| While it definitely wasn’t the first time anything of the sorts had happened to him, Ripley was still just as confused to find himself waking up in an alleyway. The redhead stirred from his slumber and moved his hands up to his face, rubbing his eyes. A slight groan escaped the emissary as he pushed himself into an upright sitting position, leaning against the wall of one of the surrounding buildings and glancing around.
“Well. This isn’t where I fell asleep.” He simply mumbled, careful not to glance around too rapidly lest he give himself a headache. As a matter of fact, the more he thought about it, he hadn’t even fallen asleep at all. At least, not that he could remember. The last thing he was able to clearly think of was his and Aries’ visit with the local Warden, searching for clues on the murder of the Youngest Gruff, a higher up member of the Summer Court. Their search hadn’t turned anything up however, and even with being able to remember that, this was definitely a different alleyway than the one the Warden used. Something had to have happened in-between then, and whatever time it was now.
Ripley stood up and cautiously stepped out to the mouth of the alleyway, taking a look around the city. He hadn’t completely noticed it before, but now, he was definitely recognizing a key feature of his surroundings. The city was near empty, with no cars moving down the streets, no people on the sidewalks, no stands or shops on the side. There were plenty of buildings, some tall and others small, but no people heading in or out. They didn’t even seem occupied. The sky itself was gray with clouds, giving the place below it a gray hue about it. There was even the slightest hint of fog rolling through.
Without saying a word, the emissary stepped out onto the sidewalk and looked back and forth, trying to decide on a way to go. After a few seconds, some closed eyes and spinning around in a circle while holding his hand out, he promptly decided to go left. The more he walked, the more empty the area felt. It just didn’t seem natural, or right to him. Really it was starting to freak him out.
Several blocks later, Ripley stopped, stepping into a new area. This one seemed like a large plaza in the city, a big, open area with a four-way intersection going through the middle. Off the side of the road, in the open area between the street and the buildings, there were some tables and benches, along with a few small fountains here and there. It seemed like a good area to relax, well, it probably would be if anyone were there to take advantage of it. Anybody besides him, at least.
Taking a few steps off of the sidewalk, he stepped up to one of the various benches and sat down, glancing around as he let the whole situation sink in. The place definitely didn’t look like Boston, so he assumed that he had ended up somewhere else. Where he had ended up was beyond him. “This sucks…” He commented, with the silence of the rest of the city, he could probably be heard a fair distance away. Maybe if he waited, somebody else would come. And if nobody came, at least he could get some rest. Something told him he would need it.
(Just in case anybody is looking for any information, your characters can wake up anywhere really. The middle of the street, a rooftop, an alleyway, any place works.)

| It felt like someone was stabbing at her eyes with white-hot knives. Ella turned her head away from the source of the pain, hands coming up from where they lay sprawled at her side to dig the heels of her palms into her shut eyes. "Holy shiiiiiit... Is it the night after the Christmas Truce?" she muttered to herself, sitting up slowly. It certainly felt like she was majorly hung-over -alcohol hit halfas harder than it hit humans or ghosts. There was some scientific mumbo-jumbo that she was sure Vladimir could spout to her right now, but her head hurt too much for her to care at the moment.
Ella sighed heavily as the pain didn't subside after a moment. She then focused inwards, towards the warm, pulsating energy that seemed centered near her heart. She let the energy wash over her body, but didn't allow the transformation into her other half. Bluish-green rings of energy traveled across her body, starting from her midsection. She allowed the rings to travel over her body several times before releasing the energy once more.
Then she tentatively opened her eyes, the pain having subsided somewhat, though a dull throb still struck at the back of her head. She looked around, still sitting on what she realized now was a dirty alley. Her nose scrunched up as the smell hit her nostrils, and she rose to her feet. She walked out of the alley and looked around. She couldn't remember how she had gotten here, but it sure felt like someone had gotten her drunk before dragging her here.
Come to think, she wasn't even sure where "here" was. She reached for the energy in her core, and transformed into her ghost half, her eyes and hair color transforming into a dark, earthy brown, and her skin changing into a softer, darker green color than most ghosts possessed. She flew upwards, scanning the city from above. It was certainly not Amity Park, as the city was far too large for that, and the buildings were older.
But the strangest thing about this city was that it was completely empty and void of any life at all, ghostly or humanoid. Not a soul stirred in the city, and this unnerved Ella, having never before seen a place so devoid of life or after-life. Even so-called "ghost towns" were always filled to the brim with the souls of the departed.
Ella flew towards a large open area that she could just see through the buildings. It ended up being a large plaza with a four-way intersection marking the area like a huge "X-marks-the-spot." She then noticed a figure sitting at a bench below her. She immediately switched to being invisible, not wanting the person to see her and start crying out in fear, as humans were wont to do when they saw her for the first time.
She lowered herself from the sky gently, crouching on the opposite bench from the male, still invisible. She decided to wait and see what the man was doing in such an empty town before revealing herself. Perhaps this man was who had brought her here. The thought sent a scowl across her face, but she didn't want to tip her hand just yet -if being Vladimir's friend had taught her anything, it was patience, and not just a little bit of cunning.

| Blade flickered open her eyes to a dark, grey, gloomy sky. 'What the heck? This isn't Central City....' She thought, getting up slowly. Shaking her head, the wolf teen fully stood up and looked around. It seemed the city was completely empty, and it looked.... gloomy, as if deserted for the longest time. Checking her surroundings again, she noticed she had woken up on a rooftop of a building. "That's strange. I could've sworn I was back at home, sleeping in my bed, not on some dreary city's rooftops." She said aloud. Blade felt extremely confused. Why was this place so deserted and empty, and why wasn't she back in bed, like she should be? Finally, she decided she should move somewhere safer, where she obviously wouldn't get the worst of a storm if one were to occur. Checking the height of the rooftop, she guessed it would be safest if she found a lower one, and another, and so on, so her ankles didn't shatter. Finding the nearest one, it looked at least 5 feet below. 'Safe enough.' She shrugged, and jumped.
She continued the jump from roof to roof thing for a while, and eventually landed in front of a park. Seeing a figure on a bench, she became cautious. Making sure she was out of eyesight, Blade shifted into a shadowy black cat to blend with the shadows, and climbed up a tree, shifting to her normal self. The teen wolf rarely used her shifting abilities at all, but when necessary, she did use them to blend in, look different, etc.

| A small noise could be heard from one of the many buildings that was littered around the area. On top of one of the taller ones was a white haired teen laying in his stomach. His white tail slowly moved in his sleep and a sheath was around his waist. His face was up against the rooftop for a while until something stirred him in his sleep. The half demon slowly placed his hands on the roof and pushed himself up. He got to one knee and waited in that position for some time until pushing himself to a standing position where he then looked around.
"This isn't where I was before" he said in a calm tone before checking to see if his blade was there. He pulled the sword out of the sheath and held it in front of him for a moment. It was a dull blue and the symbols on the blade were a misty white like the blade had a mist inside it. "What happened to En-Blade?" He asked himself as he felt no power from the blade.
He swung the blade around and returned it to the sheath before looking around once again. He walked to the edge of the building and crossed his arms before letting out a small sigh at the sight before him. "This isn't my hometown." He said to himself as he looked closer at one of the buildings. "Come to think of it, I've never seen something designed like that." He said to himself as he smiled. "Well, at least I'm alive."
He looked below and thought he saw someone walking along the street. Thomas looked for a way down before noticing how high he was. "That's unsettling." He said to himself as he looked for a way down. He then took note of a building that was closer to the ground. "Well here goes nothing" he said as he ran towards the building about to leap before he stopped. He looked to the corner and saw something that looked like a safer way down. "Better then jumping" he said to himself as he walked over to the other side of the building.
He slowly went down the large ladder until he was safely on the ground. "Good now to find out where I am" he once again said to himself as he closed his eye's and randomly picked a direction. It was left the same way the figure he saw walking went.

| She woke with fear. She had rolled in her sleep, and found herself suddenly falling. She had figured that she must have been falling from her bed, but had opened her eyes to see quite a distance below her. She cried out as she gripped onto the first thing she could, which was a flagpole with no flag that stuck out horizontally from the building. She clung to it, yelling out again in fear as her legs kicked a the air below her. Before she could settle down and look around at the slightest, her grip slipped from the pole and she plummeted towards what she thought was her death.
She instead landed in a garbage can. She was stunned from the fall, but it was nowhere near big enough of a drop to kill her much less break something, "Oww..." she rubbed the back of her head.
'Callix? Where are we? What happened?' she asked her big brother, or at least who she considered to be her big brother. Her response was only silence, 'He must have been knocked out too...guess i'm on my own for now...' she swallowed before climbing out of the trashcan, the lids giving off a loud clap as they shut. She flinched at the noise, but dismissed it after glancing back at the trash can.
She had been in an ally way of a seemingly empty city, she wandered about uneasily, before reaching into a bag she had been carrying and pulling out a strange book and clutching it in a right hug, feeling a bit safer with the grimmoire in her arms. She shuffled along, begging for Callix to wake up and help figure things out, it was so lonely here. She eventually came near a large plaza, spotting a man on a bench. She was a bit hesitant to approach, but since Callix was not awake for her to talk to him, the feeling of being alone compelled her to approach.
"H-Hi..." She stammered, clutching the book tightly to her chest, "Where i-is everyone?"

| His eyes flickered open and he groaned. Well, he groaned as well as a cat could. His head throbbed in pain and he screwed his eyes shut, covering his face with his paws. He felt as if he had just been hit by a car. Something was wrong. Very wrong. This almost felt like a hangover. He hadn't had a hangover in roughly 50 years. And that was in Japan with Sake. He knew he had gone to sleep in Iowa.
This wasn't right.
Fjor opened his eyes and rolled onto his feet. He felt dizzy and disoriented. Looking around, he saw emptiness. Loneliness. Streets that were deserted. Buildings that were empty. The roads that should have been a crowded street were devoid of cars.
The little black cat shook his head. He couldn't think straight. Not with all this pounding in his skull. One of the unfortunate consequences of being imprisoned in feline form was that, while he did not age, he could feel pain. Right now, that pain was preventing him from seeing the situation clearly.
"What happened?" he mumbled to himself. Last he remembered, he had fallen asleep inside a coffee shop. The window had been left unlocked so he had slipped in. It was warm and there were croissants. The French sure did know how to make bread. And the Germans. The Italians weren't bad at it either.
He was getting distracted. He had to think. Something was buzzing in the back of his mind.
Whatever the case may be, he had to get moving.
He walked in down the street for a while. He couldn't tell how long. Time seemed warped in this place. As he walked his head cleared a little and the pain subsided. He began to sense something. Life.
Still, these minds felt strange. Not like any humans he had sensed before. They certainly weren't Gods. They felt... Alien.
How odd... How odd indeed...
He walked a while and some of the sensations became stronger. He could make out five currently. He followed the feeling of their minds, getting closer. As he turned a corner, he spied a red haired man sitting on a park bench and a girl. A very cute girl. Blonde. He had always liked blondes.
The others were close... Very close. He still couldn't tell where. The fuzziness hadn't worn off yet. The man and the blonde were a start though. Here's hoping they liked cats.
Fjor padded over slowly and rubbed against the leg of the girl, purring. After a moment, he sat on the ground and looked at the both of them with his shining gold eyes. Tilting his head to the side, he meowed, putting on a cute kitty routine he had been perfecting for millenia.

| A pair of deep green eyes blinked open, blearily adjusting to their surroundings as their owner woke from her slumber. As her mind moved from it's sleep state to being awake, Blythe became painfully aware of something digging into her back. Pushing herself to her feet, she realised that she had woken on someone's balcony, and part of the metal fencing that prevented an individual from falling off was the uncomfortable feeling that had woken her.
Thinking back, she couldn't remember falling asleep. The last thing she remembered was being in one of the ELES offices and testing her Shadow Pitfall on the unlucky objects occupying Wesley Wolfe's desk, but nothing in that memory gave her even the faintest reason for waking up on someone else's balcony.
Dangling her arms over the edge of the balcony and resting her head on a flat part of the top of the metal fencing, Blythe's green gaze scanned the city below. She didn't recognise the place, and there didn't seem to be any property damage nearby so she was pretty sure that she wasn't here to apprehend another mage or combat a magical creature. It didn't make any sense.
Maybe Wolfe was somewhere around here. He'd be able to explain what was going on.
Looking up, Blythe noticed that the building she was on currently was actually a few floors taller. She released her arms from the balcony and stepped back, her body fading into an empty black before receding into her shadow on the ground. The deep black shadow then danced up the concrete on the side of the building, not travelling in a straight line and instead making jagged movements on it's journey to the rooftop.
Upon making it's way over the side and onto the roof, the shadow halted and Blythe deftly hopped out from it, her body returning to normal from it's intangible state. Stretching her arms, Blythe wandered to the edge of the rooftop and paused for a second before cupping her hands on either side of her mouth.
"Wolfeh!?" she called out, her voice echoing across the empty city as if hoping that her friend would hear it and just appear beside her. Of course, it was no use, and as Blythe took the time to look at something other than the buildings, she realised that the place genuinely seemed to have no one in it. There wasn't anyone on the paths going about their daily routines, and no vehicles travelling along the empty roads.
Sitting down on the edge of the roof and dangling her legs over the edge, Blythe wondered what on earth she was supposed to do. Even if she wanted to try and get back to Altus, there was no one to ask to find out where she was in order to do so. With a sigh, Blythe lay back on the ground of the rooftop, staring up at the sky and swinging her legs over the side.
It was at that moment that Blythe's ears detected something. It was just a faint sound, but it almost sounded like distant footsteps of some kind, though the time between them seemed to change between each step for some reason. Sitting up quite suddenly, Blythe spotted something hopping across the lower rooftops of the city. Whatever it was, it didn't really look... human. But it was the first living thing that Blythe had spotted so far and she wasn't about to ruin her first chance at finding a way home.
Hopping to her feet, Blythe quickly summoned a tangible shadow connecting from the roof she was on to the next one and hopped onto it, confident enough in her power to just slide down to the lower roof. Anyone watching might think she was crazy to attempt such a thing, but Blythe found it incredibly fun to feel the wind on her face as she travelled at quite a speed down the dangerous path she had created. Wherever she was, at least she still had her magic.
She followed the intriguing creature for only three rooftops or so before it disappeared again, presumably jumping downward and finally reaching the ground. It's jumping power was pretty incredible to be able to hop from roof to roof like it had done, she had to admit.
Reaching the final roof that the odd individual had leaped from, Blythe jogged over to the edge and crouched down, peering over it. They seemed to have reached a plaza of some sort, but Blythe's attention was fully upon the odd creature as she watched it turn into some sort of cat and skulk away into the shadows of a tree before returning to it's normal form.
A shape shifter? she thought, acknowledging how cool that was but wondering what sort of mythical creature would have shape shifting powers. When the awe at the ability passed, Blythe's smile broadened as she had an idea.
Blythe vaguely noticed the other two people in the plaza, but figured they could wait just a short while. This was an opportunity she couldn't pass up, after all. The odd individual was clearly trying to hide and didn't want anyone noticing it, but it didn't seem to realise that Blythe had already spotted it.
Her form fading back to an intangible one and then slipping back into a mere shadow on the ground, Blythe made considerable effort to travel along the same shadows that the shape shifter had moved along, almost completely hiding herself in the inky depths of the true shadows as she moved in her 'artificial' one. Moving up the tree trunk and into it's branches, Blythe remained in her shadow form, behind the shape shifter. As she contemplated what to say she found herself noticing that whatever it was, it had wolf ears.
With a cheerful laugh, Blythe grinned and hopped out of her shadow form to sit on a branch slightly higher than the one that Blade was on. "Haha! Your ears are like Wolfeh's!" she chuckled.

| WIP Pit Feilds, a common stage for battles between Hunters and Aura Guardians. It was just outside of the Survival Area Pit, and was often home to many all-or-nothing battles in which the Hunters would fight for their lives, or die trying.
This had been one of those battles.
The field lay in ruins again. Suddenly, a ring of light flashed in the sky, expanding outwards, then vanished. As it disappeared, a light grey ash began to fall down from where the light had appeared over the street. The ash began to clump and form a mass, which then became a Caucasian's arm with a hand attached. The arm had gashes and wounds that were seeping small amounts of fresh blood from them. There were other, drier blood stains up the sides that didn't appear to be from her own wounds or from her at all for that matter; at the angle the smears were at they couldn't have been. Nearby, pools of blood began to form out of seemingly nowhere. Ash was falling nearby, and as they did they formed a leg with a pretty nasty burn mark up the calf and thigh. Then the ashes formed another leg, this one covered in pants, with a big gash that was forming the biggest pool of blood. As the ashes continued to pool and form the female figure it became apparent that the right leg of the jeans had been torn off some time ago. The ashes continued to mass and form the rest of the female's body, her head, her blood-smeared face (with small trails of blood coming from her nose and the corners of her mouth), and her assload of overly-long hair tied into a ponytail. Her chest rose and fell slowly; drawing deep, pained breaths. Nearby, more ashes fell, and a golden-colored fox-looking creatures formed from them. He didn't look inherently injured, but he did look completely exhausted. Robyn gave a heavy sigh, then opened her eyes a crack. The light was bright and it burned, so she squeezed them shut again quickly. She had no clue what happened, where she was, how she had gotten here... The ground was hard yet moist, so it was clear that she was bleeding onto some form of concrete. She felt a breeze where armor should have been. "nnnng.... Jack...? Nic....? ....Kin........?" she wheezed. * fwoshwoshwosh...* The sound of something metal falling through the sky called back to her. "ehhh......?" * SHANK* Robyn's eyes flew wide open upon hearing metal embed itself into concrete right. next. to. her. ear. Her own staff had nearly impaled her through her skull. "What the- What's going on here? Where am I?!? What happened to my armor?!? Kin?!?!" She flailed her injured limbs around as she tried to get up in ways she really shouldn't have, ways that looked extremely painful. That were extremely painful. Robyn cringed as the adrenaline wore off and her body was hit with the full force of the aftermath of the battle that she had just been torn away from. "Hello? Jack.... Nic...? Zo? Anybody? Kin?" she called, still cringing. "What's going on here? Where am I?!? I SHOULDN'T BE HERE!!!"

| There was a short span of time where nobody showed up, further making Ripley wonder if he really was the only one in the area. It was a bit of a worrying thought to him. Being in a strange place with no idea of how you got there was one thing, but being there alone was another. Maybe some other people would be happy that they were alone, and didn't have anyone else there, but he wasn't-
"Where i-is everyone?"
The man jumped slightly, looking over at the new girl as she spoke to him. He had been starting to get lost in his thoughts, and hadn't even heard her approach. He squinted a bit at the girl and silently mouthed the word "what", shrugging his shoulders. "How should I know? I just woke up here myself, it's not like I know anything." The emissary snapped back at her, leaning back on the bench and crossing one leg over the other. After a second, he began to feel a bit guilty about it. She seemed fairly worried from what he could see, and she probably didn't know much more about the situation than he did.
"I'm guessing you don't know anything either, do y-" He started to add a bit more calmly, before hearing a mewling sound. Letting his gaze drift a bit closer to the ground, Ripley's eyes settled on a fairly normal looking black cat. The sudden appearance of a black cat seemed to speak wonders of his luck at the moment, and he found himself hoping it wasn't a sign of how things would go for him in the future.
"Is that your cat?" Ripley looked back up at Nyx, wondering if random people and animals were just starting to pop into the area, or if they had some sort of connection. As he asked, it seemed like all sorts of new faces were cropping up. In a tree nearby, a young looking girl had spoken up, which caught his attention. On the branch beneath her, there was...something. He had seen a lot, but he hadn't seen anything quite like the anthropomorphic wolf that was waiting there. While he was turned around in his seat looking at the two of them in the tree, he hadn't even noticed the girl drop out of the air on the street, her staff coming down to the ground beside her. As this went on, the clouds seemed to be starting to move on, the area getting a bit lighter.

| Blade nearly jumped a mile. "Gyaaah! Don't scare me like that!" She said, turning towards Blythe. Who the heck was this girl? How did she find her? Sighing, the teen wolf's tail drooped in exasperation. At least there were other beings, but where were her friends? "Ugh... how did I end up here, anyway?" She muttered to herself.
Deciding she should respond again, Blade shrugged randomly. "Who is this "'Wolfeh' of yours? Is he also what my friend Gravity calls, a 'canis lupus?'" She finished. Honestly, Blade had no clue who this girl was, and if she was friendly, decided to find out. In the mean time, she had to interact with the other.... beings. "Whatever, never mind. Just follow me if you're absolutely interested." The teen wolf said, climbing nimbly down the tree. She walked over casually and greeted the two humans and one cat that were on the bench. "Hello. I come in peace, if that phrase is absolutely necessary." Blade said nervously. She wasn't used to approaching overlanders like this everyday.

| "How should I know? I just woke up here myself, it's not like I know anything." The strange red haired man snapped at her, she tightened her grip on the book and flinched. The man suddenly seemed a lot more intimidating than he had originally been. She swallowed, listening as the man seemed to be saying something, but was interrupted by the mewling of a familiar animal. Nyx blinked and looked down to her legs, spotting a black feline.
"Ee~ Kitty!" she brightened up almost immediately, dropping the book to the ground and picking up the black cat that had meowed to her and rubbed against her legs. She held the feline and began to pet it, feeling a bit comforted by having such a fluffy friendly feline friend since the other man obviously not in a bright mood. She had been so excited about the cat, she failed to notice the others by the tree.
"No, i've never seen this little guy before," she responded.
'Huh? What happened?' a voice echoed in her head.
"Callix!" she cried aloud, still holding onto the cat, she covered her mouth, "Uh, ignore that please..."
'What's going on?' Callix asked, feeling as if he were in a fog. His consciousness felt weary, and he looked through Nyx's eyes to see that she was holding a cat in front of a man,'who's that? Why are you holding a cat?'
'I don't know, I woke up in this strange place and this guy and this cat are pretty much the only things i've found...' Nyx responded silently.
Callix was silent, Nyx being able to tell that he was thinking. To the outside world, it seemed as if she was staring vacantly downwards at the floor while petting the cat.
'I'll stay back here for now,' Callix finally spoke, 'Best not to freak this guy out with the whole suddenly turning into me thing, but if things get sour i'll hop in. Say what I tell you to say when I tell you to say it alright?'
'Yes,' Nyx agreed, letting big brother take care of them.
Nyx snapped to attention, as she heard something talk. She turned and spotted a weird wolf-human-hybrid thing. She cried out, and hugged the cat, fearing the strange creature.
'Calm down,' she heard Callix hiss, 'It's not attacking..'

| Blythe burst out laughing at Blade's reaction and nearly toppled off of the tree branch she was perched on, but quickly regained her balance. Swinging around the trunk of the tree and landing on a lower branch, she answered the wolf eared person's query about Wolfeh. "He's my friend," she confirmed absent-mindedly, not understanding what a canis lupus was but becoming too distracted by other events to find out more.
As she had been speaking, someone new seemed to have fallen into the streets nearby and it had grabbed her attention. She had hopped down from the tree and jogged off towards the fallen person before she had even heard Blade's words about following her over to the other people who had arrived in the plaza. Not that she would have followed Blade either way - she didn't know this new wolf eared person after all and wasn't one to take orders from someone she didn't know.
"Are you okay?" asked Blythe after reaching the one who had fallen from the sky. Unlike everyone else she had spotted so far in this empty city, this person appeared to be rather injured as was obvious from the copious amounts of blood. It was a silly question, really, now that she could see the person clearly, but Blythe wasn't sure what else to ask. Realising she was still bleeding, Blythe attempt to amend her question to something slightly more suitable. "I mean... is there anything I can do to help?" Blythe asked, not really knowing how to help someone who was hurt and bleeding. Unlike older mages of the ELES, she hadn't even been given basic first aid training yet to know what to do in such a situation.

| Thomas had walked towards the area where everyone seemed to be going. He stopped once he reached that area though and looked closely at the people, well some people. That had come to the area. It seemed to be nothing to bad. He then heard a loud crashing sound and looked over just in time to see someone crash into the ground from the sky. "That seems way to familiar" he said remembering when he did that himself.
He ran over to the person just as someone else had. Apparently they both had the same idea on trying to help the one who fell from the sky. His tail brushed the ground as he bent over the newcomer. He did look at the other person who tried to help them. It was a bit obvious they weren't that ok.
Thomas reached for his side expecting his backpack to be there, when all his touched was air he grew worried. "Hey you, do you have anything we can use to wrap around the wound." He asked as he looked back to the person who was injured. He then held his hands next to one of the wound and started to apply pressure to the open cut. This should allow the blood to clot and stop the bleeding though it may hurt a bit it was better to do it now. He hoped that someone had something to cover it. The blood was making his demonic side itch so much his wolf ears and tail were twitching.

| Ella watched warily as a girl approached the man and asked if she knew where they were, and the man snapped back at her. So she wasn't the only one waking up and confused as to how she had gotten here. She wondered if it was a test of some sort from the Observants. The one-eyed ghosts were always sticking their non-existent noses into one thing or another in the timeline, according to Clockwork anyway, so she wouldn't be too surprised if this was one of their tricks.
A smile wormed its way onto her face as she noticed the black cat mewling for attention. She had always been a sucker for cute animals... honestly, she didn't understand why Vladimir didn't want one of the cutesy animals, though it probably had to do with that Daniel of his teasing him about being a lonely old man needing a cat. Ella couldn't help but shrug to herself. She didn't see what was so bad about being 'old,' seeing as how as halfas, they were practically immortal. But Vladimir was funny that way, always up in arms about one thing or another that the Daniel kid had said or done.
Ella blinked in surprise as a strange figure emerged from the trees. It seemed to be a cross between a wolf and a girl, but noticeably missing any ghostly glow or levitation, and Ella's ghost sense did not go off. It was very strange; perhaps it was hiding its ectoplasmic signature? It greeted the humans as if it was wary of being misjudged, so perhaps it was a ghost indeed, though it certainly wasn't like a ghost Ella had ever seen before. There was that wolf-man-ghost whose name was Wolf, but he certainly looked nothing like this strange creature.
Ella dithered for a moment, unsure of whether to reveal herself just yet. As she awaited a response from the humans, she decided she'd wait to see how they would react to the wolf... thing, before she revealed herself as a ghost. If they acted in aggression she would know to stay silent and invisible. If they didn't, she'd have a better grasp on the situation, hopefully.
She eyed the black cat again curiously, wondering if it could talk too, like this wolf creature. Something seemed off about the cat, but she wasn't sure what it was. She felt like... she should recognize the cat or something about it, but every time she tried to reach for the answer it fell away, like she was chasing cobwebs. She sighed, and then froze, hoping that no one had caught the small sound, or if they had, would think it the wind or one of the people here.

| Suddenly, the black cat was swept off his feet and in the arms of the girl, pressed against her chest. He closed his eyes and began to purr, his tail waving back and forth. It was true, there were some signifigant benifits to being an adorable feline. He remembered Eygpt particularly fondly. Feline worship, the bright, warm sun, milk and honey, and plenty to eat. Yes, those were the days.
It seemed the sun was begining to come out. This helped clear Fjor's head signifigantly. His senses began to return to him. He could feel the presence of the others much easier. He decided he should at least learn the name of this woman who was holding him. He stretched his mind gently towards her, holding back as much of his own prescence as he could. Even if she did feel him, she wouldn't suspect the little cat in her arms. Still, in the past, allowing people to feel his mind had made them... Uneasy. Understandable. Coming into contact with any God's mind would be enough to knock a mortal for a loop. The God of Death, even more so.
As the tendril of his consciousness probed into her, he began to sweep through her mind. Then, he touched something strange. It almost felt like... another presence? He quickly pulled away from her mind and wriggled out of her arms. Dropping to the ground, he shook himself.
What in Hel is going on here? Two minds in one? I can't remember the last time I felt something similar...
Then, something else struck him. He felt the familiar presence of a spirit. Yet, it was not so familiar. Something was odd about it as well. It almost felt... Undead. He located the half-spirit and padded over towards it. Behind a bench, he found it. He had no hesitation extending his mind towards the spirit. Letting his full mind wash over the spirit, he entered its mind. Her mind.
His eyes staring straight at the ghost, invisible to all but him, he was sure, he asked, "And who, pray tell, might you be, spirit?"
