In all of Time and Space - Unova RP

Claudia wandered out of the house with a cheerful, "Byee!" to her mother and a quick wave. She carried with her a pale blue bag which no doubt stored some impressive amount of possessions in it. Claudia's long red hair hung loose, flowing out behind her as she skipped down the road of Nuvema Town and headed towards Professor Juniper's laboratory.
Today was the day she was going to start her Pokemon journey. Today was the day where she would finally get a Pokemon of her own!
Grinning to herself, she once again went through the three Pokemon that most new trainers in Unova chose from when they started their journeys.

There was Snivy, the grass type. Lithe, nimble and pretty cool by starter standards.
Secondly there was Tepig, the fire type. Tepig was kinda cute in Claudia's opinion, but having seen some of it's evolutions, she was less than keen to choose one. A previous run in with a trainer's angry Emboar had put her off of them and to be honest she still found it hard to be around them.
Last but not least, there was Oshawott, the water type. The first time Claudia had seen an Oshawott she had literally squealed at how adorable it looked. She couldn't believe it actually evolved into such a strong looking Pokemon.

Claudia was snapped from her thoughts when she realized that she had reached the laboratory. Gently, she knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer.

Claudia noticed the Patrat and decided that as it was the first Pokemon she had seen in the wild on her journey, she would catch it. She blinked as Gabriel waved at her and nodded before he wandered off, likely to train with Ichorous and perhaps find a Pokemon that he too wanted to capture..

"Alright Laurel. Let's go!"
A the Snivy hopped off of her shoulder, Claudia dug into her bag for her Pokeballs so that she would have them handy when she needed to throw one.

"Tackle!" she commanded, deciding to go in for a quick first hit. As she had suspected, Laurel was faster than the wild Pokemon, though not by much. The Patrat saw the move coming too late and was unable to dodge. It sent the Scout Pokemon flying backwards a few paces before it landed and picked itself back up. Instead of fighting back however, the Patrat leaped towards a nearby clump of grass and merely curled up behind it.

Laurel blinked, looking back at her trainer as if wondering what to do. She hadn't expected the Patrat not to fight back. Claudia shrugged to her Pokemon and slowly walked over to where the Pokemon was cowering. It had obviously heard her approach, but hadn't seen how close she was until her shadow loomed over it. Flinching, the Patrat looked up at Claudia.
Claudia gently reached down to pet the Patrat's head. It just seemed that it was a little timid and lacking in confidence. Claudia's resolve to capture the Pokemon only grew as she saw it's shyness. She would train with this Pokemon and help teach it that it needn't be frightened.

Reaching for one of her Pokeballs, she quietly tapped the Patrat on the head. She hoped that it would be timid enough to just stay inside so that she didn't have to scare it any more by trying to weaken it. Thankfully, the Pokeball clicked almost immediately. It seemed that the Scout Pokemon preferred the comfort of the Pokeball to the frightful place that the outside world was right now.

Gabe battled the Lillipup eagerly. He loved the Pokemon's enthusiasm and energy and was eating up it's sheer cuteness. He decided that one more move should finish the thing off enough to capture it.

"Ichorous, Tackle!" Gabriel was practically jumping up and down by now. He leaned forward expectantly as his Oshawott set forward.

Ichorous dashed forward, impacting the Lillipup head on. The Lillipup flew backwards, landing in a heap near a small bush. It struggled upwards and let out a growl, still fighting.

Oh yes, Gabriel definitely loved this Pokemon's fighting spirit. He threw a Pokeball and practically chewed his finger nails to nubs waiting and watching.

Ichorous held his breath, leaning more and more forward the more time elapsed.

Gabe and Ichorous let out a synchronized sigh of relief. The trainer, beaming excitedly, then opened up the pokeball and cradled the normal type in his arms. After a quick scan of his Pokedex, he discovered that it was a male and was level four.

"Oh you're too cute. Tyson! That's it. Tyson will fit you well. You're a little fighter!" He snuggled up to the Lillipup before extending his arms again and narrowing his eyes. "You won't breath a word of this. Gabriel Winchester does not cuddle." He glared at Ichorous as if to say 'you'd better keep quiet too.'

Claudia grinned as the Pokeball clicked. She had caught her first Pokemon! The young trainer spent a bit more time training with Laurel before she let the Patrat out of it's Pokeball again.

The Patrat looked around warily before realizing it was in roughly the same place as before and calmed down. However, it still looked at Laurel and Claudia with a stature that seemed to portray nervousness. Claudia knew that trying to train a Pokemon like this to perform in front of a crowd was likely going to be hard, but like she had reasoned before she caught it; She wanted to help it get over it's shyness. She wanted to help the Patrat gain some self-confidence.

Taking her Pokedex out of the right pocket in her hoodie, Claudia scanned the Scout Pokemon. Female, and with a nice Iron Tail move to boot. Claudia smiled. Hopefully she could work out some good appeals with that move.
"Alright then..." she muttered as she bent down, trying to get closer to the Patrat's own level.
"You're a girl... so a name.... How do you feel about Celandine?"

The Patrat blinked, looking thoughtful for a moment before she nodded slowly. Claudia grinned in response, gently reaching out to lift the Patrat into her arms. At first, Celandine was reluctant to let her trainer touch her, but then she gave in. When she was eventually in Claudia's arms, it didn't seem so bad.

"See? Nothing to be afraid of!" she smiled. Laurel looked up at Celandine and gave the Patrat a short wave and a smile.
"I'm Claudia...and this is Laurel," she introduced herself and her Snivy to the shy little Patrat. Celandine hesitated again before giving Laurel a tiny wave in response.

Grinning, Claudia put Celandine down and attempted to encourage her to go over and talk to Laurel rather than just waving silently. The Patrat looked at her trainer with a scared look in her eyes.
"Don't worry, I'll be right here," she replied, seeing the look in the Pokemon's eyes. Claudia sat down as if to prove she was't going anywhere.

Gabriel decided to seek out Claudia and see what she was up to. He had gotten all he needed out of the path for right now and figured he may as well check on his traveling companion. He had gained two levels with Ichorous and a single level with Tyson so he counted that as a win.

Whistling merrily, Gabe slipped past some bushes and trees before stopping behind Claudia. He saw that she had caught a very nervous looking Patrat and kept quiet (for once), wanting to see what was going to happen.

Ichorous toddled after his trainer, strutting down the path as if he was the king of it. Tyson, bouncing along and panting in the way that dogs do, pushed Ichorous over and walked over him, winding around Gabe's ankles. Ichorous glared before standing, brushing himself off, and letting out a disgruntled 'hmph.'

Claudia didn't care that she was currently getting dust from the path on her jeans. She was more concerned with the fact that Celandine was now stood next to Laurel. The Snivy attempted to strike up a conversation, asking how long she'd lived on the route for.

"T-trat..." (A while) was the only reply she got, but it was something. Smiling, Claudia got up and moved over to the two Pokemon. She bent down again and Laurel knew that as a sign that she could climb back up onto Claudia's shoulder. Celandine however, stood awkwardly in front of them, shuffling her feet.

"Sni- vy, vy!" (Come on up!) grinned Laurel. The Patrat blinked again, glancing around nervously before she took a few tentative steps towards her trainer. She looked at Claudia as if for a second conformation and the redheaded female nodded.
"Traat" smiled Celandine before swiftly climbing up onto Claudia's right shoulder.

Claudia stood up and turned, noticing Gabriel behind her.
"Oh, hi Gabe," she smiled, half turning her head so that she could see Celendine in the corner of her eye.

"Celandine, this is Gabriel, Ichorous and... someone I have yet to meet!" she grinned.

Gabriel grinned at the cute little Patrat. "Hello there Celandine." He held out a finger as if to shake her much smaller hand. He jerked his other hand towards Tyson. "And this is Tyson. We're just bonding." He sighed with a wistful tone, although he didn't really have anything to be wistful about. Ichorous rolled his eyes and grumbled, crawling back into Gabe's backpack and muttering under his breath.

Tyson barked happily, tiny tail wagging rapidly. "Lilli! (Hiya!)" He trotted up to his trainer and looked at him expectantly. Gabriel rolled his eyes and laughed, carefully swinging the backpack onto his shoulders and scooping Tyson up in his arms. Tyson barked once more and snuggled into Gabe's chest, making a noise as close to a purr as a Lillipup could get.

Gabe looked up from his Pokemon and at Claudia as if asking, 'what next?'

Celandine tried to hide herself within Claudia's red hair as Gabriel extended his finger out to her. She didn't know this person... not yet anyhow. She wasn't about to trust him. The Patrat also blinked down at the Lillipup as he was introduced, though again, she did not say anything.

Laurel on the other hand, cheerfully waved down to Tyson.
"Vy!" (Hi!) grinned the grass type.

Claudia emptied the four remaining Pokeballs she had, back into her bag. They had their own pocket and Claudia thanked whoever had added the feature where they could shrink down to a smaller size. Otherwise she would never fit these and all her future Pokemon's Pokeballs in her bag.

When she was done she turned to Gabriel, "So.. Accumula Town?" she suggested, nodding in the general direction of the next town.

Gabriel nodded after a brief moment. "Sounds good to me." He hadn't really planned this far into his journey. Actually, he hadn't planned it at all. From the morning he'd awoken and decided to begin his journey (enter cabbage), he hadn't had anything set in stone. He picked his Pokemon and pretty much set out as a wayward youth intending to cross the nation. Having a plan was a bit strange after a life full of winging it.

Gabriel nodded once, short and quick, bringing himself out of his thoughts. He checked to be sure that his Oshawott was still in his backpack before taking off down the dusty path to Accumula Town. He took a brief moment to appreciate the scenery, light green grass waving gently in the breeze. He hummed quietly, forming a tune to go along with the serene atmosphere. This was another odd hobby of Gabriel's. He would make up short sweet tunes which sometimes became long anthems to fit his moods or activities in his day. It was one of the only things that kept his mouth from running 24/7.

Tyson slowly dozed off, the soft tune and quiet sounds of the forest lulling him to sleep. Ichorous hummed along with Gabe for some time before he too fell asleep, curled up amongst various pokeballs, clothing articles, and the odd potion.

Claudia walked side by side with Gabriel, her Pokedex in her hand as she went through each setting, looking for things she could possibly improve in her spare time. She planned to tweak with it later that night before she went to bed... perhaps put her own spin on the technology. Nevertheless, it was pretty good, at least in comparison to the older Pokedexes she had seen when she was younger.

Blinking, Claudia realised that she was now walking on pavement and stone rather than the sandy route. Looking up, she stopped. Accumula Town. They had reached it quicker than she had anticipated.
Shoving the Pokedex back into her pocket she looked around for the signature red roof that everyone knew was a Pokemon Center.

"There!" she smiled, pointing to where she could see the roof poking up from between a few other buildings.
Celandine and Laurel followed Claudia's finger and also saw the roof. They both seemed to like the prospect of getting a nice long nap... at least Laurel did. It took a short bit of explanation for Celandine to learn what Pokemon Centers were for.

Gabriel yawned just a few moments before he tripped over the slightly raised pavement road. After landing on his face and muttering 'owch' into the asphalt, Gabe stood up, rubbing at his nose with exaggerated tears. After Claudia had pointed out the PokeCenter, however, he forgot completely about his spill and set off, full steam ahead, for the signature red-orange rooftop.

"NAAAAP TIIIMMEEE" Gabriel roared, racing down the road at breakneck speed. Tyson was yanked from his peaceful slumber and Ichorous was tossed around inside of the backpack, making indignant squealing noises.

That was when Gabriel met the pavement again. He whined, flailing his arms around, as he lay, face flat on the ground. Thankfully, Tyson had escaped Gabe's arms before he had fallen. Unfortunately, he had also set off a chain reaction. A whole train of people had fallen over or dropped their things. In fact, Gabriel was pretty sure he had heard a distant shriek of "MY CABBAGES!" This was reinforced by the numerous green vegetables laying about in the street.

"Hey wait up!" yelled Claudia, telling her two Pokemon to hold on tight before she dashed after her energetic companion. She saw the predicament he was in and the green, round vegetables strewn across the street. However, against her better judgement, she merely grabbed Gabe's arm and ran instead of staying to help tidy up.

It didn't take long them long to reach the Pokemon Center after they escaped from the raging Cabbage Stall keeper. With it's prominent red roof, you could pretty much find your way towards the Center from anywhere at any time or day or night. The current setting of sunset was no exception. Claudia entered, the automatic doors opening for her as she stepped inside.

Blinking as her eyes adjusted to the bright artificial lights, she glanced around. This floor had all the essentials a trainer would need. A shopping area, access to phones and computers and a desk where you could no doubt ask to heal your Pokemon or get a room for the night. Claudia wandered over to the desk and a nurse wandered over.

"Hello!" smiled the nurse warmly.
"Can you heal my Pokemon...?" asked Claudia, half unsure of exactly how these places worked. The nurse seemed to sense this and smiled again.
"Ahh. First time in a PokeCenter? Don't worry, every Pokemon get's the best care we can give until they're all healed up and raring to go!"
Claudia smiled and sifted through her bag for Celandine and Laurel's Pokeballs. The two Pokemon gently hopped off of Claudia's shoulder and onto the desk. First Laurel, then Celandine.

"Don't worry you two. I'll be back soon. The nice nurse is going to take care of you," she grinned before gently rubbing Celendine's furry cheek affectionately.
"Laurel will look after you Celandine."
The Snivy nodded in response, striking a pose that looked like she was putting her hands on her hips.
"I'll see you later then."

With that, Claudia returned the two Pokemon to their Pokeballs and handed them over. Nurse Joy then handed them to an Audino and looked to Gabriel.

Gabriel stepped forward, following Claudia's example. He set down the red and white balls on the counter top, bending over and picking up Tyson in the process. After setting the Lillipup on the counter, he took off his backpack and pulled out a slightly dazed looking Ichorous. With a wave and a quick pat on the head to the two of them, he was heading towards the couch on the other end of the PokeCenter.

After reaching the orange couch, Gabe contemplated calling Professor Juniper or his Mom. He decided against it seeing as he didn't have any pressing information. Besides, it was time to nap! He plopped himself down on the orange cushions and curled into a little ball. He honestly didn't care if they got a room or not. Gabe was the kind of person who could sleep anywhere and would.

Claudia laughed as Gabe went straight over to the couches and attempted to nap. Shaking her head, she turned back to Nurse Joy and asked if they could have a room.

"Oi!" she yelled, cupping her hands around her mouth, "D'you want your own room or are you sleeping there all night?"
Despite how public the area was, Claudia didn't seem to mind attracting attention to themselves. It made sense in a weird way. If she was going to be standing in front of huge crowds during contests, it wouldn't matter if she drew a few eyes towards herself in a Pokemon center.

By the time Claudia had gotten a key for her own room, Gabriel had almost slipped into a soft coma. Thus, when Claudia yelled at him from across the room, he didn't squealed and rolled off and under the couch. He shouted various obscenities and things like "TAKE COVER." or even "IT'S GONNA BLOW." and once "KRAKATOA."

And then he realized that he was getting peculiar stares (not that he cared) and that all was perfectly fine.

He smoothly rolled back out from under the couch and stood up, dusting his clothes off with a 'hmph' and glaring at all those who were still staring.

"I suppose I'll take a room." He sniffed, throwing his head up so that his nose was pointed upwards at an angle that was absolutely ridiculous.

Nurse Joy chuckled before taking another set of keys from the racks and handing it to Claudia.
"The rooms are opposite to each other. Take the stairs and follow the corridor. Turn left and they're the first two rooms you spot."
She smiled as Claudia accepted the keys and the trainer gave her a small, "Thankyou," before turning to walk upstairs. She motioned to Gabriel to follow.

Following Nurse Joy's directions, she soon found the rooms. 132 and 133. As Joy had said, they were opposite each other. Claudia tossed the key for room 133 toward Gabe and then turned to unlock her own door.
"Well, at least it'll be easy to wake you up in the morning to get some training in," she chuckled.
