strike with her own powerful claws. | |

| William had finally reached the others again, but as they were already preparing to attack and him charging into the Vigoroth would knock it out of their way, he reluctantly decided not to do so, especially since he might get hit by the Assurance. Dark type moves had always been a problem for William, although he didn't know, why. Maybe it was, becuase many Dark types were outlaws and the fear of outlaws and other dangerous Pokémon had caused so much trouble for him? But why was it every Ghost type then? It couldn't be that reason...so...what was it? | |

| Kim Was hit with a tackle. It hit her hard. She was thrown a few feet away. He body hurt. She managed to get to her feet and back away. This fight was getting to be to much for her. (Who exactly is controlling the Vigoroth?) |

| (Everyone. There's no set person |D)
Shiro's thoughts began to wander even as she was battling the Vigoroth. She wondered how they were going to complete the other mission they had taken on, when even just this one was taking it's toll. Judging by how Kim was weakening even now, perhaps she had made the wrong decision to bring the young Axew along.... Focusing back on the task at hand, the Absol knew that she and her friends needed to defeat the outlaw quickly. It may have been stronger than she anticipated, but she was faster with the aid of her Quick Attack. Using the move again, she knocked the normal type to the ground.

| As the normal type was on the ground, William figured, that this would be the best time to attack. In the shock of falling over, the Vigoroth would probably forget to use its Dark type attacks, so the Gastly should be safe from that. The only thing he had to worry about was accidentally getting hit by one of the other two trying to hit the outlaw as well. It was a risk, that had to be taken. Floating directly over the fallen Vigoroth's face, William used a Smog attack, hoping to deal more damage by getting the gas directly into the Normal type's lungs. Hopefully nothing would go wrong... | |

| Kim stood there trying to get her bearings. She had never really battled before. This was new for her. Having played for most of her life was was able to withstand a bit more that others her age. She had to be careful from here though. "I can still fight!" Kim said. There was slight pain in her voice. |

| Tsukishiro hopped backwards a few steps as the Gastly came toward the Vigoroth. She had recognised the beginnings of William's Smog attack and hadn't wanted to get caught in the crossfire. At a distance now and with the outlaw still grounded, the Absol glanced back at the Axew who had called out. She claimed that she could still fight, though there was an obvious pain in her voice that said otherwise. The Vigoroth shuddered as the Smog attack did it's damage. It wasn't long before it was too much, and the outlaw was finally knocked unconscious. Breathing a small, almost inaudible sigh of relief, the Absol slowly moved over to retrieve the Mystic Water from the Vigoroth's limp body. | |

| "Before you ask, no, it's not dead. It's currently unconscious and probably won't be able to move again for a few days. So, shall we have a rest here and wait for the Axew to be ready to fight again or should we continue immediately?" Although she wasn't admitting it, the Axew obviously wasn't in the best of conditions. Even William could tell that, and he spent a long time with social interaction limited to the phrase: "Hello. You've reached William the Gastly. If you wish to kill me, please just give up. If you think you've reached this Pokémon by accident, please just remove yourself as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience, William the Gastly." After that, they usually ran away or still tried to kill him, so his ability to read emotions wasn't too developed. Yet the pain in her voice was obvious. That, and that William had deemed her as too weak for this mission already. Estimating another's strength was something the Gastly had had to practice quite often, so he trusted his assumptions. A Pokémon of her strength couldn't be all right after a battle like this. And they couldn't just leave her there... | |
