| First topic message reminder :Basic Hoenn Map Cassidy woke up to the sound of her rather loud Taillow alarm. The clock was a plain pale blue other than the Taillow model situated on top of it. The alarm continued to play the recorded "Taillow! Taillow!" call until Cassy rolled over and turned it off, looking at the time as she did so. It was 6:30am and Cass was about to go back to sleep when she realised what the day was. She practically threw the quilt off herself as she leaped out of bed, stretching her arms. She went over to her window and threw open the curtains before opening the windows themselves to let in the fresh air. After taking a quick shower to freshen up, Cassidy went back into her room to get changed. Sifting through her drawers, she picked out a shirt that was white with orange stripes. To go with it, she picked out a pair of pale peach coloured three quarter length trousers and a pale blue coat. Once she was dressed, she brushed her dark red hair and dug underneath her bed for her bag. The bag was a simple, grey-blue shoulder bag but it was roomy and would likely hold all of what she would need to take with her. Once she had packed everything she was going to take with her, she put her shoes on, grabbed her dark blue scarf and left a note in the kitchen for her parents when they woke up. She headed out at 7:30. Cassidy didn't have to meet the Professor in his laboratory until about 10:00, so she spent the next few hours just outside of Littleroot Town, watching the world go by. She sat with her sketch book in her lap and her pencils and watercolours in one pocket of her bag. The route however, seemed to be deserted. There were no Pokemon to draw and she was so familiar with Route 101 now that she could draw every blade of grass without looking. After a long while of sitting silently Cas gathered her things with a sigh and headed back into Town. She wandered down the street on her way to her friend Celeste's house. Surely she would be up and about by now. It was nearly 9:30 after all. Only half an hour to go until they could meet their new Pokemon! - Cassidy:

| Doro took the hit with several violent shivers and whimpers. Once the winds had let up, he struggled to even lift a paw. He shook his head and waited patiently for his next instruction.
Celeste could tell that Doro wouldn't last much longer in the state he was in. She decided to go all out. "Mud Slap again, right in the eyes! Then use tackle!" She instructed him with a deep breath and a nod.
Doro shot out more mud, aiming straight for the Tauros' face. He then propelled himself towards the other Pokemon's side. |

| "Dodge the Mud Slap. Tackle in return!" Norman's commands were clear and calm.
The Tauros just moved it's head so that the Mud-slap hit the side of it's body instead. He them charged towards Doro, using his own Tackle attack. He was rather intimidating. | |

| "Eeep!" Doro squealed, scrambling backwards. However, his back hit against the wall and the Tauros was still coming for him. He squeezed his eyes shut.
"Doro!" Celeste called once the damage had been dealt. She ran up and confirmed that he was down for the count. She returned him to his ball with a murmur of 'You did great.' and then walked back to her spot. "I'm not finished yet!" She gripped Halcyon's ball. This was her last shot. "Alright, Halcyon! You can do it!"
Halcyon burst from the ball, still looking exhausted. He perked up a bit once he realized that he was to fight again.
"Halcyon, Nature Power!" The Tauros might be big, but that only made it even easier to hit. Plus, this was an attack Halcyon could pull off from a distance, the best place to be when battling this beast.
Halcyon shot out several stars, all of them sharp edged and heading straight for the Tauros. |

| "Icy Wind!" The Tauros attempted to freeze the incoming stars with an icy breath, but Norman didn't account for how sharp they would be. They cut through the winds like a knife through butter, easily hitting the Tauros. In a surprise turnaround, the Tauros was flung across the battlefield only to land and be knocked out.
Cassidy leaped up and cheered for her friend. | |

| Celeste looked on in astonishment for a moment. The next moment, however, she was grinning widely and whooping. "Alright! Great job Halcyon!" She dashed over to the Lotad and cuddled it lovingly. She then returned him to his Pokeball, knowing he was exhausted. She stood, dusted off her clothes, and turned to Norman. "Great battle!"
Deluge and Ace skated and flew over to their trainer, crowing and cheering happily. Celeste laughed at their antics and returned those two to their Pokeballs as well. |

| Cassidy grinned and returned everyone to their Pokeballs Everyone but Shiruva that is. Instead she carried the Silcoon in her arms, planning on getting in some training with her and Serena whilst Ditri and Twayblade rested.
Norman walked up to Celeste, a smile on his face, "Another great battle! I am honoured to present you with the Balance Badge." He put the badge into Celeste's hand. | |

| Celeste beamed up at Norman and after thanking him profusely, hooked the badge to her scarf. She turned to Cassidy and then eyed Wally. "We were supposed to help him catch something weren't we?" She didn't particularly want to, but a promise was a promise. Anyway, they could show him real quick while they were resting Ditrysia, Twayblade, Doro, and Halcyon. As he was practicing, they could train the remaining four Pokemon. |

| Norman nodded as he waved Wally over, "That's correct."
"A promise is a promise," smiled Cas nervously, echoing Celeste's thoughts. She then introduced herself and Shiruva to the young trainer-to-be before leading him out of the gym.
Before they left, Norman lent Wally another of his Zigzagoon to help him weaken a Pokemon enough to catch it. | |

| Celeste introduced herself, Ace and Deluge as the trio walked back towards route 102. Once they had dropped off both Cassidy's and Celeste's injured Pokemon, they continued forward. After a long moment of silence, she decided that now was as good a time as any to begin. "Well, catching Pokemon isn't really too difficult when you get down to the basics." Celeste began. "Basically, you walk into the grass and search for a Pokemon. Once you find one that you'd like to capture, you and your Pokemon battle it until it's tuckered out. Once it gets tired, you throw the Pokeball and you hope really hard that it stays inside! If it doesn't work, then you keep trying to tire it out." Celeste explained the process the best she could. It was really more of a thing you learned by doing and seeing. |

| "Oh... O-okay," replied Wally. Norman had also given him five Pokeballs to attempt a capture with.
Cassidy smiled, "Well I think Celeste pretty much explained all we can say." "Alrighty then..."
"Soo..." Cass said as they wandered into the grass, "WWhat sort of Pokemon are you hoping for?"
"I don't know... perhaps another Zigzagoon? Or a Wurmple... Dustox are quite cool I guess.. and your Beautifly was pretty good in battle..."
Cassidy smiled, "Well I guess we'll see what's in the grass."
---
After a few more minutes of searching, Wally pointed to a Ralts. "H-hey! What Pokemon is this?" he asked.
"Oh a Ralts!" grinned Cassidy, "You wanna catch it?"
Wally looked unsure but he then returned his gaze to the Ralts and nodded, sending out Norman's Zigzagoon. | |

| Celeste was half observing Wally and half training up Ace and Deluge. She had been trying out techniques for Deluge to use on Flying types and finding ways for Ace to dodge these and turn them against the Surskit when Wally had found the Ralts. She nodded to her Pokemon as a signal to take a break, and walked up to where Wally was attempting his first capture.
------------------
Wally took a deep breath and nodded to the Zigzagoon. It was a well behaved creature and one well suited to the task. It happily strode up to where it would need to be to engage the Ralts in battle.
"Okay, Zigzagoon!" Wally called out, all nervousness at being watched falling away. "Use Tackle!" It was clear Wally had had some sort of practice battling Pokemon, because he dealt out orders with ease and appeared to know what techniques worked best for the Zigzagoon.
The Zigzagoon dashed towards the small Psychic Pokemon with eyes burning with passion and love of battle. He barreled into its side and the Ralts toppled over with a weak grunt.
Wally looked towards Cassidy. "Should...Should I try and catch it?" He was very unsure about this whole process and wasn't aware that he may be losing his window of opportunity. |

| "Yes!" grinned Cassidy. Wally as so close to catching this wild Ralts. Meanwhile, she and Shiruva were training. The Silcoon fired a quick String Shot towards the Ralts to stop it from getting away so that Wally could catch it.
It was just then that she began to glow....
The Silcoon seemed to realise and let out a cheerful cry. Her cocoon cracked out dissipated as she became a Beautifly, just like her fellow team mate, Ditri. Only of course she was shiny.
Cassidy suddenly ignored Wally's attempts to catch a Pokemon in favour of hugging Shiru. "I'm so proud of you!!" she grinned. | |

| Celeste grinned brightly for both Wally and Cassidy. She hummed and then nodded to Wally. "Get on with it then! Hurry!" She urged him with raised eyebrows.
"Eh!? Oh! Yes!" Wally took out one of the Pokballs given to him by Norman. He pressed the button in the center and threw the now enlarged Pokeball. The red and white sphere soared through the air and opened, a beam of red light encasing the fallen Ralts. The ball finished its descent and landed with a dull thump. It wiggled about for a moment.
Click.
Wally beamed and breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought it was going to get away! He released the Ralts from the ball and sat down on the ground to bond with his tired, but still adorable Pokemon.
Celeste smiled at Wally before turning back to Ace and Deluge. She urged them to continue their training and watched both with her eyes and through the Pokedex, scanning each of them every so often to see if they had gained any levels. At the current time, Deluge had leveled up to level ten, and Ace was now level eleven. She hummed happily and checked their moves, delighted when she found that Ace had learned the move Quick Attack.

| Cassidy grinned at Wally, Shiruva perched on her head. The way her wings fanned out to Cas' sides as she sat there looked like a great ending pose for a contest appeal round. Cassy wondered if she should use it at some point. In a double appeal however, symmetry would probably work best.
"Awesome, Wally! Are you going to name your Ralts?" she asked, both hers and Shiru's heads tilting just slightly to the side. | |

| Wally thought for a moment. After a while he smiled down warmly at the psychic type and said softly, "I think I'll name her Silvia." He cuddled with the white colored pokemon and began talking to it animatedly in hushed tones.
Celeste chuckled a bit at Wally's name choice as well as his flailing arms as he spoke with Silvia. She turned to Cassidy with an inquisitive look. "So, keep training or carry on the adventure?" She grinned in a lop sided sort of way whilst her pokemon just rolled their eyes at her. |
