| It was a day, just like any other day. The sun was shining up high in the skies, Flying types were chirping and the various rescue teams set out on their missions. One of those teams consisted out of William the Gastly and Tsukishiro the Absol. The two of them had just reached the entrance to the Serene Cave, the assumed hiding spot of two outlaws. One was a thief, the other was accused of disturbing the peace. William could understand, why they chose this as their domain. The many tunnels and paths inside the Serene Cave had caused him to get lost many times on his journeys, and he might not have been able to leave them again a few times, had it not been for his ability to pass through solid matter. The sunlight, falling onto the rugged rocks around the cave entrance, cast bizarre, pointy shadows on the warm stone below them. A breeze of refreshingly cool air flowed out of the entrance, almost beckoning the duo inside. A variety of scratching noises, combined with the sound of dripping water and the slightly rotten smell of mosses however, that had followed the breeze out of the cave, immediately destroyed the illusion of a place to relax. Yet, they would enter these caves. They would find the outlaws and they would defeat them. William knew it. "Are you ready?" | |

| "I think so," blinked Shiro, smiling a little. She was rather nervous as she had never taken on an outlaw mission before. However, William had apparently had some experience with them meaning that as a team, the duo weren't both inexperience in that field. The Absol decided not to wait any longer and began to move into the caves. She had been here before and knew the terrain, which was reassuring, but of course being a mystery dungeon, every time she stepped into the caves they were slightly different. The Absol thanked Arceus for her dark typing, for it enabled her to see at least slightly better in the darkness compared to other Pokemon. | |

| Silently, William followed Shiro into the cave, grateful, that his affinity towards the shadows granted him rather effective nightvision. The rhythmic dripping of water from some stalactites caused a bizarre, yet calming melody to echo through the cavern, endlessly reflected and distorted by its mossy, barren walls. "So...do you have any idea. where we should start? I do wonder actually...what has created these caves? A maze like this one doesn't occur naturally." The twisted passages, that opened up in front of the duo allowed a variety of ways to be taken. Which one would lead them to their targets? What did the other ones lead to? And why did that Loudred have to be quiet just when they arrived? Questions over questions... | |

| The Absol padded through the caves, her mind wandering to unrelated topics as she walked. She was snapped from her irrelevant thoughts by William speaking again. "I guess we should just pick a passage to go down until we find some clues," blinked Shiro before replying to the Gastly's other question, "Whatever created this must have been quite a powerful force." Shiro couldn't help but wonder as she walked, how it must feel to live here. Especially because there were supposedly two 'outlaws' here at this very moment in time. Did the inhabitants even know? Other than the one that had requested the outlaws be dealt with of course. | |

| Kim was wondering around looking for a good berry. As she looked around she noticed the cave entrance. As she got closeer she noticed an Absol and a Gastly. Being the friendly thing she was she Decided to say hi. "Hi! Are you guys gonna enter that cave?" She asked smiling. The ghost scared her a but but the absol mad her feel secure. She seemed nice. |

| Not having expected to be approached by anyone other than Shiro, William turned around quite abruptly, preparing for the worst. As he spotted the Axew, he calmed down a bit, yet he still didn't let his guard down. His years spent in the wilderness had taught him that much. Still surprised, the Gastly answered: "No, we're just standing here, because we like to admire the beautiful composition of this blank cave wall. Honestly though, we are already in the cave. Asking that question now would be a bit late, don't you think? What are you doing here anyways? This place is a dangerous one, so might I suggest for you to look for a safer place to play?" William was still unsure, what he should think about the Axew. Could it be trusted? Should it be trusted? And why did it talk to them? They were a Ghost and Poison type and a Dark type. Those types weren't really known as the most harmless ones. "Darn anti-authoritarian education, I assume...", he silently muttered. | |

| "Hey I might be young but I'm not weak.... I'm just a little curious. I've been in these caves before. I didn't go very far but I'm pretty sure I could survive in there." Kim said confidently. She took that as a challenge. She was rather friendly and it showed heavily as she talked. She spoke like they had known each other for a while. |

| Tsukishiro blinked at the sound of an unfamiliar voice and turned to see an Axew outside the cave's entrance. Unsure of what to say she glanced at William before turning her gaze back to the Axew. From how friendly she seemed, it was unlikely that she were a feral Pokemon or one that would attack them... unless she was a thief of some description. But even then, would an stealthier approach have been more strategic, if not entirely easier? "What's your name?" asked Shiro, deciding that she should return the friendliness. | |

| William was still suspicious. Was she a distraction so that her colleagues could rob them? After glancing around, he decided to respond: "I sincerely doubt you could. I've survived in the wilderness for years and these caves still manage to be a challenge to be reckoned with. You should get out of here now, before you get hurt or lost. But since I don't assume, that there's any chance of you actually listening to me, my name is William. And yours would be?" Memories began to well up inside William once again. Unpleasant memories they were, about an overly friendly Dratini, that had haunted him around the world. Hopefully this Axew would be less...energetic. | |

| "My name is Kim! I'm from Rainfront town. I came to Grassveil to join the guild... If its really that dangerous shouldn't you have more help? Its always good to have more friends!" Kim said smiling. She liked having a bit of attention. She might even get them to be her friends! That in her mind would be awesome. |

| "I'm Tsukishiro... most just call me Shiro. Pleased to meet you," smiled the Absol. She was beginning to wonder if the Axew was being a bit too friendly, but attempted to ignore it, instead moving on. "Well we have work to do, so instead of hanging around here and chitchatting why not continue to head into this very menacing and dark cave? You could always tag along I guess. There's not much harm in that." Shiro was confident that even if the Axew was an outlaw, her vision would be impaired in the cave due to her not being a type that could see well in the darkness. If Kim really was just an innocent Pokemon then Shiro and William could always help her out later. | |

| "Certainly more help couldn't hurt. But I don't think it would be a good idea to bring you along. The danger still is too high, and additionally we haven't trained together. We could be falling over one another or accidentally hit us. And that is something, one would generally want to avoid. Maybe you'll find your own rescue team to join and explore this cave yourself when you've reached an adequate level of strength." William just wanted to get rid of the Dragon type as quickly as possible. Even if she was trying to help, it would only put her in danger and destroy the coordination of their mission, making it last longer than required. Always remain cautious. That was one of the first rules the Gastly had had to learn while living in the wilderness of the Pecha Forest. And it definitely wouldn't be too good for his reputation, should a young Pokémon suddenly go missing in his presence. Yet, William had experienced this personality type too often already. He was sure: She wouldn't leave. | |

| "But.... I wanna help. I can run if things get to be to much. But I wanna help. I promise I won't get in your way." Kim said. She loved to explore. Even if there was danger she was sure she could handle it.

| Shiro frowned. What William was saying was true. Especially because they were tailing two outlaws instead of just one in this dungeon, it might be risky to bring along a companion that they had no experience with and were unsure about. Plus she knew she'd feel guilty if the Axew joined them and then got hurt in the process. "Maybe Will is right. I wouldn't want you to get hurt... plus as a dragon type you can't see too well in the dark. You might end up hindering our movements without meaning to." | |

| "And where would you run away to? This cavern is more of a maze. And it gets worse, the deeper you go. What you'll find, should you decide to run, has an estimated chance of 98.64% not to be the exit. A risk far too big for you to take in my opinion. If you love exploring that much, go explore the Small Pond or something like that. Oh yes, I forgot. One of our contractors explicitely asked the guild not to send any Dragon types. He was scared of them for some reason I believe...so sorry, you can't come with us." While William was a friendly Pokémon in general, he wasn't above lying to accomplish his goals, especially should the other party refuse to follow logical reasoning. Hopefully the little bundle of immaturity in front of them would listen now. Why did everyone have to think of themselves as Captain Saves-The-Day-Super-Awesome? Why couldn't they see, hat they might get injured? Was the Pokémon being really that flawed? | |
