A break from storms

Jak {19} ^{-10 from entry}

Jak had decided to tag along with Serena to a place called Prickle Mist Hill. He did not know why the place was called that however he did not want to think on it too much. It was a long trip to there in the first place. He wanted to get away from grassveil for a bit because of the recent mass of storms that had been hitting there...

"So Serena... Know anything about why these storms have been coming so frequently lately?" he decided to ask her. "They are driving me insane having to stay inside during them..." he ended.

He continued to walk along the path as they conversed as he did not want to stop. It was a long ways to the destination. He only wanted to have a conversation about it for a bit.

Jak smiled as she stated that she would be alright. "I am just curious to what it feels like. I never went through evolution yet." he said as he pointed to himself. It was pretty obvious this was his first form. He had been like this his whole life. He continued to walk along the path with Serena for a bit until he spotted the hill in the fog. It seemed that they had reached it. "Lets get to the top quickly I hate this fog..." he said as he ran to the top. He looked to see if Serena had followed.

Serena followed Jak at quick speeds, faster than she originally was. She would definitely evolve soon. Only Servine were this fast. "I hate the fog, too, Jak..... It sucks." The Snivy said. The sudden change in speed had still surprised her a little, just because it was so sudden. Smiling to herself, she tried not to jump up and down.

Jak smiled as they reached the top of the hill. Jak then proceeded to look all around them to find that the entire place was covered in fog with the exception of any of the hills in the area. "This is lovely..." he stated out of annoyance. "Maybe we should camp out here for a bit." he said to Serena. He was not too happy about the fog surrounding them completely.

He then sat down on the highest point of the hill and put his bag behind him to lean against. Careful not to have his tail burn it. He sighed as he watched the clouds overhead move across the sky.

Serena nodded and climbed up the tree he was leaning on. Curling up in the branches, she closed her eyes and smiled. "I'll be taking a nap if you don't mind, Jak." She said. The Snivy felt like this nap was long awaited...... Sleep started to wash over her like a blanket.

Jak nodded as Serena climbed the tree at the top of the hill and went to sleep for a bit. He stayed awake at the time. Wondering how long it will be before the fog lifted. With that he kept eye on the area. He was glad to be out of town for a bit. The storms really were driving him mad. He wanted to be out. However he couldn't then. The rain prevented it.

He looked towards the direction he thought the town would be. He could not see it at all. Even if the fog wasn't there. It was simply too far to see from that point. He looked towards the sky and noticed the clouds were slowly getting closer together... "I hope it doesn't start raining here..." he said softly. The sky looked like it might rain but it was too early to tell. The sky was still mostly clear. The cloud were just simply getting closer together forming bigger ones.

Serena started dreaming of Slurpuffs and Vanilluxes and rainbows... This was quite typical for her, but it still felt odd.

When she woke up, storm clouds were starting to roll in. Quickly, she climbed down and grabbed Jak's hand. "Come on. It's going to rain, and I don't want to see your fire extinguish." With that, she pulled him up the tree to safety.

Jak was shaken awake as it seemed he had dozed off. The storm clouds had rolled in and Serena had brought him under the tree. He sighed as he felt a single drop of rain. It stung slightly as it hit him. "So now what." he asked Serena. He had no clue what to do now that they were stuck under the tree. He couldn't leave it if the storm got too heavy.

He looked out in the distance and noticed the fog was beginning to lift. "Just when the fog started lifting too." he said slightly annoyed. "Well. Nothing we can do now" he said as he looked towards Serena. He wondered why he passed out there. He must of been pretty relaxed..

"Yeah... this sucks." Serena said. The good news was that Jak was out of the rain and safe. That was a good thing. She felt bad that she could go out in the rain but he couldn't. Being a Charmander must've stunk for Jak. Pushing the thought away, the Snivy sighed.

Jak looked towards Serena. He that she must of felt bad for him. "Hey. It's not too bad." he reached his hand out and had a couple of drops of rain hit his paw. He tried to hold back his flinching from the sting it produced. He could only help but laugh as he probably looked silly trying that. "Yea....." he said softly as he realized how foolish of an attempt that was.

Serena hugged him briefly. She wanted to move on so bad, but they couldn't, given the circumstances. It was raining, and there was no way Jak could travel in the rain. 'I feel so bad for him.... I wish I was the Charmander instead.' The Snivy thought sympathetically. Serena didn't want Jak to be stuck here.

Jak returned the hug. He was glad to have Serena as a friend. Although he wished that it would stop raining so they can continue. He let go of Serena. "Guess this would be a good time to rest up a little more before we continue." he said with a smile. He sat against the tree then he noticed he left his bag out in the rain... "ughh." he was a bit annoyed as he went to prepare to run after it and run back. He would make it and the rain wasn't heavy enough to kill him. He got up and walked to the edge of the tree's cover towards his bag and stayed there a moment.

Serena watched him nervously. Would he be okay? The Snivy knew heavy rain would kill him, but she was still deeply worried. Would Jak be alright? Would he be hurt? Would he pass out in pain? These questions circled the Snivy's head like a merri-go-round. 'He'll be ok.' She decided.

Jak noticed the rain got slightly lighter. It was not too heavy to begin with so this was his chance to get his bag. He bolted towards his bag. Each drop stung slightly. "Got it!" he shouted as he grabbed his bag and bolted back towards the tree. He then heard the sound of rain behind him was getting stronger. 'Oh shit bad move' he thought as he noticed when he ran back to the tree a wall of water was coming towards him from behind. He then ran faster and faster trying to beat it to the tree. At this point he reached the tree so fast he wound up having to grab the tree to prevent himself from slipping back out from under it. "Made it..." he said as it started to downpour.... He was a bit out of breath from running so fast.

"That was a narrow escape." Serena commented. That had scared her for a minute. The huge downpour had almost beat him to the tree, and the Snivy would've had to drag him under before it got beyond help. Shaking her head with a sigh, she smiled at him. "The good thing is that you're ok." Serena told him.

Jak could't help but chuckle at the thought. Even though it would be serious if he got caught in that downpour. "yea. that was pretty close." he said as he noticed some of the rain made it though the tree top. It was not a lot. Just enough to cause him some slight discomfort.

"Hope this doesn't last too long..." he said weih a heavy sigh. Jak then got an idea to make a small fire to stay by to keep some of the area dry. "Would it be alright to make a small fire next to myself?" He asked Serena as he knew brass types tend to be afraid of fire at times.
