First topic message reminder :

Milt could feel the next chapter in his life beginning. Never had he ever felt such a strong sense of purpose. This had to be what he was meant to do, his destiny. Only had it all planned out: from here he would traverse the rest of the Black Spear Mountain Range, cross the Cattail Marsh, and arrive in Rainfront Town. From there, it would only take him a few days to reach Grassveil Town, where he could finally form an exploration team. Milt smiled as the wind blew at his back, as if it was urging him forward. "Look out everyone...!" he cried, throwing a foreleg into the air. "Milt the Aron is gonna change the world!" he cried before descending the mountain.

Milt had been around this part of the mountain range, but the further out he went, the more unfamiliar things became. This did not dissuade him however. He enjoyed the unfamiliar; the thought of finding something new excited him. Milt hopped from rock to rock, although thanks to his weight and small legs, he didn't go far, but it was enough. He could see the natural path off in the distance but where was the fun in that? However, excitement could only get you so far, and the constant climbing and jumping made him quite tired.

The Aron did not immediately go to sleep once he closed his eyes. As calming and peaceful as the rain was, he had a lot on his mind. His grand adventure was just beginning after all. The lands outside of this mountain range were mostly foreign to him, but that's what he found exciting. Sure he was a little sad that he was leaving his friends and family behind, but he wasn't leaving them forever, and he would be making new friends throughout his journey.

Milt forced himself to stop thinking and focused and the rain and the rumbles of thunder. The sound began to feel like a blanket, surrounding him with its presence. Soon enough, his breathing slowed, and Lapis could hear a faint snore coming from inside the cave.

Lapis: {12 - 5 (Pokemon) = 7 + 1 (page) = 8}

The Goomy turned her head slightly and smiled, hearing the peaceful snores of the steel type. If she were one to think of the types as a whole, she never would've thought that they required sleep. The loudest crash of thunder yet and a lightning bolt striking simultaneously overhead, Lapis jumped from being startled. At the next beam of light and thunder, her eyes darted to the left where the Lightning seemed to be that time, and a Pokémon was there, silhouetted as the cloudy sky flashed.

Lapis leapt away back into the cave as fast as possible, scared of what she just saw, and got back to Milt as fast as possible. She wanted to say something, but at the same time she didn't. Nothing was needed to be said, however, as the giant Rock-type dinosaur burst into the cave, roaring. It must have been his cave, and they were in it. From what Lapis knew about type advantages, it was weak to both water and steel, so she was hoping Milt knew some moves of the type, or even at least a ground type move. Either way, they had to act quickly.

Milt didn't stir during the loud booms of thunder, but no one could sleep through the roar of a Tyranitar. His eyes slowly opened, widening as he saw the massive pokemon looming at the cave entrance. Milt didn't have much time to be scared, for another sense began to take him over.

He immediately ran in front of Lapis, taking a stance as he faced the Tyranitar. He had one ground-type move, but it wasn't all that strong; it's main purpose was just to lower the accuracy of the pokemon hit. That being said, the pokemon he was facing was more than capable of learning a ground-type move, which would mean big trouble for him.

Lapis: {8}

The roaring of the Tyrannitar was fierce and scary, yes, but it wasn't enough to send Lapis away from where she stood. Although, from the looks of her, it looked more like she was a deer caught in headlights.

Milt bounded forth with bravery before the trembling Goomy and struck the ground, sending mud into the eyes of the massive stone-hard reptile. It's eyes squinted shut as the wet dirt made contact, impairing his vision temporarily, but long enough for Lapis to think. The slug-like Pokemon went into her bag and took out the only other object that was inside besides the berry from earlier. A Joy Ribbon. She had recieved it from a Ghost type in town who claimed to have no use for it, and now it was hers. Using the folds in her foot as hands, and her antennae's assistance, she tied the ribbon around her forehead and faced the Tyrannitar, who stomped about blindly.

The newly-equipped blue Pokémon used a move that she knew would be super effective, shooting bubbles from her mouth at the dinosaur that was almost entirely unable to see, and therefore unable to Attack or dodge with ease. It was strange to see such a large strong creature topple from mere delicate bubbles.

The Tyranitar shook the ground as it fell, and he could feel the vibrations through his tiny metal paws. True to the name of his soon-to-be exploration team, Milt intended to protect Lapis from any and all attacks, but with an opening like this, the Aron couldn't afford to waste it. Milt's forehead began to glow blue as he charged forward. As he picked up speed, his entire body became enveloped in a bold blue aura with white streaks. He lunged forward and landed a strong Head Smash right into the Tyranitar's side. Even if this move wasn't super effective, it had much more power than Mud Slap.

Lapis: {8}

As the Armor Pokémon fell with a crash, Lapis sat in place, staring at the fallen beast. Before she knew it, Milt ran into her field of vision and threatened the rock type away with a physical attack. It growled lowly and crawled out of the cave, and then it was over. The Goomy blinked for the first time since it fell from her Bubble attack. She hadn't any idea what she was capable of until then. To think that two weak, basic Pokémon could take down one that was fully evolved. Especially a species that was known for destroying whole mountains and wrecking biomes simply to make a nest.

Her foot squirmed in the movement to pivot like a slug would, looking to the Aron with a mix of surprise and confidence, a look that would be hard to define as one with any emotion, the only thing giving away her surprise was her eyes which were wider than usual. She was glad she had the iron Pokémon with her during this time, who acted as a guard.

Milt was glad for his ability. Thanks to Rock Head, he wasn't hit with any recoil from the attack, which would have hurt him pretty badly. He watched the Tyrannitar leave, and didn't move until he was sure it has left. He too felt surprised when it didn't come back. The only difference between him and her was that Milt was more vocal about it. "Did... Did we just...?" Milt finally turned around to face her, a smile growing across his face. They might not have knocked it out, but they still won. "Woo hoo! We did it!" he cried, hopping into the air a bit. The Tyrannitar didn't even have a chance to fight back!

Lapis: {8}

The Goomy stared, relieved that the situation was finally over. The tension in her body released once the rock-dark type disappeared down the mountain, and she turned her body to look at Milt. He seemed just as awestruck as she was, only he was even able to say something at all. He finally smiled joyfully, passing it on to Lapis, who's lips curled upwards at his happiness. His cry of happiness proved evident, and the Goomy watched him hop around, giggling briefly as he did.

Outside, the gentle beating of the rain began to die down, but it still rained a bit and the clouds remained. The thunder was minimal, but when it could be heard, it was faint and distant. Perhaps Milt would finally feel the need to leave the cave, but it also gave access of other Pokemon without any weather holding them back. Whatever the Aron chose to do, she hoped he would make a decision quick, but the dragon type didn't want to rush him, either. She simply said nothing.

"Hm?" Milt turned around towards the sound (or lack thereof) and was surprised to see that the rain had let up. Light was finally able to peek through the clouds, and the rainfall was nothing more than a drizzle. Now there was no way that the Aron would have willingly gone out in the pouring rain, but he'd be fine as long as it didn't pick up again.

Milt walked out of the cave and turned to face Lapis. He didn't know if she had anything else to do, but he would have enjoyed her company. "I'm gonna head down the mountain now. You want to come with me?" he asked.

Lapis: {8}

Now that the rain had finally stopped, and ceased to fall any further due to lack of moisture in the sky now that it was all on the ground, it appeared that Milt was raring to go. He walked to the entrance of the cave, shortly looked out, and then turned to look to her, requesting her acquaintance on the trip. Really, she was fine either way, but it was her benefit to have someone who could protect her.
"Of course."

There really was nothing more to be said. She could've apologized again for letting his idea down, but the team name really did fit. His act of kindness and valor was exactly as the name described him. The Goomy did sincerely hope that the Aron would find good, also-fitting Pokémon to have join his team.

Milt smiled at her before leading the way, making sure to walk slow enough for Lapis to keep up with. The mountain looked very nice after the rain, covered in puddles where the land leveled out somewhat. Shallow streams of water ran downhill as gravity pulled them down the mountainside. "So anyway, Lapis..." he began, walking though a puddle and watching the ripples. "What were you even doing up here on the mountain? I don't think you ever told me."

Lapis: {8 + 5 = 13}

The Goomy trailed after Milt, going at a steady pace that wouldn't exhaust her but wasn't being dramatically slow to others, either. He asked a question, which Lapis could have sworn she asnwered before.
"Hm? I do believe I explained I was attempting to escape town for a while, but perhaps that was in my head." The dragon type didn't really have short term memory, but after all the following events, it was fairly easy to forget. But the truth was that she had said exactly that, so maybe it was Milt who forgot? "Hmm, perhaps you had just forgotten."

She did indeed answer that before, and Milt probably looked a little stupid right now, but he actually remembered it too. He was just looking for a more detailed answer. "I know, but what are you escaping from exactly... if you don't mind me asking? Most pokemon wouldn't climb a mountain--let alone enter a mystery dungeon--if they wanted to clear their head or get away from something." By now, Milt had slowed down so they were walking side by side, looking over at her with big blue eyes.

Lapis: {13}

Lapis slowed down unintentionally and tilted her head. She started to understand what he meant and felt foolish herself.
"Oh, you know, the bustle of town, just wanting to get out of society for a while. Just wanting to have a break from it all."
Her old town she once lived in was so small, and she knew everyone that lived in it. But around here, everyone was a stranger, and all species were unknown to her. It was harder in the life of a busy town, and couldn't understand how others could've grown that way. She supposed it just grew on them, because to them, that was their life. Even so, it wasn't for her.
"I honestly didn't know where I was going and ended up on the mountain. On the bright side, I at least know my way back."

Milt barely knew anything about town life, growing up in a mystery dungeon and all that. He had hear about it on a few occasions, but he still never got to experience it himself. To be honest, Milt was excited for it. He loved the thought of so many pokemon being in one place. There weren't that many pokemon to come and know where he lived.

"Heh, and you also got to meet me! And I got to meet you!" he added cheerfully. Lapis was the first pokemon Milt met on his journey, so that made her somewhat special in his eyes.
