A break from storms

Jak had decided to tag along with Serena to a place called Prickle Mist Hill. He did not know why the place was called that however he did not want to think on it too much. It was a long trip to there in the first place. He wanted to get away from grassveil for a bit because of the recent mass of storms that had been hitting there...

"So Serena... Know anything about why these storms have been coming so frequently lately?" he decided to ask her. "They are driving me insane having to stay inside during them..." he ended.

He continued to walk along the path as they conversed as he did not want to stop. It was a long ways to the destination. He only wanted to have a conversation about it for a bit.

"No, I don't.... I agree that they're driving me insane, too." Serena responded as they walked. This was her first time going to Pricklemist, and despite that, she wasn't in a very good mood thanks to the random storms cropping up everywhere. It was driving her mad... Why wouldn't they just go away?! That was what Serena wanted to know.

Jak listened to Serena as she said she was unsure why the storms were so frequent. He felt bad as they were driving the Snivy insane also. 'Well at least she can be in the rain' he thought to himself.

"Any reason you wanted to come here for a break from the town?" he asked Serena as they continued to walk to their destination. He had not really heard of this place before. Although the area seemed a bit familiar. It was possibly because he might of crossed it when he first traveled to grassveil.

"Well, I knew it was different, and it might be a good place to start exploring. You never know what you'll find," Serena smiled. This was one thing besides evolving that she liked; exploring new and unique dungeons. Then the thought of evolving came back to her. She was one level away, and this excited the Snivy greatly.

Jak listened to her reason. He was not sure why he wanted to know the reason. He just wanted to talk. He could not get a certain thing off his mind. The fact that his friend was somewhere in town... He would have loved to stay there and search but the storms prevented it.

Jak smiled as she stated her reason. It was good enough for him. "Yea. Going to new places is definitely a good thing. I was just unsure if you been here already. You didn't really mention it on the way here." he responded.

They were probably a little bit halfway to the dungeon by now.

"Ah, I see. Well, I have exciting new." Serena paused for effect. "I'm evolving soon!" She said, grinning. The Snivy felt that Jak would evolve soon, too. This was definitely exciting! What with no preparations or anything, Serena felt unprepared, but still excited as they walked along casually. "I'm so excited!" She murmured to herself.

"Evolution?" he thought for a moment. "I have not heard of it in a long time." he continued.

"Congrats!" he said with a large smile. He was glad that she was happy about the idea of evolving. "What do you evolve into next?" he asked as he is not too familiar with evolution lines. He did not get such a lesson at his village. He was going to but the village got attacked before he ever got a chance.

He was not aware that he might evolve someday. He did not feel the need to at the moment. He was just fine being himself.

"Thanks. I'll be evolving into a Servine." Serena grinned. She always thought Servines looked cool, new, and interesting. The Snivy would soon be one herself, which she found even more exciting than just the fact she was evolving. Smiling, she continued walking at a quick pace, a couple inches in front of Jak.

"Any ideas on what might be here" He decided to ask Serena. He wanted to be as prepared about the dungeon as possible if he could. If she didn't know anything about it. It wouldn't really matter. It's not too important. He was sure both of them are strong enough to combat any hostile ferals there.

He looked to the side of the path and noticed that the land looked a bit more wet here as they got closer to the dungeon. 'Oh boy...' he thought to himself.

"Nope. Not a clue." Serena said. To be honest, she had read a book about this place a long time ago, but forgot about what was here because it didn't seem very interesting at the time. But now, she wished she had remembered, because they were entering the dungeon for the first time ever. Without any clue about what Pricklemist stored, Serena felt helpless, despite her strength.

Jak noticed Serena seemed stressed about the fact she had new clue. "Hey. Its alright." he said with a smile.

"We can handle anything together." he said with a smile. He knew they could handle it together. He was just a little worried about the fact that this area seemed to be wetter then the other area's he has been too. Usually hinting towards the fact that water types could live in this area..

Serena is strong against them. However he is extremely vulnerable if they try to get his tail.

Serena nodded. "You seem worried about your vulnerability. I can take out any water types in sight, no worries." She smiled. The Snivy would protect Jak no matter what. It wasn't that she loved him, she just really liked him as a friend. She would hate to see him deceased by water types. This thought made her feel more energized and alert.

Jak nodded. "Your a great friend." he said with a smile as he looked ahead along the path. It seemed barren at the moment. They have gotten really close to the dungeon by this point. He listened for any movement as they entered. It was quiet silent. "odd." he said to himself. He kept his guard up as it was a similar kind of silence when there was something waiting for another thing to travel through for an ambush... It was a bit unsettling knowing something was waiting for them to pass. "I think something is here.." he stated in a hushed tone.

He built up a small flame to build upon if they got attacked.

Serena saw two Seviper and a Zigzagoon come out of nowhere. Panicking, Serena used her newly learned move: Leaf Tornado. That sent the Zigzagoon flying, and one of two Seviper went down. The tornado was this powerful because Serena had sent it out with fearful force that was so strong, it took down the two Pokemon except for the last Seviper.

Jak {6} ^{-13 from rolls (19 - 1 - 3 + 5 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 1 - 3 - 2)}

Jak noticed the pokemon jump out at them, however Serena had a quick reaction of launching a leaf tornado at them. It had taken out two out of the three pokemon there. He then built the last bit of flame and launched a flurry of embers onto the Seviper while charging at it with his claws extended. The Seviper went to strike him with a poison tail attack as he got near. He jumped out of the way and lashed out with several scratch attacks.

The pokemon backed off a bit as it got itself back together. "Leave." he said to it. It seemed to have ignored him and went after him with another poison tail attack. He just dodged it by a couple of inches.

He then blasted it with several more embers leaving burn marks all over it, it flinched a bit at the burns not noticing Jak's next moves. Jak then released a smokescreen and grabbed Serena and left the pokemon. It was lost in the smoke. He did not want to have to take it out at that moment. Something told him it was defending its territory.

As he left with serena he noticed a box on the ground and he picked it up as they left that particular area. He then put it in his bag once they stopped. "You alright?" he asked Serena.
