A Relaxing Afternoon by the Pond?

Tsukishiro quietly padded through Grassveil's town square. She had just gotten back from a day of exploring and was hoping to take a nice relaxing walk by the pond. She looked tired, but in fact she was anything but. She felt like she could do a second exploration right there and then without worrying, but she knew she needed to take things slowly. After all she was new to this exploring thing and didn't want to overtax her body.

This was why she was heading down towards the pond. Shiro hoped that the calmer atmosphere might help her relax a little. It was late in the afternoon, but the sun was still fairly high in the sky, giving the Absol hours of daylight to work with before she had to be back in her sleeping quarters to rest up for tomorrow.

A few minutes later she padded through the thin group of trees that surrounded the pond. She headed straight towards the water, taking a small drink from it before shaking her fur and glancing around to see what other Pokemon were nearby.

Ace tossed the stick up and down a few times before resuming a fighting stance, "Well when the battle is going nowhere, you have to change things up."

This time, he decided to go all out with the first strike, he rushed towards the Shrio, and swung the stick downwards as hard as he could.

Shiro quickly used her powerful back legs to propel herself into the air. As she leaped, she angled herself so that when she landed, it would only take one swift movement to turn and attack Ace from behind. The Absol just hoped that the Snivy was quick enough to counter so that it would all look convincing.
Her paws touched the ground and she used them to leap towards Ace once again.

Trying to keep his eyes on Shiro, the Snivy watched as she leaped in his direction once again. Not having enough time to think of dodging, Ace went with his first instinct in the situation he was in.

Swing the stick as hard as he can at the leaping Absol. If everything turned out like he hoped, he could cut her off mid leap, and send her towards the ground.

Tsukishiro hid a sly smile as the stick collided with her white fur and sent her back towards the ground. She lay there sprawled on the grass after a bit of dramatic acting.
"It seems the hero does always come out on top. I should be more careful," she giggled before getting back up onto her paws.

"That was an awesome battle!" she grinned.

Ace smirked, realizing that he (seemingly) won the battle, he tossed the stick behind him onto the ground.

"I'll admit, that was probably the most fun I've had in a while. I can't say that I'm not impressed with your fighting skill either. Overall, a good battle." he said.

"I used to live up in the mountains so I had to fight to survive, but you're a good match for my generation at least," she smiled, padding back over to the water to take a quick drink. As she lapped up the water she caused ripples to grace it's surface. The crowd that had gathered began to dwindle away as they either returned to their places by the pond or went back into town.

Ace crossed his arms, as he watched the pond grow quiet once more.
"While it's been fun, I doubt anything like that is going to happen here for a while, so unless you still need me for anything else, I should be on my way." he said, as he started to turn away from the pond.

"I guess not..." she frowned, looking up from the pond side.
"See you around Ace!"
The Absol watched as the Snivy wandered away from the pond. She blinked before turning back to the water. She lay back down, watching her rippling reflection. Perhaps now she could get that relaxation she had come here for in the first place.

Tsukishiro chuckled. There probably wasn't a chance in hell she would 'relax'.
