A break from storms

Jak had decided to tag along with Serena to a place called Prickle Mist Hill. He did not know why the place was called that however he did not want to think on it too much. It was a long trip to there in the first place. He wanted to get away from grassveil for a bit because of the recent mass of storms that had been hitting there...

"So Serena... Know anything about why these storms have been coming so frequently lately?" he decided to ask her. "They are driving me insane having to stay inside during them..." he ended.

He continued to walk along the path as they conversed as he did not want to stop. It was a long ways to the destination. He only wanted to have a conversation about it for a bit.

"Yeah go ahead. I'm not as scared of fire anymore." Serena smiled. Fire wasn't as scary as it had been, so she was able to stay by it without freaking out. Looking up, the Snivy ran up the tree and blocked the small amount of rain with more leaves and branches pulled from other parts of the tree.

Jak nodded as he cleared the area of anything that would cause the fire to spread. After clearing the area he noticed the snivy had climbed the tree and made the above leaves cover the area better. The rain did not get through as easily after she did that. As she did that, Jak then set some embers on some of the branches he had gathered while clearing the area.

The small fire helped a bit. When though it wasn't too cold out. It was the wetness that was causing the problems for Jak.

Serena then curled up in the tree to sleep out the storm. It seemed to work well, because the Slurpuff dream came back, and this time, there was a huge party going on in her head. Disco lights, music, food, drinks.... the dream felt real to her.

When the grass type woke up, the rain had stopped. Climbing down, she picked up her bag. "We can go now. The rain stopped." Serena told Jak. This was better weather to travel in.

Jak woke up as Serena had stated that the rain had stopped. He blinked a couple times and noticed that his little fire has burned out as expected. To be safe he dug at the ground around it a little bit and covered the spot where the fire was with dirt.

He then got up and picked up h his bag and followed Serena to the edge of the hill. "Which way?" He asked Serena as he looked around trying to find out where they had came from.

"Towards Rainfront, I believe." Serena said. That was definitely where they should be going... maybe they'd meet some new 'mon there! That'd be cool. Smiling, she looked in the distance. "Yep. Rainfront Town." The Snivy said with excitement.

Jak pondered about the name of the town. Took him a moment to realize where he heard the name from. On his way to grass veil when he fled his home. He passed through that town to get there.

"Rain front?" He said as he had remembered the name. "I think I passed through there once when I first arrived in grass veil.

He then looked up to the sky and noticed the clouds were completely non existent.

Serena nodded. "Yup. It's a town where mostly water type Pokemon live." She said. Given her bookworm status, it was hard not to spew information about what they were discussing. Luckily the town didn't look too far. Thank Arceus that was the case. Looking at Jak, she said, "We should get moving before it rains again. We don't need another incident where we can't find good cover."

Jak thought about it for a moment. "More rain..." he said softly. He did not like the sounds of it. "Does it rain here often or something?" he asked Serena as he started walking towards the direction she pointed out. He did not like the idea of being in an area that rained frequently. He was going to have to find something to keep him dry when it rained. It was going to be a pain for him otherwise.

The Snivy shrugged. "I wouldn't think so." She said. Serena didn't really have a cue about whether it rained a lot here or not. What mattered to her most right now was that they reached Rainfront before night fall. At night was when all the ferals would expose themselves in the open.

Jak sighed a bit with relief to here that she didn't think it would rain again. Just the thought of being stuck again was annoying. "So how much farther do you think town is?" he asked her as he continued to walk. He was not entirely sure how far it was from town. He had only been there once. He didn't quite remember where though.

((OOC: Want to roll? I am waiting for a bit of energy.))

"Approximately 20 minutes away." Serena said. She was sure that was how long it would take. Otherwise her calculations were completely inaccurate. Sighing, she kept walking calmly, with Jak at her heels. Today had been a bit scrambled for the grass type. More than she had wanted it to be.

Jak noticed something bouncing on a spring in the distance. it was a spoink. It also did not look hostile at all. "Hey there little guy." he said as he watched it bounce on its spring. He had seen these plenty of times at along his travels. Most of them are were never really hostile when he passed by them. Jak then noticed the oran berry on the ground and picked it up. "An oran berry. Want it?" he said as he offered it to Serena.

Serena nodded gratefully. "Thanks." She smiled. Putting it in her bag, she waved at the harmless Spoink. At least that one wasn't hostile. Not like it would've been able to attack them well anyway... Continuing on with great determination, the grass type looked around at all the beautiful nature around her. This place was nice, subtract the enemies and it'd be awesome.

Jak smiled as he turned around to see two ghastly appear right in front of him.... "Jak isssss it..." They said in unison as they appeared in front of him. Jak held his paw up to show not to attack if Serena had planned to attack.

"Who is asking..." he said back to them as he was startled by the ghastly's sudden appearance. "No one sssspecial... Jussssst our leader...." they replied in unison yet again. It was becoming a bit creepy how they spoke in unison like that.

Serena glared at them with her cold stare. "Who are you? State your real purpose of being here." She said, showing she wasn't afraid. Her encounter with William had made her braver against ghost types. These two Gastly weren't going to make her back down if they had to fight. 'They shouldn't be here, anyway..... They should be at the copse, or Shadowhue or something.' The Snivy thought.
