Dark and Gloomy

Sova peered into the dark canyon before him, unable to see the bottom. Why were they doing this again? Oh, yes, because Mirage is a vampire. Of course they had to be passing by the Black Spear mountains when the complaints about the sunlight started. For some reason, the glaceon felt compelled to fix this problem his friend was having. The darkest place he knew of was the big bottomless hole in the mountain range; the Obsidian Crevice.

He kicked a rock down into the crevice and listened. While it quickly faded from vision, he could hear it bounce and roll down, deeper and deeper, until it got too far away to be audible. It didn't sound like it was intending to stop soon.... "Here's your darkness. Happy now?" He asked to the zorua as he took a careful step down the rather steep slope.

If he still had his old Anticipation ability, he would be risking falling just from the shivers.

The espurr was silenced as it was struck by Mirage's attack, her life stopped flashing before her eyes as she was finally able to fire a Shadow Ball right at the Espurr. The psychic cat was struck, it was knocked over, but didn't get up and instead used another Disarming Cry right then and there. The memories started again, this time showing worries and doubts she had previously dismissed. Starved parents, others hating her, and that dream. Again with that damned dream!

Mirage quickly fired another Dark Pulse at the Zorua, trying to silence the feline again and get it to shut its damned mouth!

Sova prepared for an Ice Beam, but again the evil sound completely broke his concentration and like clockwork, the images of had previously seen returned. Only this time, it was this malevolent version of himself from the start. Nothing but that face. That face staring at hi-

He felt the pain of fangs biting down on his leg, it stung like poison.... He looked down to see the skorupi which no one had been acknowledging, biting down onto his leg. The pain was actually allowing him to focus on something other than that face, though. He fired an Ice Beam at the skorupi, forcing it to release its mouth from him, just in time for him to feel the full weight of the zweilous collide with him in a Dragon Rush, sending him flying back and tumbling to the ground. But at least the evil noise had stopped once more....

Mirage had stopped the noise again, only to have it start up once more. The rush of the feelings was too much, and Mirage gave an outburst of rage, and shoved aside all thought to block out the images and attack the damned cat. Dark Pulse after Dark Pulse was fired towards the espurr, her pupils small and her eyes wide as she was surrounded in a dark sphere that fired off attacks at the espurr. Each one knocked into it one after another until finally the espurr grew limp and tumbled down the crevice further.

Just as Sova had begun to struggle back to his feet, the sound  that would likely haunt his dreams for years to come started up again.  "MAKE IT STOOOOOOP!"  He screamed in emotional agony, shutting his eyes tightly in the hopes it would somehow get the haunting vision out of his head.  This only made it worse.  Then he felt another of the familiar painful bites, even on the same leg, but this time a bit higher up.  He felt the sting of the bite begin spreading throughout his body, a definite sign that he'd likely been poisoned.  The skorupi followed this attack up by spraying a toxic liquid from its mouth, drenching Sova and burning his entire body, inside and out, as if it was reacting with the poison....

The glaceon couldn't help but scream from the pain, and just as the horrid sound from the espurr stopped for the last time....he felt himself....faint?  He heard his own voice echo through his head as he faded from the waking world.  "About time you gave up....again."

Instead of collapsing to the ground, "Sova" remained standing, his facial expression of pain disappearing and turning to a menacing grin.  As the zweilous glided towards him again, he bit onto the tail of the skorupi beside him, spinning and using it as a living weapon, slamming it into the dragon and knocking the skorupi out.  He then dropped the unconscious poison type and darted towards the dragon as it recoiled, freezing and spiking his tail in the process.  He spun around quickly on his feet, slamming his tail into the two-headed dragon's chest, knocking the breath out of it.  While it was distracted with trying to continue breathing, the glaceon leaned into one of its two heads, leaving himself open for attack.  Just as its mouths began seeping the purple mist that signaled Dragon Breath, Sova fired an Ice Beam into the head he was face-to-face with, freezing it over and causing the dragon to collapse, unconscious.

This, however, was not good enough.  The glaceon lifted himself onto his front paws before slamming his tail down on the unfrozen head of the enemy.  He prepared to repeat the process until he could consider the zweilous beaten enough - likely until it was dead, but found himself pausing....his normal consciousness waking back up.

The espurr disappeared from sight, but Mirage was still in a state of total feral. She turned towards the glaceon, knocked out skorupi, and knocked out Zweilous. Not quite recognizing the Glaceon through not only the brutality and the face through the veil of ferality, she backed away, trying to get far enough away quietly without the Glaceon knowing. Her wide eyes and thin as she watched the Glaceon beat the attackers that had dared to think they could take the two on. She was cautious, and silent, until she stepped onto a small orb and crushed it with ease, not meaning to, a bright flash erupted, surely catching the attention of anything nearby. Her fur stood on end and she began to snarl, ready to fight in case the Glaceon started to attack.

Sova raised a paw to attack the zweilous, but paused....he was having some....conflicting viewpoints, to say the least. His mind was now waking up, struggling for control over his body. Then a flash caught his attention, snapping him back into normal focus. "What....hap....pe...." He stumbled in the direction of the zorua before collapsing, his adrenaline having worn off. "I feel....poizind. Whydu I feel poizind...." He mumbled, too overwhelmed with the sudden weakness to speak correctly.

"Miraaaaaaaaaaaage. Why're you over theeeeeeeeere?" He whined, trying his best to figure out what was going on through the obvious source of confusion as well as the distracting mental and physical weakness from the poison. Though he was appearing to be on some damn good drugs.

Mirage was still snarling, her teeth bared and ready for an attack, however it seemed that the effects of the strange emotional rush wore off as she began to remember who the Glaceon was, and what was going on. Mirage blinked, and shook herself, her fur fluffing up a bit as she did so and surveyed the area as to what was going on. The espurr was nowhere to be seen, the Zweilous was frozen, and the Skorupi was knocked out. Sova? Sova seemed to have rather wide eyes and seemed to be leaning back and forth, as if drunk.

"Sova? Sova you okay?" Mirage asked, taking a few steps forward, but not daring to come closer in case the two pokemon weren't really knocked out.

Sova attempted to stand, but didn't really get more than an inch off the ground before collapsing again. Though in all honesty, he probably could have stood if he wasn't....what ever his mind was currently doing. "I'm dyyyyyyiiing...." He whined overdramatically. "Haaaaaaaaalp." He reached a paw out to Mirage shakily for a moment, then dropped it to the ground and laid his head down, proceeding to moan.

Mirage rolled her eyes, finally deciding it was either put up with more of Sova's moaning or get attacked. At this point, she'd rather be attacked. She limped over to the ice type, taking a seat near him and grabbing onto his bag with her jaws and tugging it out so she could look into it. She rustled through it and pulled out a pecha berry, "You're not dying, now here."
She placed the pecha berry in front of the Glaceon, "eat this or I will GIVE you something to die about."

Sova smiled as the zorua finally approached him. It was a great relief to not be so far away from her now. And now she was feeding him too! "You ARE something for me to die for...." He replied as he accepted and ate the Pecha Berry. Its effects definitely weren't immediate, which would likely lead to him saying more odd or....questionable things. Though he wasn't even thinking about the effects, he was merely thinking about how Mirage was feeding him.

There he went again with that strange attitude towards her. Her ears flattened against her skull in uncertainty, her earrings giving a slight jingle. She began to wonder if she stuffed enough Pecha Berries down his throat, would he stop talking like this whether it was coming to his senses or being so stuffed in the mouth he wasn't physically capable of speaking? She decided against it, and simply said, "Uh-huh, sure. You're lucky I was here for the Espurr," she huffed, ignoring how she had been the basic cause of the attack.

Sova moaned in a displeased tone at the zorua's comment. He hadn't found it offensive, he just....disagreed. "Noo....you didn't save me from the espurr...." He trailed off for a moment, the poison getting the best of him briefly. "You....saved me from him...." He said as he closed his eyes. "I need to rest...." He really needed to rest, before he said more things he would definitely regret later. Maybe next he'd talk about the interesting drug trip he'd once had on on Black Mist Mountain.

"Him?" she spoke, "The espurr was a dude?" she turned to the glaceon only to find him fast asleep, "Fun..." she huffed. She looked about, the Skorupi didn't look like it was going to get up anytime soon, and the Zweilous was reduced to a large icy rock. She hopped up to the top of the Zweilous, planning to take a seat and keep watch. Her fur was able to protect her from the cold of the ice, but she had to lay down in her side to avoid her paw pads being frozen. She failed her self assigned job however, as she curled up and fell asleep herself. Her body twitched in its sleep, nightmares once again plaguing her mind.

The sleeping mind of the elusive wild Sova in its natural habitat.... He had the same basic dream he'd grown accustomed to having. Though at least today he had a change of scenery.... A dark forest with bare trees, like Shadowhue in the fall. It was clearly night, not a cloudy night. There was a full moon to light the ground. He was walking along a path through the forest when he heard a footstep behind him. Turning to face it, he saw a pair of red eyes. "You're welcome." A voice sounded from the direction of the eyes, the tone seeming more demanding of a "thank you" than actually being welcoming.

Luckily, the glaceon awoke before the dream could go any further. Usually when they continued, he was just attacked, so it was a relief to have woken up before the bad part.... He looked around at the area, his memories of the whole event a bit....fuzzy. "What happened...." He muttered to himself as he tried to piece together his broken memories.

Mirage remained on top of the icy mound, snoozing away lightly as her breath rose and fell. Her body heat had soaked her fur from the ice, but created a dent in the ice that fitted her small curl and provided the perfect bed. She was in a deep enough sleep not to notice the wet fur, but not so deep that she likely would need to be slapped awake. Her legs, flank, lip and ear all twitched occasionally, giving the sense that she was in a rather vivid dream.
