First topic message reminder :

Milt could feel the next chapter in his life beginning. Never had he ever felt such a strong sense of purpose. This had to be what he was meant to do, his destiny. Only had it all planned out: from here he would traverse the rest of the Black Spear Mountain Range, cross the Cattail Marsh, and arrive in Rainfront Town. From there, it would only take him a few days to reach Grassveil Town, where he could finally form an exploration team. Milt smiled as the wind blew at his back, as if it was urging him forward. "Look out everyone...!" he cried, throwing a foreleg into the air. "Milt the Aron is gonna change the world!" he cried before descending the mountain.

Milt had been around this part of the mountain range, but the further out he went, the more unfamiliar things became. This did not dissuade him however. He enjoyed the unfamiliar; the thought of finding something new excited him. Milt hopped from rock to rock, although thanks to his weight and small legs, he didn't go far, but it was enough. He could see the natural path off in the distance but where was the fun in that? However, excitement could only get you so far, and the constant climbing and jumping made him quite tired.

Lapis: {13}

The Goomy slid across the terrain, blinking occasionally. While Lapis was having a hard time moving constantly, Milt seemed to be able to move with ease. Back at home, as a servant, the dragon type only had to traverse the flat, clean floors of a house, but this mountain was rough and difficult. It was one thing to be able to climb walls, but for some reason, going downhill was exhausting. Probably because a slug's body was not designed for so much movement in that way.

The acquainted Aron enjoyed Lapis' company. She must have been the first civil Pokemon he met since he seemed to have come from this very dungeon. Technically, that could make her his first friend. She needed to help him out of here as it was his first goal in becoming a member of the guild. Now it was her job to fulfill her first promise, which already seemed hard enough since she couldn't lead well. She couldn't quit now, no matter what they had to face.

Energy: 5/20 (+1 new page, +1 LEVEL UP!)

That wasn't quite it, but perhaps the details would be revealed at a later date, when such a subject came up. Milt began to notice that Lapis was slowing down, and so he began to do the same. After some time, Milt pointed down the mountain. "Hey. Look at that," he said. The could now see where the mountain met the green, grass covered ground. It was still some ways down, but at least it was visible. Even so, Lapis was only looking more and more exhausted. "Hey, do you need to take another breather?" he asked her, already looking around for someplace to rest. Milt didn't mind at all. It's wasn't like the ground was running away from them; there was no rush.

Lapis: {13 - 3 = 10}

Lapis began breathing heavily, but she didn't want that to be evident. She toughed out her exhaustion by holding her body high and continuing on. Just ahead was the grassy ground, on which the Goomy could have an excuse to rest on, fortunately.
"Yes," she gasped, responding to his question. "I would like that very much. Why don't we make it down to that grassy area first, where we can take a rest?"
It hadn't once crossed the Goomy's mind that sitting out in the open would leave them vulnerable.

As the soft earth fur brushed under the slug's slimy foot, Lapis flattened herself in the soft, semi-moist grass. It had been a while since she last had water to replenish her skin, and now she was beginning to dry up. A shadow was cast on the ground before her, and soon above her body, causing her to look up and squint in the glare. An avian Pokemon was gliding above the two from the top of the mountain, and now was swooping into them. However, it seemed just as surprised as Lapis. With wide eyes, it tried to pull up, but instead ended up crashing into her.
"Oh dear, I am so sorry..." it stated apologetically, then, as if recalling something, looked back to the mountain quickly.
Lapis, however, tilted her head at the Pokemon. It must not have been feral, but what was it doing? Running from something, or practicing flight, perhaps?

Neither had it occured to Milt. They should have been out of the dungeon when they were off the mountain, right? So they should be safe. He folowed alongside Lapis, only leaving it when she relaxed. To him, it kinda looked like she was melting into the ground. Letting her rest, Milt walked a few steps away, looking around like some sort of watch dog. The wind blew through the holes in his back, making a soft, whistling tune.

A shadow ran across the ground, causing Milt to immediately look up just in time to see the descending Archen. "Lapis look ou-" but he could even finish his sentence before the crash. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?" he asked as he hurried over to the two of them. He came to the same conclusion as Lapis: this pokemon wasn't feral. Milt noticed it's gaze quickly shift to the mountain, and his eyes did the same. So much for being safe.

The Mightyena that was chasing the poor Archen, now had it's sights set on the three of them. It let out a loud growl as it closed the gap between them. Just like before, Milt rushed in front of Lapis, taking a defensive stance. Lapis was in no condition to fight, and to be honest, neither was he, but at least he would have a better chance against this pokemon than she would. "Lapis, get going! I'll hold him off!" he said, immediately taking charge of the situation. His entire body flashed like it was completely made of metal for a moment as he used Harden, preparing himself for the fight to come.

Lapis: {10}

A sweet sort of song played as she rested, a nice calming whistle of a single repeating tone, joined in unison with another. She would have looked around to find the source, being as curious as she was, but it calmed her to the point where she could relax on the grass. She realized as the wind died down, so did the noise, and then understood that it was a whistle of the wind, whether caused by the hole in the mountain, the huge valley, or any other spots that could cause the wind to echo a howl. But her nap with the sweet sound didn't last long.

When Milt asked "Are you alright?", Lapis couldn't decide if he was talking to her or the bird who crashed in. Instead she looked to the Archen and checked to see if it was alright, with her silent responses and wordless reactions. Before she could even do anything, the flying type's predator appeared on the side of the mountain, and leapt down to close in on them. It snarled, growling, even as Milt jumped forward to protect Lapis again. She wanted to say "I can help, too," but she couldn't let down the Aron who was trying so hard to protect her. She didn't want to seem useless, so perhaps for the time being, she could talk to the Archen.
"So... What did happen with that Mightyena and you?" she asked as politely as possible, doing her best to avoid the battle like Milt wanted.

"Hah? Why it attacked me, of course. Scariest thing I've been through. All these animals are so territorial..." the nameless bird explained. "And behind it... A giant monster, with the sharpest teeth I've ever seen, roarin' at it and tellin' it what to do. Attack me... Why?"

At the story, Lapis gaped. It must have been talking about the Tyrannitar. Clearly this event had to have taken place after they were attacked by that very territorial tyrant, but for what? To let out its anger, using another Pokemon because it was too weak after its defeat to do so itself? The Goomy's membrane bristled uncomfortable at the thought that the dinosaur was sitting just above them on the mountain, commanding a powerful dark type to do its dirty work.

The Mightyena opened it's maw, and from inside, Milt could see its fangs glowing an icy blue. In response, he readied his Head Smash, breaking into a run as his body began to glow blue. Milt could feel the extra energy coming from his power band, and his aura only glowed stronger because of it. The two of them would clash, the Mightyena's Ice Fang against his Head Smash. At first, it seemed like Milt was winning the struggle, the Mightyena taking a step back, but all of a sudden, chunks of ice began to cove his body, starting at the head and going all the way down to his tail, snuffing out his blue aura.

Lapis could only watch as the Mightyena growled and, with the whip of its head, tossed Milt across the field. He crashed not too far off from Lapis and the Archen, the ice covering him shattering and falling off. "Ugh..." Milt slowly got up. He would wince in pain, but still, he took a step forward, towards the threat. The Mightyena was still after them, creeping forward with its back low and teeth bared.

Lapis: {10}

Lapis watched with anticipation and horror as the two Pokemon battled it out, watching as they faced off their power with a single move, worried about what the outcome would be. She watched with terror as the Mightyena bit down, and flung Milt away, crashing nearby. The Archen squawked with surprise, and stumbled away as the Mightyena approached them slowly. From up the mountain, she could hear the deep dark laughter of a familiar enemy. The more she was forced into backing up by the wolf Pokemon, eventually she spotted the Tyrannitar, who was looking down at his victory so far; clearly the wolf Dark type, sharing one of the dinosaur's own typing, was part of some sort of gang he might lead.

Now, things weren't looking good, as the Mightyena seemed ready to leap at them and attack, so Lapis prepared a Poison Tail hidden from the attackers vision in the instance where she would have to defend herself. It was a generally powerful move, but she was still afraid of being attacked. But if worse came to worst, she could always use Absorb to heal.

Milt's eyes slowly shifted upwards as he heard the laughter. Of course it was that blasted Tyrannitar. He grit his teeth. That battle was far too easy for them; it had been careless of him to think that that would be the last they saw of the Tyrannitar. Had they been followed all this time? Well it didn't matter now, did it? This situation was bad.

Milt tried to keep fighting, but he felt rooted to the ground; he couldn't move. That attack had drained everything from him. He looked back. "Lapis I-..." Milt paused as he saw her hidden Poison Tail. All he had to do was look her in the eye and she knew that he trusted her. He looked ahead at the Mightyena once again with more determination than ever. This was what it was like to be in an exploration team! When your back was against the wall and danger was staring you right in the face, all you had to rely on was your friends, but that would always be more than enough! "Lapis, take my Power Band. It's useless to me now, and you're going to need it."

With another snarl, the Mightyena charged at them in an attempt to Headbutt the whole group.

Lapis: {10 + 3(absorb)= 13}

The Goomy's hind antennae perked as she heard Milt begin to speak. He sounded exhausted, hurt, harmed. She had no choice but to try and help, as they would be completely defeated otherwise, and it would technically be Lapis' fault for doing nothing. Then the Aron did something crazy.

"Y-your Power Band? But you need that! You're no match without--" but it was too late. The wolf on the opposing side charged in to attack the twosome, plus the Archen, at a speed the slug could never match. Regardless, she propelled herself off the ground to whip around mid-air, slapping the dark hyena's skull with her purple-glowing tail. Right in from the cranium, the toxins seeping right through the skin and turning his sorry face into a sickening shade of illness. The blue winged Pokemon was rushing with a fearful energy now that her heart rate increased uncomfortably. She didn't like that kind of rush at all.

From the already highly-damaged Pokemon, Lapis absorbed whatever energy it had left, causing it to collapse, weakened greatly, as if what happened to it was a warning to all the other attackers not to underestimate the small slimy pokemon. Even the archaic bird seemed extremely surprised at her ability. The Absorb allowed her to restore some energy, too, so now things wouldn't be so hard to carry out. And as for the Power Band... She didn't think Milt knew it had no effect on her, nor did he know her wings were actually fused with a Joy Ribbon. But if it made him feel more value, then she was perfectly fine with holding it for him.

Milt watched in awe at her attack, truly believing that his power band had an effect on her. "Woo hoo! Way to go Lapis!" he cheered as the Mightyena fell over and didn't get up. She was a lot stronger than he expected, and was glad that Lapis was on his side instead of the Tyrannitar's. Speaking of which, what would Tyrannitar's do now? Milt looked up to where the pokemon was standing. It was entirely possible for the Tyrannitar to come down and wipe them out, but then again, they were already off the mountain and outside of its territory.

Lapis: {13}

The slug smiled self-consciously and blushed involuntarily. Despite her sheepish personality, she felt a small boost in confidence as Milt cheered her on. Even the newly-acquainted Archen was rooting for her, squawking "Get 'em! Get 'em!" without really contributing to the battle whatsoever. Now was no time to become distracted, however, because the villains on the battlefield could take advantage of such a situation. Lapis wouldn't allow that. She spared the hyena, who didn't seem to be doing so well and was left fairly defenseless.

The Tyranitar, however, didn't take this lightly whatsoever. It stomped about angrily, creating an Earthquake, only causing the side of the mountain it was sitting on to loosen and crumble, creating an avalanche that it slid down clumsily, hurting itself on the way down. Finally stopping at the foot of the mountain, it was outraged, and glared mercilessly at Lapis. Oh no... I'm really in for it now... she thought hopelessly as the rock-and-dark type's mouth gaped wide, a bright light of a charging Hyper Beam resting in the hood of the gullet, and let it break loose in the direction of her. She was surely doomed...

Milt narrowed his gaze in worry as the Tyrannitar grew angrier. He could feel the earth rumble beneath his feet as the Earthquake, breaking part of the mountain and getting itself caught in its own landslide. That would only make it angrier, and the only pokemon it could take that anger out on were Lapis, Milt, and the Archen. As he saw the glow begin in Tyrannitar's maw, Milt's eyes widened in fear. He tried to move, but there was nothing he could do. He was just dead weight at this point. "Lapis! Get out of there!" he cried.

Lapis: {13}

Lapis snapped out of her mortification, glanced at Milt, and then leaped to the left of the light beam and shot a Bubble attack as a last-minute effort to take down the already-weakened crime boss. Her leap was only large enough to get the Tyranitar into her field of vision so she could aim at it, but the hyper beam was still able to hit her tail, flinging her backwards by it and singing her as she was flung into a tree and slid out of it. It would've been much easier on her if she wasn't attacked by a powerful beam of light, and instead by a physical attack, as most of it would've slid off her, but such power was hard to just walk off, so she sat there, vulnerable.

However, the giant rock-type was also left open for attacks, as it was recharging after such a powerful blow. Lapis was too sore to move, and Milt had no energy left. She looked with begging eyes to the Archen, who returned her look and flapped over. Acting quickly, the bird picked up Lapis and used Rock Throw, with the Goomy clinging to the rock. Several other rocks flew alongside Lapis as she soared straight towards the motionless Tyranitar, who was unable to even move slowly to get out of the way. Charging right in for it, Lapis used Bubble again, leaving another super-effective mark, jumped off the rock last-second, and pun to hit a Poison Tail, all the following rocks covering both Tyranitar and Lapis, effectively trapping them and hiding them from the sight of the others.

Milt could only stand there with a worried expression. Lapis was much faster than he expected, but she was still going up against a Tyrannitar. When the Archen decided to intervene, Milt felt a little better, but still. Lapis was a lot more tactical than he originally thought as well, using Archen's rock throw to quickly close the gap between her and her target. However, when she didn't come out of the rock pile, Milt began to panic. "Lapis...? Lapis!"

Gritting his teeth, the Aron forced himself to move, slowly making his way over to the pile of rocks. He couldn't hear anything coming from inside. Was Tyrannitar defeated? What about Lapis? Did she faint. With what little strength he had, Milt tried moving some of the rocks. "Lapis! Are you alright?!"

Lapis: {13}

The call that went into the rocks seemed to echo back with no response, the rocks shuffling naturally due to the act of gravity in its own time. It seemed like there was nothing in there, not even after the avalanche of flying rocks surrounded the gigantic dinosaur and the tiny slug. It seemed completely hopeless, especially since it was so dark inside, and Milt couldn't fit in through any of the gaps anyway.

But Lapis was determined. She had been slugging towards the light the whole time, and now began to squeeze through one of the crags in the small space that was between a few rocks. She slid out, looking exhausted. If it wasn't for her slime and malleable body, she never would've escaped.
"I'm fine..." she gasped, collapsing her body into a sort of puddle, as if she fell with her chin to the ground if she had one. Even still, with her eyes shut, she managed to tuck in the skirt of her base to make herself look rounder and neater, and less disgusting. Even if she were in great pain, she would go through the effort to make her appearance a little better.
