A Hoenn Adventure

Cassidy woke up to the sound of her rather loud Taillow alarm. The clock was a plain pale blue other than the Taillow model situated on top of it. The alarm continued to play the recorded "Taillow! Taillow!" call until Cassy rolled over and turned it off, looking at the time as she did so.
It was 6:30am and Cass was about to go back to sleep when she realised what the day was. She practically threw the quilt off herself as she leaped out of bed, stretching her arms. She went over to her window and threw open the curtains before opening the windows themselves to let in the fresh air.

After taking a quick shower to freshen up, Cassidy went back into her room to get changed. Sifting through her drawers, she picked out a shirt that was white with orange stripes. To go with it, she picked out a pair of pale peach coloured three quarter length trousers and a pale blue coat. Once she was dressed, she brushed her dark red hair and dug underneath her bed for her bag.
The bag was a simple, grey-blue shoulder bag but it was roomy and would likely hold all of what she would need to take with her.

Once she had packed everything she was going to take with her, she put her shoes on, grabbed her dark blue scarf and left a note in the kitchen for her parents when they woke up. She headed out at 7:30.

Cassidy didn't have to meet the Professor in his laboratory until about 10:00, so she spent the next few hours just outside of Littleroot Town, watching the world go by. She sat with her sketch book in her lap and her pencils and watercolours in one pocket of her bag. The route however, seemed to be deserted. There were no Pokemon to draw and she was so familiar with Route 101 now that she could draw every blade of grass without looking.

After a long while of sitting silently Cas gathered her things with a sigh and headed back into Town. She wandered down the street on her way to her friend Celeste's house. Surely she would be up and about by now. It was nearly 9:30 after all. Only half an hour to go until they could meet their new Pokemon!

When Celeste awoke, she heard Cassidy's soft snoring. With a chuckle, she stood and made sure not to wake her friend. Walking into the back rooms, she found her Pokemon just waking up. "Hello guys." She whispered fondly, petting their heads with great affection.

"Kiip! (Celeste!)"

"Wiing!(Good to see you~)"

"Suuur.(Hello.)"

"Tad. Lotad.(Nice to meet you.)"

Cassy had fallen asleep whilst thinking about contest appeals but promptly woke up as she felt a soft breeze as Celeste walked past. Blinking her eyes open she leaped to her feet and announced, "I've got it!"
She got a few stares from the people in the area and promptly scuttled off the the back room.

"Hey Celeste," she smiled cheerfully before going over to her Pokemon.

"Hey! Sorry if I woke you." She was petting Deluge's head and chuckled when the Surskit let out a strange noise. "Alright then, what now?" She asked, standing up. Doro glared at the other three Pokemon and leaped onto Celeste's head. Ace settled on her shoulder. Deluge and Halcyon simply climbed down from the table/bed that they were sitting upon and sat by her feet. Well, Halcyon sat. Deluge had began skating about around her feet.

Celeste laughed at the strange way Deluge walked about.

"It's alright," smiled Cassidy as twayblade once again reclaimed her perch on Cas' shoulder. She returned Ditrysia and Shiruva to their Pokeballs but decided to keep Serena out so that she could get to know her.

"I don't know. I guess we could explore the city, perhaps find a nice place to train for the gym challenge?" she suggested.

Celeste nodded. "I agree." Her Pokemon each crowed their assent as well. "Well, should we head back to route 102? Or find a new route? Or we could ask trainers around town if they'd like to battle with us." Celeste began naming a bunch of scenarios.

"We could probably find some trainers back on Route 102. I mean.. we stayed pretty close to the path on the way out there... other than checking by that stretch of water."

Serena had climbed up and settled on Cassy's head, much like Ditysia had done that once and Doro was doing on Celeste.

Doro waved at Serena from his perch atop Celeste's skull. "Kiip~ Muuud. (I'm Doro. You are?)"

Celeste nodded. "Alright, sounds good to me!" She walked out of the building, Deluge and Halcyon following closely behind, Ace taking flight.

"Who to train first.." She mused. She began contemplating different displays of attacks that could be used in contests and in battle. This kept her busy for a while. She soon began to wonder who was needing leveling the most and who could wait until a later date.

"Ralts!~(Serena!~)" she smiled, waving back at Doro. Twayblade watched the small conversation, half amused by it.

"I'm going to work with Serena and then work on levelling Twayblade. According to the Pokedex she could learn Quick Attack soon," replied Cas, leading the way out of the Pokemon centre and towards Route 102.
She glanced around, looking for a trainer to battle, she saw two of them, both Bug catchers. They reminded Cas of Tyler from yesterday but she didn't mention it.

"Hey!" she called over to them, "Fancy a battle?"

"Only if it's a tag battle!" grinned the female, the male bug catcher just agreeing.

Cassidy turned to Celeste, wondering if she'd be her tag team partner for this battle.

Celeste grinned. "We're game!" She thought for a moment. "Alright..Halcyon, let's see what you got!" The Lotad warbled happily and toddled up to his place.

"Let the games begin, eh?"

Serena hopped down from Cassidy's head and looked at her trainer, determination in her eyes... though no one could see because they were hidden under the green helmet.

The female bug catcher sent out a Silcoon, which Cassidy recognized straight away due to having one herself.

Halcyon locked gazes with Serena the best he could and gave her a nod. "Tad! Loootad! (Let's do our best! We can win!)"

Celeste watched as the male bug catcher sent out a Volbeat. She smirked dangerously. "Alright, Halcyon! We'll kick this thing off. Astonish! On the Silcoon!"

Halcyon dashed as fast as he could on his tiny stub legs and attempted to attack the Silcoon, being sure to keep himself out of the way of the Silcoon's path of movement. Which wasn't very large at any rate.

"Silcoon use Poison Sting!"
A small purple sphere formed in front of the Silcoon and numerous purple poison filled barbs were shot from it, heading straight for the Lotad.

"Use Growl, Serena!"
The Ralts did as she was bid and growled at the Volbeat
"Follow up with Shadow Sneak!"

All of a sudden the Ralts disappeared. All that was visible of her was a small shadow on the ground that was heading straight for the Volbeat.

"Get out of there, Halcyon!" Celeste shouted.

Halcyon dashed away, a single needle scraping across his back. He winced, but was not poisoned this time around.

"Astonish, once more!" Celeste ordered, a bit more wary of the Silcoon's dangerous spines.

Halcyon ran back towards the spiny Pokemon and used Astonish one more time. He was careful to keep away from its spikes.

The Volbeat clutched at its ears after the growl penetrated them. This left it disoriented and it literally didn't know what hit it when the Ralts sneaked up on it.

A burst of energy escaped from the ground as the Shadow Sneak hit. It was only a few seconds before Serena was back in her original position a few metres away.

The female Bug catcher shouted for the Silcoon to use Poison Sting again, but wise to the attack now, the Lotad dodged. She frowned as her Silcoon was hit by the Astonish.
"String Shot!" she yelled, hoping to catch the Lotad whilst it was close.

"Use Growl again Serena!"
The little Ralts opened it's mouth and let out another powerful growling sound.

Both the Silcoon and the Volbeat were now grimacing as the sound resounded through their heads. This gave Halcyon the time to dodge out of the way. He blinked to show he heard Celeste when she shouted for him to keep using Astonish. He obliged and did so while the Silcoon was still incapacitated.
