| First topic message reminder :Standing at the foot of this humongous mountain of black stone sharply piercing the skies above brought back memories. This was the place where William and Acro had met for the first time. This was the place William had found his Joy Ribbon. This also was the place he had found the Link Cable he used to evolve into the Pokémon he was today. It was just one mountain in an entire range of them, but this one was special. So many things had happened here already. And that was why the Gengar was almost stunned by the wave of nostalgia that overcame him seeing this mountain again after such a long time. But he was not here to think of the good old times. He was here to save a poor, defenseless family from the torment of one particular Scraggy. This should not be too difficult as he was a seasoned explorer. Unless of course some unforeseen disaster happened. Something like someone completely inexperienced tagging along.

| Sova paused for a moment and gave the gengar a bit of a worried look. "Uh....no....I meant....doing good...." He felt bad shooting William down after all the effort put into that speech, and at the same time a bit disturbed at how depressing it sounded. He was glad he wasn't thinking what the gengar had assumed, as that speech probably would have just made his mood worse if that were the case. Sadly, it didn't help anyways. Or perhaps it did, in that it gave him more reason to consider not trying to be a hero, to just do what he wanted. To choose what he wanted to live for. | |

| The Gengar shrugged. "Ah, okay then. Still pretty much the same points apply here. Is doing good worth it? No. Should one do good? Yes. As paradoxical as it may sound, that is something I am rather convinced of. Being good sucks, but someone has to do it. Helping others can cause much strain on oneself, but if noone were to do it then life would hardly be worth living. That is my opinion at least." The Gengar was interested in what the Eevee's opinion on the subject matter would be. The Normal type was younger, had experienced other things than the Gengar had. William was old, but that did not mean that he was omniscient. Quite the opposite actually. He acknowledged that his thinking might be too conservative, so he hoped for the Eevee's thoughts to grant him some insights he couldn't have reached otherwise. | |

| Sova thought for a moment, not sure how to respond. "I don't want to help a world that doesn't want to help me. I don't want to be the bad guy, but I hate putting in so much effort and getting so little back. Besides, I'm so weak and small, what difference can I even make?" He said, a bit quietly.
He was hoping William would say something about him not being weak, or maybe agree with him that he shouldn't be trying to help others, just something to give him a reason to not do good and not feel guilt. Though he probably still would anyways, not even trying would just make him feel evil.

| The Gengar couldn't help but grin. "Wasn't it you who insisted on not being weak when we first met? So you'll have to decide. Either you can admit that you are weak and go home now. This place is too dangerous for weak Pokémon. Or you are a strong Pokémon and have the power to change the world. What will it be?" Now this would be interesting. Would the Eevee find a way to argue himself out of this one? "In any case - I believe that strength, the strength of character is something that is proven by helping others even though you know you will most likely not be helped back. Anyone can help with a reward in mind. But true altrusim is a virtue much more impressive than any physical prowess. I'm sure many disasters could have been prevented had someone decided to help at the right time." | |

| Sova looked to the gengar, a bit surprised. "You're the one who insisted I was weak when we met. I guess your opinion of me has changed, then...." He said, pausing to think. Giving up and going home certainly would be easy. He looked at the ground, shook his head and looked back to William. "I'm not weak. Giving up would be weak, and regardless of whether or not I'm recognized, I won't take the weak way out. Lets go!"
Just as he finished speaking, a bit of gravel under his foot gave away, causing him to slip slightly. Luckily he didn't fall, or he could have had quite a long fall. He laughed in relief to still be standing, regaining his stance and continuing to walk. What an ironic turn of events it would have been if he were to fall down the mountain and batter himself just after deciding to prove he wasn't weak.

| The uncanny perpetual grin on the Gengar's face gave way to...a smile. Not condescending, not smug, not superior. One could almost say that the Ghost type was...proud of the Eevee. Despite much to support the oppiosite descision the Normal type had decided to work hard at bettering himself and doing the right thing. "Congratulations.", the Poison type chuckled. "You chose wisely. I have to admit that I am impressed. Now treasure this spirit and use its energy to continuously improve yourself. To stop trying to better oneself is to waste one's potential." With enough training this Eevee could very well become a hero some day. The spirit he had for sure. But for that to become a reality he would have to be protected now, so he could grow stronger first. | |

| (Energy - 17) Sova couldn't help but smile at the gengar's words, making all of his efforts to date feel worth it, just to get that little bit of recognition. His mood was certainly much better. "Thank-" He was abruptly cut off by a dark figure leaping down from a ledge higher up on the mountain. Luckily he was able to notice the attacker despite being distracted talking to William, just in time to detect and avoid the attacker narrowly, as the Poochyena landed right beside him with ease, despite leaping from a bit high up. "Hi...." Sova attempted to communicate with the enemy, simply receiving a low growl as a response. - Lord E V carried out 1 launched of one Black Mist Mountain :

| Quietly the Gengar levitated up the mountain next to the Eevee. That was until a shadow came jumping down the mountain, almost hitting the Normal type. A Poochyenna. Of course it just had to be a Dark type. Ah well - no matter. As soon as the Gengar had regained his composure, he leaped up into the air to get out of the Poochyenna's reach. From his new position he then collected the most twisted thoughts he could find - images of the 4th dimension, triangles with two right angles and objects turned inwards on themselves. Basically everything a normal mind could, should and would not comprehend was concentrated into one small point, at which a glowing ball of indiscernible colour formed. It was not that the orb was colourless, but rather that it was of a colour the common mind could not comprehend. And now this Confuse Ray was launched towards the canine assailant in the hope of halting its relentless assault. | |

| Just as the foe began a charge towards Sova for another attack, the ball of mind-death came flying down onto the enemy, scrambling the poochyena's eggs, so to speak....eggs being the mind. Sova used the opportunity to attack the enemy, tackling it from the side, running to the other side just as it stumbled almost to a fall and tackling it back the other way, causing it to fall flat on the ground.
As the enemy regained his senses, the poochyena pit at Sova, who stepped back to avoid the attack and swatted his paw at the enemy's head, knocking its gaze down to the ground briefly before standing on his back paws and slamming his front paws down on the enemy's head, knocking its bottom jaw against the hard ground and dazing it.
"This....is my territory...." The enemy mumbled as he stumbled to his feet. Before Sova could defend himself, he heard the flapping of wings nearby and turned around to see an aerodactyl soaring through the skies nearby, coming dangerously close to them, letting out a sound comparable to a cross between a squawk and a roar as a warning it was planning on attacking....probably looking for some food....
As Sova remembered he still had an enemy to deal with, he turned to see the Poochyena now cowering behind him. Clearly, he was not friends with the aerodactyl.

| The Gengar let out a groan as yet another threat unveiled itself. Floating in front of a large rock, William hoped for the Aerodactyl to be foolish enough to charge right into him. With a taunting grin on his face, the Poison type picked up a small pebble, attempting to hit the Flying type by throwing it at him to gain its attention. Maybe defeating this adversary would even cause for the Dark type to leave the two in peace. After all it did seem as if the Poochyenna was quite terrified of the prehistorical Pokémon. The Gengar decided that it would be a better idea not to think about what it may have been that had caused for this Pokémon to experience such a substantial amount of fright. Now what was Sova going to do? Having a fearl Pokémon seek one's protection certainly was no usual occurrence. | |

| Sova watched as the flying beast halted its flight instantly, turned to the gengar because of a mere pebble hitting it on the head. Though instead of just attacking, it looked at him for a moment, before levitating some nearby boulders around its self and sending them all flying at William at once. Sova looked to the poochyena and back to the aerodactyl before deciding to assist his ally in fighting, running up to the enemy, leaping up off the ground and biting down onto one of its legs.
The beast didn't even hesitate before swaying back, then forth, flinging the eevee off of it and sending him hitting the ground hard, back near the former enemy canine, whom no longer seemed interested in attacking them. Sova was now starting to understand why his new ally was so scared of the flying monster, it seemed quite powerful. At the very least, he was hopeful he stalled the aerodactyl long enough for William to avoid or recover from its earlier attack.

| While the Aerodactyl's reaction was not what the Gengar had hoped for, it would have to do. By taking a step backwards and disappearing into the rock behind him the Ghost type was easily able to dodge the incoming Ancient Power, which loudly smashed into the boulders. For a moment the area fell silent. But then William appeared from his hiding place again, charging directly at the Rock type in an attempt to use the move Payback, his right fist glowing in an eerie black light. Coupled with his high mobility and many immunities and thus his high evasive capacity the move was quite an effective one, simply requiring for an attack to be made by the enemy to gain a large amount of additional power. The only downside to it was that it was an attack requiring to get close to the opponent. Otherwise it could have been even more useful. | |

| Sova watched as he struggled to get up, relieved that his ally was not injured. Sadly the same could not be said about himself, being tossed hurt quite a bit. As he struggled to his feet, he looked up at the fight to see William attempting an attack, though the aerodactyl was using some move he had never seen before, which was rare for him to say the least. It seemed to be charging some kind of bright energy in its mouth, probably for a projectile or beam.
What ever the attack was, it looked powerful and was aimed right for William, but what could Sova do from his current position to help? He couldn't reach the enemy in time for sure, especially still trying to shake off his injury, but he tried regardless. All he could think abut was how much he wished he had some way to hit it from far away, sure he could probably find something of use in his bag but by then it would be too late. Then something he did not expect happened.
Sova began glowing faintly as star-shaped energy projectiles began appearing around him. For a moment he was shocked, he knew what Swift was but didn't even know he could use it yet. After a short moment, he focused on making the projectiles fly at the aerodactyl, all hitting it successfully and stalling it for just a second, hopefully long enough for William to land his attack.

| A swarm of star-shaped projectiles came heading for the scene of combat. However both of the combattants were too absorbed in their own attacks to notice the incoming attack. But while the stars simply passed through the Gengar's incorporeal form, the Aerodactyl was not as lucky. True, its Rock typing reduced the damage taken, but nevertheless it was visibly distraught by the sudden impact, taking a second to regain its composure. The distraction was not enough to stop the attack however and before the Gengar could reach the Flying type, a gigantic, brilliant beam of staggering intensity was launched directly at him. The blinding light made vision almost impossible, the noise surpassing anything else in the area. What little there was of shrubberries in the area were quickly swept away and incinerated almost instantly. Even the rock the Ghost type had hidden in moments ago was being reduced to a smouldering crater. Finally the attack subsided and slowly the blinding light faded away. Silhouettes began to appear in front of a scorched background. And then suddenly, a fist of shadow struck the Aerodactyl straight in the jaw, the Gengar completely unharmed. | |

| Sova panicked as he saw the massive beam hit his ally directly, certainly knocking him out. Luckily the eevee was not close enough for it to hurt him, though he did struggle to not be blown back by the force of it and couldn't look directly at it very well. After the beam subsided and he could see the area again, he tilted his head, a bit puzzled to see William completely unharmed. Apparently this all-powerful destructoray was a normal type move....either that or this gengar was truly much stronger than he had originally thought.
Regardless, the aerodactyl took an attack head on from William, which, coupled with its already being fatigued from the Hyper Beam, knocked it out of the air and onto the ground, though not knocking it out. Sova again summoned a swarm of stars to assist from a distance since getting in close against this enemy clearly wasn't working for him, sending them flying at the prehistoric flying beast. While it seemed to be too tired to move from its earlier attack, the Swift seemed to be doing better at making it angry than hurting it....
The enemy then decided to Roost, quickly healing its self. Sova at least recognized this move, realizing how good of a choice it was since the enemy was already grounded in the first place. It then prepared another attack, its mouth glowing yet again, though this time it seemed....different. The Instead of the glowing light from earlier, this time there was simply a faint black glow.
(In short : Aerodactyl sits around for a while, unable to move from the Hyper Beam, deciding to heal up with Roost and prepare Crunch.)
