Three Talented Trainers (Hoenn RP)

Ellie rose early on a beautiful, bright morning in Mauville City. She and her friends had decided to go on a journey across their home region, and today was the day they would begin that journey. Ellie had packed most of her stuff the night before, and was just finishing it off now, her Taillow, Reese, bringing over the spare pokeballs she had bought from the mart the day before. After packing those as well, Ellie headed downstairs, Reese fluttering after her.
"I'll see you around mum!" called Ellie as she headed out the door, ready to go and meet her two friends and set off on their journey.

Ellie's Team:

It was a wonderful, warm and bright morning in Mauville City.
Drat. Wilson wasn't too much of a fan of "good" weather, he preferred a soft nightly rain.
So this was the day, he and his friends were going to go on their more or less epic journey.
Yet, Wilson had a feeling of pressure on his chest. Was he getting sick? On a day as important as this?
On second glance, the source of the feeling was easily identified.
Wilson's favourite boulder had grown tired of waiting and had been sitting on his chest, waiting for him to wake up.
With a mixture of a smile and a sigh, he set the Roggenrola down, getting ready to leave the house.
After walking down the stairs, Wilson left a note to his parents on the kitchen table before leaving the house.

 

Team:

"Don't forget your pokeballs, dear" an elderly voice spoke to the impatient brown haired 16 year old who had been ready to bolt out the door with his bag slung over his shoulder, not bothering to use the second strap.
"Grandma..they're in my bag..." the youth spoke with a bored tone. He tried to look for a way around the elderly woman, but she stood in the middle of the hallway right in front of the door to block his path.
"Yeah? Well then what are these that I have?" The woman held up circular objects that shook with her elderly hand as she held a sly smile.
"Those are the light bulbs from the kitchen how did you get those!?!?" Joseph exclaimed. He looked at the clock and groaned in annoyance, "Ugh, i have to go...Give those to mom when she gets back from work alright Grandma?"
"What was that Billy?" The grandma joked, "Fine, Fine. Go off on your crazy adventure with your crazy friends to do god knows what." She moved to let Joseph past and bid him farewell as he darted down the lawn and into the main part of the city. He took out a sixth pokeball from his bag and tossed it into the air, it opened up with a flash to reveal a heracross that flew along beside him as he ran. He had received the Heracross as a family heirloom, well the origional heirloom's offspring that is. He couldn't wait to start his adventure with his friends, so he arrived there...five hours early.

Team So far:

Ellie arrived at the pre-arranged meeting point near the edge of Mauville City, leading to Route 117, and noticed that Joseph was already there.
"Hi!~" she grinned, running over, her golden blonde hair flowing out behind her. Reese followed her, the young Taillow happy to feel the wind between her feathers on such a beautiful morning.
"Any idea when Wil will get here?" she asked, looking up at the taller person.

"I guess that would be about now.", Wilson replied, having just arrived.
"So, is there still something you need to do or can we get this thing on the road? The little guy is getting a little heavy."
It was relatively obvious, that Wilson wasn't too interested in smalltalk and would much rather prefer for them to finally begin their journey.

"It's about time you two got here, I've been waiting for hours. Anyways, I'm assuming that our first destination is Rust-whatever-it's-called. As i'm sure you all know, it's just past Venda-what's-it and across the whismer-cave-thing" Seph spoke as he turned to face the route ahead of them. It was probably going to be a long walk before they reached the place, since his geography of the region and cities inside of it was absolutely abysmal. His heracross, Herc, made a happy buzzing sound as he landed next to Seph. He gave a happy "HERA!" and a wave to greet the two friends.

Team So far:

"I'm assuming you mean Rustboro and Verdanturf," chuckled Ellie good-naturedly, "And that cave is the Rusturf tunnel." Reese gently landed on Ellie's shoulder, chirruping cheerfully in greeting to Seph, Herc, Wilson and Elvis.
"Anyhow before we reach Verdanturf I wanna do some training on this Route, maybe even catch a new Pokemon!" grinned Ellie, Reese agreeing wholeheartedly.

"That might make sense, but I doubt there'll be any catchworthy Pokémon around here. Haven't seen one yet at least."
Elvis gave off a rumble, that probably meant, that he agreed. After all, most Pokémon in that direction were Grass and Water types, two types he wasn't too much a fan of.
"But if you think it'll be neccessary", he sighed, "go on ahead. You'll see, that you're wasting your time."

"Come ooon no pokemon isn't catchworthy," Seph huffed at Wilson. He turned and walked a bit deeper into the route before stopping and realizing, he had no idea where he was going. He refused to turn around and asking for help so he marched forward blindly. He was lucky that the route wasn't too filled with trees so it was a bit easy to decipher where he had been from the shape of the land. He didn't know if his friends had followed him or not, but kind of hoped they did when a blue and white ball seemed to fly towards him and smack him right in the face.

Ellie followed but her attention was immeidately drawn to a group of pokemon floating around a short distance away. Their rear ends were glowing and they left little trails of light in the air as they flew. Finding it fascinating, Ellie wandered over, completely missing the spectacle of a Marill smacking Seph right in the face.
Moving slowly so as not to scare the firefly pokemon, Ellie reached the area where they were gathered.
"I almost don't wanna disturb them," she smiled as they flew around her.

Wilson meanwhile was ignoring the two, seeing a Goldeen splashing around on the edge of a small pond. It seemed to have accidentally jumped out of the water and now was unable to get back in.
Chuckling at the futile display of frantic hopping, Wilson decided to watch the spectacle for a while, since, as a quick glance around the area revealed, the other two seemed to be busy anyways.

The blue mouse pokemon pulled at his hair and slapped him with his tail before Herc managed to pry the pokemon off of Seph. The trainer stood up and looked at the pokemon, stupefied as it began to thrash about in a fit and glare at him. Herc looked at Seph, confused, before standing in front of Seph to speak with the Marill, only to receive a tackle on his stomach. Herc growled at the pokemon and retaliated with a Horn Attack.

"Use Mirror Move," Ellie whispered to Reese. The Taillow did so, her own forked tail glowing with a pale, yellow light. She fluttered around, leaving the same golden trail in the air behind her. Taking advantage of this, Reese did a spin as she flew upwards, creating a neat, spiraling pattern of light.
Ellie grinned, "That's awesome! I think I'm gonna catch one."

Deciding on one that looked strong and capable of defending itself, Ellie asked Reese to use Peck. The Taillow swooped in, targeting the one that Ellie had pointed out and getting in a perfect hit. Being super effective on the pure bug type, the Volbeat was knocked out of the air, colliding with the ground. Before it could shake the dust from it's wings and rise again, Ellie had thrown a pokeball towards it, the Volbeat being drawn inside.

Deciding to get at least something out of this, the bored Wilson ordered Elvis to use Tackle on the defenseless fish. The Goldeen was quickly defeated, so Wilson decided to leave again, even if that meant, that he'd have to drag the other two along. But as he got up, a Pokéball fell out of his pocket, rolling towards the sushi buffet, capturing it easily.
Angry about having wasted a perfectly good Pokéball, Wilson decided to pick it up anyways.
While the Goldeen certainly woudn't be useful, he probably would be able to think of something...

The maril used another tackle attack, infuriating the Heracross even more despite not doing much damage. Herc gave it an angry look as his horn glowed a bright green and he charged towards the now frightened marill. The horn collided with the Marill, sending it into the sky as he flicked it up into the air. Seph decided wondered what he had done to make the Marill attack him, until he looked down and noticed a band that was broken and must have been on the marill's tail. It had the letters "CAL" engraved in it. He assumed that the marill was recently dumped by a trainer, a horrible one if they named a female marill a male name(from what he considered). As the marill plummeted back towards the earth, screaming like a banshee, she was silenced when a red and white ball rocketed towards her and struck her square in the head. The ball shook once...twice...thrice...after a satisfying click rang from the ball. Joseph had just caught A marill.
