A break from storms

Jak {19} ^{-10 from entry}

Jak had decided to tag along with Serena to a place called Prickle Mist Hill. He did not know why the place was called that however he did not want to think on it too much. It was a long trip to there in the first place. He wanted to get away from grassveil for a bit because of the recent mass of storms that had been hitting there...

"So Serena... Know anything about why these storms have been coming so frequently lately?" he decided to ask her. "They are driving me insane having to stay inside during them..." he ended.

He continued to walk along the path as they conversed as he did not want to stop. It was a long ways to the destination. He only wanted to have a conversation about it for a bit.

"Y-yeah..... just a bit shaken is all...." Serena said, clearly shaken from what happened. That had given her quite the fright. Those Sevipers had put her at a disadvantage briefly, because they were poison types. The Zigzagoon wasn't a danger to her, but hopefully no more poison types would crop up.

Jak nodded. He looked ahead along the path and noticed some kind of orb on the ground. He had not seen one of those in a while. He walked up to grab it and looked at it carefully.

"Know what kind ..." he was going to ask what kind of orb this was but then remembered its name. "Ah a warp orb." he just remembered what it was. "Did you want this one?" he asked Serena as he offered it to her.

((If Serena doesn't take the orb then assume he puts it in his bag at this point in the post))

Jak nodded and then looked towards the direction they were going along the path.

"Shall we continue?" he asked Serena.

Serena took the orb gently from Jak. "Thanks. Yeah.... let's go." She said. The Snivy didn't want to encounter anymore feral Pokemon at the moment, so it would be a relief when they stopped popping up for a bit. Putting the orb in her bag, she continued walking with Jak close behind.

Jak looked towards Serena. He smiled as he continued to follow her into the forest. There was nothing happening as they walked. He then noticed an apple on the side of the road that was missed and he grabbed it as he walked. Putting it inside his bag.

He looked around for a bit after finding the apple as they walked. He wondered how big the dungeon was.

Just when Serena thought the enouncters were over for a while, a Haunter, a Gastly, and a Linoone appeared. Again, using her impulse, a Leaf Tornado was launched at all three. Only the Linoone going down this time. 'Shoot....' The Snivy thought worriedly. Using another Leaf Tornado, the Gastly went down. Serena decided to let Jak have more of a turn. "Your go." She said.

Jak looked at the haunter. It gave him a sinister look as he recoiled back from the shockingly scary face he gave him. He then charged the Haunter with a scratch attack. He flew straight past the haunter. It started laughing as it went to lick him. Jak was a bit startled to see himself go right through it. The Haunter started to laugh at him as he did so and he got frustrated as he unleashed a wicked bluish white flame towards it. It interrupted the Haunters lick attack.

The Haunter despite being a ghost did get burned from it. The Haunter was a bit surprised by the fact. It then shot a burst of wicked dark energy towards Jak as he jumped out of the way. ^NightShade

Jak was not in the mood for this so he unleashed a large amount of smoke so he could get out of there with Serena. However just as he went to do so the Haunter appeared in front of him. Giving him a spiteful look. Jak would have just blasted its face with the smoke but he somehow couldn't do it. "The heck..." he was a bit confused as the Haunter then hypnotized Jak as he then quickly fell asleep. He tried to stay awake but couldn't. Then the Haunter's eyes began to glow. ^{Starting a nightmare attack} Jak was helpless at that moment. He struggled to get awake....

Serena whacked the Haunter with Iron Tail, grabbing Jak and making a run for it. Thanks to her speed, the Haunter couldn't keep up. Reaching a fairly safe place, she set Jak down and shook him awake. "Jak, we made it. I whacked it and then ran out of there. We're safe." The Snivy said, smiling.

Jak opened his eyes slowly... "Man.... " he said rubbing his head. He had a bad headache from that. "What happened?" he asked as Serena stated she whacked the Haunter and got out of there with him. He smiled because he was sure he was a goner if she didn't get him. "Thanks." he said with a smile.

He looked around for a moment. "Soo. Where do we go now?" he asked Serena as he had no clue which direction she had went with him.

"Onward towards the hill," Serena said. She was glad they had gotten out of there in one piece.... Otherwise they would've been toast. The Snivy was glad she had Iron Tail as an egg move, or they wouldn't have gotten out of there at all. Shaking her head briefly, she helped Jak up.

Jak was helped up by Serena as he got to his feet. His headache was slowly going away. He was still trying to shake the sleepiness out of him. "I don't like that move..." He said as he got up. "Falling asleep during a battle is the worst thing I can think of that could happen." he said.

He was glad he was with Serena. "Thanks again for helping me there." he said with a smile. Jak then continued to walk towards the hill with Serena.

"No problem." Serena said with a grin. They were doing well, somewhat. They hadn't really passed out, so that was good. She looked ahead. The hill didn't seem to be too far away, but one could never tell. Sometimes there were illusions left by Zoruas or Zoroarks. Shrugging, the grass type moved on.

Jak looked towards the hill. It seemed like it was real to him. A fog started to roll into the area. "Great..." he thought out-loud. "Any ideas?" he asked as he looked towards Serena. He was unsure what to do about this. It was not a good idea to get lost in here now. The hill was still currently visible but as the fog was getting denser. It was becoming harder and harder to see it.

"I got an idea. Wait here." Serena said. She started climbing the nearby tree, and looked out over the fog. The hill was truly close by. Not so close that they could reach it in 2 minutes, but it was pretty close. Climbing back down, Serena smiled at him. "Keep going in the direction we're going, and we'll get there within 5 to 10 minutes." She said.

Jak {2}^{Fixed a miscalculation of energy. +5 trap did not affect Jak due to equipped trap scarf.}

Jak smiled as he heard the hill was nearby. "That is good" he said with a more positive attitude then when he saw the fog coming in.

He then continued in the direction of the hill that Serena had pointed out. "So how close do you feel to your evolution?" he asked. He was unsure if one could even feel it... It just didn't make much sense to him...

"Pretty close. I think it'll be happening soon." Serena said, feeling the energy come over her. It wasn't happening yet, but it would happen soon. Pushing the thought away for now, she smiled again at Jak. "Don't worry, I'll be fine when it happens." The Snivy explained, trying to console him in case he was nervous for her.
