In all of Time and Space - Unova RP

Claudia wandered out of the house with a cheerful, "Byee!" to her mother and a quick wave. She carried with her a pale blue bag which no doubt stored some impressive amount of possessions in it. Claudia's long red hair hung loose, flowing out behind her as she skipped down the road of Nuvema Town and headed towards Professor Juniper's laboratory.
Today was the day she was going to start her Pokemon journey. Today was the day where she would finally get a Pokemon of her own!
Grinning to herself, she once again went through the three Pokemon that most new trainers in Unova chose from when they started their journeys.

There was Snivy, the grass type. Lithe, nimble and pretty cool by starter standards.
Secondly there was Tepig, the fire type. Tepig was kinda cute in Claudia's opinion, but having seen some of it's evolutions, she was less than keen to choose one. A previous run in with a trainer's angry Emboar had put her off of them and to be honest she still found it hard to be around them.
Last but not least, there was Oshawott, the water type. The first time Claudia had seen an Oshawott she had literally squealed at how adorable it looked. She couldn't believe it actually evolved into such a strong looking Pokemon.

Claudia was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that she had reached the laboratory. Gently, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Gabriel laughed in an exaggerated manner. (Ahem Blackstar laugh. |D) "THAT'S HILARIOUS. I'LL NEVER BE AWOKEN SO EASILY!" He screeched, throwing open his door and running inside it like a mad man. He shouted his goodnights to Claudia before closing his door and running amok.

After about a half hour of running about and rearranging things to his liking, Gabriel was finally ready for bed. He was in his pajamas and had brushed his teeth and whatnot. However, what was not normal in this regular night routine was this; Gabriel had created a gigantic nest of blankets and pillows (and one mattress). With a happy hum, Gabriel settled down into his nest, curling into a tiny ball.

This whole 'turn all of my bedding into a nest' thing had begun when he was about eight. His mother had sat down beside of him, holding a book from when she was a little girl. As she read the story, Gabriel began to drift off to sleep. In his dreams the characters roamed; a bird as large as a horse; a little boy who had wings; and a girl who tamed the giant bird.

It was the next night that he begun making nests.

Now, one may think that it was a bit silly for a fourteen year old boy to still be doing something from out of a story book. Well, it was really a force of habit by this point. However, there was one much larger reason that Gabe still created nests each night.

That night when his mother read him that story book, voice soft and melodic but with a slight hint of urgency, was the last night Gabriel ever saw his Mother.

When he awoke the next morning, she was gone without a trace. He asked his father but he remained silent. After months and months of asking and waiting for an answer, Gabriel gave up. The story was the last thing he remembered of her. And the nesting made him feel close to her. This makes such a thing seem a wee bit less silly, eh?

Besides, what is Gabriel if not silly?

Claudia waved goodnight to Gabriel and unlocked her room, stepping inside. It was a simple room and had a bunk bed, like most of the rooms in the Pokemon Centre did. She dumped her bag down on the ground and kicked her shoes off. Deciding not to spend time unpacking everything since they would be likely leaving in the morning. She merely washed, brushed her own teeth and got into her pale orange Pajamas.

Sitting back down on her bed, she wondered how her Pokemon were doing downstairs. She had thought it best to leave them for the night so that the nurses could continue to heal them so that they were fit as a fiddle in the morning. Suddenly feeling bored, she pulled out a sketchbook and a watercolour set. Using a pencil, she quickly sketched a picture of Laurel and Celandine's first meeting. After doing a spot of shading on the sketch, she packed her sketchbook away, deciding that it would give her something to do later. Instead she took out her violin and decided to tune it.

The odd notes echoed through her room as she twisted the knobs to tighten the instrument's strings. When she was done, she flicked through some original compositions, wondering if she could use one of them in a contest somehow...

After a few hours or so of amusing herself, Claudia finally turned in, curling up under the bedsheets. She blinked for a moment, stretching towards the nearby table to turn the lamp off, before she turned back over and promptly fell asleep.

The next morning, Gabriel managed to wake up first. He literally fell out of his nest/bed and onto his face once he realized this fact. And then, of course, he pulled together a real quick prank for Claudia. What? It's her own fault for sleeping in late~

After this, she would realize why it's an awful idea to wake up after Gabriel.

After a moment, Gabe decided to go with a classic. He sneaked into Claudia's bedroom, picking the lock with a hairpin. (Which he totally only uses for picking locks. /cough) He shut the door behind him quietly before kneeling by Claudia's face. He pulled out his handy dandy markers, warmed the tips of them by breathing hot air onto them, and quickly drew upon her face.

Once he was finished, he had drawn a monocle, a mustache, a unibrow, and various...body parts.

Now for Phase Two.

Gabe, noticing the time, quickly rigged up a 'open-the-door-get-water-in-the-face' type trick. He settled the bucket in it's place and then realized that he was now trapped in the room. He facepalmed. He then dropped off the balcony into a tree. It was from here that he would see his plan unfold.

Claudia got up straight after Gabriel leaped out of the window and shook her head at his mischievousness. She had been awake the entire time, but had decided to let him have his fun. Luckily for her, he had been too focused on trying to prank her to notice that her breathing wasn't as steady as it should have been. Whilst Gabriel was climbing back up the tree, she retrieved the bucket using the top bunk bed and stood by the window. As Gabe came into view, she threw the bucket of water over him, laughing at the now sopping wet being before her.

"That'll teach you to try and prank me!"
She then dropped the bucket out of the window before going to the bathroom sink to wash the marker off of her face.

After that, she got changed, closed her window and grabbed her bag before going downstairs. She didn't forget to lock the door behind her as she went downstairs.
At the counter, she reclaimed her Pokemon and handed over her room key. As she would most likely be leaving the town today, she deemed it unnecessary to keep the key with her.

After releasing Laurel from her Pokeball, the Snivy climbed up onto Claudia's shoulder. She looked refreshed and raring to go!

Gabriel pouted and made a huge commotion as he changed his outfit, throwing the wet one into his backpack, not really caring what got wet because of it. "I'LL LIVE TO PRANK AGAIN!" He screeched, finishing off his tirade.

He trudged down the stairs, full speed ahead before having a head on collision with a Nurse Joy pushing a cart of Pokeballs. "Sorry!" He called out with a wink, helping her pick up a few of them before dashing off again.

"ICHOROUUUSS! TYYSOOON! DADDY'S HOOOME!~" Gabe shouted as he reached the room where Claudia had already retrieved her Pokemon. He gathered up his Pokemon in his arms and cuddled them. He cooed at them lovingly, grinning all the while.

Claudia laughed at Gabriel before she interrupted their reunion.
"How about we find a nice open space in the town to come up with some neat combinations for our contests then?" she suggested, tilting her head to the side.

Nurse Joy overheard her and blinked. "Oh, do you two know when the next contest is?" she asked, hoping to be able to help.
Claudia shook her head. She had meant to check, but hadn't gotten around to it.
"Striaton City in three days time," replied the nurse, "It's the next town over. Good luck by the way!"

Grinning, Claudia turned back to Gabriel.
"Hear that? We'd better get a move on!" she chuckled.

"Yikes! Three days!?" Gabe leaped up, Tyson clinging onto his arm and Ichorous watching the Lillipup go with an amused look. "ONWARDS! TO THE TOWN SQQQUUAAAREE!~" Gabriel shot off in one direction.

Ichorous coughed. Gabe turned around and raised an eyebrow. "What?" Ichorous pointed in the opposite direction of where his trainer had headed. "Oh. I KNEW THAT." Gabriel continued his running, now in the direction Ichorous had pointed out.

Ichorous rolled his eyes and made an exasperated noise before toddling off after his trainer. It was contest time and there was no way he was missing out!

Claudia followed quietly, arriving in the square a short time later. Laurel remained equally calm on the journey.

When the reached the square, the unfortunately found it rather crowded. For some reason, most of the town was gathered there. Upon closer look, it seemed that someone was giving a speech of some kind. She moved closer to listen to the speech.

A man dressed in weird clothing was talking to the crowd about Pokemon liberation. Though his intentions seemed pure, she didn't get why he wanted people to release their Pokemon so much. After all, Pokemon are good companions as well as friends, and not all of them are captured. Some choose to follow a human...
She looked to Laurel,
"You don't mind being with me, do you?" she asked. The Snivy shook her head before smiling.
"Snivy Sni. Vy-vy, sni."

Caudia didn't know exactly what her Pokemon was saying, but she got the gist of it d smiled back. She was happy to know that Laurel would stand by her no matter what.

Gabriel's brow furrowed as he listened to the strange man's speech. He was making it sound as if the humans kept Pokemon as mindless slaves! Honestly, he wasn't sure whether or not to beat the guy up or feel a bit hurt that some of these people actually felt this way. He deciding to make his point.

"Do explain what gives you the right to decide when companionship becomes slavery." He called out, eyebrow twitching in his anger. "I mean, these Pokemon all seem perfectly content to me!" He gestured broadly with his arms. To his left was a Purrloin curled up in an old woman's lap, purring happily and licking its paw. On his right was a little girl playing with a Pidove who was chirruping merrily. "I don't think they mind." He glared at the odd looking man.

Tyson licked Gabe's face in answer, beaming up at him. Gabriel chuckled a bit at that. Ichorous just scowled and nudged his trainer's leg. Gabe bent down with a smirk and gave the Oshawott a noogie.

"How can you tell?" replied Ghetsis in a rather sincere tone. He didn't like the fact that someone was attempting to answer back. This simple reply sparked chatter among the members of the crowd. The Pokemon that didn't want to be 'liberated' tried to calm their trainers down, but to no avail.

Claudia looked around at the suddenly louder crowd. They all seemed to be considering the fact that their Pokemon might not actually like them. Now Claudia herself couldn't understand what Pokemon say word for word, but her time spent with Pokemon on her mother's ranch had enabled her to develop the ability to understand most of what a Pokemon was trying to convey. Glancing around again, she focused on the cries of the Pokemon in the square before she turned to look up at Ghetsis.

"None of the Pokemon here want to be separated from their human partners, I can tell you this much just by listening to them! We are their companions just as much as they are ours and you have no right to try and change that."

Gabriel had added into Claudia's cries above the clamor and had generally created a huge ruckus. His Pokemon were barking and making noises angrily along with the Pokemon around them, outraged. It was then when a young man who couldn't have been older than 19 stepped out from behind several of the people crowded around the strangely dressed man. His hair fell to his butt (/i'mnotevensorry) and was a pale green, pulled into a pony tail. He walked gracefully into the crowd, the people and Pokemon clearing out as they didn't want to be too close to him after all of this speculation and rumor.

The boy narrowed his eyes at Gabriel and Claudia, although not in a threatening manner. He seemed to be analyzing them. "You two.. You have such courage. Your Pokemon as well...I can hear them.." He trailed off, tilting his head as his gaze slipped over to the four Pokemon. He blinked once before pulling out his Pokeball. "Let me hear your Pokemon's voice! Loud and clear!"

Gabriel happily took his battle stance. If this guy wanted to fight, then a fight he would get! He still had some anger to vent off!

Claudia grabbed Celandine's Pokeball as the green-haired dude tossed his own Pokeball out onto the field. She let the Patrat out and quickly told her to watch the battle and learn from it. Nodding, Celandine scampered behind Claudia so that she wouldn't get hit by any attacks.

The boy grabbed a second Pokeball as his first Pokemon materialised, a Purrloin.
"Puurrloin~"
The second ball produced a Roggenrola, which remained silent.

"Alrighty then, Laurel?" she looked to the Snivy that was perched on her shoulder.
"You're up."

Grinning, the Snivy leaped down and landed gently on the ground. She swished her tail to a fro before wandering closer to her opponents and putting some distance between herself and her trainer.

Once Gabriel's Pokemon had also joined the battle, the green-haired boy commanded his Purrloin to use Assist. The Assist came out as Headbutt and the Purrloin hurtled towards Ichorous, it's head lowered as it prepared to attack.

Gabriel's orders were quick and concise. "Ichorous, dodge and then use Water Gun!" Earlier on he had scanned the Starter's moves and level and was pleased to find that he had learned a brand new move.

Ichorous, although not that fast, was still pretty nimble. He leaped into the air, the Purrloin's paws and head narrowly missing him. From in the air he shot a stream of water at the Pokemon before rolling back into a fighting stance. He allowed himself to glow with pride for a moment at a move well made.

Keeping one eye on the Purrloin, Ichorous checked to be sure Laurel was still doing okay. As he watched, the mysterious stranger sent his Roggenrola to use Tackle. The tiny rock type pokemon was headed straight for the Grass Snake Pokemon.

"Vine Whip! Stop it in it's tracks!"

"Snivy," (Right) blinked Laurel, using her tail to help brace her for the impact. Two vines extended from her back and moved forwards, pushing into the Roggenrola and stopping it's Tackle attack. The rock type Pokemon continued to try and run, kicking up tiny amounts of dust until it finally stopped running to take a breath.

"Purrloin! Use Tackle!"
The green-haired boy's command came in loud and clear. Claudia, knowing that Laurel was faster quickly got in her own command;

"Counter the Purrloin's Tackle with your own!"
Laurel quickly moved in, retracting her vines and leaving the rock type to catch it's breath. Her lithe, long body gave her the ability to duck in between the Oshawott and the Purrloin to counter the Purrloin's Tackle with a Tackle of her own. She collided into the Devious Pokemon with such force that she nearly sent herself rolling across the square.

Gabriel decided that if they were to win this battle, they'd need to learn how to work as a team. With a small nod he issued his next command. "Ichorous! Before it can attack again, use Trump Card!"

Ichorous dashed over to where Laurel and the Purrloin were locked in head to head (literally) combat. With careful aim, he showered the Pokemon with (omfg screw this) rainbowfletic rectangular thingamabobs.

Gabriel smiled a bit to himself. Eh, this whole team work thing couldn't be THAT hard.
