The Fire That Burns From Within...And On His Tail

"Just head down the hall and go through the first door to the right, I'll be with you in a moment," Morpheus spoke to the next client, a Charmeleon, as he placed a box of belongings in a different room. He left the client to find the room himself, having been busied with deliveries of various objects and tools for refurbishing the cabin. He hefted the boxes onto a counter, struggling with the weight of them and taking a deep breath as he finished. He turned and entered the room he had directed the client to, talking as he entered.

"Okay, so, I'm going to have to hypnotize you into a slumber, so don't be afraid if you suddenly fall asleep. Things might be a bit weird at first, but I'll be with you shortly inside the dream. When you start out you're going to be significantly weaker than you are now, and you might find that you have moves you had a long time ago and lose your newer ones. When you get hurt in the dream tower, it will not transfer into the real world, but it'll still feel rather painful. Any questions and or concerns?" he smiled.

The fire crackled to life almost immediately, and the spiritomb smiled a bit in relief, "Yeah...that and strange things like to come out at night here."
Almost as if scripted, there was a ruffle in some of the bushes somewhere behind Morpheus. He turned to see what it was, and spotted a shape moving in the distance, but it had fled behind the cover of the forest. His Psycho Cut gauntlet returned, as he prepared himself in case whatever it was attacked. The spiritomb seemed to be friendly, but that suspicious shape sure didn't as a growl echoed around the area as if they were in a cave, before a golden figure suddenly fell from a tree above and attempted to latch onto Jak's face, a shiny charmander was attacking!

Jak smiled as the spiritomb still remained friendly it seemed. It then stated that strange things came out at night. 'Strange things?' he thought as a sound of ruffling in one of the surrounding bushes occurred. He quickly turned towards it only to see it had fled into the forest. Never getting the chance to see what it was.

"What kind of th-" Jak went to speak but had something jump onto him almost the exact moment he was going to say things.

It was golden in color, and had a flame on its tail. Jak was completed stunned when he saw it. He recognized the flame on its tail to be a charmanders, and having that color only meant that one of these "Guardians" took Obera's previous form.

"Get off! Get Off!" he shouted as he shook his head. "Obera!" he grabbed the charmander and pulled it off his face. He promptly threw it a little ways away from him. Attempting not to harm it too much. "Stop! Don't do this!" he stated to it as it landed on the ground.

He had completely forgotten she had evolved along with him. He was so used to seeing her as a charmander that, it just seemed natural.

The charmander did not seem to respond to the charmeleon's cries, as more jumped out to attack the two. Morpheus hesitated to attack, not quite being a battle ready type of pokemon some other pokemon he encountered were, and ended up getting slammed in the gut by a tail. The flames from the tail enveloped him and burned into his skin and damaged him, leaving a rather harsh burn on the drowzee. The charmanders turned towards the charmeleon, hissing and growling before one was suddenly blasted into the bushes by a Dark Pulse, the source being their new-found friend Tin.

Jak noticed 2 or so more Shiny charmanders jump out to attack Jak and Morpheus. "Ok, this is something." he stated as he drew out his claws. One of the charmanders had jumped and slammed it's tail into Morpheus leaving a burn due to the flames enveloping him. Jak had saw this and immediately got between Morpheus and the others. As he did this they all turned towards him. All hissing and growling before one suddenly got blasted by some form of dark energy.

Jak glanced at the spiritomb who had just blasted the one of the charmanders. "Thanks." he stated as he rushed to the other two with his claws drawn out. Slashing at each one with his claws drawn out. He then looked towards the one closer to Morpheus and bit down on it. He bit as hard as he could down on it's tail.

The charmander squealed and thrashed about, "Why are you doing this to me!?" the shiny charmander cried, almost as if it was genuinely being tortured, "I thought we were friends!" another spoke just behind the charmeleon before latching onto the tail with a Bite attack.
Mopheus was busy fending off another charmander as the third had turned to attack him. Morpheus slashed at the other pokemon with Psycho Cut, causing the charmander to cry out in pain before spitting embers at the drowzee once more. He cried out as he was struck by the attack, and sent another Psycho Cut at the charmander, luckily cutting off the stream of embers as it was sent flying.

Jak
Jak held onto the pokemon's tail with his jaws as it cried out why he was doing this to them. Then another said that they thought they were friends as it bit down on his tail. He shouted in pain releasing the other pokemon. He quickly extended his claws and struck the one that was on his tail and then attempted to throw it.

"I have only one true friend of my own species, YOU THREE ARE NOT HER!" he growled as he continued to swipe at them with his claws. Scratching them repeatedly. They then fell down to the ground as he had stopped his attacks. He then turned towards Morpheus to see the last of the charmanders attacking him. He then rushed towards the Charmander to stop it from attacking Morpheus.

The drowzee seemed to be able to hold his own however, as another Psycho Cut slashed into the golden charmander. The charmander collapsed onto the ground, not moving like the others. He took a deep breath, examining his wounds and wishing there was some kind of berry, item, or something that would just prevent the pokemon from doing such harsh damage.
"I got it, I got it," the drowzee spoke, not wanting to concern the client with his troubles.
"Did you guys get hurt? I'm s-sorry I didn't do much..." the spiritomb spoke, feeling genuinely guilty about his lack of action.

Jak
Jak had went up to the Drowsee, "Those burns don't look like they feel too good.." he stated, "Are you sure?" he asked Morpheus.

The spiritomb then broke in and asked if they got hurt and quickly went to apologize for not helping much. "It is fine, do not worry tin. You gave a good enough distraction for us to get rid of them one at a time." Jak stated calmly,

"You don't happen to know where some Rawst berries are, do you?" Jak asked the spiritomb.

"No, no i'm fine," Morpheus spoke, "Just a little burn is all, nothing I can't handle," the drowzee waved off the problem, however it seems that Tin ignored him, and looked around a bit.

"Uh, I don't quite know what these 'Rawst' berries are," he admitted, "I never really seen any berries around here really. Last time I saw something try to eat something here they kinda just fell over and didn't get back up...I think they went to sleep?" the spiritomb tilted its large phantom head, wondering what item could make a pokemon fall asleep for so long?

Morpheus blinked, not quite sure what to think of this. Was the tower trying to make this spiritomb rather naive and innocent looking? Was it plotting for some built up plan? He was not sure, but he was not convinced.

Jak
Jak nodded as he turned towards the ghost type. He couldn't exactly believe that it did not know what a Rawst berry was. "You don't know what a Rawst berry is?" he asked the pokemon. "Ok, what berries do you know about?" he asked trying to test it. It didn't quite make sense that it didn't know berries too well. However, then again, before he had left his village. He didn't need to remember all the berries and such so he had trouble identifying certain things. However that was limited to orbs, seeds, and TM's.

He looked towards morpheus and then back at the ghost type. He sighed as he then began to describe what a rawst berry looked like.

"Oh!" the spiritomb perked up as the charmeleon described the shape and color of the rawst berry, "You mean the Straw Berry! Also other berries I know about is Cohest, Rechi, and Ulm, there's some others but I could go on all day with the types of berries in this place. C'mon, this way!" the Spiritomb spoke before being sucked into the strange glowing keystone. The keystone rumbled to life, and began to hop around, jerking left and right as the spiritomb tried to move itself.

Morpheus looked to Jak, "No, really, i'll be fine," he tried to insist, "It'll probably just fade away in a bit anyways!"

Jak looked towards the spiritomb as if it was crazy for a moment. "Ok, so they are called strawberries here?" Jak said as the pokemon began to leap away. He started to follow the ghost type. He just recently started letting his guard down with the spiritomb. It just was acting too kind to actually match even Raverous's deceptive nature. There is a limit that the ghost type he knew could take before it would be driven mad trying to trick someone. He believes he has seen it before.

Jak looked towards Morpheus for a moment and spoke quietly to him. "I don't know, Have you heard of those berries before?" Jak asked Morpheus as they walked. The fact that it is possible for this spiritomb to betray him had slipped his mind currently.

"No, but the tower has almost free control of everything around here, it can make up items, places, and many many other things just based on things you've see. Another client of mind saw himself fused with some other pokemon known as a Frosslass, a freak of nature to be exact..." the drowzee spoke, following along since the client seemed to trust the spiritomb. He himself was still unsure, perhaps because it was due to his higher knowledge of the dream tower, and more keener on its deceptions it could often cast. Who knew?

The spiritomb led them to some strange tree, a rather tall one that held many many berries up in its leaves that looked like invertedly colored Rawst Berries.

Jak continued to follow the spiritomb as he spoke with Morpheus. He was a bit shocked to hear that something actually looked as if it fused together with another. As both Jak, Morpheus and Tin reached the tree.

Jak stood still for a moment looking out into the distant forest. He thought he saw smoke out in the distance. However the image quickly returned to the plain old forest they were in.

He shook his head for a moment trying to figure out what he just saw. It seemed too familiar to him. As if something that was once known, but partially forgotten. He couldn't put his mind to it, to remember what that smoke trailed resembled. Especially since it didn't remain there for very long.

He then looked towards the Spiritomb as it went towards the tree. Jak assumed these are the berries the pokemon had been talking about. However, they were the wrong color.

Jak stared at the tree for a moment. "Morpheus, have you seen these before..." he asked as he stared at the invertedly colored Rawst Berries. "I don't think I want to try these." he said with a slightly worried face.

Tin seemed a bit...disappointed. A shy grin turned to a disappointed frown, "So...it's not what you're looking for?" it asked, looking as if it were a bit disappointed with itself for not bringing them to the solution to their problems so quickly.

Morpheus shook his head at the charmander's comment, "No, never..." he responded. He wondered if he should continue to insist that he's fine and keep the client from worrying. He decided against the idea, since Jak seemed to be rather insistent himself in getting something for the burns those strangely golden charmanders had left upon him.
